An old murder. A new threat. Can Poe find the killer before it’s too late?

Edgar Allan “Poe” Rutherford is Maui’s best unlicensed private investigator. When a client asks Poe to look into a decade-old death on the beach, he can’t help but be intrigued. The police ruled it a suicide, but it’s up to him to prove otherwise.

Poe and Alanna take a trip to Paris, and get engaged, but the flight home isn't so great.

Upon arriving back in Hawaii, their lives undergo some changes, and of course, Poe gets involved in a murder case.

Ten years ago, a woman was found dead on the beach. The police think it was suicide. The woman's daughter thinks it was murder.

Pretty good. I think the solution is something of a cliche, but it isn't too galling.

Again, a good read with a couple of surprising twists toward the end of the book.

4.25 stars. Another great read in this highly addictive series. This story starts off with a bang. Poe's latest p.i. case is a complicated one with so many twists I felt like I should've taken notes. There's also the latest in his personal life. Life on Maui is never a dull day. I continue to be charned by Poe's laid-back 1st person narration of this story and his witty side comments to the reader. Maui, the dog, and his roommate Foxx are great side characters. That surprising ending? All I can say is..I knew it!!! What a hook to keep me reading.

This fast becoming a favorite series and I'm looking forward to trying other books by this author.

Poe, is an unlicensed private investigator who accepts a job from a lawyer about a 10 year old case that was ruled a suicide. Told in the 1st person with notes made to the reader make this a fun read.
Other recurring characters are Alana, Poe's girlfriend; Maui, Poe's dog; and his long time best friend the reason he is in Maui, Foxx.

I received this book for free for an honest review.

I love this series! Mainly because the writer paints a great picture without excessive cussing and gore. He uses a lot of humor and character interactions that I find very refreshing. Of course this is a murder mystery on the island of Maui. Guess it isn't all just scuba diving and luaus. I received a copy of this book from Reading Deals. The review is voluntary and of my own opinions

Home Run

Just finished book #4, and I am extremely jealous of Poe. New home on the water, co-owner of a nice bar, and coming home to a beautiful Eurasian fiancee. Who could ask for anything more? And Foxx is going to be dad!

Interesting

Well, that certainly didn't end the way I thought it would. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good, it was just surprising.
