Elizabeth is pregnant and alone when her boyfriend, Nick, ends up in prison. With nowhere to go, she meets the Ciresco family. Understanding Elizabeth’s difficulties, they’re willing to help with her children. As the years pass, life goes smoothly. Elizabeth feels blessed until an accident leaves her world torn apart and her children mysteriously missing. She is suddenly thrust into an evil underworld she never knew existed. In an effort to recover her kids, Elizabeth becomes a mercenary for hire. She now fights powerful people who exist above the law, but each target she takes out brings her one step closer to finding her beloved children. Of course, Elizabeth must stay alive long enough to save them. Once out of jail, Nick goes looking for Elizabeth but can’t find her. She seems to have disappeared without a trace. He enlists the help of a friend to try and discover what happened to the woman he loved. But Nick has no idea what he’s getting himself into as he goes on the search for Elizabeth—and he might not recognize the vengeful woman she’s become.

What a fun read! It has a really great pace, strong characters and lots of twists and unexpected surprises. I really enjoyed the story arc of the protagonist and the secondary characters add a lot of flair and intrigue. I liked that it was unpredictable, and you never really knew where the story was going to take you, AND it did take you to a lot of fun places. Anyway, rollicking good read. I would suggest reading it as a binge session since you really get into the momentum of the novel. Treat yourself to a couple of hours under a blanket with a coffee, tea or in my my case...wine!
