Bryan Falchuk overcame adversity, lost nearly 100 pounds, ran a marathon, dramatically changed his diet and created an approach to help others live a better life, every day. That way is Do a Day. Like so many people, Bryan has faced challenges in life, like obesity, depression, work stress, the responsibilities of parenthood, the potential of losing his wife to illness, and more. And he struggled, like anyone else. Through that struggle, Bryan learned the secret to not just overcoming any individual challenge, but creating a life of achievement, happiness and harmony. In Do a Day, you will learn how to make each day contribute to your goals so you can live the life you want to live - a better life. Do a Day will free you of the burden and judgment of yesterday‘s choices, while relieving you of the pressure of what tomorrow may bring. By teaching you how to identify your true motivation and how to use that to focus on what you have to do today, Do a Day will help you change your life.
Bryan Falchuk is an author, speaker and coach helping people change their lives. Bryan has also been a successful C-level executive. As a Certified Behavior Change Specialist, Bryan is the best-selling author of Do a Day and his latest best-selling book, The 50 75 100 Solution: Build Better Relationships. He speaks regularly on the subjects of motivation, culture, relationships and overcoming challenges, including several TEDx Talks. He has been on over 150 podcasts and radio shows, and has written for many top publications like Inc Magazine, the LA Times and Chicago Tribune. Bryan also hosts his own show, The Do a Day Podcast.
Bryan Falchuk wrote a book rife with lessons that does not present itself like traditional self-help and personal development books. This is to say he doesn't dramatize, serialize, or memorialize the author as THE guy. He is like you and me, with all of the craziness and challenges we face. And he happens to be someone who figured out how to tackle and conquer some life's most difficult things (weight and body fitness, personal relationships, work-related struggles).
Each chapter is a glimpse into Bryan's life, and the truths told are not only relatable, they are facts not fiction. This infuses the book with integrity. Like he says, there are no quick fixes or overnight solutions to things that have been messing with us for months, years, decades.
Never before have I seen the concept of mindfulness defined and activated so clearly, and among the gems in this book is "The answer is to be aware of what lies ahead, but leave it there." (cited from Day 6. My 725 Mile Marathon) Mic drop. Focus on what's happening right now, and not what could occur tomorrow, what we hope will present itself, the thing we vision boarded or dreamt of.
If that wisdom shows up that early in the book, you know what awaits you is a series of heart-driven, feasible solutions and action steps. This book is for people who want - right now - to turn the corner and move the needle on the record. Now. Today. This is the book. The title reveals the framework: Do a Day. Not a week, a month, a year. A day. Totally possible, per Bryan Falchuk.
Overcome adversity and challenges by applying the "Do a Day" practice. Inspiration and information that transforms through focus. Thank you for sharing your journey and story. Karen Briscoe, author, concept creator and podcast host "5 Minute Success"
What I love most about this book, and Bryan's approach, is that it applies to anyone and everyone. Whether you're trying to exercise more, eat healthier, be a better parent, or improve your life in essentially any way, Do a Day gives you the tools to do it. Bryan shares his own life experiences (good and bad), but it never feels preachy or contrived. A really great read at any stage of your life.
This book is nothing more than an expanded version of "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." I did not think it was enlightening and didn't provide much guidance for improvement. It just repeated the same idea. If you need motivation, find a different book.
