As a demigod, Maui has done a lot to help humanity. He slowed the sun to make the days longer and used his magical fishhook to pull up new islands. He battled monsters and even helped create coconuts. But there's one thing Maui has never done: be somebody's friend. Follow Maui on his journey to become the best friend ever--with some help from the brave voyager named Moana, that is.
Such an amazing story about how to be a good friend. Illustrations were gorgeous and the color choice amazingly appealing! Cute fun fast read that kept my kids entertained and engaged! Give it a try!
While this book had fantastic illustrations and a good story line, it was a little long for the audience that I read it to and they lost interest before the book came to an end.

This very sweet book tells the story of Moana from the perspective of my favorite character in the film, Maui. Narrated by the entertaining demigod himself, The Mighty Maui Makes a Friend explores the universal theme of friendship in a fresh and entertaining way. Fans of the film will enjoy the familiar backdrop and characters. A great choice for boys and girls alike!
The artwork in this book is absolutely stunning, and I loved reading this to my daughter. The book is told by Mayi as he teaches others about what it takes to be a good friend, and I can confirm everything in this book is how me and my friends have stayed friends so long.
Great for little ones who are learning how to get along with others!
This book was fun to read aloud as a mom… But The six-year-old has read it at one star. He says the art was not good and the story it was not good… but that’s his opinion lol
The kids really enjoyed this one. I think it helped that there was a positive message to pass along, teaching children about friendship in life. There is an important aspect in life to having a good friend, and I appreciate how this book zoned in on that.
My 7 years old review: “ fantastic, it talks about being a good and caring friend” My 5 years old review: “ I liked the part where Maui becomes friends with Moana forever☺️”
I loved how (not trying to spoil) he says how friends act,if they are fake they won't say/do these things. Also its fun at the end cause he says " You can consider yourself as my friend too".
Wish there were more books based in Hawaii... for example... nah I won’t say... Your child(ren) will enjoy the story & Illustrations... Much Aloha & Blessed Be...
Aww, this is a cute little book. Teaches a good lesson on friendship. From the help of Maui from Moana. It's a quick read. It's a good book for little kids.
