I must have read a different book from everyone else seems to have read.

I wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get past the female lead being a b***** who took off knowing it would break the male leads heart and admits to basically turning into a slut after she moved and only coming back to town because the guy she lived with broke the 'open relationship' rules and his new toy got her fired. I didn't believe for a hot minute that without those events she ever would have gone back. Her current attraction to the male lead just seemed like she wanted him back to stroke her ego, not because she actually cared. The male lead started out fairly likable but he came off as a doormat who didn't really listen to her when they were young and married the one person that he knew would hurt her most. The wife/nemesis turned out to be a total skank and he didn't seem to care and he still insists on defending her to the female lead. He's also supposedly turned into quite the heart breaker and ladies man but that just seemed forced and unbelievable. The exes show up to cause trouble, and succeed. I never liked her and he was only slightly better. Oh well.

I feel bad that I disliked this book so much since I'm leaving this review for an ARC and it really sounded like a book I would enjoy.

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Cowboy, all about Ryder Harris a Veterinarian and the love of Alex's life before she left right after graduation from high school. It's been about six years and Alex has been living in the city working as an Investment Portfolio Broker and going out with one of the Managing Partners Andrew for over three years. One day she came home from work to find Andrew in a compromising situation, so she just walked out. The next couple of weeks were depressing, and eventually she was fired/downsized and let go, & her boyfriend just asked her to leave. She decided it was time to re-group so she packed all her belongings and went home to live with her parents! The author wrote a very fast paced story that will leave you reeling and wanting more! I myself could not put this book down, from page one to the last page it kept my undivided attention! WOW, what can I say this was a very moving story and I loved it!

Hot cowboy!!

Ryder is a veterinarian and Alex is his high school sweetheart. Alex left her small town to see the world and Ryder stayed in the small town, and married Alex's old nemesis!! But after Alex's boyfriend cheated and she was fired, she returned home to her small town. Can first love conquer all or will it only lead to heartbreak?

Wow! Ryder and Alex - high school sweethearts who have quite a few mishaps and miscommunications along the way. Alex doesn't think she wants to small town country life and doesn't want to "become" her mom. Alex moves to the city leaving Ryder behind without a goodbye. When Alex's current boyfriend "cheats" on her and she loses her job, she runs back home to live with her parents. Back home, she and Ryder pick up where they left off. Alex realizes this was where she was supposed to be the whole time. Will Alex and Ryder get their HEA with two ex's teaming against them? You'll have to read it to find out. This was a fast and easy read for me. I loved the characters. The plot was good. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. While there needed to be a little more suspense to the story, I did love it. I can't wait to read more from Alexandria Hunt.

Sweet, sexy & enjoyable read!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Cowboy by Alexandria Hunt and voluntarily reviewed this book. Ryder Harris' love of his life had left him behind, without a word or note. He was wrecked, heartbroken and had one failed marriage because he still was in love with Alex, no matter how much he denied it. One day, he hears that she is back in town for good and realizes that he still wants her, but was leery of having the past repeat itself again. By the grace of the forces that be, Ryder and Alex soon find themselves back in each other's arms, but what will happen when people from both their pasts plant themselves back into their lives again, will their love for each other withstand the onslaught?

"Cowboy" is a second chance at love and doing it right. Ryder and Alex just couldn't seem to get it right even though they both loved each other. One miscommunication after another showed a bit of immaturity in both the H and the h. They both listened to other people without talking with each other and assumed things. With a second chance of getting it right, Ryder and Alex will find their HEA with each other. And who doesn't like a second chance at love? The story was well thought out and I would say it is a bit more for the young adult reader. I would like to thank Hidden Gems for gifting me "Cowboy". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 3.75 Stars!

Alex needed to see the world a little bit, and she walked away from her love, her home town, and everything she knew in search of something else. Ryder is still trying to get over Alex when she comes back home. Hearts were broken and trust was lost, but maybe these two can come back to each other and repair and rebuild their relationship. I loved this steamy emotional second chance romance, and I thought Alexandria Hunt did a great job with Alex and Ryder's story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I liked the idea of the woman breaking the guys heart and wanting a second chance. In so many books it's always the guy breaking the woman's heart. When Alex was younger her and Ryder were in love and she up and left him for the city cus she didn't want to stay in a small town. Years later Alex comes back to the small town after her boyfriend Andrew cheated on her and she was fired from her job. She wants to make amends with Ryder, she has never forgotten about him and still loves him. But will Ryder give her another chance to be in his life?
The way the author portrayed Ryder, he could be my boyfriend any day lol....a cowboy veterinarian that is polite and says ma'am and darlin' is so hot

Oh Ryder, now you are one Cowboy I would like to keep. He was a loyal son, caring, and loved animals so much he became a Vet. He thought his life was mapped out, keep his girl Alex, marry, have kids etc but it didn't quite work out that way. Alex loved Ryder but she wanted to travel, not to get tied down so she moved away. Sometimes the excitement or something you are looking for is right on your own doorstep. That's what happens to Alex unfortunately. Her new boyfriend Andrew didn't work out or the job so she goes home. Sometimes decisions of one person have repercussions. Ryder makes bad decisions like Alex but deep down they still loved each other. A brilliant story of two people making mistakes and trying to find their way back to what should have been ages ago. Crazy exes, secrets, drama. And so much more. Loved it.

Great Story

Alex & Ryder met in high school, she was a barrel racer and he was a calf ropper. They were happy together but she wanted more than small town. She left and broke his heart. Now she is back after living in the big city, she got her MBA, she had been cheated on, fired and asked to move out. He became a Vet and married her rival, he is getting a divorce. Can they start over.

This was my first book by Alexandria Hunt but it won't be my last. Alex left her small town to see the world. Instead she got a job in the city and a creepy boyfriend who betrayed her. She would up back home and in the arms of her first love. Second chance/secret baby romance. Well written and captivating from page one!

I completely fell in love with this book from the very beginning. Alex and Ryder had such a magical romance when they were kids, but the travel bug had a hold on Alex and refused to let go. After being away for years, her life is in shambles and she's moved back home to try to get her life back together. She hopes to return to her romance with Ryder, but will be happy with a friendship if that's all she can have. Ryder thinks about hurting her as bad as she hurt him, but loves her too much to do that. After some bad luck and a few terrible incidents, life takes a turn for the worse with these two. Alex moves back to the city to get away from the possibility of running into Ryder again, but finds out even more has happened than she thought. Will Ryder get her back? Or does he believe what he thinks he saw? Will Alex talk to him about Brittany, or just let things go and spend the rest of her life miserable where she doesn't want to be? Must read to find out...things aren't even close to what you'd expect. I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was a nice second chance romance book. It was a light read for me. First half of the book was a little slow, but got better as it went on. Both H and H were well suited and the chemistry between them was good. Hot cowboy indeed. I was given a copy of this book and have left an honest review.

Second Chance/Secret Baby

What a terrific book Alexandria has written but I would expect nothing less from her. I love how tells a story that anyone can love. I get lost in her writing.
Alex couldn't wait to get out of her small town after graduating HS. She didn't care if she destroyed the heart of the handsome, gentle, wonderful man she claimed to love. And Ryder was devastated. It took him years to move on with his life. Years of one empty fling after another. Then he married the one woman that Alex hated with a passion. Now Alex was back in town, after losing her job and being dumped by her boyfriend of 3 years. But once she returned she realized this was where she belonged. She also realized she wanted Ryder back and she was willing to fight for him. But she had to wonder, would Ryder want her back? Was it too late? And what about his wife?

I was pulled into the story and couldn't stop reading. No matter how many times I got upset at the characters. This story kept you going, I was noisy and needed to know more about them. Them lying to each other over certain things, made me want to bop them over the head. But that is what good stories do to me. The author pulled me into the story and made me a watcher. I soon needed to know if these two would get to have a happy ever after. I loved the pace of the story, loved all the ups and downs that were thrown at the Alex and Ryder. Loved all the steamy spots through out the book.

Two people who are so meant to be get their second chance at happiness in Cowboy. When Alex disappeared from her small town she left behind the boy who loved her more than anything and now that's she's back they get a second chance at what could be. Ryder knew that Alex wanted to leave, but when she didn't talk about as much he thought maybe she would stay, until the day she left town without a goodbye. Both of them have changed and grown in their time apart, but when they spend time together it's like they are picking up where they left off. Now if only their respective exes would get the memo that they are exes these two would be golden, but life doesn't always work out that way and they will have to lay all their cards on the table if they want that happy ending they can picture. Really enjoyed this book but I must admit I wassnt Alex's biggest fan. Ryder made up for it though. Lol. I really loved him. And I did like the characters together. They were so different but the same. And Alex finally figured out where she belonged. Good story overall with a nice ending!

Will outside forces be able to come between the pair when things finally start going right?

LOVED this story! I'm a sucker for a hot second chance romance and this was perfect. Was happy Ryder, while being a playboy after she left, didn't play games when they were back together. I think their biggest downfall was keeping things from each other, but was so happy when he finally decided that he needed to take a chance and chase her! Great book and cannot wait for more!
