The Godkiller

Rate this book
The Gods have gotten old; the chaos is winning. The only hope for the people remains in founding a God of reason to bring order. And that requires the death of the old Gods of faith. Who will kill the old Gods? Who will stake the entire world in the pursuit of reason? Who will be the Godkiller? After years of darkness, an island of logic was born within the sea of chaos. It was Civilization. So far we have just survived and weathered the assaults of the unenlightened hordes that surround us. The unenlightened ones tried to wipe us out, but we are the light! How mighty can the dark before us be? Now, we have grown, from children we have become men, now Civilization is strong and powerful. Now we must finally realize our cause! It is the only way for our savage brethren to see the light; it is the only way to alleviate their suffering and ignorance. It is the only way for order to win over the chaos. All who oppose us, stand with chaos and must be eliminated! On the peripheries of Civilization live a people used to hardships and pain. We are the chosen people of the Elements, we are the Nation. It is from us that these fools of Civilization descend. They are too weak to live in the rules of nature and so they cower behind their city walls practicing their weak magic. The law of nature and elements is supreme. These robed fools think they can imagine a better one? So far they have shied away and so have been saved. But now, the piglet becomes a boar and feels it must rouse the ire of the Nation to prove itself. Fine then, we have not feasted on pig for a while! We have etched our place in this world with the iron of our swords. Your Civilization calls to us with its abundance of riches and its many learned people. Now is the time to strike, before you become any stronger. Old wise eyes regard both these peoples silently. Separated from these peoples by forests and impenetrable woodlands live the most ancient people of them all, the Tribes. All people descend from these old ones, though the children seem to have forgotten who the parents are. The children learn to forge weapons in fire and think they are superior to us, the old ones? The children come in funny clothes, wearing smells that announce them before they can be seen, and they tell us that they are progress? Because they eat with metal and we with hands we are wrong and they are right? The arrogance of the young, to come and tell us that the land we live on is theirs because a paper says so? But we wait. Like so many before them, these children too think they are the chosen ones. They think that their arrogance will save them whereas that will eat them alive. And then, we the Chosen people shall inherit again that which always was ours. All the mortals cannot see what they are fighting for. I know truths everyone else is blind to, even the Gods. We are one people. We always have been. But people have to fool themselves to believe they are unique, they are different. The truth is we are all Tribe, Nation and indeed Civilization. Mortals belong to them all, and there is no exception. But change demands the demarcation of three. They cannot see how linked they are to each other, how necessary they are to each other. So they fight, shout and howl, simply to give meaning to their lives. And I cannot begrudge them that. Why waste time and resources trying to save what could never be lost to try and preserve that which needs no preserving? They just don’t see what they are a part of. I can, and so I can steer them, like great giant beasts in need of a guide. I am that Shepherd. I am their salvation…I am the Godkiller.

Book Title: The GodKiller
Author: Swayam Singh
Format: Paperback

Book Title:
The title of the book ' The GodKiller ' looks very exciting, rebellious and interesting

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book has many details related to the mighty power names God. The different phases of the moon on which one of the prominent faith systems in India predicts the future, the Muladhara or the root chakra's image probably which is considered the strongest of the seven chakras of a human body is also found in the image. A person dressed in a long coat like a magician holding a sword that is pointed towards the chakra symbol is also seen.  All these details give a good impression to a reader.

Plot:
The story is about a young boy living amongst a set of tribes, who is born with utmost reluctance against people's will as his birth was considered dangerous to his mother, Aki's life. But being a mother, Aki decided to deliver the baby child. Since his birth, the child is named as ' the motherkiller ', who is all certain time considered evil and dangerous and is abandoned from the habitat of the tribes. He then is saved by a hunter who saved the child from the wolves in the forest. The child is nursed and mothered by a priest. The child is named ' serpent ' then.  And later the same child is called as ' Stargazer '. Why is he named and what is the importance is what the story is all about.

Review:
The journey of the child, the story's protagonist since his birth, his growing up years, his feelings and encounters with various people is narrated in a mind-blowing manner. The story is very intellectually scripted with the topics of humanity, religion, politics, culture, and trading. The concepts of civilizations, nations, and tribes are explained in the diplomatic yet a cognitive way.

The amalgamation of the present day's life sequences being molded as different situations and science by the priests to the tribes is commendable. This concept may be a complex thing to understand by some readers, but the depth shown in it is really appreciable. There is lot more that can be described, but the intensity can be felt only when the story is read. And this is the first part in ' The GodKiller ' series and a small introduction to the second part is also provided at the end of this book.

What I like:
1. The excellent writing skills
2. The idea of the creation of a new god and a story attached to it without any intimidating things
3. The intensity with which the story is narrated
4. The dream sequences in every chapter added more beauty to the story
5. The inclusion of scientific advancements into traditions during the evolution of civilization is very well authored.

What I didn't like:
The book is so engaging that there is a nanoscopic view of errors if any exist. But the slow pace of the story might be causing a little discomfort for some readers. Also, the small font size of the paperback book is somewhat bothering.

Characters:
The book has many important characters where every one of it is plotted so very well. But few characters really steal the show. Some characters make the readers think, calculate and introspect.

Narration:
There is no denying that the narration in this book is full of novelty and appeal of such a different concept.  The author has done an incredible job in creating a new fictional world with every aspect of worth believing.

Language & Grammar:
Beautiful language and wonderful vocabulary are found in the story.

My Final Verdict:
A definite page turner and mind churner!

Book Title: 5/5
Book Cover: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Narration: 5/5
Language & Grammar: 5/5
Final Rating: 5/5

I don’t know what to put it as blurb or introduction because the whole book and plot is so huge and each chapter is important and interesting so it might do injustice to the book. But I will try my best to give brief introduction and reviews. This is the book one of the series. The concept of the book is deep so before the beginning author has given the map which shows the different areas of tribes and different clans and also brief explanation of different civilisations, nations and tribes is given so we can read and understand the book in a better way.
Book starts with an old man met a young man who is the visitor. They both asked for each other’s introduction. But they both talked in a code language. Then story tuns into the past, the old man tells the story to that young man.
Aki who was about to deliver a child. In tribes if the mother dies during the childbirth it is said to be that child is a cursed one. That child is saved by a priest. People call it as serpent.
There are many number of characters so like Ekur, Jemukha, Suruchi.
The first book is also divided into parts. And I am eagerly waiting for the second part.
The struggle between civilisation, nation and tribes is tearing the world apart and old gods cannot hold them together so people are seeking the new gods that requires the death of the old Gods of faith. And the question is who will kill the old Gods? Who will be the Godkiller?

My take-
▶️It’s the most wonderful book I’ve came across by an Indian author till now.
▶️I wish I could give more than 5/5 stars.
Plot is unique and wonderfully written.
▶️This is definitely a masterpiece and best seller one.
▶️I know it’s stupid to compare this but if you loved GoT, LOTR and HP then definitely you will love this one.
▶️I am waiting to watch movies/series based on this book.
▶️Amazing plot, writing style. Concept.
▶️It’s difficult to write such type of fiction book with amazing details of the characters, environment, and concept of a civilisation.
▶️Hats off to the author.
❤️Must Must read!!

Blurb :-

The struggle between Civilization, Nation and Tribes is tearing the world apart. The Gods have gotten old; they cannot hold back the chaos any longer. The only hope for the people remains in founding a God of reason. And that requires the death of the old Gods of faith. Who will kill the old Gods? Who will stake the entire world in the pursuit of reason? Who will be the Godkiller?

My Review :-

"The darkness is only the absence of light, nothing more"
It's a story of survival. Story of Brotherhood, Love, Lust, Sacrifices, Betrayals, Patience, Planning and more than all, a story of fulfillment of purpose.
It's a story of a mere abandoned tribal child went on to become lord of the world.

The story begins with an old man in the realm of his dreams recites back his life story to a young visitor. How a tribal child went on to unify Clans of the nation and the civilization and rule them all with a single purpose. A beautifully crafted tale that's been written centred around a man named Stargazer and how he went on to accomplish his dreams evading death.

Positives :-

> The highlight of the book is the Development of each and every single Character. Stargazer, Saruchi, Jemukha, Drakas, Lohli, Nyala, Ekur, Pax, Trasimine and many more... Every single character is beautifully crafted and it's hard not to fall in love with even one of them

> Simple and easy style of writing and constant Turns in the plot and not overly celebrating the Protagonist is another good feature of the book.

> The story doesn't bore you one bit. The author has made sure of that fact and the constant involvement of politics and war strategies has made it possible to be a page turner

Negatives :-

> The book had a lot of content and could have been made into two books to make it a better seller by holding on the curiousity at many points , nevertheless it's an absolute roller coaster of a ride.

> The print could have been better. The smaller font size and change in the font style made it a little tough read, but a worthy read though.

Finally, it's a fantastic book which takes you on a journey into an amazing fictional world and love and live each and every character.

P.S :- The second book, The Godkiller 2 is coming up and it looks like a promising one too... Will be waiting

Swayam Singh has delivered an amazing political centric novel. The world broadly has three factions - Civilization, Nation and Tribe. Each of them differ on the basis of their founding believes. Civilization is based on logic and knowledge, Nation are warriors are believe in the major elements such as air, water, fire and earth, and the Tribe whose only religion is Mother Earth and value their freedom the most.

Trigger warnings for child abuse, physical abuse and rape.

A boy (Stargrazer) born as Tribal but was shunned by them because his mother died during labor. Superstition labelled him cursed (Motherkiller/The Evil) and was left to die. The child was picked up by a priest who served the Civilization but lived among the tribes. The priest taught him about the civilization, stars and all promising future the boy would have there. The priest sudden death leaves stargrazer no choice but to run for this life and get to Civilization.

Stargazer makes in way in Civilization and moves up the ranks because of his intelligence and also because of his two new friends (one the prince of the Civilization and the other the prince of the Nation). The trio have the world at their feet.... But it crashes.

Thirst for political power can breaks friendship, leads you to kill loved ones. Stargazer through the course of this book is shunned from and craves his way into all three of the major factions.

This story is packed with love, lust, betrayal, war while revolving around politics and the concept of god. The character are grey, making it harder for you to pick sides. Only con would be that the pace of the book somewhere in the middle, it dragged a little. None the less, it is a great read. Eagerly waiting for the next book

Title: The Godkiller
Author: Swayam Singh
Format: Paperback /Kindle Edition
Length: 380 pages
Synopsis:
The struggle between Civilization, Nation and Tribes is tearing the world apart. The Gods have gotten old; they cannot hold back the chaos any longer. The only hope for the people remains in founding a God of reason. And that requires the death of the old Gods of faith. Who will kill the old Gods? Who will stake the entire world in the pursuit of reason? Who will be the Godkiller?
Review:
The book has a rather different theme than most of the trending books today. It is based on tribes, nations and civilizations. The story book focuses on the character Stargazer who is at large shaped by different societies that he is associated with in the course of life. his life starts of as him being a victim of the society and moves ahead in a fast-paced way. The storyline resonates the writer’s intellect and insight with the vast arena of fields that the book looks into like humanity, politics, religion, culture and trading. The peculiarity of the book is also reflected through the importance that is gives to the natural elements. The concept that the writer has chosen for his book is a bit complicated. The book makes use of very good English and might be a bit hard to get along with for those who are not very comfortable with the language. For the people looking for an English language treat, this can be “the one” for them. The book has many characters and all of them contribute significantly to the building of the story. The whole idea of creation of a new god seems really fascinating. Between every two chapters there is a dream sequence placed. These sequences are well drafted and beautify the story. The whole storyline is in all deep and intense. The book however is lengthy and the tiny font is bothersome. Apart from that I really liked the first part and look forward to the next one.

The Godkiller

There're certain books which really make your day or perhaps week based on what we read & imagine via it. And this book is certainly a good one based on all the hype so far. What's the best way to be happy? It's when the book which you had lot of expectations & it finally lives upto it's name & reputation.

Title is catchy, it's unique, sounds pleasing & interesting.
Cover is beautiful, designed well & lives upto the plot in hand.
Theme weaves around politics, gods, humans, crimes, philosophy, economics, murder, dreams, fantasy, family, history, genocides, engineering, relationships, hereditary, heritage, sustainability, suspense, traditional mindset, science, religion, civilisation, humanity & many other concepts & aspects blend in a wonderful way which connects to a different book.

I won't discuss or ponder about the details in hand, nor will I discuss the story here. All I would say is if you're a reader who looks for uniqueness in life & wish to learn something, then this is a must book for you to read.

Language is simple, vocabulary is awesome. Writing style is enhanced & satisfying. Narration is good, it satiates our hunger for more. A very good fantasy book to read.

A beautiful and rare looking cover and astonishing Title "The GodKiller" , it actually draws yourself of reading this book. Initial thoughts on the book was that it is a book build on Atheism to destroy the concept of God. This book is far more interesting an intruding that that.

I have no words to describe the theme of the book. Life can take you through daring turns and it may ask you to pick one out of two .. You may want both but ideally you have to literally kill or loose something out. The book is a initial kick start of a series of books. It gives us a pictorial description of different genres of tribes , their civilizations and nature. The are flashback stories involving various characters.

Its a big book with 380 Odd pages and when I say its an absolute page turner , I really mean it is a it made me reader all of those with equal enthusiasm. The name of characters in the book are unique and well crafted

The character of the Stargazer was well built with the story being fairly fast paced. The way the thrill has been maintained throughout, makes the book a page turner. And the whole concept of Tribes, the Civilization and the Nation was a really appealing and intriguing one. This book is surely one of the commendable reads I've had this year and I'd recommend this book to every reader who looks for something unique and something which would leave an impact on one's thought processes.

Prepare yourself for an epic journey! The Godkiller is undoubtedly a huge world of its own.
The Godkiller is the first in a series of books and with the first only being so full of events with a mind-blowing sequencing, one can only wonder how great the sequel will be.
The plot of this story, when taken into consideration, along with the protagonist, can be said to be a sort of bildungsroman. We see the hero of the story – Motherkiller, or rather, Stargazer, as he should be rightly called, grow from a baby unto his old age. This bildungsroman is not a traditional sense as we can say it covers his entire life story as opposed to only certain bits of it. Nonetheless, this use only enhances the entire story. The character development especially is something to be noted. We see Stargazer truly developing from a precocious child into an ambitious and clever young man. His love and sexual conquests are also worth reading about – each is a lesson on its own for him.
The author has also included dream like sequences before the beginning of each chapter and from the reader’s perspective, this is quite enlightening. These sequences are also of significant importance because we see that these mark important moments is Stargazer’s life – these are important lessons that he learns.
The other characters are also well rounded and truly three-dimensional. The plot was compelling and truly addicting. Although I do think that this is a truly polarizing book – there will be many who will hate it, simply because it is no walk in the park; the author has kept it quite intellectual, but then again, there will be many who will love it. I personally loved it and look forward to the next book. I do think however, that if one pulls through the first part, the rest will be a breeze; this is a story that ensnares one’s attentions from the very beginning. The epic, although a low fantasy, has an amazing blend of politics and economics, governance and betrayals etc., in it that people are bound to love. It is an elaborate and an extensive world that is shown in the book, and the hierarchies are amazing to read about. A truly utopian dystopia has been presented.
The themes are really interesting too – we see war, friendships, the importance of kinship and so on. But most importantly, we see the reversal of science and religion into Civilization and Tribes respectively. It is very amazing to see how the author has actually used inspiration from the current times and situations into making this world where ‘Priests’ teach the Tribes about the wonders of science (and not religion!)
The writing style is good. The concepts are all well researched by the author. The editing has also been well done. But talking about the cover, it is simply W-O-W ! A truly aesthetic and appealing picture presented to the eye, The Godkiller is must-read.

The GodKiller By Swayam Sigh

When i read the title is thought the book was build to wipe the ideology of God...but I felt it was more of creation of new one a better one...in good faith...

🔼Highlights
"The aspirations changed as mortals decide some became prominent and others would be forgotten.New ideas meant new ideals and meant new God"

💛The book is Fiction and can say a "Masterpiece and soon to be best-seller" I am  damn sure about it...

💛The author has created a whole new fiction world with depth understanding of each and every aspect while he was creating it...

Book- The Godkiller
Author- Swayam Singh

Summary-

The gods have gotten old; leaving Civilization, Nation and Tribe to struggle among them. In order to bring peace, the old gods must be replaced with a new God of reason. But who will kill the old Gods? Who will stake his entire world in order to bring back reason and peace? Who will be the Godkiller?

Review-

The main character, Motherkiller aka Stargazer, is a boy who always got dealt with a harsh hand by life. The world is growing in hostility and bloodlust. If he wants to survive then he must leave the Tribes and sworn allegiance with Civilization. After his only guardian gets brutally murdered by the Tribe people, he leaves for Civilization where he's tested and trained to become an Illuminator and Guardian.

The story is very well built. It's fast paced and the situations are bound to tug at your heart with apprehension and curiosity. The main themes are love, deception, friendship, duties, superstitious beliefs, education and the barbaric ways of living in rural areas. The characters are relatable and are built very strongly. The book also talks about a few superstitious beliefs that cost several lives in rural areas. Their world is dark but light is also there. Will the Tribe reach out to the light? Or will they succumb everyone into darkness?

The cover is beautiful and catches you in a glance. I have to say the editing of the book was great too. Usually novels use a few fonts but this one has different fonts, coloured pages to show the dreamland visions. Kudos to Jayraj Patil for the amazing cover.

The blurb goes well with the whole dark setup of the book. All in all, I would definitely recommend it to every book nerd out there.

PS- part 2 of the book will also be coming out.

Narration-4.5/5
