He has only a month to win back the woman he loves.
When Ella Bridge fell for Alfred Striker, she thought she’d found the one. But then, days before she left for France as part of a professor exchange program, Striker walked away. Now she’s back home in North Salem, determined to ignore him no matter how tempting she still finds him.
Before Ella, Striker lived a carefree life, responsible for no one’s happiness but his own. With Ella, though, images of minivans and white picket fences started to surface, and he bolted. Striker quickly realized walking away from Ella was the biggest mistake he ever made. With her home, he’s determined to win her back.
Although she’s positive it’s a big mistake, Ella agrees to give Striker a month. Can Striker prove to Ella that he loves her, or will he break her heart again?
In His Kiss is the fourth book in USA Today Best Selling Author Christina Tetreault’s Love On The North Shore Series. While it can easily be read as a standalone story, you'll likely enjoy reading the other books, too.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads. ======================= “Doesn’t mean she has to like it. I don’t think it helped that he started dating again right after you left.”
“Table for one?” Striker heard the question in her voice. He couldn’t remember a time he’d ever shown up here alone.
Striker’s eyes slid to the attractive blonde filling mugs with beer. They’d hooked up numerous times before he’d gotten together with Ella, and Tony knew it.
The last time he’d been with her was more than two months ago. He’d known when he left her apartment it’d been a mistake.
Striker held back a groan. “Go with Spanish.” Yeah, he realized it was a long shot, but if Ella gave him another chance he didn’t want her to be his ex-lover’s professor.
He hadn’t gone out or had sex since leaving Cora’s apartment in June.
He’d ended relationships with plenty of women. Since he usually dated women who lived outside of North Salem, he didn’t run into many once he stopped calling them. He liked it that way. The few he did see from time to time never reacted the way Ella had.
The moment reminded him of a similar one the previous fall. He’d seen her on the side of Union Street with a flat and stopped to help her. Once he finished, he’d asked her out. They’d spent the next eight months together.
“Funny. You kept busy dating. I heard you started right after I left. With so many women around, I’m surprised you noticed I was even gone.”
My room now barely fits my bed. Right, Striker?” Ella’s breath burned in her throat as jealousy singed the corners of her control. Images of Striker making love to Cora in some tiny bedroom formed. Rather than say something she’d later regret, she bit the inside of her mouth.
“Go have fun with Cora. She’s obviously interested.”
Since you know the size of her bedroom, you were interested.” “Yeah, okay. I had sex with her. It didn’t mean anything. And it was months ago.”
“How many others were you with while I was gone?” She clenched her jaw so tight her lips barely moved when she spoke. “Ella, it doesn’t matter.” “It does to me, Striker. How many?” His shoulders fell. Ella wouldn’t let this go until he answered. “Three.” It was mostly the truth. He’d had sex with three women, but he’d gone out with six.
Another crappy hero and doormat heroin. Why do people in the heroins life always encourage them to go back to the guy who treated them like crap ? Another very irritating but predictable pattern is , heroine stays celibate during the separation but of course the hero never does the same. God forbid the heroine does get with someone, because the hero gets insanely jealous and possessive, but she’s not entitled to feel the same way ?
Another great read from Christina. Ella and Alfred aka (Striker) 😂 is definitely a love story they get together after he finds her with a flat tire and they start a relationship and for a few months it’s goes well until Striker ends it and Ella goes to Paris for an internship, when she returns for Jessie’s wedding to Mack, Striker finds out he’s made an awful mistake and wants Ella back, after he and Catrina his sister get together to plan out how he finally gets his chance but there’s a catch he only has 30 days to convince Ella he loves her and wants another chance to prove it. Lol well was fun to read and find to find out what’s happen in them 30 days. Can’t wait to read more from this series
Ella and Striker are in love, but he gets scared of the intensity of his feelings for her and breaks up with her. Ella goes on to France for the summer, as a teacher. When she gets back, Striker wants a second chance.
Ok to read. It was interesting at the beginning but lost interest at the middle of my read and just keep on flipping pages until towards the end but, wow! You must have a very big heart to easily forgive a man who break up with you and started dating as soon as he was free of you. Not so happy with the ending!!
This was the 4 th book in a series about a small, tightly knit Massachusetts town where everybody knows everybody else's business. Okay as a standalone, but I might have better understood more about the various characters' relationships, if I'd read the first 3. I enjoyed the storyline, but felt it ended too abruptly. Also felt some situations, (such as the waitress who had a one night stand with Striker, but obviously wanted more, could have ended up in Ella's new Spanish classes; or the other dance instructor at Prime might object to Ella becoming the new director) and these incudents could have been developed further to create more conflict, forcing the main characters more angst before working things out. But perhaps these incidents might prove to be plots of future books in the series. It was a light, easy read, and a welcome break from more intense reading material. If you like light, romantic books, with continuing characters and intertwined storylines, you'll probably like these books! Warning: Realistic, believable, tasteful, but somewhat explicit sexual situations.
3.5 actual stars. Well, I forgot to leave a review for this book before I started the next in the Love on the North Shore series! (hangs head in shame) So, here you go….
In His Kiss is all about Ella and Striker (aka Alfred, for those who can get away with it…which there aren’t many). This is a second chance romance. Striker broke up with Ella right before she left for France. She was on a professor exchange program and would be gone for several months. While his motives were sincere, he didn’t really think things through very well. Now, Ella is back home and Striker realizes he made the mistake of his life. Actually, he realized it about a month or so after Ella left. Now he has to get her to give him a second chance.
Does Striker get that second chance? Well, of course, or else there wouldn’t be a book about it. It’s not all smooth sailing and Ella makes him work for it. Striker is more than up for the challenge and In His Kiss is a fun, entertaining book that holds your interest yet doesn’t send you on a roller coaster of emotions.
What another great read in the Love On the North Shore series. I absolutely love Ella and Striker. If you read the books in order, you knew they were dating in a previous book but that Striker was always a ladies man just like Tony used to be. It is so great to finally see him realize that he lost what he really wanted and needed and go after Ella with all his might. What a great story! I also love the mix-ins of Drew & Kelsey and can't wait to read their book next.
This series just keeps on getting better and better! Love all the characters in this town and the friendship that they maintain. One of the best points in this series is even though the book is about one couple, all the characters are in the story. To me, that makes a good read. Already bought the next book in this series!
I love second chance romances, especially set in small towns. With this story we get both. Ella and Striker were in a relationship, but when she gets a professor exchange position in Paris, he calls it off. Now that she’s back in town, will he be able to win her back or will she find someone new? Grab your copy and see what happens.
The story was fantastic and was well written. The characters were great an made you feel like you were almost in their place when things were happening to them. This had a little unexpected twist at the end.Definitely a 5 star.
This was such a predictable story. It had nothing that made it interesting. The only reason I finished it was because I continued to hope for a twist! There wasn’t even a curve. If you are into boring and predictable buy this, otherwise skip it.
This book was very good and the characters were so fun. I really liked the romance in the book. The small town family and friends were all about close relationships. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
I really enjoyed the book. I am looking forward to reading the next one. I have read other books in this series and have enjoyed them all. I recommend them.
I've read all the books in Tetreault 's Sherbrooke and North Shore series and I highly recommend them. They are filled with good lovers, friends and family.
