I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in 2004 with a BFA in illustration, my love of cartooning and comics has led me to where i am today.
I've done licensed work for DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, Fraggle Rock and more. I love being a nerd, so being able to draw nerdy things for a living is the best thing ever.
I'm married to the best guy ever. Ryan keeps me grounded.
I have a daughter, Grayson, who is my booger-y little destroyer of worlds.
I like my cats... a LOT. ...Our dog isn't too bad.
I live in a state shaped like a mitten.
The constant support of my family, pets, friends, and even complete strangers, is what drives me to succeed in art. Thank you everyone, because of you, I am what I am.
Katie Cook is one of my favorites of all the comic writers, and this was an entertaining issue. The idea of the IDW Deviations series, as I understand it, is telling kind of AU-style stories, and the premise Katie Cook came up with is, what if Princess Celestia had made Prince Blueblood her protégé instead of Twilight Sparkle?
Shenanigans. That's what happens.
Instead of sending Blueblood to Ponyville as the next step of his magical education, Princess Celestia sends him there to get him out of her mane. I'm sure she immediately regretted taking him on as her student and that she was relieved to finally be rid of him.
Of course, instead of supervising the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, Blueblood takes a detour to Manehattan, and by the time he gets to Ponyville, Nightmare Moon is already on the loose.
Hilarity ensues. Particularly when Blueblood has Applejack doing all this stuff for him and she's under the impression she's doing it in preparation to take on Nightmare Moon, and when she finally asks him if they're ready, he's like, "You're still on about that?'
This issue was very entertaining and I enjoyed it. It was definitely worth the $1.99 I paid for it.
I've seen a ton of fanfictions about if Celestia had took another pony under her wing as her pupil instead of Twilight Sparkle but here we get a real comic of it. It's a hilarious mix. Instead of any mane six she takes none other than Prince Blue Blood. As you can image it made everything chaos at the sun celebration. Overall it was really funny and definitely a good read.
