Gold honoree in the 2017 Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards.

Max Bowman has female problems. Specifically, three beautiful, rich daughters of three powerful and influential men—all of them with their own secret agendas. Unfortunately, Max doesn’t know which one to trust or which way to turn, because a vicious killer is hot on his heels. And the most perplexing thing about this psychopath is that he isn’t after Max himself—but everyone he knows and loves.

From New York City to Miami, from Washington D.C. to Sedona, Arizona, Max is on the run. And that’s not easy when you have two broken toes.

Third installment of the award-winning Max Bowman series.

Another winner from Joel!

What a great book! Once again Max Bowman is out to save the day in his own style, with humor on the side. I am a little upset at the ending as now we have to wait to see what happens! Will be looking forward to reading it.

Being the third instalment in a series, it would have been great to read the previous two novels, but RED EARTH could, without a doubt, still stand well on its own. The titular character of the series, Max Bowman felt like a familiar character – like an older, bitter but equally witty Percy Jackson, or a younger, jaded and more foolish Dumbledore. He was easy to relate and far easier to like. His narration gave the novel a perfect dose of humor to balance the action-packed scenes and the occasional gory details. It is not easy to write a good action and adventure story with humor incorporated perfectly.

I really liked this book, read it as a stand-alone story and would be happy to read the follow up or the previous two books. Max is being controlled by so many people, women who seem oddly interested in him and men who either want to kill all his friends and ruin his life or bring him into their family circle. I think the end is appropriate, it's time he got some retribution, payback for all he has lost. Red Earth was a bit of a red herring after the other colour related themes and carries on the humour running throughout the book.

Misspellings

Stationary for stationery.
Insure for ensure.
t-shirt for T-shirt (so called because, when laid flat they are T not t shaped)
Annoyingly, this story doesn't end with this book, it ends with a cliff-hanger and an invitation to buy another book to find out what happens next.

I feel like the author be running out of steam. without spoilers all I can say is I'm disappointed in the plot developments: they feel lazy and cliche-even moreso than in Blue Fire.

The inner monologue, though, is still easily worth the read!

Crazy good read

Story line is good. Plot has a coupe of twists that make it interesting. I never knewthay the "f" word could be used soon many times in so many ways. Other than that,it essd. Good read. I never even expected the outcome. Refit for fun.🐰🐰

Red Earth

This writer has an affinity to profane that which many hold sacred and also to profusely drop f-bombs. Not for me.

A thrilling read. I like books that actually tell a story and not padding it with gratuitous sex and violence - this book fits that ethos.
