I usually can't stand it when a series has between-book novellas, but this series has made it one of my favorite aspects of the story. My understanding of the history of the world and characters grow with every individual story, which is exactly what a novella should do. I look forward to seeing what character stories we get in the next origin chapter!
I fell in love with the main characters from these stories during the main books of the series, so enjoyed learning more about their pasts in these tales. The stories in this collection make a great addition to the series, as well as being entertaining reads in their own right.
If you love this series like I do, you must read the addendum books to the main ones that gives you more insight of your favorite characters! In fact I recommend reading these books as it will help you understand why a character behaves the way they do.
