I devoured this collection of short stories like a bag full of potato chips. Yep, they are that good! The authors have a real talent for stringing words together...really topnotch writing. Many of the stories have scientific or political themes. Almost all of them have a healthy dose of irony to them. Oddly enough, my favorite story has none of the above. In the story, “Runaway,” a woman escaping an abusive partner retreats to the wilderness. She has no experience living off the land; however, she has one thing going for her—she’s determined! Though there are many relatable characters in these stories, for me, she is the best. I am sure I will be returning to this book to reread this story along with my other favorites.
