Immerse yourself in three full length romantic women’s fiction novels from some of the most beloved authors in the genre – more than 800 pages of emotionally uplifting, heartfelt family drama—where falling in love is only part of the story…

ALASKAN DAWN – By Edie Claire

Overachieving attorney Haley Olson has always done the responsible thing. So when her twin sister Micah needs a surrogate mother, Haley willingly volunteers. Like most feats the capable workaholic attempts, her pregnancy goes perfectly... until the results of prenatal testing threaten to tear Micah’s marriage apart.

Pregnant, overworked, and driven to the end of her rope by the neediness of the sister and widowed mother who depend on her, Haley seeks refuge with a week’s vacation on the Alaskan coast. As she soaks up the serenity of the unexpectedly vast and beautiful wilderness, Haley finds something else she doesn’t expect -- deep feelings for the wildlife-loving boat captain who reminds her how to laugh.

With her unborn niece or nephew on the way and thousands of miles of ocean between their lives and careers, Haley and Ben settle for a friendship. But back home in California, the emptiness in her heart refuses to heal, and when her pregnancy takes a frightening turn Haley must examine what really matters -- and rediscover the childhood dream she never realized she had lost.

THE COLOR OF HEAVEN – by Julianne MacLean

A deeply emotional tale about Sophie Duncan, a successful columnist whose world falls apart after her daughter’s unexpected illness and her husband’s shocking affair. When it seems nothing else could possibly go wrong, her car skids off an icy road and plunges into a frozen lake. There, in the cold dark depths of the water, a profound and extraordinary experience unlocks the surprising secrets from Sophie’s past, and teaches her what it means to truly live...and love.

PULLING HOME – Mary Campisi

It's taken nine years and a cross-country move, but Audra Valentine Wheyton has kept her secrets safe. She's created the perfect a husband who loves her, a daughter she adores, and a position as head writer for an award-winning daytime soap. When her husband dies suddenly, Audra returns to her hometown for the funeral and faces a community that has not forgotten her meager beginnings and the man who has never forgiven her for marrying his brother.

Jack Wheyton is a successful pediatric neurosurgeon who is about to become engaged when Audra walks back into his life with her daughter. He forgave his brother long ago for taking something that had been his, something he hadn't even realized he wanted until it was gone. But forgiving Audra is another story...and forgetting her? Near impossible.

When a shattering illness strikes Audra's daughter, she turns to Jack to save her child and risks exposing a secret that will change their lives forever.

SPRING RAIN was an amazing and wonderful read. Julianne MacLean always amazes and entertains me with her fabulous creativity in writing. Imagine my joy when I realized that Edie Claire's talented writing could transport me to the scenic wilderness of Alaska.
The main characters in all three stories are well developed and realistic and most are very likeable.
There are several common threads in these three novels besides romance - coming of age, first loves, babies, sickness, travel, secrets and surprises. Each book has lots of twists and turns. The story lines are very different from each other.
I highly recommend this anthology of three novels - ALASKAN DAWN by Edie Claire, THE COLOR OF HEAVEN by Julianne MacLean and PULLING HOME by Mary Campisi. 5*****

Special thanks to Julianne MacLean for giving me the opportunity and pleasure to read SPRING RAIN:THREE ROMANTIC WOMEN'S FICTION NOVELS in exchange for an honest review.

Only in the darkest hours do we understand how strong we really are.

There were moments were I felt my heart being ripped out of my chest. Spring Rain brought out an abundance of tears, but it also rained down the inspiring message of faith. Julianne Maclean, Edie Claire and Mary Campisi delivered a wake up call. Life happens. It can be beautiful or tragic, but as fleeting as a summer breeze. The surprising twists and the memories we make are but a piece of that cycle. Time is precious. Appreciate every moment. The emotion runs deep and the wisdom equally powerful.

Spring Rain is a collection of three totally unique stories that are united by similar themes. They are all compulsive reads and each delightful in their different ways. I loved each story and can highly recommend Spring Rain to warm your heart and speak to your soul.
Pulling Home by Mary Campisi is a contemporary romance which will have the reader immersed from the start. It is a tale of selfless love. A love that makes sacrifices to protect those around. A love that spans the years. A love that never dies.
The novel has its secrets. Secrets that slowly unravel for both the characters and the reader. "Sooner or later the truth comes out." The secrets were meant to protect. The truth may hurt but it needs to come out.
There is the topic of gossip within the story. "Dirt sells, whether it is true or not." Gossip is wrong. Gossip has the power to destroy lives. "Idle chit chat ruins lives." Mary Campisi shows how gossip needs to be stopped in its tracks.
The themes of identity and appearance are present in the novel. We all need to know who we are and where we come from. Sometimes our identity can mean the difference between life and death. Appearances may lie. We show one face to the world but underneath we are someone entirely different.
The novel deals with grief and loss. "Time passes and wounds heal... It doesn't mean a person ever forgets." Grief never leaves. One just has to get used to a new 'normal.'
Forgiveness is another theme. Sometimes it means forgiving others. Sometimes it means forgiving ourselves which is harder to do.
Families are complicated. Families have fall outs but are bound by love. Families are loyal, and love and protect their members.
Pulling Home was a compulsive read. I could not put it down. I became immersed in the action and the lives of the characters. The plotline was intricate and well thought out. The characters were likable and realistic. I really loved Pulling Home. There were several 'bedroom' scenes which were not to my taste but they in no way detracted from the story, I just skipped over them.
An intricate, well written, well thought out compulsive read.
Alaskan Dawn by Edie Claire is a delightful contemporary romance. Mainly set in Alaska, the breathtakingly beautiful area comes alive with Edie Claire's detailed descriptions. There is no need for a passport as the reader can travel safely from the confines of an armchair and see orcha whales, grizzly bears etc. The reader becomes totally immersed in the area and begs that it remains unchanged.
With the themes of friendship and selfless love, the reader immediately warms to the characters. The topic of surrogacy was sensitively presented. Lead character Haley demonstrated unending love for both her sister and her mother as she took on the role of their rock and provider.
I absolutely adored Alaskan Dawn. It was my first novel by Edie Claire but I want to read more by her. I am also looking forward to the continuing story in subsequent novels.
A wonderful story.
The Color Of Heaven by Julianne MacLean is a contemporary love story and incredibly beautiful. I loved it. Books entertain. Books educate. And once in a while a book comes along that is so incredibly beautiful that it takes your breath away. The Color Of Heaven is that book. As soon as it began, I was hooked.
"Then you see a light... You are no longer afraid and you know what lies ahead" was an intriguing opening. I immediately was hooked and wanted to know more. I was further drawn into the book by the hook "I'll leave it up to you to decide if they're [the events] real."
The story is a love story. In fact it is several love stories. Love stories between couples and between parents and children. The whole book radiates love.
It is not all happiness though. Life happens and life hurts. "I knew the old 'normal' would never exist for us again." The novel deals with loss. A loss that is so painful that it is denied, confined to the recesses of the mind. Grief is sensitively portrayed by Julianne MacLean and in its sensitivity there is great beauty.
The novel also has the theme of hope and resilience. "You keep fighting every day, and sooner or later, the grief fades a little." Grief never departs, you just have to find your way and take your time to work through it.
The Color Of Heaven was written in the first person from two points of view and as such, the reader becomes intimately acquainted with the characters. We celebrate the joys, we mourn the losses.
The Color Of Heaven was a most beautiful book. It was so much more than just a story. It felt like the narrative of a friend and it penetrated my soul.
Breathtakingly beautiful and unique. I loved it.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Spring Rain is a wonderful book to curl up and read on a rainy spring day. The stories remind us of a strong sense of renewal and hope that follows a spring rain. Touching romance at its best.

The theme of second chances was obvious as the common thread in this anthology. Each author brings a different perspective to make this book worth the read. Mild spoilers in Julianne MacLean novella, The Color of Heaven, but in my opinion not so serious as to hide this review.

Spring Rain
--Alaskan Dawn, Edie Claire
An interesting romance where the main characters can only go so far in their attraction for each other due to somewhat unusual circumstances. Some of those circumstances are actually common in romances, such as wildly divergent lifestyles and extreme distance inherent in their lives. I think Ben is the most appealing hero I have seen in a while. It is amazing that I decided to sign up for this iBooks review because it was like kismet. I am an environmentalist and dedicated my entire adult life to working for the USEPA. Now retired, I still care very much about what is happening to our ecosystems, what man is doing to earth that cannot be undone. So Edie Claire becomes a writer I will have to add to my already huge number of favorites. Her writing is clean, her knowledge of her locations appears to be steeped in visits there and her "message" is measured enough to not appear one sided or sensational. I highly recommend this read.

The Color of Heaven, Julianne MacLean
Now I am wondering even more why I saw the ibook availability of “Spring Rain”, an anthology containing two novellas that seem destined for me to review. This second novella was meant for me, too. Some slight spoilers here. I am not crazy about first person narrative but was still caught up in the story of Sophie, Megan then Cora and her loves. This is not a traditional romance but not to worry. Romance readers will still love the originality and other worldly nature of this book. Curious that I am a believer in near death and don't even have to suspend my disbelief. My brother has read thousands of near death experiences from all over the world, from all walks of life, from the young to the aged, from believers and atheists. He talks to me about this all the time so I know so much about this subject. There is a common theme throughout all of them and there is no way you cannot believe after you have heard how connected the stories are to each other. Yes, the real NDE's backgrounds and their own personal beliefs make each story a little different, but the common thread is obvious. It was obvious to me that MacLean has read some of these stories and did quite a bit of research into near death. Her description of what the character experienced and her knowledge of what was happening while she was dead is spot on with real near death experiences. I highly recommend this read and am going to look for all of MacLean's “Color of” books.
…........
Pulling Home, Mary Campisi
Interesting premise for this book. A soap opera inside a soap opera. The characters are believable more or less, but in today's world they seemed a bit old fashioned and all of them more flawed outside the norm. The story is well written, though, and I enjoyed it. Just be prepared for more soap opera than reality.

Alaskan Dawn:

Even more than a sweet love story, this was a story about growth and becoming your own person. Haley's life seemed to have centered around her sister, and I was so happy to see that she was going to do something for herself. The author did a lovely job of slowly working with Haley's character growth. I don't like it when authors rush through, it feels unrealistic. Haley had real-life trials, bumps, and good times that allowed her to see that she really could live her own life. And Ben.....having Ben in this storyline was like icing on the cake! He was a welcome edition to the storyline.

The Color of Heaven:

This story touched my heart in so many ways. It was filled with so much emotion right from the start and immediately pulled me into the storyline. I felt connected at some level to each and every character, and found myself reading as fast as I could. In fact, I read it in one sitting. Be advised, there are a lot of heart wrenching scenes, which were written beautifully by the way, but there were also some good moments that made you smile. I can not imagine what it must have been like to write this story. Sophie is a powerful character that will make you feel like you are living the story with her. You will enjoy Sophie's journey, as long as you have a box of tissues nearby!

Pulling Home:

This story was full of twists and turns and had me on my toes! There was a lot going on, and honestly I did feel a little overwhelmed at times. There were certain parts between Jack and Audra that didn't make sense to me, but then the ending came I completely understood. So if you find yourself reading and a bit confused, just keep going. It'll all come together in the end! I should note there are a few scenes in this story that are sexual in nature and I was not expecting at all. However, if you skip over these sections I do not feel like it takes away from the storyline. Overall it was a good story, and I would like to see more from these characters in the future.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Three amazing stories by three equally amazing authors.
Edie Claire's "Alaska Dawn" takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of family obligations, selflessness, and fulfillment. Haley and Ben's story is heartfelt. The ups and downs, twists and turns, and finally smooth sailing are all interesting to witness and experience through this romantic story. The scenic settings of the story makes you want to visit all the locations. From Alaska, to Hawaii, to California all the locations are beautiful in different ways.
Julianne MacLean's "The Color of Heaven" is a dynamic generational family story. Sofie's life was everything she had dreamed it could be, until it wasn't. Trying to move on while grieving she is faced with some hard decisions. Sophie's understanding of her mother's story helps her move on with her life. Heaven on earth, faith in what happens after death, and miracle's make up the fabric of this wonderful story.
Mary Campisi's "Pulling Home" is another family centered story set in small town. All the traditional small town elements are there: everyone knows everyone's business, social standing, right and wrong side of the tracks, churches, and stereotypes about each of them. I just kept thinking, you can't make this stuff up, reality is better than someone's imagination. Then I realize it really is someone's imagination. I loved all three stories. Great collection.

Her is a book with THREE wonderful stories that have a theme of strong women getting a second chance.
In ALASKAN DAWN, we meet a twin helping our get sister. However, the pressure she is under starts to weight her down. When an unexpected gift lands in her lap Hailey goes to Alaska. There she meets someone who makes her think twice about who and what she is. Ben is a Naturalist, he loves the outdoors and wildlife, mostly marine wildlife. As these two explore Alaska, they get close but Hailey doesn't want to impose on Ben since she is helping her sister.
Once Ben realised what is going on he decided to just be friends. With this thought in mind the two become pin pals. When all's said and done you have a great love story that brings family, loyalty, and true love all together.

In COLOR OF HEAVEN, we meet a woman that experiences lost love and child. Sophie and Michael had a great love and then had a child. All was as if should be until their child got diagnosed with Leukemia. You really learn what love is when your child is sick and if all is right in the world of just your world. To say more would give to much of the story away and that would be wrong and an injustice. This story is so powerful in its meaning. I read this book as an advanced readers review and loved it so much. I reread it for this review and found so much more. How our lives are intertwined and those we can count on. I cried, laughed, and was rooting for all to work out in the end.

If you read this guitar book in the series you will want to read all them. This series has been one of my all time favorites.

In PULLING HOME, we again meet a misunderstood, loving, and strong woman that doesn't want anyone hurt in her family. With secrets and lies all around, here is one person willing to let other degrade her name to protect her family.
After her child is diagnosed with a rare disease Audra turns to her brother in law, Jack, for his help. Lies is the light in the family, the only child of an only child as well as the only grandchild. Lies brings the family together after her "father's" death and her illness.
A lot can be learned from soap operas and how they mimic real life issues. To understand more read this compelling and intriguing booj.

Alaskan Dawn -
A story of unselfish love for family, doing the right thing was never a question for Haley Olsen until she lost sight of who she really was. It took a pregnancy a week in Alaska to rediscover what she was missing. I thoroughly loved this story would read it again, definitely a keeper.

The Color of Heaven-
This is such a Kleenex worthy emotional read Julianne MacLean reached out ripped my heart out slowly, then proceeded to put it back with love. The heart really can take a beating and still have enough to love and start over. A powerful home run story Julianne MacLean has a winner of epic proportions!

Pulling Home-
A story of betrayal second chances and life altering decisions that have forever consequences. Finding the strength to go on once secrets have been revealed. Once again a story that will pull your heartstrings
Mary Campisi will forever steal your heart with her emotional stories of love.
A five star collection of best selling authors in one boxed set!

Spring Rain Anthology contains three stories by Edie Claire, Julianne MacLean & Mary Campisi. Love is at the center f each of these stories but romantic love did not take center stage every time. Because of that I would consider these stories to be more women’s fiction that simply romance. All three stories give you pause for thought. While all unique to the author’s individuality, the anthology is a mix of love, friends and family, heartbreaking sorrow and heartwarming joy, seriousness and humor, forgiveness and grace with the possibility of second chances in this fragile wonderful thing called life.
Alaskan Dawn by Edie Claire has such beautiful style and imagery you believe that you have been to Alaska.

Julianne MacLean's Color of Heaven, the story that started the series is a must read with tissues handy.

Pulling Home by Mary Campisi reminds you that you can go home again, no matter how you have changed or how different home is now.

4.5 Stars
One of the authors gave me an ARC of the anthology.

A perfect collection of three beautifully written romantic stories by some of my favorite authors Edie Claire writes a heartfelt story of a family coming together and rediscovering each other and themselves. Julianne MacLean writing another satisfying story of love and living life to the fullest. Mary Campisi adds to the mix in a story that plays with our emotions and the interplay of family. A perfect combination of three amazing writers and the promise that spring can heal our hearts. Loved the stories, love the writing! An honest review written I exchange for an advance reading of this title prior to publication.

Three emotional stories. I was new to 2 of the 3 authors. The first story has beautiful imagery. I felt like I was in Alaska with the characters. I was very frustrated with Haley's mother and sister. I liked Ben from the beginning. Ben and Haley were great characters and I enjoyed their story.
The next story was my favorite. This is a clean romance that tells the story of life and love.
The last story I had a harder time with. I did not enjoy the characters as much. I didn't enjoy that it wasn't a clean romance.

I received Julianne MacLean's story from this book as an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it. First off, the cover art is beautiful. Julianne's story held me from the first page and I loved every bit of it. When I review I am always cautious to try and not be repetitive. But I cannot help it in the case of Julianne MacLean's stories. It is 5 stars from me again and deservedly so.

Spring Rain - I loved this story! It captured me from the first page. The characters are described well and their thoughts, connections, and relationships are very well laid out. The storyline kept me glued to the book. I never wanted to put the book down. There were times the story made me chuckle, a a couple times it made my eyes swell with tears. I liked the way that real places were incorporated into the book and real-type scenarios were throughout the book. The only part a little of a let down was that 3/4 of the way through the book it jumped to the end, then after a few pages it flipped back to the middle, to fill the reader in on the story. Then it ended. I wasn't ready for the story to end. However, on the bright side, the main characters that the book centered around are going to be in future books according to the epilogue... so while I am already a huge Julianne MacLean fan, I will definitely be reading more of her books!

This is a wonderful anthology that added yet another author from which I now want to read more.

Alaskan Dawn: (5/5) Wonderful and fun story. I loved the characters, the storyline, and the magnificent places where it took place. I could see in my head what was described in the story. I will definitely read more by Edie Claire, especially in this series.

The Color of Heaven: (5/5) One of my all time favorite books. It’s moving, and magical, and definitely a story you don’t want to miss! I’ve already read the whole series and look forward to the next one by Julianne MacLean!

Pulling Home: (4/5) It started out good, but then seemed to drag on a bit. I wasn’t surprised by any of the twists and it didn’t flow as nicely as the other stories. But it was still worth the read.

This book kept me reading long after I should have turned out the lights. I think the first one, Alaskan Dawn, was my favorite. Made me want to visit Alaska. The second one, The Color of Heaven, made me contemplate life. Wouldn't we all love to talk to the people who have gone on before us? The third one, Pulling Home, was a heart wrenching, can't put it down read. When your child is sick, you'll do anything and ask anyone to help. All three of these books are great. The action keeps moving and the characters are great. Thanks ladies for a great read. I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. The review stated is my own.

Only 2/3 of the way through this anthology set but highly recommend it. Started reading with The Color of Heaven by Julianne MacLean. Honestly, if I would have know the subject matter before starting, I probably would not have read the book. At this time, I prefer to avoid books with death but I am glad that I did read it. The book is a reminder that we should always remain hopefully no matter what life throws your way and there was much joy in the book.

Next I read Alaskan Dawn by Edie Claire. Was curious to read the story of Haley and Ben. What happens when throw together a stressed out lawyer and a nomadic oceanographer along with some bears. Can they find true love? Turns out when it is meant to be, love will find a way.

Will post an update after I get the third book read. I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review.

This collection contains very diverse stories. Alaska Dawn features Haley Olson, a young woman burdened with the task of of emotionally supporting her very needy mother and twin sister. The pressure and clinging is intensified when she becomes a surrogate for her sister and brother-in-law and the law firm for which she works assigns her to a difficult case for a big client. Needing to escape the pressure, Haley takes a spur of the moment trip to Alaska to visit property that she and her sister had recently inherited. In fleeing from home, Haley may have discovered exactly what she needs.

The Color Of Heaven is different from other novels I have read in that the story is told not through dialogue, but mainly by a stream of consciousness of the main character, Sophie. Sophie is living what seems to be a charmed life until tragedy strikes again and again. Although I was disconcerting at first, I found I could not stop reading. The author put in just enough teasers to keep me hooked, and I found the storyline both surprising and satisfying.
Pulling Home was the story I liked the least. I found the main character Audra a bit vague in her concerns. I also could not sympathize with Jack who seemed to put his physical needs above all else. I was surprised by my reaction because I have read and enjoyed other books by Mary Campisi
I would recommend this book for at least the first two stories. I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an an honest review.

Very few authors touch my heart the way Julainne Maclean does with her stories. The Color of Heaven - one of the stories in this book "Spring Rain" is no different. When you can make this tough New Yorker tear up on a subway ride, that's saying a lot!
I felt as if I were part of Sophie's life from the time she was a little girl, through her teenage years, as she matured into a young woman and finally a woman. All of her struggles, her fears and through her tears I was there with her. Without spoilers, even through tragedy we are drawn into her life.
I haven't read the other stories yet, but I'm sure I will love them as much. Get the tissues ready though, and let these stories touch your heart as much as The Color of Heaven touched mine.

The Color of Heaven will Touch your heart!

I received this book as a ARC, for an honest opinion, on The Color of Heaven.

I've read this book three times now and everytime I've read it, I've cried. You are drawn into the life of the main character right from the start. Julianne tells us Sophie's story, about her life as a young bride and mother, she tells us of Sophie's joys and the sorrows that she experienced, you can't help but be drawn in to her life. This book reminds us of how strong we are, how we can overcome hardships to embrace life and past loves, and sometimes, when we think we are at the darkest, lowest points in our lives, we learn how much we mean to the people that we love and that love us back!

the book is a collection of three stories by three different authors. I knew only one of them beforehand- Julianne Maclean. I loved the two first stories. The first one was a good one, set in Alaska. the author descriptions were beautiful and they made me feel as if I'm in Alaska myself. the story itself was flowing and interesting. The second story is a very clean story about love but also about life and how people must deal with it. As someone who is familiar with Julianne Maclean writing, it is one of her best books. The third book was a bit of a let down. I didn't really like the hero and the love story was very weak and felt based on lust and sex mostly.

While The Color of Heaven by Julianne MacLean is the middle story found in Spring Rain, it is the one I read first. The Color of Heaven is the most beautifully written story I have read in a long time. It is a story of first love, love and marriage, and love lost as well as enduring love. It is a story of great pain and greater joy. The story is told by several of the characters. It is also told by the author using beautifully descriptive words to paint the scenes and feelings so well that one cannot help but love sharing in the tale. I now want to sit down with a stack of Julianne’s books and read and read.

Spring Rain, an anthology of stories by Edie Claire, Julianne Maclean, and Mary Campsi, is a must for anyone who likes to hear the back-story, the details of the past that brought people to the point they are today. Maclean's is particularly poignant with the heroine's trip to heaven to clarify who she is and what her future should be.
These women are a trio of fine storytellers. Not only are the stories uplifting, but they are interesting and full of detail and nuance. There is romance, but there is also depth of character, plenty of detail, and interesting situations.
I highly recommend this book for those days you need positive and interesting interactions with characters in a book.

Three delightful stories to make your day. My favorite and the most powerful novel in the anthology was "The Color of Heaven" by Julianne MacLean. This book is full of love, hope and faith and there isn't much more you can ask for in a romance novel. I really identified with and felt the characters emotions and struggles. I felt such a sense of well being after reading this book, it just put a lot in perspective for me and got me to thinking. When a book leaves you thinking about it long after the first page, you know you found a keeper.

This is a great set of stories. I loved each of them but my favorite was color of heaven. I can't wait to read more in the future from these authors. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

These three novels were well-written and thought provoking. Alaskan Dawn by Edie Claire - Haley is being a surrogate mother for her twin sister, but the demands of her high-powered job and the neediness of her mother and her twin has her nearly at the breaking point. She takes a week's vacation in the Alaskan wilderness where she is surprised to meet a wildlife-loving boat captain who stirs up unexpected feelings in her. The Color of Heaven by Julianne MacLean - Sophie goes through some traumatic experiences, with her daughter becoming ill and discovering her husband was having an affair. Then her car skids off an icy road into a frozen lake. This story made me think and it was hard to put down. I read it in one sitting and would recommend it to others. Pulling Home by Mary Campisi - Audra returns to her hometown for the funeral when her husband passes away. She has to face the community that knew her before she married, and the man who has never forgiven her for marrying his brother. It's about love, loss and life coming full circle. I enjoyed reading this anthology and look forward to reading other books by these authors.
