Or will circumstances beyond her control keep them apart?
The Earth Angel series is a young adult adaptation of The Mystic Series by B.C. Burgess.
B.C. Burgess was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma, fishing from muddy lakes and running barefoot down hot tar roads to climb trees with her friends. Though her roots run deep in the blue-collar neighborhoods of the Midwest, her head stays in the clouds, dreaming of her next adventure. She’s on a mission to travel the world, but when she’s home, she’s an emotional support human to her rescue dog Junebug. She loves her son, her family and her friends, but coffee is her soulmate. B.C. spent nearly two decades submerged in the world of fantasy, creating the magical tapestry of the Mystic Series, and she now looks forward to sharing the journey with you.

Quin and Layla are quickly learning how much they need each other. Layla is also meeting her family as well as joining her families coven. Yet Layla is still in so much danger, but right now, no matter how unusual it all feels Layla is thrilled to finally have a connection.
1.5/5 This was by far the worst book of the first three I’ve read, sure it’s mainly about the coven, but what’s the point in interesting us about Agro when there’s about 3 chapters of this book with him. The characters from back home were mentioned maybe twice, so little I can’t even remember their names. This felt as if she forgot there was a villain at all, which is rather disappointing. The conversation is also rather spiffy and lastly the world building was just mediocre, you really only see the same places. The love is awkward but manageable.
I like the cast of characters being introduced and the background explained. The picture in my head is becoming more vivid. This is definitely not a stand-alone book. If you have read 1&2, you will be lost. This book ended very abruptly, which I hate. Nothing was concluded or discovered that left you satisfied or super curious to jump into book 4. The story just stopped.
Not as good as The Ring, simply because I didn't feel as emotionally invested. Almost like this book was a filler and a way to introduce people. That being said, it was still incredibly well written and I'm excited to continue this journey with Layla 💖
I'm still enjoying the story following Layla but the back and forth between her and Quinlan is a bit much. It goes on and on about how much they care foreach other, I find myself skipping sections.
