The world is a scary place. Listening to the news, hearing a bad diagnosis from a doctor, an auto accident or any number of other things can make you want to go and bury your head in the sand. But this need not be! You can stand firm in the face of anything when you learn the secret revealed in Unshaken. The secret is learning how to pray. Not just a "Lord, help me " prayer, but prayers that speak the words and promises of God back to him, and are powerful and effective.

There are so many things I do for my children, but, there is nothing more valuable in my opinion, than having the opportunity to pray for them. I am so thankful a friend invited me to a "Moms in Prayer" group when my children started school. Praying with other mamas...for an hour...once a week...for our children has truly impacted my life and the lives of my children. This book is all about Moms in Prayer, how to begin a prayer life for your children, and how to live Unshaken in this world. Packed with scriptures and how to pray those scriptures over your children as well as lots of testimonies and encouragement...5 stars all the way!

I rarely say that a book is a must read for everyone but this one is a must read for everyone. Everyone!
From the captivating introduction, where one of the authors shares how her husband, an engineer for NASA, came home one day announcing that he had accepted Jesus into his heart and how that impacted their family and all the way through the heartfelt testimonies that close out the book, you will not be disappointed.
Scripturally based, full of valuable information, and obviously written with care for the reader it is a work that anyone wanting to enrich their prayer life should have.

Very relatable author who presents each aspect of prayer in an easy to understand way. The book is divided into 4 sections: embracing the unshaken invitation; praying for an unshaken foundation where she goes into praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession; praying with power and peace where she talks about praying scripture, requests for your self, taking on fears through prayer and waiting on God; in the last part she gives stories of prayer inspiration that inspire the reader to see the power of prayer. This book is great for a new believer and those wanting to learn more about prayer. Not as in-depth and theological as some other books on prayer but it does have a wealth of helpful information. I found in incredibly easy to follow and understand. We all need to learn to pray better.

Don’t read this book ~ PRAY THIS BOOK!
UNSHAKEN is no ordinary book – I prayed as I read through this book, I prayed the Scriptures, I praised God through the powerful testimonies of answered prayer. I encourage you to read UNSHAKEN in coordination with a Moms in Prayer group, and practice the 4 steps of prayer out loud (praise, confession, thanksgiving, intercession). If there is not a Moms in Prayer group at your child’s or grandchild’s school, start one! Find one other mom or grandma and see what God will do! You can read this book by yourself, as a group, or do the study guide.
This book has emboldened me to pray powerful prayers. God wants to transform us from feeling shaken to becoming UNSHAKEN, when we realize God is EAGER to answer our prayers. We only need to ask! I love this quote: “When we work, we work, but when we pray, GOD works.” Don’t just read about prayer – learn to pray by praying with other moms!
Prayer is not to be our last resort, it is to be our first response! Instead of worrying about something you have no control over, PRAY! This book is teaching me to pray God’s words back to Him, to claim a verse and put my name or my child’s name in it. When we pray the scriptures, we are always asking according to God’s will. 1 John 5:14-15 says 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
In God’s timing, the answer is always YES when we pray His will. You can be assured of His answer, because God’s Word never comes back void and it always fulfills His purpose and plan. See Isaiah 55:10-11: 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
If God is calling you to do something new or different where you clearly hear Him saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21), then He will take care of all the details. Last year I knew God was calling me to step out in faith and start a Moms in Prayer group at our school. My youngest was entering Kindergarten and I was longing to pray for her, the teachers and school with other like-minded moms. God is answering prayers, AND He is growing ME, and giving me a heart to equip other moms in my “territory” toward the goal of every school being covered in prayer. Prayer makes a difference, I truly believe that.
The power of this book, UNSHAKEN, is in the scriptures, stories, and changed lives on every page. The power is through PRAYER. Before receiving the book Unshaken I had high expectations of the book.Being a member of the Moms In Prayer Ministry I knew this book would help solidify my current prayer life and help build up the areas in my life that I was in need of some hope.
Reading the Unshaken book my high expectations concerning the use of the word of God was met.For instance the scriptures used to pray fortified some areas in my prayer life that I wasn’t feeling confident.Backed up by the testimonials helped build my expectancy in those areas as well.
One of the things I immediately began to do while reading the book was add the scriptures listed in the book to my personal prayer journal in the form of prayers.I also added the date I added the prayer in my journal along with a space to add the date God answered my prayer.
The Unshaken book is definitely a book to read, give as a gift to a mother, grandmother or anyone looking to strengthen and solidify their prayer life with the true and living God.

This book is not just for moms! Anyone who wants to build a powerful prayer life should consider reading this. I have been praying with Moms in Prayer groups for 16 years and after reading this book, I have a much deeper and richer understanding of the four steps of prayer that I have been using. I was also really encouraged by the stories from around the globe. This book has helped me focus on the promise of Psalm 16:8, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” I am excited to see how my prayer life will transform to be fuller and more closely aligned with God's will. This is going to be a book that I keep coming back to!

This is such a wonderfully enlightening book! By joining and co-leading a MIPI group several years ago, I really became a student of prayer. This book walks you through the 4 steps of prayer and just helps you get so much more out of your prayer life. Having a faith that stands unshaken in this world is a prayer of mine. I think this book does such an amazing job through stories, scripture, prayer outlines and testimonies. I read some of the testimonies and just stood in awe of our amazing God. Praying for yourself and your children and those who impact our loved ones lives is so important. I tell you, I want to commit to heart every bit of scripture noted in this book. It is so valuable, and I believe will truly help each one of us stand unshaken in our walk with the Lord. This book is so encouraging. It is well written and lovely. I implore you to read it. If you are a mom, a grandmother, even a father. Join other prayers as we go to battle against the spiritual forces of evil in our lives.

Encouraging and Empowering! In reading this book, I was hoping to find inspiration to go deeper in my relationship, in general, with the Lord -but specifically, in my prayer life.
I love that it contains both heart-wrenching testimonies (you will need a tissue!) and sample prayers. If you aren’t yet involved in Moms in Prayer, you’ll be inspired to find a group (or start your own!) If you are, you’ll be inspired to continue in this important work, encouraged by the evidence of its power, and steadied in your commitment to #PrayUnshaken! I have certainly been inspired to redouble my efforts to create a group for our school/district.
Although our children and their educators are the primary focus of Moms in Prayer International, the four steps to prayer, outlined in this book, are not just for our schools. They are powerful, effective weapons for every area of life. Incorporating them into my personal prayer life is encouraging me, strengthening my prayers and allowing me to #PrayUnshaken! When I saw a new book about prayer written by a few of the women behind Moms in Prayer (MIP) International/prayer ministries, I knew that it would be sound. I knew that it would be grounded in the truth of God’s word. That it would be helpful. That it would be practical. The MIP 4-steps of prayer have been transformational in my own prayer life and I knew it could and would make a difference in the prayer lives of so many other women. As I read it, I enjoyed the true stories of how women pressed on and pressed in to prayer. “Unshaken” reinforced so many of the truths I know about prayer and encouraged me to continue to be faithful in prayer, as we press on toward the goal. Great read!

As this book states, prayer is not simply an invitation to action, it's an invitation to a "Way of Life!" This book will equip you to "stand unshaken in an shaken world." Through the 4-steps of prayer: Praise, Confession, Thanksgiving and Confession, your personal prayer life will be strengthened, your faith will be increased and strengthened and your will experience Jesus in profound and beautiful ways. This book gives encouragement for when the storms in life (stress, sickness, finances, strife) sail in, so that we can remain unshaken, living in God's peace and love.

As someone who has progressed from having a hard time filling up five minutes of prayer, to being involved in several prayer groups and finding our time too short, this book is a great way to strengthen your prayer life. I was introduced to the concepts in this book when invited to join Mom’s in Prayer a few years ago. It was my second foray into corporate prayer. This book explains in detail how to prepare yourself for prayer through praise and confession, how to remember God’s goodness through thanksgiving, and finally, how to intercede on behalf of your family, friends, schools, teachers, neighbors, yourself and even strangers in pain. Encourage stories will help you with God’s timing on answering prayer, and the surprising way he answers sometimes. I especially like the part about praying God’s word. I found a new verse to pray over my lost loved ones: Joel 2:12-13. When we pray God’s word, we are absolutely certain we are praying in his will, and therefore we need only wait expectantly for his answer.

Over the years, I have read many Christian living books, and several of those have been about prayer. I picked up "Unshaken" expecting it to be good, but I also expected that I would know a lot of what was in the book. I have to say, "Unshaken" surpassed my expectations and has helped me in my prayer life.
The biblical truth and the inspirational stories contained in the book are an encouragement to live a life that is unshaken. It has reminded me to pray instead of worry and that alone is worth the price of the book.
Some women may be checking out this book because of their affiliation with a Moms in Prayer group. It is certainly not a requirement to even know anything about Moms in Prayer to start reading this book. And even if you have been a member for a long time, it is well worth the time to read. Even as a Moms in Prayer leader for many years, I learned new things and was able to approach prayer with a renewed perspective.

Mom's need prayer, moms need to be in prayer, and this is a great resource for both. Unshaken is both practical and encouraging, filled with biblical wisdom and examples of the power of prayer in the lives of real women. I particularly appreciated the focus on the prayer life rather than the problems of child rearing-whatever the circumstance, whatever the season of childhood, praying effectively is key. Unshaken helps moms develop a healthy way to pray for their kids both alone and in the corporate setting. Mom's, look for a Mom's in Prayer group near you and pick up a copy of Unshaken today.

This book is filled with practical tools and personal stories that helped me to learn about praying according to God's will using scripture and how praying really does change things.
Sally and Cyndie guide readers to pray boldly with strong faith using a very simple and easy to use format. Using the 4-step prayer method of praise/adoration, forgiveness/confession, thanksgiving, and intercession, with scripture, readers are equipped to pray in any situation at any time.
Sally and Cyndie also provide many scriptures throughout the book, the verse or verses written out with references, to pray back to God. Scriptures are given for each of the four steps so that readers are assured that their prayers are always in accordance with God's will.
Throughout Unshaken, the authors offer personal stories and real-life examples of how prayer has changed many lives and circumstances. I found these very encouraging, showing me that praying really does make a difference.
While the circumstances of life around us may cause us to feel discouraged, fearful, and weak, reading Unshaken will give readers hope, encouragement, and strength. Throughout Unshaken, the authors offer personal stories and real-life examples of how prayer has changed many lives and circumstances. I found these very encouraging, showing me that praying really does make a difference.
While the circumstances of life around us may cause us to feel discouraged, fearful, and weak, reading Unshaken will give readers hope, encouragement, and strength. With strong faith, readers will know that God is able to change lives and situations, and He can be trusted to keep our families, our lives, and our futures secure.
At the front of the book, Psalm 16:8 is quoted: "I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." Unshaken gives hope to remain unshaken during life's storms, and truth to pray with firm faith.

I will be reading Unshaken again and again. It is a must-read. I joyfully and wholeheartedly recommend Unshaken.

Prayer Life Changer
Unshaken: Experience the Power and Peace of a Life of Prayer is a must-read for the praying Christian. I found myself underlining many portions of the book and feeling like I was seeing the quoted Bible verses through different eyes. Unshaken helped me to discover how to transform my prayers to make me feel close to God and to lead me to a place of reassured faith. I will turn to this book again and again when I feel my prayer life wavering or in need of refreshing.

I just finished reading Unshaken: Experience the Power and Peace of a Life of Prayer and I really enjoyed it! I LOVE reading stories of how God has answered prayers above and beyond what anyone could imagine. It gives me the goosebumps every time I read how amazing God is. He TRULY cares for each one of us.
This book also talks about the 4 steps of prayer that is used in Moms In Prayer groups - Praise, Confession, Thanksgiving and Intercession! "Prayer is not simply an invitation to action; it's the the invitation to a way of life. Each of the four steps of prayer is life-changing. You can become a woman of praise, of confession, of thanksgiving, and of intercession, resulting in being a woman who stands unshaken in this shaken world. This book has changed the way I pray for my son. I had never heard of Moms in Prayer International before reading this book and I am so happy I have been introduced to this organization. The prayer strategy in this book has turned my prayer life around. The stories in this book are both encouraging and powerful. I wasn’t sure what to expect upon receiving the book, but because of my connection with Moms in Prayer, I figured it would be a good read. As I dove into reading the book, I found myself unable to put it down. It made me feel blessed and inspired me to pump up my personal prayer life. Reading the stories and testimonies of these inspirational women has prompted me to pray more, looking for God to move in awesome ways, even through the little things. The book has also inspired me to pray about taking on more of a leadership role with Moms in Prayer, and getting more women involved in praying for their children, their families, and their schools. My life has been challenged and changed, showing me that I can live UNSHAKEN in an unstable world.
