Its good to finally meet the whole Fang Gang, I've waited for awhile to finally meet them all.. I love that I finally get to see how crazy the Fang Gangs are w/ their pranks especially w/ Blaise ..
Searc and Jessie coincides to Bhaltair and Meena's story too..
As the story goes, it may seem that the The Corporation are getting bolder and bolder by being able to get near the girls.. As for the lead females, they seem to get stronger and stronger and that's one of the reasons why I love this series.. The ladies are not a damsel in distress and can fight on their own.. 🙆🙆
Another good story in the Immortal Universal Ops 👏👏
Title: Expecting Darkness Series: Crimson Ops Book 2 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Mandy M. Roth Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ ••••••••••••••••• Gosh I just love reading Ms. Mandy's books I guess that's why I've read them all the mystery, the adventure, the action packed oh my gosh it's just unbelievable. I could go on and on. You take my word for it read some of her series. Searc McLeod is a Immortal Vampire who is a special opertive with the Paranormal Security and Intelligence's "Fang Gang". Something woke him but what? Why sdoes he feel like he has the biggest hangover of all hangovers that he has ever had, he's centuries-old. What woke him up? He got off the plane and he headed home but he doesn't remember getting home or taking his clothes off. How can that be? Something is wrong it has to be Jessie Buchanan who is the daughter of Searc's maker. But when he called Cormag his maker he told him to leave her alone never to go near her he didn't want anyone near her, Searc insisted Cormag call his second, Islay to make sure, which he did, then said everything was okay she was fine sleeping. Searc thought he was just being crazy and went back to sleep. Something was off, what was It? Was Jessie safe? A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Searc Macleod is a special operative for the PSI = the Paranormal Security & Intelligence agency. His Sire is a master vampire by the name of Corman Buchanan. Searc has alway been protective of his makers only daughter Jessie but for years now he has felt a pull to her. Jessie is one of the girls created in the Asia project when a group stole supernatural DNA to create these babys but they are grown up and in even more danger. Now jessie is in danger and only Searc can protect her. I LOVE this story. The whole series is great. The mystery, intrigue, action and drama are fantastic or should I say fang-tastic! The characters are amazing , bad a**, and funny. I LOVE the interaction between them. It's so funny. If your into shifters, vampires, and supernatural hot agents this this is your new favourite book and series. Don't miss it. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
He’s an immortal vampire operative. She’s caught up in a sinister web of lies and danger. He’s her only chance to not only live but to protect her unborn child. As his mate, she’s his only hope at eternal happiness.
I love love love Mandy M.Roth's books!!!!! She knows how to write and she knows how to gives us all we need and she does it again and again! Action packed with lots of funny moments and lots of Alpha Vampires i have to say that the Fang Gang is becoming my favorite!!!!
In Expecting Darkness we have Searc and Jamies story and it doesn't disappoint at all. Searc is in love with Jamie for as long as he remember and when Jamie is in trouble Searc will go against everything to save her. All Mandy's books are amazing and will hook you up to all her series. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and this is it.
Love this world! Really enjoyed seeing Malik and Boomer and the crossing of the ops. Searc is a wonderful hero and I hope we get to visit again with him and Jessie. Looking forward to more books in the immortal ops world.
OMG I love this series and Expecting Darkness is a terrific addition to the Crimson Ops and Immortal Ops World books. I absolutely loved it...
So okay, I admit it, I'm addicted. I'm totally hooked on all the Immortal Ops World books and 'Expecting Darkness' is another terrific addition to the Crimson Ops series about the PSI Ops 'Fang Gang'. I love Mandy M. Roth's books, I've read 'a lot' of them over the years and never been disappointed. This fantastic story is just as good and worth every single one of the 5 stars I've given it... and then some. I really didn't want to put it down and now I'm waiting impatiently for the next one.
Searc, Vampire and agent of PSI Ops' 'Fang Gang' really shouldn't have been awake. It had been nearing dawn when he'd left his team-mates on the tarmac after their plane touched down, and it was.... still daytime. He'd had less than three hours sleep but he'd jolted awake panic stricken and in full-on protection mode, fangs down and everything, but he couldn't work out why. Then he was struck with a need so overwhelming he almost fell out of bed... no, not that kind of need! The need to 'phone his sire, Clan Chieftan and Master Vampire, Cormag Buchanan...
Jessie Buchanan still can't remember what happened to her during her lost weekend four months ago, but that's when the nightmares started and she's still having them.... She has no idea what's wrong with her, but she knows she needs Searc...
I'm not going to give spoilers but this is a real treat for fans of action packed paranormal romance. It has everything you could possibly want packed between the covers: military style paranormal units fighting for good, truly evil bad guys fighting for bad, sizzling romance, kidnapping, intrigue and betrayal, shifters, fae and vampires, with traitors and vampire/ghoul hybrids wreaking havoc and spreading their evil everywhere, magic, mayhem and fights galore as well as a puzzle to solve and a few surprises in store. But rest assured it all works out right in the end. This story has the happily ever after we all expect, no cliffhanger, contains so much background it can easily be read as a stand alone and I absolutely loved it. It did have a couple of bits that made me cringe with embarrassment, and contains stuff for over 18s only. If you haven't read any of the other books, don't worry, there's a seriously useful series helper and reading order at the beginning of the book and it's packed with so much background and history you won't feel like you've missed anything. Why not give it a try?
Expecting Darkness: An Immortal Ops World Novel (Immortal Ops: Crimson Ops Series Book 2)
This is the second book in the Immortal Ops - Crimson Ops Series by Mandy Roth. Another great addition to this ever expanding and mesmerizing paranormal world the author has created.
The Crimson Ops group is part of the overall PSI but it's members are all vampires (both made and born). They have comically been nicknamed "The Fang Gang". To our enjoyment the story. also has many members of the PSI involved providing more capable paranormal alpha hunks and many hysterical moments as they relentlessly rib and make fun of each other.
This is Searc and Jessie's story. Searc is a 300 year old vampire, originally a Scottish highlander, who was made by his master Cormag after the battle of Culloden when so many of his clan were dying. Both Cormag and Searc remain very very Scottish in their ways and culture, even continuing to wear a kilt most of the time. Serving as Cormag's second for hundreds of years Searc was always able to stand his ground with his master, eventually leaving to join the PSI. Not too long ago Searc had been captured by the evil Corporation, who illegally tested and ran experiments on paranormals, trying to create the next generation of super soldiers. He couldn't remember all the details but did recall them taking blood and semen samples during his time in captivity.
Jessie Buchanan had been born as one of the "experiments" and had been discovered to be the genetic daughter of Cormag. Her father, now a powerful Master Vampire, has devoted his life to loving and protecting his daughter who was a gift he'd never expected to have in his life.
Searc has always felt ultra protective of Jessie from the day she came into their lives. Being Cormag's daughter he has kept his distance, especially after she became of age six years ago at 18. There was no way he was getting in trouble with his master no matter how strong the pull to her. When Searc senses Jessie is in danger he reaches out to Cormag his fears and can't shake the feeling she needs him desperately. His master doesn't believe him at first but when strange nightmares and changes affect his daughter four months later it is Searc he trusts to call in and protect his daughter.
From here the excitement, danger and suspense take us on an adventure as secrets and traitors are revealed, hidden plots discovered and the special bond Searc and Jessie share is finally allowed to blossom (some hot sexy romance a plus as well as lots of humor provided by the PSI ).A fast moving enjoyable read you won't want to put down. Really like the Crimson Ops group and look forward to book 3.
Wow, just Wow! What a wonderful book by Mandy M Roth. Its the exciting second in the Crimson Ops series. Cormag Buchanan was the high warrior and clan chieftain more than 300 years ago when Culloden happened. At the end of the battle he walked the bloody battlefield offering life eternal or a natural death to those who were dying. Many took his offer of life eternal, including our hero Searc. Cormag sired Searc and chose him to be his second in command. For many years they killed and pillaged, reining death and destruction,
Then one day about 23 years ago, a woman arrived with a baby in a basket and told Cormag that the baby was his daughter. Cormag almost killed the infant, but Searc saved her. And, he saw the light in his soul. he turned away from evil and joined forces with those seeking good, the Crimson Sentinel Ops. He left Cormag. Cormag too had enough of killing for no purpose and joined the vampire police force, otherwise known as the Paranormal Regulators. He's not quite ready to join the Fang Gang as the Crimson Sentinel Ops are known, but tries to instead act as a mediator in disputes between rial vampire gangs.
While he is in Scotland working with two rival vampire gangs he gets an urgent call from Searc that his daughter is in danger. For Cormag, his daughter means everything to him. Cormag checks with his current second in command, Islay, who reports that all is well. Searc has always been drawn to Cormag's daughter, Jessie, but since she turned 18 the pull towards her has been much stronger. He keeps his distance from her whenever possible.
And so, the real story begins. A story filled with longing, love, humor, betrayal, murder, violence capture by the Corporation of both Jessie and Searc, evil beings, and finally our HEA.
Jessie thought that she was almost entirely human as she could go out in the daytime with only a risk of getting a sunburn in direct sunlight. She needed help opening jars, was not able to move fast like other vampires. She has a girlfriend, Meena whose father is similar Cormag. Jessie loves having a friend that she can be open and honest with. Meena knows that Jessie really likes Searc and Jessie knows that Meena really like Baltair. They both know that their fathers would kill the men if they knew of the girls attraction. Perhaps they can start dating in about 300 hundred years!
I highly recommend this story to all of you, regardless of what types of books you normally read. It is a WINNER. I would give it 16 STARS, but I will have to settle for 5.
I received this book as an ARC with no expectations. The opinions are most definitely my own. ENJOY!
Ms Mandy M Roth has done it again! Her writing is absolutely spectacular. Not only do you find yourself reading the story, but Ms Roth has you immerse yourself into it, finding yourself there for the ride, feeling every emotion the characters do. Not many authors can do that, but Ms Roth has you hook, line and sinker from the very first page.
Expecting Darkness is the second of the Crimson Ops books, it can be read alone as it doesn't have a cliffhanger. But I truly recommend you start from the very beginning with Immortal Ops, as you'll will come across spoilers from previous books you have not read. You can find all the series books and the recommended series reading order at Mandy M Roth's web page which is at www.mandyroth.com/the-immortal-ops-se...
Searc, a very powerful alpha male vampire who works for PSI in the Crimson Ops otherwise known as The Fang Gang to everyone else. For the past six years he has found himself only thinking about one woman, Jessie. But there's a problem, to him she is off limits, as she is the daughter to a Master Vampire and not just any Master Vampire, Cormag Buchanan his sire. One day Searc wakes from his dead sleep in the middle of the day with a feeling of fear and a hangover to beat all hangovers. Feeling a pull of need to protect Jessie he calls his maker who convinces him all is well and she is safe and sound, Searc believes Cormag but he still cannot shake the feeling that something is not right.
Four months ago Jessie wakes to find herself not only not in the same bed she went to sleep in but also missing several days of her life. At about the same time she started to have nightmares about being tested on and her father's second Islay being involved. But she feels she can't tell anyone as they would think she was crazy, plus she doesn't know who she can trust, except for one man, Searc. Since she turned eighteen six years ago he's been the only man she can't stop thinking about in every way. With danger at every turn, can Searc protect Jessie and their unknown, unborn baby safe and out of harm's way, while also warring with himself with the need to claim her as his mate.
If you love a book which is jaw dropping, with panty melting hotness, packed full of action from the very beginning. Also with sexy as sin alpha males, sassy women, fight scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat, toe curling sexual encounters that will have your kindle setting on fire, and laugh aloud humour then this is the series for you.
The team members of the Fang Gang are back and funnier than ever with snarky comments and awesome stunts that are what make the Immortal Ops well known. This is Searc’s story. Searc has been desirous of his sire’s daughter, ever since she turned legal (18). He has done what he could to stay away from her to prevent her from finding out which includes working at Paranormal Security which is known as the Fang Gang. Both Searc and Jessie were taken and used for experiments; Jessie is the result of certain experiments that have been conducted on her and Searc doesn’t even know what she truly is. All he knows is his sire keeps him away from his daughter so Searc says away from her. Jessie doesn’t understand why he does stay away from her and it hurts. But When his maker calls him to protect his daughter, Searc is not sure if he can keep his desire hidden anymore. There are twists and turns in this story as we watch their love story unfold. Searc's been waiting years for Jessie and we get to see how Alpha he truly is and overprotective yet Jessie is independent and just because she is a girl doesn’t mean she cant protect herself. This is a great story and I loved their forbidden love story that came to fruition. I cant wait for more in the Immortal Ops series to read by this awesome author.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Ilove these slightly off-kilter vampires! The fact that they are Scots like me has nothing to do with my love for them...honest!! Searc has fought the pull to Jessie, the very human-like daughter of his Maker for years. But when he "hears" her cal lout for him, he contacts her father, only to be told she was safe and well at home(as far as he knows!)
Jessie is the result of certain experiments and isn't quite sure what mix of species she is! She doesn't appear to have any vampire tendencies, however she wouldn't mind taking a bite out of Searc. She has at turns loved and hated the big, brooding Scot for years. But when she loses a chunk of time and then starts feeling unwell, she knows something is up, especially when her father summons Searc and tells her to do what he says! There is danger afoot and he wants her safe, even if it is with his former second.
What follows is delve into the hidden depths, passions and fears of Searc and just how manipulative Jessie can be! She soon has the Searc wrapped around her finger, although she doesn't always see that. She occasionally only sees the opinionated, domineering alpha that he can be! The banter between the Fang Gang is awesome with Aubrey being my favourite secondary character!
The A%%hole of the week award also make an appearance and I'm sure a certain swooning vampire will be its recipient soon enough! Cannot wait for the next book!
Searc is one of the good guys, operating the lighter side protecting both supernaturals and humans alike. He and his team are a force to be reckoned with. When he is called to protect the one woman he hasn’t been able to get out of his head for the past six years, Jessie Buchanan, the only child of his longtime friend and sire, he knows that this will indeed become one of biggest battles in his immortal life. He must protect her from the nefarious plans the Corporation has instore for her, which should be just another day at the office for him and his team if he can only keep his vampire’s overwhelming need to claim her as his mate in check. Jessie will push Searc’s well maintained control to the limits. While the hunky alpha vamp tries his best to keep her safe, they’ll discover that Jessie is full of her own surprises, that even she wasn’t aware of, and can give the Corporation and Searc a run for the money. One of her surprises will have Searc questioning if vampire can indeed have heart attacks.
If you love you love alpha hotties, sassy women, snarky humor, and steam that will have your girly bits paying attention this is the series for you! I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the Fang Gang when they meet their mates! Especially Blaise and Aubrei!
I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I couldn't put it down!
As anticipated but more than anything else there are no words that can help explain but this book just confirmed that Mandy M Roth has done it again but made has me more than ever before hooked on her immortal ops hunks. Each book just takes you more and more further into their lives through Mandy's writings and you don't want to see it ending. Each book takes you to each character their lives, how they were made, how they lived and how they find and fight for their mates, family and their friends In Expecting Darkness, you have Searc and Jamie the terrible things that are done to her without her knowledge and her remembering, her father and Searc fearing for her safety all comes to a head. All Mandy's books and her Immortal Ops series are just too wonderful to pass up. If you read this book I can guarantee that you will love it and continue reading them as they come if not starting from the first book of the Immortal Ops series. Expecting Darkness is the second book in the Crimson OPs, so you have plenty of Books in between for you to be able to catch up before the next new Crimson OPs comes out....so love all the Immortal's
I am really enjoying this world Ms. Roth has created in conjunction with the original Immortal Ops world. She continues to give us wonderfully strong, alpha males and females who can stand up to them. I really enjoyed Searc. Ms. Roth showed us a male who didn't take himself too seriously but knew when play time was over. I loved that he appeared clueless as to why Jessie was so important to him. That did not stop him from doing whatever was necessary to protect her. I enjoyed that Jessie was equally clueless about Searc. She didn't seem to realize that her crush had morphed into something more and with the twist that Ms. Roth threw her she needed to understand and accept quickly. This story is well written and fits into this world seamlessly. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Searc and Jessie and can't wait to see where Ms. Roth will take us next.
I have always enjoyed the Immortal Ops series, but the Fang Gang is quickly becoming my favorite part of the series. Searc is a centuries old Scottish vampire. Jessie is the twenty something daughter of his even older sire. Searc has been aware for several years that Jessie is his true mate, but hasn't acted on his feelings out of respect for his sire. All that goes out the window when Jessie is in danger. Jessie and her father have been betrayed by someone very close to them, who turned her over to the Corporation for testing. She is now pregnant with Searc's child, even though he never touched her sexually. Her father realizes the situation and asks Searc to protect her.
The plot of this story is exciting and erotic and impossible to put down. The characters are colorful and entertaining and I want to read more about each and every one of them. I hope the author writes the next one quickl
Another winner!!!!! Loved every minute of it!!!!! More vampires, Scottish again, no less!!!! Awesome fun read of a continuation and aside of the vampires and shifters from book one. I can't wait for the next ones!!!! Searc and Jessie's story.
Cormag us Jessie's father, a master vampire, and Searc's creator. The Corporation is still up to its usual tricks, and creating trouble. Cormag's second in command, and Searc's first cousin Islay is behind some devious plots that the Corporation wants to implement.
Islay is jealous of Searc and Jessie. They secretly gave feelings for one another, but have never acted on them. Read thus awesome story, and all the others Mandy M. Roth writes for sheer reading enjoyment, laughs, and pure fun!!!! Love them all!!!!!
I have been following Ms. Roth's writing ever since I first read and reviewed Radar Deception. She has yet to disappoint me and I believe she gets better with every one that I have read.
In this story we meet Searc, a vampire who works for the Fang Gang as the Crimson Ops team is called. He wakes in a terror believing his sire's daughter Jessie is in danger and needing him. Meanwhile at the same time Jessie wakes from a nightmare needing Searc. Each has been attracted to the other for awhile now. Searc avoids visiting with his sire because of his yearning to claim her though Jessie believes he wants nothing to do with her.
I really enjoyed this story despite not being a fan of vampires. I cannot wait to see who gets mated next and wholeheartedly recommend this to any paranormal romance fan. I voluntarily read an advance copy.
I love the Fang Gang! This is another awesome book in the Immortal Ops world. I loved this book and the characters. There is danger, humor, oh and hot sex. If you have read other books in this world you know the banter, the humor, the Asshole of the Week award, well this book is no different. I laughed so hard I cried in a couple of places.
Both Searc and Jessie were taken and used for experiments. Searc has know Jessie since she was a baby, and that is part of the problem. He has been around her as she grew up and of course as she became of age. He wants her but she is the daughter to his maker, his sire. Yup, sticky situation. I loved seeing how that part played out.... snicker....
Another amazing story in the immortals ops world. Searc and Jessie have known eachother her entire life. Searc was once her father's second before he left to join the side of good. He has always been protective of Jessie, even when she was a little girl. He woke up one day and was instantly concerned for Jessie. At that time Jessie's life is changing and she doesn't even know it. She has lost 4 days of her life and doesn't want to tell her father for fear he'll make her move back home. All she knows is that she lost time in her life and no longer trusts someone who has been around her entire life. Mandy does an amazing job creating this story. It is full of action and intrigue. I love the way she builds the characters in her stories and cannot wait to read their stories.
Crimson Ops or the Fang Gang continues with Searc yearning for his previous master’s daughter Jessie - and when his sore and ex master Cormag is nearly attacked on a visit to Scotland, he sends Searc to look after her and guard her. Jessie has suffered from nightmares now for four months, since losing time to blacking out. With the usual mix of supernatural adventures, threats, an ongoing story arc of kidnapped supernaturals plus erotica, this one sees Searc wrapped around Jessie’s finger as he fights the need to claim her, after sensing himself on her skin. We get to meet the other vamps, the friendly rivalry between then and the shifters continues, and the sense of humour is also high.
I this window into the Crimson Ops division and Mandy Roth's world of vampires. This book takes place parallel to her previous Crimson Ops book, so I would recommend reading that first. Jessie for growing up with vampires was very naive in many ways. She didn't even realize Searc was her mate. She had also never seen a full vampire shift. Searc never put 2and2 together that Jessie was his mate either. Others realize hence the bad guys part of storyline. We get to meet the rest of the team from PSI that work with Searc. Can't wait to read their stories. I also hope the author writes in a mate for Cormag.
Expecting Darkness is Searc and Jessie's story. Searc is part of the Crimson Ops team and is happy to be in the right side of things. He has been battling an obsession with Jessie for the last 6 years but she is the last woman he should be attracted to. Jessie is the daughter of master vampire Cormag who is also Searcs maker. Jessie is working towards her master's degree but lately things feel off with her. Four months ago she blacked out and lost several days, ever since she has been having nightmares. The Corporation is at it again, this time they have Jessie and Searc in their sights.
I love the Immortal Ops world every story is better then the last . Searc Macleod always had a good relationship with his maker ,even after he left over a hundred years ago after being his Sire second in command . But lately he has a strong pull to Jessie his makers daughter. Jessie Buchanan was always off limits to all. But as of late Searc pull and need for Jessie is stronger. When danger nears both Jessie and her dad and to why he has this hidden bond to Jessie is reveled Searc with stop a nothing to protect and claim what is rightfully his even if it will cost him his life .
Another winner! This is the next book in the Immortal Ops series and I just loved it! The Fang Gang are back and this time they are tasked or rather Searc is to protect the master's daughter Jesse. There is one problem, Searc has being lusting after her for years and when a surprise happens he must not only protect her he must earn her father's permission to be with her. I can't say to much without spoiling so you just have to read it.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Searc is one of the good guys - - but he wasn't always good! And of course he is head over heels for the one girl he absolutely cannot have. This book is a little more predictable than some of Mandy's other books, but she definitely puts her own spin to it!! (And drops a few clues along the way!) I love the PSI/Crimson Os stories - - they are all separate but together give you a deeper look into the world Mandy has created. As expected, I had to read this one in one sitting - - the was no way to put it down!!!
I loved this book, read it in one day as I could not put it down. The storyline was fast paced, a blend of mystery, action, and romance. Jessie, the heroine, was sweet and loving. She had her big bad vampire father wrapped around her finger. I loved the interaction between the hero, Searc, and Jessie's father. The true beauty in this book is the characters. But, I wish I knew what ultimately happened with Islay and his associates. I suspect that may be in another book.
This book runs parallel with the first book in this series, Midnight Echoes so I would recommend you listen to that one as well. I am really enjoying this group of paranormal characters. They have such a great connection with each other and will do anything that is needed for anyone in this group. This couple was super fun to listen to as well. The struggle to find your mate and yet try to hide it is huge, but we finally get there in the end. I am excited to see what comes next with this group. Narration was amazing!
Coming to terms with the truth Searc and been lusting after his sire’s daughter, ever since she was eighteen. So he has tried to stay away from her, working at Paranormal Security also known as the Fang Gang. When Searc’s sire demands he protect his daughter Jessie, Searc can only do as required. But will he be able to protect Jessie from himself? Lots of action and adventure in this well written, self-contained story.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Loving the Immortal World series as a whole, but I'm seriously not liking how abruptly the individual stories are ending. Personally, I think $5-$6 is too much for how short these stories are, and I think the author is doing her fans a disservice by charging so much for so little writing. I'm only continuing the series because I'm really interested in seeing how the whole thing wraps up and how theses shifters find their mates.
