Gina, a natural born slayer, has been looking for love in all the wrong places. She's not holding out for Prince Charming and for some strange reason, she can’t stop having feelings she shouldn’t for a man she considers just a friend. Sure, he’s hot, but he’s an alpha male shifter. Shifters and slayers don’t mix. It’s just the way of it. Plus, he’s been friend zoned.
Detective Jay Gonzales is so in love with the spit-fire redheaded slayer he can’t see straight. She keeps him at arm’s length and he can’t blame her. He’s got a history as a ladies man and he’s not what her slayer buddies would consider a catch. He doesn’t care. She means something to him and this wolf shifter isn’t about to take no for an answer, especially since he's sure she's his mate. Breaking the news to his pack, and keeping her safe from a rising dark threat are just two more obstacles he has to overcome to make Gina his forever.

Bad Moon Rising-Tempting Fate Loup Garou Series Book 2 by Mandy M. Roth has been a book that has been a book that has been a long time coming and I have waited so long for this exciting story . Let me say, this book took and exceeded all the expectations that I had and blew me completely over with the twists, turns, drama, angst, and revelations that were put forth in this follow up to Loup Garou book 1. Boom baby boom!!! Bad Moon Rising is the story of Gina – Paranormal Slayer and Jay Gonzales – Police Detective/ Wolf Shifter. Gina and Jay have been friends for a long time and they both have intense feelings for one another but they have danced arounds those feelings. Jay has tried to get beyond the “friend zone” that Gina has him in but she refuses to budge. While out of patrol one night Gina unknowingly attracts the attention of a powerful Master Vampire Reynaud who is evil. Gina’s boss thinks Jay can protect her from what is coming her way. Get ready for tons of major explosions, and be prepared for things to be not what they seem. There is a lot of witty and humorous banter in this story along with some intense sexual tension in this story to keep things hopping. There is tons of action, adventure, drama, wolves, vampires, intrigue, passion and true love at play here. I loved the emotional rollercoaster this story had me on and let me say, I was totally engrossed from start to finish. Ms. Roth has this utter knack for writing a story that keeps you guessing until the very last, as well as writing likable , believable characters who you root for. A definitive recommendation from me.
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Great characters, story, and chapters. Can't wait for more. It was action packed, adorable but at the same time sweet. Both Jay and Regina are awesome team. Read it in one day!
A perfect hero I think one of the things this author does best is creating these characters who joke around and cut up while being over all sweet guys. Well until their lady love is in danger, then that alpha switch gets flipped and the baddies better head for the hills. I really enjoyed this book. I love the overall story and the way Jay and Gina get their HEA, with an unexpected twist you will have to read for yourself. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, there are so many characters I hope to see find their HEA.
I've waited so long for this book and it exceeded all my expectations. Full of twists, turns, revelations and the shocks keep coming...
'Bad Moon Rising' was fantastic! What more can I say?
Okay, that was a bit short, but pretty much captures what I thought. I read Loup Garou, the first in Mandy Roth's Tempting Fate series many years ago (and several times since) and I've been waiting a long time for this book, although not quite as long as some, and I really couldn't wait to dive in. It exceeded all my admittedly very high expectations, had me hooked on the very first page, and didn't let go until I got to the last one, which kind of crept up on me unexpectedly and left me wanting more. It hasn't really let me go at all because I want to keep reading even though the book is finished. Filled with action and intrigue as well as humour, steam and confusion, it had twists and turns aplenty, lots of jaw-dropping revelations and the shocks just kept on coming...
I don't want to give spoilers but this book has so much packed into every page that it's almost impossible not to, so I won't go into detail. Slayer extraordinaire Gina is on a mission for her boss, Zachariah, to check out the new club in town and determine if it's the root of the increase in violence and death that's been happening lately, but she gets so much more than she bargained for. Rushing to her rescue is wolf shifter Detective Jay Gonzales who is less than impressed she's at the club alone. Things get a little steamy, a lot scarey and the edge of the seat action just keeps on going through the whole book.
Almost no-one in this story is quite what they seem and the cast of characters is large, from over-protective alpha wolves to bat s**t crazy vampires, slayers and fae, there are some real gems here, along with sometimes heartbreaking revelations and shocks galore as the various relationships unfold but my special favourites, apart from Gina and Jay of course, are Romeo and Shaw, both of whom bring their special talents to the battle that's about to begin and add to the always funny and sometimes downright hilarious witty banter that had me chuckling from beginning to end. I loved them all, but I did get a bit frustrated with Jay, for not being honest with Gina, and with Gina for lots of reasons, including not being honest with Jay, although I understood why, and then there was the ego. She knew Reynaud was after her and she'd had a hard lesson about his power, which should have taught her she was in serious danger and didn't have the strength to beat him on her own, but she still insisted on trying to go it alone. Will these smart and feisty hero types never learn? She reminded me quite vividly, and more than once, of the girls in the horror movies who never learn, do things that are ill advised at best and end up being too stupid to live. Fortunately for Gina, she isn't actually alone, far from it in fact....
Mandy Roth is one of my all-time favourite authors and I've read a lot of her books over the years, all of which are terrific, she never disappoints and 'Bad Moon Rising' has joined the list of books I'd rescue if the house was burning down. I'll undoubtedly be reading it again before too long, and again, and again and... you get the picture. It really is that good and worth way more than the 5stars I'm limited to here. I really can't wait for the next one and hope it won't be nearly so long coming...
Bad Moon Rising: A Loup Garou World Novel Tempting Fate Book 2) - Mandy Roth
This second book in The Tempting Fate (A Loup Garou World) series. If you haven't read the first book in this series: Loup Garou, I recommend read first as it will give some insight into the characters. This book is filled with all the snarky humor, action, and steamy writing we expect from a Mandy Roth book. We get to see some of our favorite Tempting Fate characters in action and get to meet some new alpha- males, ahem Shaw McKay, who we can only hope Mandy has plans for in the future!

Mandy Roth - Bad Moon Rising: A Loup Garou World Novel (Tempting Fate Book 2)
Was excited to finally read the second book in Mandy Roth’s Loup Garou series and it did not disappoint. Seriously recommend reading Book 1 first to get a feel for the fabulous paranormal urban fantasy world and characters the author is so skilled in creating.
This book is Gina and Jay’s story (both introduced in book1). Gina is a slayer who goes after paranormals that are dangerous and evil. She is a fun heroine, snarky, daring (even when it is against her and our better judgement), feisty (Her nickname from Jay is The Fiery One), bold, comfortable with her sexual hotness. Her best friend is now mated and she finds herself partnered with Jay Gonzales, a very hunky alpha wolf shifter whom Gina has recently become quite obsessed with.
Jay wears many hats, not all that Gina is aware of, such as pack alpha and her future mate. Jay wants her to realize he is her mate on her own but Gina insists they are just best friends. Other than it taking way too long until Gina recognizes Jay is her mate I loved this sequel.
This is a roller coaster ride of adventure, action, danger, lots of humor and hotness. It’s a good size book I became totally engrossed in. There are some great twists and turns, get to see some my favorite characters from Book 1 ,meet some new alpha hotties. This really funny, hot ,exciting ,enjoyable, fast moving paranormal sequel is awesome, don’t miss this series. Hope it’s not too long until book 3.
Bad Moon Rising Tempting Fate Loup Garou Series Book 2 Mandy M. Roth
Another wonderful series by the amazing Mandy Roth. Bad Moon Rising is the story of Gina – Paranormal Slayer, Jay Gonzales – Police Detective/ Wolf Shifter and Reynaud – Master Vampire. Quite a combination of charactors right? Gina and Jay have been friends for a long time, both have strong feelings for each other but no matter what Jay does or says Gina keeps him in the dreaded friend zone. While out of patrol one night Gina unknowingly attracts the attention of a powerful evil, Master Vampire Reynaud. Jay comes to her resuce and a whole lot of trouble starts. The couple comes to realize that there may be only one chance of saving the fiesty little slayer, by becoming mates. Only one problem with that one though. Gina has years of disappointment and pain to let go of before she can move on and learn to trust again. Questions get answered, secrets are revealed and hearts finally get a chance at being healed.
I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Mandy Roth is definitely one of those Authors that you just can't get enough of!
Another wonderful series from Mandy Roth. I've read book one several times and was so pleased to see the next story. "Friend" Jay, a detective, wolf shifter and more to be found out, is determined to change that status with Gina. When you are a Slayer you don't pal around wolves even if they too are out to get the bad guys. But, he's a friend, former lover, of her bestie so they do pal around. Lately, feelings are changing and she's not giving in. She's not. Jay plans to change her mind and make her his. She's his mate and that is another issue. There are bad things going on. Bad guys and danger for them all. In the midst of it all can they find love? The characters are everything you want in a strong alpha with a heart and a feisty snarky woman who takes no stuff from the guy. She is an unending supply of humor for his pack. I love it. His feelings about her smart remarks, not so much. They are a great match. The bad guys are really bad with a challenge to who will come out the winner. This author never fails to provide a great read and this is no exception. A strong recommendation from me. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
This is a great book; this is the second book in the Tempting Fate Series written by Mandy Roth. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
There was a little time between Loup Garou and Bad Moon Rising. So when Bad Moon Rising arrived I went back to the first book and read that one again; in a day. The very next night I ended up staying up until I finished Bad Moon Rising as I couldn't put it down once I started. Gina is a complicated mix of rising above some craptastic childhood moments and becoming a bad ass independent woman. I love the strong women characters that Mandy writes about. Ray, I loved Ray's character in the first book of this series. In this one I find him absolutely swoon worthy. There is just something about a man who calls his woman "baby." The twists and turns of this novel could give you the best kind of whiplash. Gina seeing her dad again, realizing she is in love with Ray, fighting evil. Ray being who he is after his initial portrayal, HOT. I found that I'd like to have a talking to with those damn powers that be. The update on Exavier and Lindsay was a nice happy note too. I cannot wait for Myra's story.
Spent been way to long waiting for this book to come and you know what .....it's true good things come to those that wait. I had to read the first book to refresh myself on the whole story and believe me your going to want to read the first book to better understand wants going on here. Jay and Gina have a quite a bit of history . Jay once was Gina's best friends lover but things change when Lindsey Gina's friend up's and finds her true mate. Gina never did relationships due to the fact that the only two men in her life she truly loved left her and broke her heart. When on a mission one night Gina's whole world changes, well things have been kind of changing over the past six months. Jay is no different as his world and the truth of who he truly is and what he means to Gina finally comes to surface accompanied by a whole lot of trouble and then some from Gina's past. Gina nor Jay have no clue that they are in for the ride of their lives.
Great to finally get a next book and in Kindle Unlimited. Reading heaven. I read the Loup Garou book many years ago and I reread it before reading this book. I found this more enjoyable than book one but I believe that is due to the author having grown better over time. I didn’t even realise Ms Roth had finally written another book in this series. Very enjoyable plot wise with a fairly quick ending but I just found Gina way to slow on the uptake. The fact Jay was an idiot withholding the truth from Gina also annoyed me to a degree. No spoilers but I could see a mile off what and who the other characters are/were. I want to know what happened to Gina’s godfather after he had been possessed. Is he still alive? There are a few other characters I would like to read about. The other friend Myra for sure and I really want Romeo’s story and I hope Shaw gets his true mate after everything he has been through. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
If you haven't read Loup Garou, I suggest you stop right there and go your merry way, for I will talk about things that happened in it in a few lines from now.
A few weeks ago, I devoured (metaphorically, please, I don't want to eat my Kindle) Loup Garou, enthralled by the plot brilliantly woven by Mandy M. Roth, whose ending set the scene for the love story of Bad Moon Rising, which focuses on Jay and Gina.
So it is with pleasure that I met with the alpha wolf shifter, the slayer, a very pregnant Lindsay, Exavier, and all the gang, plus a new array of fabulous characters (seriously, Scottish shifters!!!) and a very devious vampire.
Again, masterfully woven by Roth, sexy as hell, with a story that made me rue the fact that I had to stop reading because I needed to do a pesky thing called work.
A great series, a great second book. I highly recommend.
YES! I had been waiting for this book for a while now and was really really looking forward to its release. It did not disappoint. Gina is a slayer, but a little more than that even though she really doesn't know it yet. Men do not stick around for her. Her dad, her college lover, so now she thinks she will never have a man love her. Jay is a wolf shifter and good friend of hers, he is also a man-whore. When an vampire master sets his sights on Gina, all hell breaks loose and her boss thinks Jay can protect her. Fireworks explode, oh yeah, and things are not always what they seem. There are parts of this book that kept me guessing at what would happen next and Gina lives up to her fiery one nickname. So why the four star and not a five? It did not hook me. There were a few slow parts and the end left me expecting more. No spoilers here!
Gina is a kickass slayer. She always gets the jobs done. But her latest assignment may be more than she can handle alone. When a recon mission turns into a face to face with a Master vampire, who takes an unhealthy interest in Gina, she may need all the help she can get.
Jay is a detective, a wolf shifter and firmly in Gina's friend zone. There is no way she would let such a player into her heart as anything ore than a friend. But they both have changed feelings and Jay has been put straight by the Elders, his mate is a slayer and his wolf just better get used to it!
There are some great secondary characters and I totally loved Shaw (not biased at all LOL). I did think they were a bit slow on the uptake, even I figured out the links between certain characters quicker than they did! But a fab read!
I was super excited to finally get to read the next book in the series!!
POSSIBLE SPOILERS....
While on a recon mission Ginab came in contact with a dark and strong master vampire who has taken an instant liking to her but she can't figure out why?! Jay has been protecting Gina's back without her knowing for the past 6 months because he has found out that she is his mate but she doesn't know it...YET! The master vampire is attacking slayers to not only build his army but to get the only he REALLY wants! Gina is making some startling discoveries about her past and it seems like people from her past has found her too but what will be the outcome?
This story is amazing! I absolutely love the chemistry between Gina and Jay. The sparks come right off the screen. A new bad guy is in town and wants to make Gina his own. Jay has known for 6 months that Gina is his mate but doesn't know how to make her realize it. Little does he know that she is falling for him but her own past makes her hesitant. Gina's story made me cry and want to help her kick butt. She is an amazing heroine and doesn't need a mans help. However, her past is coming back for her in a good and bad way. Will Gina and Jay be able to come together to take on this new evil?
Mandy does an amazing job with this story. I have been waiting for Gina and Jay's story since the first book and she didn't disappoint. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Gina is different from other slayers but she could care less. She does her job and spends time with her new best friend, Jay. But when her feelings for Jay morph into something more can Gina accept the change?
I really like Gina in this story by Ms. Roth. She is a kick ass female character even as she finds her emotions engaged in a way she is uncomfortable with. I adored Jay. He sees Gina, even better than she sees herself. And while he knows that Gina mean more to him, convincing her is going to take some work. Moving out of the friend zone isn't going to be easy. But I love Jay's determination even as he fights to protect Gina.
This story by Ms. Roth is a roller coaster of action. It is full of emotion, humor and danger. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to Ms. Roth returning to this world in the future.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I have to say that i forgot how much i loved this series! Once again Mandy M Roth didn't disappoint at all! Gina and Jay are stong headed and perfect match for one another. Well developed characters that will make you laugh and will also make you want to hit them upside the head! I loved the mystery wrapped around the story and how its packed with action . I also loved that we got to see some old characters and meet some new as well...that were very promising for a new book perhaps.... An excellent continuation of the series!!!!!
Ms. Roth has done it again, she kept me captivated throughout the story. I loved Romeo and hope he gets a story, then of course there is Shaw the Scottish Alpha with magic. Myra is a card, she kept stating that someone's Dad is a "hottie" and Jay the alpha in love with a slayer which also happens to be his true mate but that is for Gina to discover later. And that last is the only thing I am slipping the rest you will need to discover on your own and I implore you to buy this one if you like hot sexy men, strong women and a bit of action and mystery with your romance.
I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
In the first Loup Garou book, with Lindsay and Exavier, by the end, it’s clear, at least to the reader, that Jay has a huge crush on Slayer Gina. The thing is, slayers don’t get mates. That would apply toGina, if she weren’t something more. Mixing humour, action, baddies, blood and sex, this book sees Jay hiding secrets from Gina, whilst trying to woo her, and going about it half cocked. Whilst I enjoyed this one, as with the previous title, I had difficulties believing that Gina hadn’t figured out what Jay was to her, or about her own father. Apart from that, another enjoyable romp.
Amazing! This is book 2 to Loup Garou and it was tantalizing. So much action, mystery and stubbornness. I have no idea what it is about redheads, but they sure are feisty. This is about Regina and Jayson. You will be on the edge of your seat at times, laughing at times and then you will shocked as get up and go. If you haven't read book 1, please grab that copy and read it so you are not lost in this world. You will not be disappointed.
I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book for review.
OMG WOW! Gina is a natural-born slayer. Detective Jay Gonzalez is an alpha wolf shifter who has a reputation of being a lady's man but that is all behind him now that he knows Gina is his mate. Problem is he has to convince her she is and keep her safe from an evil vampire named Reynaud.
Oh I have need waiting so long for this book to come out. I am so happy the author did a part two of the Loup Garou book! The characters are off the charts awesome. Thier funny, cool and smartaleck not mention badass to. Lots of action, mystery, drama, intrigue, vampires, werewolves and so much more! I couldn't put it down, I didn't want it to be over and I wanted to reread it again! It was awsome! So happy I got to read this Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Jay is deep in "friend zone" for Gina. She hangs out while he remodels his house. They fight the pull to one another until they don't. Of course, things cannot run smoothly. Enter Master Vampire Reynaud and someone from Gina's past shows up. Together they fight for their love. I love this author's IOPs series and it's spin-offs. Why I never read the first book in this series, Loup Garou, I'll never know. I have since reading this book. I loved them both. This is another series I early wait for the next installment. I received an ARC for an honest review.
OMG I have been waiting for this book since I first read Loup Garou, that was one of the first Mandy M Roth's books and I have been patiently waiting for the second book in the series and it's finally here. Gina and Jay omg this book was amazing I was hoping they would be the next ones to get their own book. This book was just as good as the first it was definitely worth the wait Gina and Jay were amazing and I am so glad that they finally managed to get together. I cannot wait for the next story in this series.
Gina just kicks arse. She doesn't totally understand the dynamics of the people around her, she does know her job. Jay is trying to give all the right signals out to Gina, while being a guy and not just stating it. I absolutely loved Romeo! He just brought everything together including Gina and her awesome sense of humor. All of the characters had good timing in the story. And it didn't drag or get carried away at any points. While this is a stand alone, I would recommend reading the first just to really get a grasp on the relationship between Jay, Lindsey and ultimately Gina.
As usual I really liked this one. I did go back and read Loup Garou again first. I'd forgotten a lot of what happened in it so it enhanced this book a lot. Not that this one can't stand alone. Mandy Roth's humor and ability to build suspense kept me up all night to finish. It's 6:45 a.m. and I started it last night. Greatly looking forward to morein this series. If you haven't checked out any of her other books, you should. The Immortal Ops series and it's branches is excellent as well as many of the others.
Mandy M Roth is the paranormal queen. Bad Moon Rising is the second book in the Loup Garou World series. Gina is a slayer and Jay is a sexy werewolf detective. They are friends who grow into something more. Turns out Jay is Alpha of his pack and Gina is his mate. It is unusual for a slayer to have a mate but their relationship works great. This is a very hot and sexy romance with a fast-paced and suspenseful plot. I loved the storyline. I loved the characters.
This book was excellent! We waited a while after the first installment in this series, Loup Garou, but I was definitely not disappointed. We met Jayson and Regina in the first book and knew that they would be explosive, and we judged correctly. The best parts of this story weren’t just the romance between these two, but the outlying stories about Gina’s family and history. I can’t wait to see who gets their story next.
Ooooh this one is sneaky and awesome and hilarious moments. I really enjoyed this second book and boy are there some awesome twists and steam. I could not put this down not even while cooking dinner. This story really hooks you in and keeps you captivated with the non stop movement with all the characters, definitely some great laughs in there and passion. Brilliant MMR just brilliant.
