MAN OF ICE
It was rumoured that Lieutenant Michael Ryan had ice running through his veins. A dedicated detective, he never let emotion interfere with his job. But his unwavering discipline was shaken by one beguiling and beautiful suspect, a woman who could help him catch a grisly serial killer .
A. J. Duncan's reputation as a criminal profiler was exemplary, but her involvement in her cop brother's death was suspicious. And as the two investigations heated up, Michael realized he'd crossed the line and fallen for a woman forbidden to him.
For larger-than-life love stories, award-winning author Maggie Price is one of our Women to Watch
Maggie Price turned to crime at the age of twenty-two. That's when she went to work at the Oklahoma City Police Department. As a civilian crime analyst, she evaluated suspects' methods of operation during the commission of robberies and sex crimes, and developed profiles on those suspects. During her tenure at OCPD, Maggie stood in lineups, snagged assignments to homicide task forces, established procedures for evidence submittal, even posed as the wife of an undercover officer in the investigation of a fortune teller.
Drawing on her twelve years experience in law enforcement, Maggie Price penned her debut novel, PRIME SUSPECT. One week after Silhouette Books acquired the novel of romance and intrigue, the Romance Writers of America awarded PRIME SUSPECT its prestigious Golden Heart Award for Best Romantic Suspense.
A RITA award finalist, Maggie is the winner of Romantic Times Magazine's career achievement award in series romantic suspense, a Booksellers' Best Award for romantic suspense and a National Readers Choice Award for romantic suspense.
I loved this author's series about the McCall family and this one is her first book and starts another series of five related books.
AJ is called into Internal Affairs and she knows it is about her brother's death who was killed in a robbery a few days ago and there are questions and the man doing the questioning is Michael Ryan who demoted her brother to patrol. Ryan is someone dedicated to his job and he almost drives AJ to tears, which she has been keeping bottled up since her beloved brother's death, while dealing with her aunt's chemo.
Ryan does believe that AJ is innocent but is not sure about Ken, so he wants to know what AJ knows and feels bad for pressing on her grief but he needs to do his job and then he soon gets promoted to Lieutenant of Homicide and handed a case in which he needs AJ's help.
AJ is a crime analyst and profiler. Despite being on opposite sides there is a pull between them, which Ryan hasn't felt since his divorce but knows it is a conflict, AJ firmly refuses to believe that her brother would do wrong.
I enjoyed the book, but this is not the author's best.
