Rate this book
When Tony Watkins discovers a dead man in the elevator of his apartment building, he has no idea there will be more murders. When the second body is found, he and his friends at the club he goes to put their heads together to try to figure out what's happening and who the killer might be.

Kirk Logan is a man with problems. At twenty-nine, he still isn't out to his parents. On top of that, Tony thinks he's easy -- which is true -- and will have nothing to do with him, even though he wants to help Tony solve the murders. That is until he finally opens up to Tony about why he's the way he is.

What Tony learns about Kirk, in addition to a third murder, changes everything. Can Tony deal with his feelings for Kirk while trying, if possible, not to become the next murder victim?

Born and bred Cleveland, I earned a degree in technical theater, later switched to costuming, and headed to NYC. Finally seeing the futility of trying to become rich and famous in the Big Apple, I joined VISTA—Volunteers in Service to America—ending up in Chicago for three years. Then it was on to Denver, where I put down roots and worked as a costume designer until I retired in 2007.

I began writing a few years ago after joining an online fanfic group. Two friends and I then started a group for writers, where they could post any story they wished, no matter the genre or content. Since then I've been writing for publication. My first book came out in February of 2011. Most, but not all, of my work is M/M, either mildly erotic or purely 'romantic'. More often than not it involves a mystery or action/adventure, and is sometimes paranormal as well.

Tony Watkins is a writer who works from home, living in a tenement housing mostly older people. When Tony and another resident discover a dead person in the elevator, Tony’s ready to head to the club, after all the excitement, to tell his group of friends all the gory details of the day.

Kirk Logan is someone who frequents that club, always dressed to the nines and picking up any twink who’s available. But Kirk is only using that as a ploy. He has tried working his way into this circle of Tony’s, but Tony has made it clear he wants nothing to do with Kirk. Though eventually, Tony decides to give Kirk a chance, and they get to know each other. And Tony, being honest with Kirk, starts to see a change.

As the numbers begin to increase in the elevator murders, Kirk becomes more concerned about Tony, and rightfully so, when Tony’s life is endangered and the mystery of the murders takes a twist.

The Elevator Murders is just the right length to offer a good murder mystery. Edward Kendrick always seems to find a new path to creating an interesting whodunnit, never letting up on the suspense, danger and a twist to the stories. These characters are well developed and really show the friendship that they share, as well as the concern they have for each other. Tony’s and Kirk’s characters both grow and come to an understanding and attraction that leads to them becoming more than friends.

Another great murder mystery by Edward Kendrick. Storyline was good and the characters were well developed . Tony was a writer who was based at home. Always going to the club in the evenings to spend time with his friends. One day he heard someone yell out 'don't hurt me'. He checked around thinking maybe someone had heard it or maybe it was a TV. In his quest he and another resident wait on the elevator only to find a dead man inside when it opens. After the police dismiss Tony he goes to the club telling his friends the gory details. Kirk is a man who frequents the same club. Troubled since he hasn't come out to his parents especially since he was 29, and his mother constantly setting him up with female dates, the club is his haven to pick up men. Tony is aware of Kirk and his antics and doesn't want anything to do with him. The elevator murders have claimed 2 more as Kirk becomes more concerned about Tony. They talk and Tony provides some advice about Kirk's situation...he needs to grow up and decide what he truly wants in life. Kirk's determined to change his life and in the process goes after Tony. The two have that attraction and Tony lets down the walls between them after starting to see the changes Kirk is making. Then the unimaginable happens...Tony is attacked. The mystery murders are blown wide open. A great story of mystery, coming out and love. Sometimes it takes something tragic to reveal what the heart wants. Loved the story❤️

I’ve read worse books, certainly, but there’s little here to recommend it. The writing is ham-fisted and the characters are cardboard. I was new to this author and I won’t read anything else by them.

I love a story where you do not know the culprit right away. This one will have you guessing. Enjoy.

Quick cosy romance with a hint of murder mystery. It was an ok read in my opinion. Mystery wasn't hard to work out and romance side was ok. (I admit I am not a major romance fan) Probably wouldn't read another book about these guys myself. But hey, that just my opinion.
