This was just average for me. It was a series of miscommunication that kept the couple apart for months. Although they saw each other at work, he never pressed the issue even though she was his mate. I couldn't blame her for believing the worst. I didn't dislike the book, I just wish there was more couple time. They didn't get together until the last few pages of the book and then it was over. No epilogue so we have not even a glimpse it their future.

Short read

Was a very short read. Liked the overall story but felt it was a little too easy and boring. Need more information about being a shifter and the romance between Trent and Julie.

Mistaken identity

This is a very enjoyable story to read about two coworkers finally getting together at a party for Trents sister. But Trents identical twin is also at the party and Julie sees the brother in a compromising position.
Working together becomes interesting to say the least.
Well written and very entertaining self-contained story to read.

CUTS, SEXY, & DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Olive
Series: Baby Whisperers
Author: Kate Kent
Designation: Book One of Series, Short Standalone Novella (64 pages), Standalone, NO Cliffhanger #paranormalromance #secretbaby
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: Five Deliciously Cute Stars*****
Oh my! I love, love, love Olive, the first release in the deliciously cute Baby Whisperers Series by Kate Kent! Kent has been one of my favorite go-to authors for years. I never tire of her heartwarming and always sexy paranormal romance filled to the brim with unique worlds, imaginative storylines, snappy dialogue, and endearing characters, and Olive, the first standalone novella in Kent's newest Baby Whisperer Series is certainly no exception. But I have a little confession. Quite honestly, secret baby romance has never been one of my favorite romance tropes but surprisingly, this story has become one of my all-time favorites from Kent. It completely stole my heart! There's just something about Kent's writing that always tugs at my heartstrings and in her usual heartwarming style, Kent has once again given her readers the perfect combination of laugh-out-loud humor, heart-wrenching angst, steamy passion, dreamy romance, and a whole lot of the 'feels', guaranteed to deliver several hours of satisfying entertainment. Olive is a sexy, fast-paced, well-crafted, easy to follow feel-good standalone paranormal romance, and it may be short, coming in at approximately 60 pages, but it packs quite a punch. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with clearly defined his and her perspectives from the two protagonists, bear shifter Trent Grizzard and lovely, curvaceous Julie Morton. The dialogue is smart, at times humorous, well executed, and flows effortlessly. But my favorite component of every Kent story is the cast of endearing characters. I adored Trent and Julie but wanted to smack them both upside the head but thankfully, it all worked out in the end! lol... These stories may be short but they're cute, fun, sweet, and always have a heartwarming ending.

Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain dreamy romance and steamy sex. If you enjoy paranormal romance and secret baby tropes, then you'll love Kent's Baby Whisperers Series. I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited and could have read this book for free, but I prefer to purchase her books for my permanent library so I can read them again and again. Kent is one of the few authors I automatically one-click. I never even read the blurb; I just snag it and start reading! That's quite a recommendation. And I've NEVER been disappointed in a Kate Kent story, she always delivers the goods! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Okay so this is a short very short story.

I was intrigued by the synopsis, but the short story itself fell super flat for me. The flow was so choppy and quick paced you can get a bit of whiplash with how it jumps in time and topic. Julie was annoying and immature, I’m surprised she wasn’t reprimanded for being so catty at work; she was quick to make snide comments, but never confronted the situation until Trent made her.

Trent was cute and downright filthy, I was totally loving him until that marking with no consent from Julie. He really marked Julie without talking to her about it and was confused as to why she was upset.

She gets pregnant and was able to hide it for 7 months! Are you serious? This man saw her everyday and never noticed her belly? Then when the truth is revealed about everything, the next scene is her giving birth.

It was just too much I couldn’t even enjoy it, I love short stories, but this was not flushed out enough for me. Some of the passages felt like they were written by a teenage boy, it felt so odd read them.

I liked this story. If you’re looking for a book that you could read in one sitting… whilst on the sofa with a brew (a cup of tea) then this book if for you. I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it either. Will I read the next book in the series? Yes I will. I wanted to see more of Trent and Julie together. For most of the book we saw Julie keep her pregnancy a secret and avoid Trent. I liked them when they were together and wanted to see more of that. If Trent had told Julie about his twin brother, Julie wouldn’t have avoided him and they would’ve gotten together quickly. Julie hid her pregnancy until she was seven months. SEVEN MONTHS. If I were Trent I would’ve been at least a little annoyed with what he had missed out on.

The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read. I will openly admit that I wanted more. When Julie told Trent of her pregnancy I wanted to see how he would react. Instead the story then jumped to her being in labour. Although the ending was sweet, I wanted a little insight to them becoming a couple.

Julie Morton and Trent Grizzard have been keeping their attraction for one another hidden. For months bear shifter Trent has held back his desires for Julie. Afraid that it will make their work environment awkward. When Trent’s sister throws a house party for her upcoming college graduation, Julie attends. Julie tries her hardest to keep her attraction for Trent hidden. When Trent finally makes a move and they get hot and heavy, he makes his claim for her known. Julie feels conflicted about his claiming of her and runs. But when she has a change of heart and heads back to the party her heart gets broken. When Julie see’s who she thinks is Trent having sex with another woman she is angered and hurt. After weeks of avoiding Trent, Julie gets another shock when she discovers she is carrying his baby. But with work life, the chance of a promotion and the confusion on what Trent did, she keeps the baby a secret. Trent is hurt and confused on why Julie has avoided him for months; will he ever learn her secret? Will Trent get his woman back?

TITLE OF BOOK: OLIVE: BABY WHISPERERS #1
AUTHOR OF BOOK: KATE KENT
DATE READ: MARCH 14, 2017

WILL TRENT GET A SECOND CHANCE WITH JULIE? OR WILL JULIE KEEP HIS BABY FROM HIM FOREVER?

Anyone who has read the works of Kate Kent know that she has a knack for writing works of sheer art that are short and to the point. I love her work and she is one of my favorite paranormal authors. I never turn down a chance to read on of her books, and “Olive” is no different. You do not want to miss this baby story. Besides, who can turn down the cute baby and Daddy on the cover of the book?

Julie Morton has been hurt in the past and she is not looking for a relationship, much less one with her HOT co-worker Trent Grizzard. She attends a party at Trent’s home with some of her other co-workers. Trent Grizzard is a bear shifter and he knows right off that Julie is the woman for him, but the two of the them know that fraternizing is frowned upon. But the chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. Trent talks her up to his room where they give into their desires. Trent is devastated when she leaves and only wanted the one night. But when she goes back to tell Trent that she has thought about it and she is willing to give them a chance she sees something that makes her think he was nothing but a jerk and used her. Now she has a little surprise growing in her belly and she is determined to keep it from Trent thinking he is a jerk and she wants nothing to do with him. Is Julie being fair to Trent no matter the circumstances? Can she keep the baby a secret? Is Trent the jerk she thinks he is, or was there a BIG misunderstanding?

No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy read voluntarily and love every moment of it.

Sweet Unexpected Baby

Short and sweet story about a bear shifter and his human fated mate who are separated due to a misunderstanding. Their relationship is complicated by an unexpected pregnancy and a competitive job situation. Character development was adequate for a short novella. After all, it is a fated mates story. I enjoyed this quick read. If you are looking for a good lunch time or bed time story, this is a good one. Enjoy!

Julie takes a chance...

Julie's last relationship ended for a darn good reason... yet she ends up taking a chance on Trent only to immediately wonder of she didn't just make an equally huge mistake.

Trent, the oldest of three kids, is used to being responsible and taking care of his family, no one ever said his family repaid him by making life easy.

I was given a free copy of this book without any expectations .Olive an enjoyable read with relateable characters that absorb you into their world .Trent and Julie are colleagues and though they are both attracted to one another their company has a rule about fraternizing among employees.During a party Trent and his siblings are throwing Trent and Julie give into the passion between them and Trent claims her as his mate. Julie freaks after her last boyfriend she doesn't like the way Trent just claimed her without permission. There is some mistaken identity that causes serious strain between the two both professionally and personally and add in a secret pregnancy and it's a wild ride to get to the happily ever after these two so deserve. My only complaint with this book is that I wish it had been longer I wasn't ready to say goodbye.O will definitely recommend this book to other adult paranormal romance lovers out there.

While I found this short story to be very enjoyable and entertaining read. I didn't care much for the miscommunication that kept the couple apart for months. Trent told Julie that they were mates but did nothing to really explain to Julie what it really means to be a shifter mate. They did see each other at work but still he really didn't do nothing to prove to Julie that she was really his. I don't blame Julie for thinking the worst of him. I also felt like maybe if they would've spent more time as a couple this miscommunication could've been prevented they really didn't get together to almost towards the ending of the book and since this was a short read the author should've have at least include it a epilogue so we could've at least get a glimpse of their future together. Overall I like the book but it could've been better. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in anyway.

Never Judge A Book By It's Cover!

This story has a message that a lot of people should learn to appreciate and practice. Communication is very important in a relationship, it could determine the path it takes, or could have taken.

Trent is very responsible and takes on the very mature task of looking after his siblings, but when it comes to his love life he has a lot to learn. He unknowingly finds his true mate and marks her, but then is thrown for a loop when she stops talking to him. Maybe a little truth serum would have gone a long way.

Julie doesn't trust men since having a few bad relationships and a cheating father, now when the real thing stares her right in the face, she won't accept it. and that may be her undoing. Never judge a book by it's cover.

Short, but sweet HEA

I'm loving the start of a new series from Kate Kent! Trent and Julie work together at AStarr, an advertising agency, and both are attracted to the other, but a company policy against fraternization keeps them apart, until it doesn't. A graduation party for Trent's little sister lowers inhibitions for both the bear shifter Trent and Julie, until he goes too far and she runs. Add in an unexpected pregnancy, an identical twin brother and vying for the same promotion and bonus to this story and it will make both Trent and Julie work to get the togetherness they both want. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
