Bad Billionaires #3

Rich Dirty Dangerous

Rate this book
I was a dead man the minute I inked her.

I’ve spent ten years as the ink man for the Black Dog MC. When a member wants ink, he comes to me — and I always obey. Because even when you’re not a brother, disobeying the Black Dog is deadly. So they own me.

And they also own her.

Dani. Beautiful, sweetly sensual, temptation incarnate. The president’s woman — completely off-limits. But when she comes to me for a tattoo, and begs me to get her out of the Black Dog before he kills her, my blood starts to burn for the first time in a decade. And when I realize my own reason for getting out — an inheritance from nowhere that will make me obscenely rich — I have to decide.

Stay, and we’ll both be sacrificed.
Run, and we’ll both have a price on our heads.
Take Dani, like she begs me to, and I might not live to see the morning.

Some things, I hear, are worth dying for.
Tonight is the night I find out.

Cavan Wilder is not so easily liked, mostly because of his decisions. His father left the family when he was little and his mother was murdered by her boyfriend. Cavan left behind his younger brother Devin (hero from Bad Billionaire) and disappeared. Now he works for the Mortorcycle Club as a tattoo artist.
Dani lives the bad consequences of her decision. Getting involved with criminals and abused she is desperate for a way out. She meets Cavan and begs/pressures to help her.

Both Cavan and Dani made wrong choices during their teen years. They try to escape their dangerous lives at the same time trying to keep their loved ones safe. I enjoyed the thrill of the chase. Dani's unexpected past was a surprise but I expected the secret to come out more with suspense not yelling on phone. This book is plotful and action packed than the first two books.

Among the billionaire themed books I read, these billionaire heroes are rough and rugged totally expected from men who suddenly have lots of money. They don't come out as posh, they continue in their old life style just with much fecilities. This main detail - being a billionaire - the author expressed it perfectly.

Read it second time and yes, it's still freaking good.

Original review.

I loved this book. You know why? Because of the characters.

I fell down this rabbit hole and ate up three books in almost one sitting a couple of days - and I must say, Ms. Kriss writes the best characters. Not only are they mature, they are honest with themselves. How often ist this not the case? They are flawed and complicated; they do stupid things, yet they own them - and Ms. Kriss made me fall in love in every one of those people.

Cavan:
That was me, good old Cavan. I’ll call you in the middle of the night after a decade, then lie about where I am so you won’t look for me. I’m a real fucking prince.
--
Dani:
Mom had no money for counselors or therapists or any of that stuff. My therapist, it turned out, had been seven long months under McMurphy’s hard thumb. Free of charge.

The heroine, Dani, this lost and damaged girl, who became a strong woman under not so ideal circumstances, was reevaluating her life and was so frank with herself, it was refreshing.
I don't want to give away much, but... The way the hero gave the heroine time and opportunity to find herself on her own made me extremely happy. This guy was amazing! I mean, the fact that he inherited shit load of money did not hurt the situation at all, but still.

I’d never loved anyone before, and I didn’t know what it meant. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do with love, except give it away, which was what I was doing.

Was it over the top at times? Sure. Do I care? Nope.

❛If you want a divorce, say the word, because I don’t own you and I never have. You own yourself. But until I hear that word from you, I consider myself married. To you. You know what? Even if you divorce me, I’ll still consider myself married to you. Until I die.❜

Cavan and Dani's story! Yay! This one was so sweet and I loved it! Tattoo artist meets damsel in distress and they fell in love! ♥♥♥ My favorite author this month and if the next book I'm going to read is as good as this one, I would be really happy!

Still super good but I didn't quit connect with Cavan and Dani as well as the previous couples. I have to say I really love these super alpha men that don't have to be loud or showy they are just complex contained intensity. Panty melting hot!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

And having read Book 1 and Book 2 again, of course I had to continue with Book 3

~~~~~~~
4.5 out of 5
The hero of this book is Cavan, older brother of Devin from the first book. You don’t have to have read the previous two books to read this one, but they are both most excellent so I’m thinking you should anyway. Bit of a backstory. Devin and Cavan had terrible childhoods. Their father disappeared early in their lives and their mother went from boyfriend to boyfriend until finally she was murdered by the last one. Eighteen year old Cavan took off leaving behind sixteen year old Devin. Devin and Cavan inherited a huge amount of money from an unknown grandfather. Devin got his share in the first book and has been looking for Cavan to make sure Cavan gets his. Cavan gets a brief chapter at the end of the second book and now this one is his story.
Cavan is associated with but not part of a vicious motorcycle gang. He’s their tattoo guy. While he has some autonomy, when they want something, he is expected to do it. So when the gang leader expects Cavan to do a tattoo on his old lady, Cavan really has no choice but to comply. He really figures he’s screwed and the president is a violently jealous guy and one finger in the wrong place could lead to serious trouble for Cavan. He’s left briefly alone with Dani and in that short amount of time she pleads with him to help her get away. Cavan is most reluctant to help, mostly because of the danger to them both, but she brings out the big guns and tells him she knows that people are looking for him and that’s he a new billionaire. Cavan agrees and thus begins their road trip to escape.
Before we learn the why, it’s been easy to not like Cavan. He left his younger brother alone at a time when Devin really needed him but we learn the why when Cavan begins telling Dani his story, we get to see why he did what he did and feel for the choices he made and why he made them.
And we learn some unexpected things about Dani’s past too while the two of them are trying to escape the gang that has a long reach.
As with the first two books, I loved this one. Cavan is a deliciously good hero and once he commits to helping Dani, he is all in. While he is very attracted to her, considering who she was involved with, he is patient and when the barriers do come down, very tender with her.
is wickedly good as a heroine. Though a number of years younger than Caven, about six or so, she is unusually mature for her age. She knows how incredibly stupid she was in getting involved with this nasty gang of criminals but is determined to get free. She feels bad for the pressure she put on Cavan but was desperate to get away before she was killed. She really does appreciate what she has in Cavan. I’m not a fan of millionaire/billionaire books and tend to pass on them very quickly when one comes up. But because these guys came late into their money, it’s not like they have any sense of entitlement or are spoiled in any way. They are rough and that’s the kind of hero I much prefer.
There is one more books left in the series, then I’m done. I’m going to be sad then as these books are so readable and so enjoyable and I’m quite impresses with the author Julie Kriss.
I will admit to being highly skeptical at first with the insta-lust/love but once the story took off, I was hooked.
I enjoyed that like book one Bad Billionaire, the couple in this story are separated for a time and the hero doesn’t screw around on her!!!! Hallelujah!!! Loved the character arc, the time they both spent getting to know themselves, and the overall love story.
I had read Dirty, Sweet and Wild a few months ago and knew I wanted to read more work by Julie Kriss. Even though it is part of the same series, this has quite a different feel to DS&W but was just as well written and captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and really liked both main characters. They are finely crafted and very believable, as was the insanely hot chemistry between them. That said this book has a good story and the love scenes are a small part of a wonderful whole.
The book starts with quite a POW and continues that way until the end. In fact I was surprised to see I had only a few chapters left to read, as the story was still building and didn't feel like it was anywhere near winding up. Often I can see where the plot is heading from a mile off, but in this book I had no idea. It isn't a mega twisty plot but it does have a few surprises and secret reveals. What it does instead is focus on the two main characters, Cavan and Dani, and despite MOST of the book covering a matter of days the intensity of their time together and the connection between them is very well portrayed and believable.
We get to see some other characters from this series, and I loved the bar scene towards the end of the book. I also found the second to last chapter so bittersweet but it also reflected how Cavan really got Dani, how much he cared for her and how much she needed that to happen. You'll understand what I mean when you read the book - and read it you should. It is well worth the time and money.
Dani a mixed up young lady who has been rebelling against her mum since she was a teenager, found herself mixed up in a dangerous life as the old lady of the president of the Black Dogs MC, he used and abused her and she knew if she didn't escape soon she'd end up dead.
Cavan is the tattoo artist for the Black Dogs. He has dark secrets that has kept him as a bit of loner. He did what the Black Dogs told him to do but he was no way a part of their club and neither did he want to be. When Cavan meets Dani for the first time whilst giving her her very first tattoo he knew he was a dead man. Falling for the old lady of the president of the Black Dogs gets the you killed.
Can Dani and Cavan find a way to escape their dangerous lives?
I loved this book. It's has a great plot, and I loved the main characters Dani and Cavan. They are both sweet deep down and you find you want them to succeed in reaching their dreams. It was a nice pleasant read with a great HEA ending!
Not as good as books 1 and 2 due to even more lack of character, romantic, and plot development. We spend 2 books with build up over a missing brother, and when he's found everything is fine in less than 5 pages? No. I'm a sucker for the lawyer, whose book is book 4, so I'll read it. Love the concept of this series. The plot potential is amazing. Wish the execution, specifically more development, was better.
I don't know what exactly it is about this author and this series but it's so fast paced, i think they're just now meeting for the first time and they're starting to develop feelings, they're talking about marriage and i pause to think "wait didn't the book just start?" and I look to see no, in fact it has been 60-70% already.
A relatively fun read but I didn't felt emotionally as invested.
But I did love how the h was worried about the H's past experience with women and not sure if she can live it up, and the H is all reassuring of her.
It warms the cockles of my heart during those scenes.
Not as strong as the first two in the series. The writing is still great, and the characters are compelling. I just didn't buy the love story portion of this one as completely as the first two. Cavan is pretty hot, though. So I stuck with it.
The sacrifices I make for my book heroes.
I have said it before and I'll say it again .. this series has a potential of being SO MUCH more..
This feels like a synopsis of a really good book. The plot needs to expand , the brother -brother relationship has so much that can be explored not to mention the female protagonist's past.
When Dani walks into Cavan's tattoo parlor, he knows he's in trouble. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous and the old lady of the leader of violent biker gang, but she also knows who he is. Knows more about him than even he knows... like where his brother is and that he's also a billionaire.
Wait... what? When did that happen?
She wants his help to escape the gang. And he knows that if he doesn't help her that she's likely to end up dead. And if the gang finds out about his inheritance, he'll end up in a world of hurt too.
Trigger warnings for those who need it: domestic abuse, physical abuse, non-con, excessive drinking, discussion of drug abuse, child abandonment, and more I'm likely forgetting. Please make sure you're in a good place before reading this.
I've really enjoyed the first two books of this series and I liked this book too but not as much as the first two books.
Cavan definitely has a bit of hero complex, and it does work for him. If you've read the previous books in the series, you know a lot of his history so the author doesn't spend a lot of time there... mostly adding things when needed. I felt frustrated with him at times because he did a lot of things that I felt put him and Dani in danger.
I really understood Dani's predicament and the strength it took to get out of an abusive situation. The man she is with at the beginning is a controlling, jealous abuser and a lot of what she does makes sense when you consider that background. Her history as being a neglected and rebellious child from a poor broken family with a father who is incarcerated also makes sense as to why she would fall in with a biker gang.
One thing I really liked was that the book acknowledged that Cavan has a hero complex, that Dani is super reliant on him to a point that it isn't necessarily healthy, and that sex and a relationship might not be best at that time. It's nice to see that kind of thing addressed. And I liked that Dani took several steps to save herself.
It's a good book. But there's a bit of instalove going on here that is not my favorite.
So because of that this gets:
Dual POV
Third Book in the Bad Billionaires series.
From the first scene the drama begins when Dani comes in to be tattooed but really in asking for help to run from her abusive boyfriend- the president of the motorcycle gang. She knows its life on the run or death if she stays. Unaware that his brother is looking for him to tell him about the money they have inherited, Dani spills and they both know if the gang find out they will use him for the money.
It doesn’t take long while on the run for tension between them to grow, but Cavan doesn’t know the real trouble he’s in until a phone call makes him question who Dani really is- the daughter of one of the biggest motorcycle gang, but he’s in to deep to save himself. He ran away once and he knew he can’t do it again, not to her. He does the only logical thing to save her. Marry her under the pretence that it's for protection only and not that its hoping to be more. Neither of them telling each other how they really feel until the day after when he’s left her to face her demons.But not before a long awaited reunion happens when he’s brother Devon tracks him down.
After Dani decides to pay a visit to her dad to save both her and Cavan, he tells her they need time to find themselves so she is sure of what she wants. After a long 6 months both are in a better place setting things for the future the only thing they are missing are each other and Dani is being restless but it turns out he’s already coming home to her.
I couldn’t wait to read Cavan book and it didn’t disappoint! The fact he let her go find herself knowing all he wanted was her! Julie Kriss once again out did herself- I love that the books are fast pace and not too long
Cavan & Dani
Holy hotness - these books! 🔥🔥 Author Julie Kriss has got it goin on and damn it doesn’t get any better 👄. Her writing and descriptions are EXACTLY how I like it. Loads of fkg 💥HOT chemistry, fkg 💥HOT alphas, an exciting storyline and just a sprinkling of angst - thank goodness! This whole series has made it onto my “Go for Round 2” list 😋.
I LOVE the way the author finishes each book w a HEA - but not necessarily a wedding. She weaves the REST of the HEA thru the sequential books, which is really smart. Nice work JK 🥂 😉.
Story: Cavan is Devon’s brother. He’s been working in Arizona for 10 years as the ink guy for an MC. When approached by the woman of the MC’s leader to help her escape, he doesn’t hesitate 💥❤️🔥💋🧨.
“His hand moved from my throat and up to my mouth, where he stroked that talented, magical thumb over my bottom lip. “You want that?” he asked, moving so his mouth was close to mine, his breath on me, his thumb between us, still stroking me. “Soft or dirty, baby?” he asked. My voice was a rasp. “Dirty,” I said.”
“He kissed the side of my neck again. “Get some rest. Round two starts in thirty minutes.”
Cavan and Dani’s dangerous escape unites an emotionally aloof tattoo artist who finds himself a reluctant hero and a terrified young runaway fleeing the captivity of a dangerous, abusive MC club Prez who rules with a deadly fist. It’s a pulse pounding, danger filled, race for survival where Cavan and Dani’s safety depends on a rusted out car and a mad dash across the desert where their every move is observed and reported by MC allies and their close proximity, emotional awareness is both tantalizing and revealing. There’s a lot of emotional depth to this author’s storytelling and her examination of disadvantaged characters and life’s morally grey issues are well worth exploring. I liked Cavan’s journey from apathy to selflessness, Dani’s returning bravery, and her determination to convince Cavan that the mistakes from his past don’t have to dictate his future. Fast paced storytelling, in depth character development, and a continuing storyline arc make this series a must read.
By the third book in the series, DIRTY RICH DANGEROUS, they catch up with Cavan, realizing he’d been a tattoo artist on the payroll for a motorcycle gang since he and Devon parted ways a decade ago. Only, now he’s on the run with the president’s old lady, Dani, who also happens to be the daughter of the founding president. It’s all very entailed, and very dangerous. This is a fun series, and while each of the books is a standalone, it helps to read them in order so you can keep up with the flow of the overarching story.
Podría decir que este libro me gustó pero no fue mi favorito! Como en todos los libros de la autora hubo un instalove y me pareció muy tierno la verdad!
Una de las cosas que destaco que es al final, que el protagonista le dio su tiempo para sanar sin el. Así ella iba a estar 100% segura de estar con el y que no fuera tipo dependencia o algo así por salvarla.
No tengo mucho que decir, me hubiese gustado más interacción con el hermano (que aún no lo leo)
Jajaja me leí esta serie por el final (con el abogado), pronto me leeré a Devan y Max!
I really enjoyed this book. Julie Kriss knows how to draw you into a story. I love bad boy billionaires and MC books so this was right up my ally combining the two. Dani was pulled into a world she had so business going into especially with who her daddy is. Cavan is very protective even thought in the beginning they weren't together. Get series so far!
Dani is shacked up with the MC's President. Cavan is the MC's inker. She asks him for help and he decides to help her since his life could be in jeopardy now. Eventually, these two hook up. :)
This is book 3 in the series, but I had no issues reading it on its own. I do want to go back and read the prior books now though.
Absolutely Great Read
I loved the dynamics between Dani and Cavan, they worked well together. Loved their story line. Glad that Cavan made the call to Max to have him warn Devon about trouble that may be coming his way.
Loved the interactions and conversations between Dani and Cavan.
This one starts out really strong and kind of peters out at the end. How do you pronounce Cavan? Long a or short a? And also there is quite a bit of violence against women mentioned in this book and enacted on the page. FYI.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about Cavan's book. Up to this point, we just knew he left when he was 18 and Devon was 16 after their mom died. He hasn't been around for 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised and loved Cavan and Dani's story.
I definitely enjoyed this more then the first two. It followed the same formula as the first two books in the series, instalove, conflict that gets solved very quickly and not much depth. But I still really liked this one. 💓
