I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Elizabeth Wilkinson is cold, she's hungry, and she's hit rock bottom. Having recently lost her home, she's now resorted to begging on the street just to try to fill her belly.

Sir Charles Doyle has money, but he also has a gambling problem. Having one too many drinks, he bet it all--his entire estate--on a backgammon game and lost. Glossop, the man he lost it all to, has given him a way out. He has seven days to turn a pauper into a submissive little girl.

I was skeptical at first on how this would be set up, whether the bet itself would be believable, but Lucy Wild does a good job of laying the foundation. The book is well-written, and she does a great job of showing the FMC's transformation from Lizzie into Little Beth. Charles' character shows growth as well, from a selfish member of the elite to a man willing to sacrifice his fortune if it means keeping Little Beth from further pain.

I did feel like there were some minor problems with the story. In the very beginning of her "training," Charles breaks his word to Little Beth, giving no more explanation than "I changed my mind." I felt like her trust in him was not only misplaced but also hard to believe because of this. Also, there's a part much later in the story when she says, "In all the time she'd been with him, he'd never given her a reason not to trust him but now he'd lied. And that's not exactly true...

The ending was a bit rushed, enabled by a confession much too easily gotten, and there was also a scene in a carriage that I think, perhaps, the author forgot she was wearing gloves (oops!).

All in all, though, this was a cute, quick, well-written age play story.

This is my first time reading a historical type of erotica book and I really really enjoyed it. It had a good storyline and a good amount of heat to it. This is my second book by Lucy Wild and I'm enjoying her books more and more.

Elizabeth is very down on her luck recently homeless, hungry and no other option other than begging she walks in a bar to get out of the cloud for a bit when she's approached by Sir Charles Doyle who has a serious gambling problem and basically lost everything he had after a drunken night. He has one option to get back his estate and that's where Elizabeth comes into play. He needs to get her to submit completely to him in 7 days!!

I honestly couldn't stand Sir Doyle in the beginning but, loved his evolution throughout the book. His bet was to get her to submit but, it was him who would do anything for her in the end.

I loved this book! Lizzie is a strong character who I admired. Charles is a privileged man who made a grave mistake. The author did a fantastic job of sharing their thoughts and feelings. Both characters were wrought with conflict that changed as the story progressed. The age play was not overdone as Charles offered Little Beth a second chance at childhood. The romance was bittersweet as our two characters come from different worlds. The suspense regarding the not so little wager lasted through the whole story. I highly recommend this well written book.

Yet again another well written story.

Elizabeth Wilkinson, homeless and feeling helpless, stumbles into a pub to warm herself by a fire when she is approached by the handsome Sir Charles Doyle.

Sir Doyle is quite the gambler. He finds himself caught in a wager that has the potential for him to lose everything. When the stakes are made, he doesn't know what to do.

The wager..... take a headstrong pauper and make her submit, be his little, in 7 days.

This is a DD/s story. If that isn't within your reading preferences or if you feel uncomfortable with this type of relationship, do not read.

***I was given an ARC for an honest review***
Although I felt that the end of the book ended abruptly, well.... left me wanting to know a bit more....I am giving this a solid 4 stars. It is well written, has a good back story and the characters have depth. I will continue to read more from Lucy Wild.

A Little Wager isn't my normal read, but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. While most reviewers were not impressed with how Charles acted in the beginning, it's nothing new to me in most books I read. I actually found him to be more compassionate than the company he kept. Unfortunate he had a gambling problem, but still a decent guy. Elizabeth is a strong character and I was rooting for her the entire time.

The age play was interesting, especially being set in the Victorian style era, very different from todays littles. The chemistry between Charles and Elizabeth was amazing and super hot. Their love for each other was slowly growing and it was so sweet when they realized it. I would say my only issue with this book was it felt rushed at the end and I think I wanted more of an epilogue. It was just a little abrupt is all. But this was a great first read for this author, I will definitely read more from her.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. So Charles Doyle is a spoiled little rich boy that does not know how to handle his liquor or his money. He instead gambles away his estate and the only way to pay his debt is to accept another stupid bet. Unfortunately, this bet involves the homeless Elizabeth. This young girl has already suffered enough in her lifetime and Charles has accepted a bet that he can make her into the perfect submissive little girl by the end of week. He lies to her and uses her which I find shameful. I will say that I love Elizabeth's character. She is a natural submissive and just wants to get off the streets. She accepts Charles offer and through her training, she falls in love with Charles. Again, I will say that I rather despise Charles for most of the book, but it was a different sort of read and was not a terrible book.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review, although i love me some lucy wild. Although this was a wonderful story well written and very entertaining about age play, i really did not like Sir Charles Doyle. I felt like he was lacking as a daddy. beth was extremely vulnerable and it felt as if her trust in him, the progress of their relationship was a bit rushed because really, what other options did she have? i liked him a tiny bit as the book progressed but over all i would have kicked him in a shin a bit. I cannot wait for more from lucy wild :)

Sir Charles Doyle a gambler who has no thought of anyone but himself until he gambles everything away in a drunken state at the high society club he belongs and has no choice but to accept a wager and train a woman into a submissive in 7 days.
Elizabeth Wilkinson is poor, homeless and not one person in the world she can turn to thrown out on the streets.
I thought at the beginning that Charles was selfish with no idea of what he was doing because they come from 2 different worlds and Elizabeth is such a strong willed woman always looking out for herself first, that need to protect until they start to grow on each other and the attraction is there they just have to realize how to deal with it during the training process and possibly give into each other and fight for what they truly want.I loved the depth of the characters coming from 2 different worlds and learning from each other as they go.I love Lucy Wilds Stories and cant wait for more

I AM IN CHARGE OF YOUR PLEASURE AND YOUR PAIN

A story of mystery, suspense, lies and deceit, with a night of heavy drinking and gambling, will leave one man holding a marker that will ruin another. A chance meeting of a young woman will spin this tale further into motion.

Sir Charles Doyle has a reputation as a notorious gambler and one night of heavy drinking, goading by another, and the stake included more than he could afford. Now the marker is being called due by Roderick Glossop. When given the opportunity to clear the marker, the stakes are higher, if he loses this time, it will be the entire Doyle estate.

Pauper Elizabeth Wilkinson has nothing and just trying to scrape by and keep her virtue is a daily challenge. With the rent man calling, trying to piece a blanket for shillings, and then to lose it all, she finds herself on the street begging for change. Her life has been nothing but pain and suffering until she is taken in the home of Sir Doyle and allowed to forget her worries and regress back to childhood, only this time it is happier.

The story will have two men wagering a bet, and Elizabeth being pulled into the fray innocently. Can a rich man take a street urchin into his home, train her to be little and submit to his every demand? The timeframe is only one week, the stakes are high, and the lives of many are affected. Charles has read about how to make a young woman submit and obey, but can he actually make it happen with Elizabeth? Will she become Little Beth and do his bidding? When the final conditions are laid out, and it will be totally humiliating for Little Beth, can Charles continue or call defeat? How far will two men go to get what they want with Elizabeth caught in the crosshairs? Is she a victim or the prize? There are several punishments, sexual scenes, anal, and age-play, but no intercourse.

Charles is truly a selfish and foolish man as the story opens and frankly they doesn't seem to be much to like about him except that he is a bit better than the company he keeps. And the irony in the name of the club he belongs too isn't lost on this reader either. Frankly, I think if I wasn't reading this as an ARC book I might have given up on this story after the first couple of chapters. But I'm so glad that I didn't give up on it. And so my recommendation is that if you stick with it there is much you will come to like about this story and it's characters.

Lizzie is a strong girl but she has been fighting for her own survival and is being worn down but the harshness of life. And because of other events in her life she becomes a pawn in a game played by men and putting her in the middle of a mess not of her making.

But in turning Lizzie into his Little Beth for the wrong reasons he begins to change and grow into the man he is meant to be. He proves himself a man of honor in trying to free Lizzie at great personal cost.

Lizzie for her part comes to first enjoy and then crave her new life but when circumstances demands it she shows her own strength and her willingness to fight for herself and the man she loves.

Lucy wild creates yet another D/D that can't be forgotten! Being the second book I've ever read from Lucy Wild, I must say I'm quite satisfied by "A Little Wager ".

In this book the author creates an unusual story with characters of great depth. Elizabeth Wilkinson was a poor orphan who was barely surviving on her own in the world . Charles was a member of the upstanding society with a great gambling problem. When a greedy rival plans to destroy Charles's wealth under the pretense of a gambling debt , poor Charles must play the cards he's been dealt , with Lizzie's life in the middle.

While trying to find loopholes in the already rigged wager, Charles falls in love with Elizabeth as she evolves into his submissive little Beth .Elizabeth falls in love with the man who she knows loves and cares for her , unlike anyone had ever did before. The two lovers sacrifice for each other until the end ; Charles gets to keep little Beth and his wealth without being doomed.

The book ends happily , leaving more to be wanted but in the end , a great piece from Lucy Wild that readers would enjoy!

Little Beth has fallen into hard times, until an unlikely meeting with a gentleman named Sir Doyle. She is immediately swept away, falling quickly for him, as he equally falls for her.. however, there's one problem... his little wager has possibly lost his entire wealth. Can he keep the girl and his worldly possessions, or has he finally gambled away everything he holds near and dear, including his Little Beth?

I am so glad I found this author!! Everything I've read by Lucy has been awesome!! Wild's characters are well developed, the writing is fluent with amazing flow, and she has such amazing talent when writing about the taboo world of Ddlg... There aren't many writers in the genre that can deliver it in such a way as to truly show the beauty of this kink, and so far Lucy has outwritten them all. I'm excited to see her upcoming works!!

Warning: This is a historical read with DD/s. If that isn't within your reading preferences do not read.
Elizabeth Wilkinson is a broken orphan. A homeless pauper who is cold & alone.
Sir Charles Doyle is a notorious gambler & is riding on a bet. What happens when a Sir Charles Doyle finds her begging & offers her a life of unbridled riches, she knows there must be a catch? You will have to read it yourself to find out.
This novel has a good back story & the characters are complex. A unrivaled novel that is edgy & sexy with a mixture of suspense. Although I felt the end of the book ended abruptly, it left me wanting to know more. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this novel.

It all started with a bet during a backgammon game. That turned into a little wager. Her name happened to be Elizabeth. Charles is suppose to be able to turn her into a submissive little in once week. In process he falls in love.

I'm not so sure what I think about Charles. He takes Elizabeth in, she hasn't eaten but for 2 little slices of bread in the last 3 days and he still doesn't feed her right away.

Well he finally redeems himself.
And there is a little suspense towards the end. Over all a pretty good read.

I have to say this book took me by surprise. I didn't think I would like it at first, then I absolutely fell in love with it. Sir Doyle may come across as a brute at first, but he is anything but that. Beth is just a natural submissive and they mesh really well together. I love how she found her true self and so did Sir Doyle for that matter. I absolutely love lg books and everything they stand for. Beth was one lucky little to have Sir Doyle as her master. The ending was perfect.

Elizabeth is young and on her own, getting tossed out of her apartment. Charles made a drunken wager that led to another kind of wager altogether, and ends up with her in his home to train, even calling her Little Beth. They formed a bond and rather both enjoyed what he set about to do. I don't usually read historical but after this I might! This book had surprises and suspense, was very unique, sexy, and interesting. I really liked it! This is my first book by Lucy Wild and definitely not my last.
I received an arc of this.

This is the first historical/Victorian book I've read with DD/lg. It was refreshing and steamy. Lizzie had been struggling for so long to survive on her own, and the only ones who wanted to help her wanted something in return that she wasn't willing to give. Charles was far from perfect, but he found something in Lizzie that he needed, craved, and Lizzie became little Beth. I didn't like Charles at first, but as the story progressed, he grew on me. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and enjoyed the DD/lg aspect. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

A young woman cold and hungry and all alone. She is trying to finish a blanket being made by hand to sell to a local trades mart so she can keep her room or the landlord
will throw her out. She notices another woman that is in similar straits begging for money, a thing that Elizabeth said she would never do. She catches the eye of Sir Charles Doyle and the rest is history. He learns to forfeit gambling and she learns to trust in another human being.

Sir Doyle is a gambler and in a drunken state gambled his whole estate on a backgammon game and lost. The only way out of the bet is if he came make a woman his little girl and get her to submit a girl. Elizabeth is a woman on the streets who is chosen to be that little girl. Sir Doyle goes through the motions but as he does he falls in love.

This is a sweet age play book which I really enjoyed.

A Little Wager is the first book I have read by Lucy. This was an ok read for me. It was a quick story. It got confusing at times with Elizabeth's character because she was called by three different names. A Little Wager is not what I would typically read but I am glad I gave it a chance. Looking forward to read more by Lucy.

This was a good book. I only gave it three stars because the beginning was slow, a little contrived, and hard to believe. But, once you get past that it is an excellent story. Charles is a highly unlikable character at the start of the novel, but he is redeemed by the end and I actually liked him very much. Lizzie was likable throughout the novel.

A LITTLE WAGER is a very well written book that is an easy read. I could almost feel how cold and desperate Little Beth was, the description was so great! The book is not an insta-love, it's more gradual over time. I enjoy variety personally, so this fits the bill! Sir Doyle is not a dictator either, he researches and learns as they grow. Take time to read this book...LUCY WILD IS ORIGINAL!

5 star must read

My first time reading this author, definitely won't be the last. Poor Izzy had to go through so much and had nobody. So when Sir Doyle got his hands on her she fell right into the little mind frame beautifully. The storyline was great, well written with characters you can't help but love

Although some aspects of age play make me uncomfortable, the storyline more than made up for it. I don't usually read historical but Lucy has a way of luring me in.
