In this new, sweet, clean, historical western Mail Order Brides series - Bride Adventures of the Four Michaels Sisters, you'll meet and get to know the four Michaels Annie, Melody, Rose and Penny. All four of them work long boring hours in front of a sewing machine at the factory. Gladly but nervously leaving the factory behind, they each set out on their brand new journey. Join with them through their times of trials and joy... In this second book of the series, you’ll get to know Melody, the second eldest of the four. She has chosen a young man named E.G. Shipley and is on her way to California. She arrives at his home; (well, actually, a mansion! ) only to find out from the butler and maids that her future husband isn't due back from his trip to England for a few more days. Soon after her arrival, a very heavy storm hits and a young man is washed up from the sea-alive, but with amnesia. They take him in and nurse him back to health, but still with no memory of who he is. Her husband-to-be also arrives home, but it turns out he is a harsh and unfriendly man and Melody is terrified of him. Not knowing what to do, a series of events eventually unfold before her, revealing the shocking truth of who each of these men actually are... * * *Find out what happens by downloading FREE with Kindle Unlimited!* * *
Melody is the second eldest sister, and decides upon a British man who lives in California. When she arrives at the castle-like mansion, E.G. Shipley is not back from his trip yet. In the meantime a huge hurricane like storm washes a young man up on the shore. Melody, along with a servant girl she befriended named Louise, rescue him. He has amnesia when wakes up, but seems to think his name is Eric. Melody and Eric become quite close. Then Master Shipley returns. He is definitely not what Melody was hoping for. She hoped Eric was her intended...
For the most part, this was a sweet, and fun story. However, there were just too many little things that I didn't understand. How did the imposter get by with no notice from all the townsfolk at the wedding? And Franklin...ugh. I kept wondering where he was all the time, and his reply at the end didn't endear himself to me.
3.5 stars rounded up for all the cute scenes with Eric and his lady.
