Psychologist Ruby is a self-professed serial dater who shows no signs of slowing or settling down.
But when a handsome stranger crashes her latest dead-end Tinder date, all her carefully laid plans start going out the window.
'Cause this guy is all muscles and manhood, and he's not taking no for an answer.
Too bad he's all wrong for her.
So why is she finding it so hard to walk away?
*Authors note: This standalone contemporary romance doesn't contain a cliffhanger or cheating... but it does contain an ending that will make you so happy your smile splits your face Xo
**Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book.**
Holy per-fuck-tion people! This was awesome.
And I don't even care that that isn't a real word. It fits this book perfectly. Can Hazel Kelly and Chloe Clark do wrong? Not that I've seen so far. I think I smiled more when reading this book than I do when watching videos with bulldog puppies. Seriously.
Ruby's dating life seems to be one terrible Tinder meet-up after another. And when she is desperate to escape her current dud, she sees a sign in the women's restroom that gives her hope. What is that hope? It turns out to be an Italian stud behind the bar who swoops in to save the day. Oh, and steal her heart in the process.
Geo is ready for the real thing and sees something in Ruby that he can't ignore. Even when she makes multiple attempts to get rid of him because she's convinced that she isn't ready for a serious relationship in this point of her life. Geo isn't giving up that easily. It's a battle of willpower that has some steamy consequences.
Confession time: I have a thing for Italian guys. I can't quite explain it, really. It could be the dark hair or maybe their deep appreciation with food--something I definitely share. It might be the fact that I am a big fan of anything related to the 50's and that slicked back hair is just a reminder of oldies music and hot rods. Fun fact: I married a blonde who is of Scottish descent. Not even close to Italian but I love him anyway... *wink*
Geo is everything that I would want a romance book hero to be. Humorous, thoughtful, ambitious, loyal, and caring. Notice that those traits aren't even physical. When you add his tattoos and unwillingness to let his woman go, I want to frickin' melt straight into the floor.
I even liked Ruby, though I wanted to literally slap her silly when she let her fear mess with her head. But I guess even psychologists need a good dose of therapy sometimes. Ruby's friend was a breath of fresh air, as far as secondary characters go. I was surprised and impressed with her honesty and courage to tell Ruby that she was acting a fool. Preach it, sister!
The story went by so fast that I ended up wanting more when I finished it. I could read another 100 pages of these two, Ruby going on disaster dates and Geo stepping in to save her. But the ending was satisfying, either way.
In closing... Another book to add to my favorites list. Five per-fuck-tion suns!
I was given this book as an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. I have read every book either written or co-written by Hazel Kelly and thus far, I have yet to come across one that I don't love nor do I expect that I ever will. The moment I started reading "Swiped", I was hooked and didn't stop until I read it all. This was an adorable love story between two people that I didn't expect and it included several "laugh out loud" moments, one of which is now a new favorite of mine. Although I will not say which one of those moments it is, I will give everyone a *hint as to what it happens to be when I say "his name"....that was freaking great!! Haha!! I recommend that everyone needs to read this book to find out what I'm talking about. You will not be disappointed
Another absolute smash from Hazel and Chloe. Would give it more that 5⭐️ If I could. Ruby is a serial tinder dater and they all seem to go wrong! She meets her latest date in a bar and is rescued by the handsome bar tender Geo. what will develop between the two of them? Will Ruby let her guard down and what secrets is Geo hiding?!? Have a read and find out. Such a great book and can not recommend this book enough. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I was really intrigued to see if Ruby would get her own book as when you read about her in Masquerade, you can tell that she’s such an outgoing character and has a bit of a wild side. I did find Ruby pretty interesting, so when I saw that Ruby had her own story to tell, I was over the moon. This book is completely different to Masquerade but it’s still unique and well written. Hazel Kelly and Chloe Clark make such a great team when co-writing and with each story they write, they just get better.
Ruby is the one that likes to make lists and pretty much live her life by them, if something pops up unexpectedly and it hasn’t been planned then Ruby will do what she can to make best of the situation by creating lists and going along with them. She has such a perfectly good job but during her spare time is when her wild side appears, yet she has such an addiction to the Tinder app. Now most people use this to normally get back into the dating game, however, for Ruby she just wants to go about have fun by going out on dates with *boys* as she isn’t ready to settle down. On one of these disastrous dates is where she meets the hot hunky Italian bartender Geo, something ignites inside them both and they can’t work out what it is until they see each other again, however Geo seems to have such a possessive streak…..
I hope that we get to hear more from both Cassie and Ruby as I feel like there is more of their stories to be told, they are both such amazing girls and have such amazing lives, I think it would be amazing to see more of them.
After reading Masquerade I wasn't sure about reading a sequel with some of the same characters. Swiped is a whole unique story of its own. I am Italian and love that this story had elements of home. Hazel even shares the backstory which makes this book all the more beautiful and special. This story continues to make me believe in true love. Read this book if you've ever had a bad date or second guessed your choices. It will probably put a smile on your face and some love in your heart. We all deserve a little "Geo" in our lives.
The shortest book of the second series of the chance encounter I read is called “Swiped” by Hazel Kelly and Chloe Clark. This book is very interesting, funny, sexy, romantic and very steamiest I ever read because it feels very special to me because I’m Italian, and I could relate to with the way they were attracted to each other at first sight because Ruby meets an Italian man named Geo. The story continues to inspire me and believes in true love at second chances. Ruby is a Psychologist and she comes into a bar and meet her tinder date then ditch him when a handsome Geo, an Italian bartender, and he saves her from her tinder date. He’s fit, smart, and unfortunately he also knows what he wants and he will get it. As a result, what happened with them two in the end? You can decide.
When I first started this, I was very interested... But once I got further in my interest fell. The story was entirely rushed. It's like watching bits and pieces of a movie... It was disappointing because the idea of the book was a good one.
Omg!! Gio is hot AF. Sexy bartender who is also Italian and he owns his own business. I want a gio too. Ruby is control freak who is scared of love until this sexy Italian crashes her date and turns her way of dating around. He's a real man who knows hot to treat a lady and she doesn't think she can handle that. I loved this book and I couldn't put it down.
Modern dating techniques have advanced to the point where a swipe of the finger can determine your next hook up. Serial dater Ruby loves a good swipe and chooses a bar as a safe place to meet her online dates. However, when she realises her date is not going well, a saviour comes to her rescue in the form of a very hot Italian bartendender named Geo. She decides to take her next date back to the same bar, only to have Geo lay his claim on her by getting hot and heavy in a supply closet behind the bar with her. Can this hookup become something more, Ruby thinks she is too young to settle into a serious relationship, but when the perfect guy comes knocking at your door offering the world, you can't say no right? Loved this latest collaboration.
When sexy Italian Geo saves Ruby from having to endure yet another boring date their flirting turns into more than she expected. I love this book it's a fun, sexy read although it's a standalone we met Ruby in Hazel and Chloe's previous book Masquerade where she's Cassie's best friend so it's great that she gets her own happy ever after. There's humour, self discovery, a tiny bit of angst, very funny dating nightmare's, oh and hot sex. Try it you won't be disappointed. I received this copy free for a voluntary review.
I have long been a fan of Hazel Kelly, and I absolutely love her collaboration's with Chloe Clark!! Another fantastic book by these two! A smokin hot Italian that no one in their right mind could ever resist! A fun, flirty, steamy read that does not disappoint!! If you haven't checked out these authors, do it now!! You won't be disappointed!!
I was received an ARC for an honest review....I love, love, love Geo and Ruby. A current take on boy meets girl. I couldn't put it down once I started. Being married long before the Tinder age, I found the dating scenarios amusing and much like what I have heard from my single friends. A well developed story with its ups and downs, I am left wanting to know more. Not in a bad way.... but I felt so connected and wanted to continue following them to see what happens next. Bravo again for another great read, looking forward to the next one!
Ruby by day is a Psychologist but out of hours she is a serial Tinder after, but without much luck. Geo is the guy behind the bar who helps her get out of a disastrous date. The only issue is neither can get the other out of there head. Do they get together? Can she stop her serial swiping?
What happens when you find Mr Right, years before your ready to grow up and settle down? Do you live by the old addage your parents use to tell you "if you set it free and it comes back to you it's yours to keep for ever!" or do you take a leap of faith on Mr Right screw timing...
Ruby - she's a psychologist but she's definitely got her own issues. She's a little in denial about them but she's not a stupid woman. I loved her friend Cassie for being her friend and calling her out on her BS. That's what friends are for.
Geo - goodness.......... a hot, sexy bartender is overdone but who cares when it's Geo. He's smart, sexy, dirty, and he's all about the woman. He's not a cheat, a liar, and the things he says to Ruby about relationships.... what is her problem?!?!? Seriously. "I will never waste your time and I will never break your heart." This guy is just all that and more. When he talks about taking her for a walk in his uncle's vineyard - the man is a Saint.
It's not a long drawn out story, there's some conflict, it doesn't go on and on, and it was just the right pick me up. Sweet, sexy, dirty, and a hero that's just THAT!
I absolutely loved this book. I am a hopeless romantic at heart, and I could only dream of being lucky enough to find myself in such a beautiful relationship. Ruby and Geo's story was sweet, sexy and romantic. They meet when Ruby, a serial Tinder dater, finds herself on a dead-end date. In the restroom, she sees a note taped to the bathroom stall door. It says that if you need help getting rid of a bad Tinder date, to go to the bar and ask for Angela. When she does, Ruby finds Angelo (Geo), the sexy Italian owner of the bar. He claims that women are more likely to ask for help from another woman. He started helping women get out of bad dates when his sister had a few bad experiences on Tinder dates. Ruby and Geo have instant chemistry. He asks what her name is, and tells her to go back to her table and play along. He helps get rid of the guy. Though she's attached to Geo, Ruby thinks that he's not her type, and that she's not ready for a relationship. But Geo pursues her, not taking no for an answer. You'll have to read the book to see what happens.
At the end of the book, Hazel Kelly wrote about how she came up with the idea of the note about Tinder dates. She also tells about a trip to Italy with her mother, and how that trip inspired her to write about an Italian man.
"The best things in life are the ones you don't see coming " and who would ever believe that Tinder would make it possible. Honestly I loved this book it was fun and romantic.
Hazel Kelly NEVER disappoints. Swiped is the 6th book of hers that I have read & I LOVE them all. This is the story of a handsome, fit, very worldly smart, Italian bartender that is Geo. Ruby has come into his bar to meet her Tinder date and then ultimately ditch him. You will read how Geo helps her out with that and how they fall into a one-sided relationship from that point. Promises are made, "I will NEVER waste your time" & "I will NEVER break your heart"! Swiped is funny, enlightening, romantic, steamy, and heart-breaking...........all the feels! I absolutely LOVED the book and Geo! Thank you, Hazel Kelly!
