[Siren Classic Erotic Alternative Fantasy Paranormal Romance, M/M, fae, gods, HEA] Yves is the second-born son of the late Fire Kingdom. He has lived his life battling constant restlessness and depression. He had always felt as though there was more, that there was something out there for him. His art was the only way he used to escape from his head. Norse god Apollo had been promised a mate. He just never imagined how long he'd have to wait for that promise to be fulfilled. Centuries passed but no mate showed up, more centuries passed until, finally, he felt the spark, a difference, and he knew...his mate had finally been born. From afar, he watched over his mate, saw the changes in the man and the struggles until it became more than the other man could withstand. Apollo then relocated to the Fae world to draw away his repressed emotions from his mate. He never intended to meet his mate until the coming out party, but a chance meeting changed all that, and soon they had to battle Yves doubts and insecurities before they could ever glean a bit of happiness. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

I'm not quite sure what I think about this book. I knew what I was in for, over the top intsa-love, so that was fine. But the plot is so confusing to me. I don't really understand the whole "wait 100 years" thing. I'm not sure I get the inter-dimensional travel. I don't know if Apollo's world is "Earth" as we know it, and if it is so different from the Fae world how did Yves know enough about Apollo to get the "Greek God" thing. I'm just so confused. It's not necessarily bad, I just couldn't move past these questions. I am fully aware that I shouldn't be thinking this deeply about it, I should just accept it for what it is but I can't. The characters were fine. They weren't remarkable and I didn't get anything particularly "love" filled between them, it seemed more like lust and less "soulmate"y (arrgh). I would've like more relationship building, but again I should know better. So if you want something light that doesn't require much thought if you can just go with the flow I'd recommend this.

This book is purely about fate and nothing more. It is a sweet romance about Fated mates findingnine another and starting their lives togther.

There is no mystery, no heartbreak, no murder, or anything else one might find in a book other then love. That is what this story is about plain and simple.....love.

The only thing this book could be said to have in it is yearning and the only reason for that is because both Apollo and Yves was yearning for the other while they had to wait the month long timeframe too Yves 100 year mark where Fated mates can come together and bond with the other.

There are consequences for those that do not follow the rules of the mating ritual so that is why the two yearned for one another. Because neither man was willing to doom their relationship and so they knew they had to wait the one month time frame. And it was not an easy feat either because they desperately wanted the other like they have never wanted anything in their lifetime.

This sweet read is one that leaves the reader all warm and fuzzy afterwards. It is a nice break up between mystery books and those with a lot of heartache. Today Aden nailed it in the romance department of this book.

Amazing! I love the fae world that Toby Aden has created. Adding the god Apollo is like the icing on a cake. Yves is such a sweet emotional young man. He feels deeply and expresses that through his paintings. To find that his mate is a good is overwhelming. Add to that the month long separation shortly after meeting, there will be some work for Apollo to do. Mixed in with that is an angry Aaeren. This is a deeper look at the wonderful worlds this author has created. I am even more excited for the next book.

naja, auch diese Geschichte um Feen riss mich nicht gerade vom Hocker, Liebelei zwischen einem Gott und einer Fee ohne jeglicher Spannung haben mich nicht überzeugt

This is the second book in a series. It can be read as a standalone, though there is a summary of events that occurred in book 1, so it does give some spoilers.

I was pretty disappointed by this book. I knew going in it was short, but I have read short stories that have been very satisfying. I knew going in it that one character was Fae and the other was a Greek god, which can be hit or miss for me. And this was definitely a miss for me. When I read about these kind of fantasy characters, world-building is something I expect. First, there is not much world-building other than some info download in the first chapter. And when I then read about them using showers and hair dryers, I feel cheated in a way. Why give us Fae/Greek god characters when the setting feels like it could’ve been in anywhere USA?

Yves is the second son of the Fire Kingdom. He is a Fae, and they feel the mating call after “coming out” in their 100th year. A fated pair feels the mating bond on first sight. Yves has always felt restless, but when he meets the Greek god Apollo, he realizes what he has been missing his whole life. However, he is not at his 100th year yet. The story is convoluted and the dialogue felt stilted. It just wasn't a win for me but I have heard good things about this author and would love to give another book a try, but maybe not from this same series.

This book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest.

I felt like I was reading a fairy tale the first couple of chapters. It just had that kind of flow. It's an easy simple read. Apollo, the Greak God gets a mate. In a world where the fae have rules about mating with some agonizing consequences if those rules are not followed, Apollo must wait until the proper time to claim Yves. But he shows up a little early due to sensing Yves distress.

By the blurb, I was expecting to read about a lot of emotional pain. This story doesn't really delve into all that. It's really just mentioned. Which kind of goes with the reading like a fairy tale. The two MCs meet, there is a small separation, Ives family is upset. They then come together and live happily ever after!

They only fault I have with this simple little story is that there was so little of any other characters. I would have liked to see more family of both sides. It would have made a more interesting read.
