They first met when they were just twelve, and then they kept meeting again and again, each time wanting to confess their feelings for each other – but it never came to such a pass for Tiya and Aarav.
Falling apart and bowing down to the miseries of a broken family and a daunting past, at 24, they decided to move on. But life pulled out one trick after another to bring them back to each other and give one last chance to do what they couldn't do in the past twelve years. A choice had to be made and there was no going back.
Could they learn from the echoing footsteps of their parents and speak their heart out or the fear of saying the unsaid killed it once again for them?
Did their time to fall in love come, or like always, they met, greeted and departed to part forever?

I am not good with Words as others are but yet i tried...
Mr. Sankalp Kohli--A Philosopher, Best Storyteller, A Friend, and a Guy age of 30 err..its only 26 who have experience of everything( I think so)..because A book is not A Idea of Author its something that touched his soul and made him to think about THE IDEA...
When i found You is a book of 180 pages to teach one life, family, love, happiness and lot much..
It's definitely not only a love story, it's much more than that.
Sankalp's writing skill is simply awesome..the way he use those poetic verses....OHHH!! Truly ADORABLE.
Some quotations from Mr. Philospher and his book that i loved badly enough to paste here.
1.Happiness is a fleeting sensation, if you are lucky, you might get a lot of it. P.no.15
2. Optimism can be a bitch. The ones who have it are happy in their own world and those dprived of it, feel jealous and small. P.no.104
3. Strange are the ways of the world. what u want, u never get. What u get is what u never had wanted. And when u get it, u realise that its the best for u. P.no.137
The book gives the life story of Aarav and Tiya, what happens in their life from the first day of each other meetings. The untold feelings between aarav and tiya. And also it beautifully describes the emotions of father and son. It's shows the importance of friendship.
After all these the author plays with words, he used it wonderfully it's hard to describe the story of a boy and girl from their class 6th to after they goes on to repudiated companies, author has said it so superbly from both sides. The poems he tried the new one and succeeded so well in it.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This book was beautifully written. I'm left speechless at this perfect piece, the writing feels so magnificent and the essence put into it cannot be compressed in words. This is most definitely a book I would read over and over and yet find amusing.
The story has a beautiful plot, it evolves around two souls, Aarav and Tiya. The story begins from their childhood, love is strongly sensed in their bond but will they ignore it? Will both of their fears drive them apart? Will they survive as one or will the wedge, obstacles claim victory?
Unfold the beautiful mystery, reading it. Trust me it's worthwhile, in fact it's more than that, its magnificent. I'm definitely looking into more of Sankalp Kohli.
‘When I Found You’ is not just your usual run-of-the-mill love story. Neither is it one of those I-have-read-it-before kind of a book. True, it does have its moment of boy meets girl, and all the mushiness that comes pre-packed with young dovey love, yet, it differs from the rest in the manner in which the story has been treated. It’s different ‘cause it doesn't adhere to the tried-and-tested formula that have been resorted to so often in the past. Sankalp Kohli, the bestselling author of ‘Because … Every Raindrop Is A Hope’ presents a sweet little romance in his second venture, and as expected, does a pretty decent job at it.
‘When I Found You’ is the story of Aarav and Tiya, the blossoming of their friendship, and the subsequent development of the feeling of love, hidden, unproposed and undeclared. The timeline ranges right from their schooldays, when they first meet each other in Class VI, to their adulthood, and explores the passage of their relationship over the years, the hardships they face, and the joys they experience, sometimes together, sometimes away from each other, yet, their paths crossing, and the chance meetings at various phases of their lives, giving an all new dimension to their relationship.
The author uses a dual character narration in the book, the story divided into different sections, told by either Aarav or Tiya. Thus, you gain a view of both the character’s mind, and their way of thinking. The author in this way successfully manages to characterize the protagonists, making you acquainted with them in a manner that you would know someone close to you. Delving into their mind also gives you the power of judging, as you play their actions in your head, and visualize if you had done anything else had you been in their place.
However, though this dual style of narration serves the development of the plot and the story-telling, it also hinders the flow at a few instances. Specially towards the first half of the book, you feel as if you are reading the same happening of events twice, with not much difference except in the tone of the narrators, one by Tiya, and the other by Aarav. Again, in the first half of the book, which deals mostly with their school days, the subtle traits of innocence are found missing that a young teen inherits in school. Perhaps, the author could have done a better job with the first half.
The second half, though, is tightly knitted, and along with Aarav and Tiya, you also get to know more about their families, and start feeling for them. Sankalp does a brilliant job in this part, his story-telling and choice of words impeccable, and the narration tends to be immaculate. The pace picks up, and you realize that this author certainly has the potential to deliver, and turn out as the winning horse in the near future.
This book excels at several moments, and at a few odd instances, you feel that the writer could have done better. However, do pick it up for the innovative story-line and the beautifully woven second half. This is a quick read, and will certainly serve you well on a lazy weekend.
Life is extremely complex. We never come to know why a particular thing happened. It takes time to perceive and overcome incidents in life. Some incidents leave an indelible mark on one’s mind which leads to depression. A depressed person feels low all the time and wishes to come around people full of optimism. Under depression people tend to lose their real self but as they struggle to move on they come across people who cheer them up, make them feel good. And after finding such people, they begin to discover their themselves; their real selves! Here I am done reading When I Found You I Found Myself, an enchanting novel by author Sankalp Kohli.
The book begins by introducing Aarav Mehra, an active school youngster who is all set to start new academic year. Having passed and promoted to sixth grade, Aarav feels good and gets excited to enjoy his school life. But this year, something is set to happen.
As Aarav’s glance falls on an innocent newcomer, during their school assembly, he feels something within him pounding and throbbing. Complete different feelings engulf him and he is unable get his glance off her. This charming girl is Tiya.
Tiya is an innocent student and an alluring girl. She keeps low as she witnesses an ugly fight between her parents, practically every day at her house. Soon, both Tiya and Aarav realize that they feel for each other but they never confess their feelings. Both move ahead in life with hidden feelings for each other. But occasions come when destiny provides them an opportunity to do what they couldn’t do all in these years. So, what do you think will happen? Will they make use of this opportunity? Will they settle ahead with each other in life? What is in store for them – love or hatred?
Questions tend to tickle but answers are only hidden in the story! I am sure you want to know more about their journey, right? Yeah! So, grab your copies of the book immediately, and take pleasures of reading it!
Over-all: The cover of the book is good and the title is amazing. The narration of the story is wonderful as it successfully holds a reader’s attention. The story moves on a comfortable pace which will lead readers to imbibe everything pretty well. The author went about with the story fantastically until the conclusion part. Here, the author should have extended the story further instead of concluding it as its ending goes a bit abrupt.
Recommending it to my readers, I would rate it with 4.25/5. Congratulations to the author and hope he comes up with more interesting books!
First and foremost I would like to thank the author for sending me a signed copy of this beautiful novel. The theme of this novel revolves around love, destiny, hope, betrayal, pain and unsaid /unexpressed feelings.
Overall I enjoyed it a lot and would surely recommend others to read it too!!
such a emotional story,a very heart touching tale,it's a nice read.....
it's about a cute school love story in the beginning where a boy came across a girl with whom he fell in love with but couldn't make out his actual feelings for her, there were many things from thinking about befriending her, then finally talking, becoming good friends n etc..it was not easy path for them, destiny had another plan to make them understand each other's importance..they had to go through different phases of life..
friendship, love, misunderstandings, jealousy, hatred every kind of emotions have been beautifully portrayed by the author..this book has a strong point where it can make you realize the importance of your family, what you should do in correct time without delay n without having hesitation for anything you should speak out what your heart wants...
1st part could be better depicted,,loved the climax..I've been given immense pleasure by exquisiteness of this story..
Life often takes people away from you, leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere. But does that make your love go pale? Does that stop you from doing things for your loved ones?NO, it doesn't. Continue loving them.Lost in their love, You will find your own self, meet new people, cherish the old ones, some one'll hate; Some you'll love But ensure you learn from both. And, someday, somewhere, sometime Life will bring your loved ones back, when you will be least expecting them, and when your time is right, Speak out those three little words. Don't waste time in thinking. Follow your intuition as it knows what's right for you. Life is short ,you might never get another chance. Speak up, right now, right here. Confess your likings. Confess your feelings. Confess your love!
rating:4/5 Charecters:tiya, aarav and avantika. Description: first i would like to say the author can play with words very well he always had some message in both his books dat the best thing about him. Here in this book he has tried his hands on poems n i will say he is 90% successfull. The story revolves aarav and tiya and there respective life. Each chapter has beautifull poems in the beginning and chatchy titles. Its a diffrent love story and author again has been successfull in putting emotions in every cherecter My best part was the diary and the very first poem. the downpart of the book is you feel dragging in 2nd half of the bookand i felt the end could have been better :) But overall you will have nice time reading it
Not everything is perfect. No human nor their emotions or their judgment are perfect.
It's a perfect story of two imperfect individuals. Their attitude towards life and their meticulous rise and downfall at times in handling the situation.
The book is very slow to read and the poetic verses are beautiful. The second half is a bit off color and the end is abrupt. But still the book holds the power to enchant the readers.
It's a no non-sense story of love and emotions. You won't be devoid of anything in the book.
jst finished WHEN I FOUND U. Different type written style by Sanklp Kohli compared to Because every Raindrop is a hope. This is quite veg type i mean no kissing, no datinf, bt overall story was so gd. i loved it. Till nw i had read his 2 books & after realized that a toucheyness u feel when u read it.you r cmpletly fall with d chracter and u want to realize that oh no damm this is my story that written by author. His dialouge on both two books r tremendas..want 2 say sanklp kohli keep rocking elder bro :)
A wonderful story with a great vocab and a nice moral in the end which teaches a lot about friendship and love.
The cover could have been better. There has been name goof-ups of two names Raghav later spelt as Raghvan and Tiya as Tia in Epilogue. Though some poems are good but some could be better as it doesn't sounds like poem but mere paragraphs broken into lines.
I would say the USP of this book is the wonderful story line that stands out against the few odds mentioned above.
Simple cover design, simple way of writing. the author has done a very good job in portraying the plot of the book in such a sober manner.. the story is about every second guy or girl in the world and is relateable at every point of it... this book is worth a one time read for all readers of the young generation
Nice Read. Two individuals love each other , care for each other so much.Still they are not able to figure out what they want from their life.Neither he nor she confesses their love. Whenever they tried to move on, their destiny used to bring them together each time thereby, keeping their feelings for the other alive.
A book which will make you emotional. A beautiful tale of two people who are unable to express their feelings for each other.Although destiny had given so much time to them. A wonderful Narration by the Author… A must read book...
The book has less conversations. It is filled full of one way thoughts. The narration is good. Every characters have emotions in them. A 1 time must read book.
a brilliantly written matured love story. you will b lost in the love-tale of aarav n tiya. must read for those looking forward to reading sensible books.
