Imagine a world where humour and imminent planetary destruction go hand in hand. Where technology is rapidly becoming the new ‘God’ worshipped by humanity. Where falling numbers of believers is threatening the very existence of Heaven, Hell, and Earth.
Imagine a sneaky plan, hatched by the Big Man himself, to pull humanity back from the brink of destruction. A plan that involves a powerful crystal known as The Eye of God. Created in Heaven and housed in a secret room in the Vatican. Its job? To tell us what to do if the balance of power between Heaven, Hell and Earth is ever threatened.
Well...The Eye just started talking. Sort of. And the threat just became real. Its name is Homer, a large sentient asteroid. Its job? To collide with Earth. As quickly as possible. Enter a crack team from Heaven, Hell, and Earth. Their job? To stop Homer, save everything and everyone. In 147 days. No wait, make that 30 days. Or maybe less...
I'm an ancient Scottish writer with with an eternal love of words I'm older than I'd like to be and younger than I should be at my age. I'm happily married with two grown-up sons who are better looking, more intelligent, and taller than I was at their age...or any age. My wife is the author Denise M. Main. Her talent puts mine to shame. One son is a personal trainer and nutritionist, the other is a sculptor. We have an adopted cat. I play a little chess. The cat doesn't, although she likes to watch.
Wow! Totally unexpected was this humorous satire that was both religious and science fiction. God and the Devil -- the beginning and the end; the two of them as the alpha and omega of the story was a surprise. It's an evenly paced story with a good plot, with angels, and oracle, and Jr (the Son of God) all making appearances through the 20+ chapters. Count the cliches as you read.
