So I dove into Trust is Everything with excitement, and the small investment of time to race through the book has already paid dividends. Much like I observed in their class, Karen & Aneil have a true gift for communicating the complex art of building trust in a clear, concise, and compelling way.
As a professional about to embark on a new stage of leadership in my career, I wanted to identify a simple framework to help me focus on first principles and build trust with my team. Trust is Everything is precisely that - is simple “how-to” guide that clearly outlines the principal elements of trust and offers clear & simple tools & advice on how to implement each step. Practically jargon-free, the book stands out from other books on leadership by its direct, practical, and personal approach. And it is by no means simply a “business book,” but rather a practical toolset for building trusting relationships in every walk of life.
This business success handbook is chock full of reasonable and common sense advice for the prospective trusted leader. It reads perhaps too easily and is logically ordered. I am a bit uncomfortable that so many conclusions are drawn from a handful of organizational examples. But even with that in mind, following the author's advice would likely improve any organization.
