Review for Nanny for His Niece

This was a sweet fast-paced romance that ended with great feels and a satisfyingly heartfelt conclusion. With the quickness of the romance and the slight lack of depth of Enrique I couldn't say I loved the story, but there were some really great elements here. 3.5 stars that I couldn't round up just yet.

Sarah's heart is so big and she has so much love to give that Amalia quickly comes out of her shell to embrace the wonderful little girl that she is. She opens up to her uncle Enrique as well which helps him to see beyond himself...sometimes. Sarah is also a strong woman who knows who she is, what she wants and deserves, and is determined to do what's right even if she has to keep a secret. I think she's a great character that we come to know very well in a short amount of time.

Enrique, however, is so obsessed with appearance and classes that he seems a relic of older times and it becomes hurtful, not just to Sarah, but to me as a reader that he can act like such a jerk sometimes. He's also quite blind to what he could have with Sarah, but what would a romance novel be without a little alpha male blindness, right? Anyway, he comes across as shallow both in the story and as a character because we get so little background and only get to see his prejudice, appetites, and closed heart for so much of the book. When he comes around and realizes what's best it's very sweet, tender, and definitely passionate.

For a short read this was quite enjoyable even though I wish there were more of a draw to the hero and not just the heroine. I read and reviewed this story as an ARC voluntarily. And will probably update this review as I read more of the collection.

I will review the rest of the novellas in this collection as I have time.

For now here is one review.I have read A Nanny for his Niece by Fiona Miers. It is a cute fast read and I loved it. Enrique Martinez was a hard man who was not sure what love was. He hired Sarah to be his nieces nanny. From the moment that they meant he was very attracted to her but to him appearances were everything. Sarah was this sweet woman who lost her parents and was looking for a family. This story is about Sarah finding her family while she knocks down the walls that Enrique has built around his heart. I loved this novella. Fiona Miers did a wonderful job with this book. I would highly recommend you give this box set a try.5 stars for sure.
I voluntarily received an ARC for my honest review.

Needed a good editor

Most of the stories were OK, but all of them could have used a good editor. Not sure why authors out out such junk. Don't they at least use proofreaders?

I want to be upfront, this boxed set has some great steamy scenes stories in it. The characters are fun and diverse and the Sex is hot, Hot, HOT!

However, there are some technical problems that knock it down a star right off the bat. For instance, this line from an actual story featured in this novel: “YourHer pouty lips are practically beggeding for hismy mouth and your. The glistening tissues were are more tempting that a gourmet feast.” I can tell what happened here, the author sent this out for editing but then didn't take the edit suggestions. The multiple errors in this sentence alone made me question the author and the boxed set as a whole. I would assume that prior to publication the whole boxed set gets looked over for consistency and a final spellcheck if nothing else. Spellcheck would have caught this. And to me, that is unforgivable.

In addition to the editing problems, some of the stories have dubious consent... a boss hitting on and touching a subordinate without getting verbal permission for instance. While there is no out and out non-con, people who have triggers in that direction should be careful and aware. In this instance, the writing was good and error free, however the dubious consent is a huge squick and that story earned a DNF which automatically drops it another star.

That being said, there's some good in here. The best story of the bunch was THE BEST MAN FOR LEAH by Caitlyn Lynch. I loved the main character and the sex was fantastic. Also the HEA hit me right in the feels. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more from her.

In all, there's likely a story here that will fit everyone's taste and the price is worth the gems, even if you have to sift through the chaff to find them.
