Knight. Party monster. Handsome Savage. Doesn’t do monogamy.
Elliot. Obsessive. Intense. Uncompromising.

Newly single, Knight is done with relationships. All he's interested in is bringing down The Count, an Internet personality who is tarnishing his family name. An opportunity to crush him comes when the audacious clown shows up at the Kings of Hell MC clubhouse to film for his YouTube channel. But when Knight meets Elliot, the man behind The Count, he no longer knows what to do with him.

Knight has never seen a more pathetic creature than Elliot. He’s also never met anyone who needed him more. Skinny, messed up, and a bucket of trouble as thick as tar, everything Elliot does seems to be a wordless death wish. No matter how much Knight hates Elliot’s alter ego, under the makeup and theatrics hides a fragile young guy with a passion for history, and Knight can’t help but catch Elliot every time he falls.

Elliot has bad taste in men. Always hopelessly attracted to violent brutes, his favorite is a long dead serial killer. But he gets more than he’s bargained for when he seizes an opportunity to meet the man of his dreams. The ghost is manipulative and dangerous, offering Elliot all he’s always wanted, for a price he can’t possibly pay.

Elliot is faced with an impossible choice between two men.
One alive, one dead.
One carnal and honest, one drizzling sweet, poisoned promises into his ear.
One unwilling to commit, the other promising an eternity together.
And Elliot doesn’t settle for half-measures. He craves a love that is all or nothing, passion that will consume him, and desire to burn him alive.
Elliot is ready to either get that, or die trying.

Ever since meeting Knight in Laurent and the Beast I couldn't wait to read this one and it definitely didn't disappoint. So much to love here,I couldn't read it fast enough.

Elliot cuts quite a lonely figure, living in a run down trailer he's always had a questionable taste in men. He's more than a bit obsessed with William Fane,a serial killer from hundreds of years ago. He's convinced Fane is not the villain everyone thinks he is and has a romanticized vision of him in his mind. Also know as The Count, his online persona, he's taken to the internet to voice his love of Fane and hatred of the Mercier family. When he learns that the remains of some of Fane's victims have been discovered in the grounds of the Kings of Hell property he's desperate to visit the site.

Knight(Travis Mercier) is a bit of a man slut-into men and women, the last thing he wants is the complication of any kind of a relationship. He's fascinated by his bloodline and the history of the Mercier family. He's more than aware of the hatred Elliot is trying to generate online towards the Mercier name and can't quite believe it when Elliot shows up in the grounds of the club dressed as The Count.

As the story progresses Knight and Elliot are increasingly drawn to each other and not just sexually. There's a delicious mix of sweetness and sexiness from the ridiculous sandwiches Elliot insists on making for Knight to Knight's over protective nature kicking in where Elliot is concerned. But Knight's patience is about to be severely tested when Elliot reaches out to Fane on his own....

The supporting characters all play their part here and I'm probably in the minority but I absolutely loved the part a certain villainous ghost played-some of the one liners were brilliant!

And then there's Laurent,I honestly couldn't love him more,I could read about him forever....

Just a little bit of mystery surrounding Jake,I'm really looking forward to his story but the one who has me most intrigued is Gray.....

Another absolute winner from these highly talented Authors whose writing just gets better and better.

Highly Recommended!!

5 what the fuckery stars!

Once again these ladies have gone and written a book that takes you places that you didn't know you wanted to go until you got there. They have a way of making crazy seem sane. They create characters you end up loving when it was hard to fathom that you could even like them. It amazes me every time that they can achieve all that over and over again with every new book I read by them.

This was a tale of an unorthodox love story.

I was intrigued by Knight in the first book and couldn't wait to read more about him. I absolutely loved him and his chivalrous ways. He definitely lived up to his nick name. As the VP to the Kings Of Hell MC he has been given a lot more responsibilities that has him feeling overwhelmed at times. But he likes being needed and depended on. He likes the attention his status gives him. He likes being able to get his rocks off with the boys and gals. He likes his freedom. But so much of that changes when he finds The Count (Elliot) trespassing more than once and later comes to his rescue. Knight becomes distracted from his VP duties especially when the young Elliot is in constant need of rescuing. In the end Knight takes on Elliot as his responsibility feeling like he is the only one that can keep this young man safe. Little did he know taking on Elliot would bring both of these men more trouble than they both probably thought possible.

Elliot is quite a lonely soul living in a rundown trailer. He is basically skin and bones barely being able to afford to feed himself. He makes his money from his youtube channel as, The Count where he chats about his obsession; William Fane. When he was a teen feeling misunderstood and lonely he found himself in a serial killer chat room where he met a group called, Faneatics. Here is where he learned of William Fane and the obsession began. Elliot romanticizes William and feels like he and William would have been a perfect fit. Elliot believes he has a connection with this serial killer and that the man is misunderstood. Oh, how wrong he is and soon finds out the hard way...

To say the relationship between Knight and Elliot is complicated is an understatement. They are attracted to each other and have a deep connection. Elliot is completely enthralled by Knight, but Knight isn't the committing kind. Hell, he isn't even the kissing a boy kind. But the pull to Elliot is undeniable even if confusing for Knight. Elliot is needy and a bit of a brat. Knight is set in his ways and doesn't see them changing. So it leaves their "relationship" up in the air most of the time. What is undeniable is how sweet they are when they are together. Knight is swoon worthy in how he protects and takes care of Elliot. I just adored these two together.

They started out as Knight and The Count; Enemies. They ended as Travis and Elliot; lovers.

I enjoyed the twisted ghost parts of this story, but I don't want to say much because I feel it would spoil it for those of you who want to read it. Just know that it was gory and awesome!

Now on to Beast and Laurent. I was happy to get quite of bit of them in this book even if Beast was mostly growly the entire time. He was growly for good reasons though. What I really loved is what we got at the end of the book. Thank you ladies for putting that in cause I really wanted to witness how that went down! LOVED!!!

OK dolls! If you are a fan of these authors and have read the first book, you are FOR SURE going to enjoy this one. Pick it up! I look forward to reading your thoughts on it!

Happy reading dolls! xx

PREPARE: sadistic ghosts, violence, lies, murder, injury, betrayal, jealousy.

This is not a love story.

Knight, the VP of the Kings of Hell, does not do monogamy. He fucks around with every pretty thing that comes his way.

Elliot is a lost boy. As the Count, he's snarky and self-assured, but behind the wig and cheap, garish makeup lies a damaged soul who just wants to belong. Elliot worships William Fane, the sociopathic serial killer.

Elliot wants someone to own him and romanticizes Fane's brand of love: the kind that tortures and demeans, the kind that hurts and breaks.

That isn't love, of course, but Elliot has only ever known pain and loss and fear. He escapes in the macabre world of his imagination, where a sick, twisted love is better than no love at all.

Knight and Elliot clash at first sight, but they can't deny the lust and emotional connection building between them. Elliot falls to his knees when Knight snaps his fingers. He's the one person who is as fascinated with history as Knight is.

And there's a reason Knight has the name he does; he's a born protector and rescues Elliot time and again, even in the face of Beast's wrath. What Knight won't do is commit. He panics when Beast hints that Elliot is his. And Elliot, like a wounded animal, lashes out.

Initially, my heart broke for Elliot, but that empathy wasn't easy to maintain. Elliot often acts bratty, impulsive, and entitled. He makes some seriously bad choices, the consequences of which almost destroy the Kings of Hell.

That's not to say the Kings of Hell don't make dangerous choices of their own. They treat Elliot like a pawn in a demonic game. Granted, Elliot's delusions cross the threshold into madness, but helping him becomes an ill-conceived, disastrous experiment.

Jake the prospect plays a fairly big role in this book; he's still sucking any dick that comes his way and vies with Elliot for Knight's attention. Beast and Laurent are very present as well. We see the not so nice side of Beast, although his actions are motivated by fear for Laurent.

The main secondary character, however, is . He's the "other man" mentioned in the blurb, and he's a sick fuck. I was so frustrated with Elliot for falling prey to his charms, and even more frustrated with the constant, relentless cruelty he unleashed on Elliot.

This is a fast-paced, intricately plotted story with complex characters. Once I got to 60 percent, I couldn't stop reading.

The sex scenes are dirty and plentiful, and almost always in the most inappropriate times and places. Who gets turned on with blood and guts on their hands? Forget the sweetness; this is all about the brutal, intense fucking.

The gore and betrayal made me sick. Knight and Elliot say some horrible things to each other, and Elliot pays for his mistakes with the most gruesome of ways.

One thing is certain: My Dark Knight is a creepy take on romance, a fucked-up, sexy thrill ride—an exploration of the human psyche and the ghosts that haunt us all.

The book follows Elliot and Knight, two people at opposite ends of an internet debate about a serial killer who lived and died over 200 years ago. Elliot is obsessed with the killer and thinks he was severely misunderstood; he beliefs that the killer had good reasons for murdering his victims, and that he was simply lonely and abused by those he tried to love, and he admires him for taking control into his own hands, and fighting back against those who wronged him. Knight, on the other hand, is very passionate about putting the truth about this killer out there, because he is a descendant of the killer's last victim.
Of course, Elliot is entirely misguided in his delusions about this serial killer, but his reasons for feeling this way are very sad and, in a way, almost understandable. He has so many issues and he has been abused all his life, so he wants to look up to someone who he beliefs fought for himself and against those who hurt him. I did get it, because I really did feel very sorry for this messed-up, lonely, sad, and abused young man. I know for a fact he never would have felt this way if only a single person would have shown him love in his life.

Obviously, the set-up for these two characters sounds like it couldn't possible work out. A delusional guy who is in love with a serial killer and a history fanatic who wants to purify his descendant's name? They are at opposite ends of the spectrum, and Knight truly hates Elliot when he only knows about him from the internet. However, when they meet, Knight soon finds out that the guy behind the mask is a vulnerable man who is in desperate need of love and care. He sees that his misguided ideas are not based on a sick or sadistic mind, but on loneliness and vulnerability, and that's why he quickly realises he wants better for him. He wants to make him feel cared for, and hopes he can heal him that way. However, Knight also has issues of his own, as he is incapable of commitment, so when they grow closer and closer, and Elliot wants more, Knight is not sure he can give that to him, therefore making Elliot feel like he isn't enough after all, leading Elliot back to his love for the killer, who, he finds out, just so happens to be living as a ghost in the basement of his old home.

Honestly, this book had a lot of potential, because it had a unique premise and a lot of hurt/comfort, but it was just too much sex and too much of the same being repeated over and over again. I did see growth in these guys as individuals, but I also wanted to see more progression in their relationship; why did they fall in love, really? Was it just because Knight wanted to take care of someone, and because Elliot was hard-wired to fall for anyone who would give him even the slightest bit of attention? I just wanted more depth, and not constant sex or drawn-out descriptions of things I didn't care about. The execution was simply lacking for me: It was too weird, smutty, dragged out, and repetitive.

The book didn't turn out as all I had wanted it to be. And I thank Morgana for warning me of that. Just the characters of Knight and Elliott were enough to drive me against a wall with my nails bleeding trying to hold on to my sanity.

I skim read the whole book, foregoing descriptions and non-conversational parts, except for those who had some action or movement in them. I didn't want to get lagged behind by reading inane information.

The only plus points were the progression of the plot on the devil front. I was curious about what all deals would be made with it, and I got that.

Other than this, the one thing I loved was the last chapter, "The Engagement". That's all, folks... *deep, regretful sigh*

Though I would love to read Jake's story next. I quite liked him in both the books...

Well, these ladies have finally done it. They managed to write a story that pushed my boundaries far enough to actually make me uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, it's the same quality of story with morally ambiguous characters that fans of this duo, including myself, know and love, but Elliot's obsession with and adoration of a serial killer, especially when he thought that William Fane actually engaged in cannibalism, just made me cringe. So color me impressed because those that know me, know that my boundaries are few.

However, it took me the longest time to actually connect with Elliot, for that reason and a couple others. It did happen eventually, but damn he didn't make it easy. He really wasn't very bright and his self esteem was nonexistent. The boy clearly had a death wish. He'd get a thought in his head and just act on it, and the more dangerous the idea was, the faster he'd run towards it. And if he was feeling sorry for himself, he was even more careless, if that's even possible. He's seriously lucky he has managed to live as long as he has.

Elliot was also a staunch believer that Fane was actually a victim. Yep, he actually believed that this monster, who had tortured and killed at least 30 young men was a victim who was just looking for love. I just can't even... It strains credulity, the kind of faith that Elliot had in Fane, for the longest time. Now, I do realize that there are people out there that get caught up in the mystique of serial killers, but count that among the things that I do not and probably never will get.

Knight is a protector. He sees someone weaker than himself and he can't help but want to shelter them. Even when that person is his online arch-nemesis. I loved his dedication to finding the truth, too, even as he was too indulging of Elliot's obsession. Knight's biggest flaw really was his insistence that he wasn't interested in monogamy, at all. That, in and of itself, is fine, but he sent so many mixed signals to Elliot, whom he knew was someone who attaches himself to those who give him attention and affection.

If you've read Laurent and the Beast, you know that there are paranormal elements in this series. The Kings of Hell have renewed a deal with the devil, in order to save someone that was dear. What else might lurk in these shadows?

In My Dark Knight, Knight is the knight-in-somewhat-tarnished-armor that, after meeting the Count in person and then getting to know the real Elliot, is determined to rescue the man, over and over again, until Elliot finally learns to not be such an idiot. Knight has far more patience than I. But he and his fellow Kings of Hell made just as many mistakes, when it came down to it. Especially in the latter half of the book, I found myself questioning why they would endanger themselves and Elliot, when they have no plan or method to fix the root of the problem and the interim solution was so very clear. It baffled me, honestly.

I would not recommend reading My Dark Knight as a standalone story. All the world building is in Laurent and the Beast and trust me, you do not want to miss it. Plus, Laurent and the Beast is really a fantastic story that you're not going to want to miss.

These authors truly know no boundaries -- My Dark Knight was a gruesome story in so many ways, including tendencies for the MC's to get busy at the most inappropriate times. And while I liked Laurent and the Beast more, My Dark Knight is still an indecent addition to this series. Recommended only to those with strong stomachs that love the gruesome inappropriateness that this writing duo specializes in.

Dark, gritty, twisted, and at times creepy AF, My Dark Knight was the perfect follow up to the weird, wonderful, and wholly original Laurent and the Beast.

This time around, the story follows the Kings of Hell MC Vice President, Knight, as he becomes physically and emotionally entangled with his once online-enemy, The Count — a troubled young man named Elliot who runs a YouTube channel dedicated to the life and actions of serial killer William Fane (who we learnt all about in book one).

Elliot is obsessed, truly believing that Fane was some kind of wronged hero, going so far as to make online claims that Laurent Mercier was the true monster. It’s not going too far to say that Elliot is pretty warped, mentally speaking. His father was an abusive mongrel and his past boyfriends have been anything but loving or caring, all impacting Elliot’s fairly twisted ideas of love and relationships. He so desperately wants to be consumed by another person, mind, body and soul, but his perception of what that entails is all kinds of backwards and messed up and he’s been going about it in all the wrong ways.

When Elliot gets rescued not once but twice by Knight, he develops a bit of a crush. Soon enough, through circumstance, Elliot finds himself living at the Kings of Hell club house — the old William Fane mansion — growing closer to Knight, initially through a shared love of history, and later on a physical level that is positively combustible.

Problem is, Knight doesn’t do monogamy, so getting him to acknowledge or accept that what he shares with Elliot is something beyond the ordinary and worth fighting for is an uphill battle of epic proportions for the wild and sexually free biker. But when the ghost of William Fane starts haunting Elliot and causing strife for the club, Knight must man-up and do what he does best — being a knight in shining armour and saving the god damn day!

This series is truly something else! It’s all deranged, crazy fun, but with an immersive plot, featuring some awesome and spooky paranormal elements, and great, albeit unconventional, relationship dynamics. Truly, I was completely transfixed by this story, with its riveting prose and it’s deliciously dark, complex, and wonderfully twisted characters. It may have been almost 500 pages long, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Usually, being such a traditionalist in my romance reading, I often come across Merikan’s synopses and assume their stories will be too disturbing or unconventional for me, but time and time again, I push my own boundaries and pick up their books, always coming away from the experience feeling challenged and enriched. These themes and characters might not be my norm, that’s for sure, but Kat and Agnes make it work for me, every single time! Whatever dark magic they’re wielding, I’m spellbound by it.

Imaginative, disturbing, insane, intense but with a dash of humour, and gruesomely beautiful, My Dark Knight is a masterpiece, if dark romance is your thing. K.A.Merikan's ability to write romance that can be found in the most impossible places, between the most twisted characters will never cease to amaze me. My Dark Knight is this kind of story. But make no mistake, it is romance.

Sometimes sweet....
“Never let me go,” Elliot whispered.[...]

“I won’t. I love you.” Elliot kissed Knight under the jaw, and it was so sweet it made Knight’s body tremble.

Sometimes dirty...
"For Knight, he could totally be a slut, a bitch, and a fuckhole. Every day. All day."

Sometimes skin crawling...
“I’m all yours. Anything you want is yours. You can fucking skin me and wear me as your new cut. I don’t care.”

The dichotomy in Elliot's character is magnificent. I understood early on that The Count, Elliot's alter ego who worships William Fane, is just façade, a way for Elliot to hide his self esteem and the hurt from years and years of abuse. Still, though, I had no idea how I'd manage to sympathize or at least care for him as a character, because well...he was in love with a serial killer!

I needn't have worried. The authors did an amazing job redeeming him. I will not spoil the story, but trust me, Elliot learnt his lesson. There will be only one person for Elliot from now on...his dark knight.

Knight got his nickname because of his need to protect others. And how can he resist when he finds out who hides behind The Count? Knight might be a self-proclaimed whore, but I honestly didn't see that in this book. Elliot was supposed to be the obsessive one, but it was clear that the commitment issues were only in Knight's head, and that as soon as he got together with Elliot, there was nobody else for him.

I adore the secondary characters in this series. Laurent still loves plastic, and Beast still loves Laurent! I'm so looking forward to Jack's story. And Gray is very intriguing as well.

Kings of Hell is one of my favorite series, which I never thought possible because I rarely do paranormal, and the paranormal element is very present here. It's not just the demon now, there are ghosts as well. Sometimes they flash their boobs too!

I recommend against reading this as a standalone. The romance might make some sense to you, but I suggest you read Laurent and the Beast first, to get a proper feel of the setting.

Needless to say, highly recommended!

Holy smokes .... I stayed up till 5am reading this book in one hit so it had to be 5 stars for me to forgo sleep ! I didn't quite know the full outline of this book other than I adored Laurent & Beast, but I knew I was all in. I wondered where it would head ... and it was cleverly towards Fane ! What a delight. This was an enticing storyline. Fane was a real fucker, Elliot was a mixed up pain slut / victim and Knight was a gentle softie under his gruff and bravado. Their love of history brought these two together, from opposite sides to begin, then Fane found a way to sneak in... and boy did he sneak in ! No spoilers given but I must say KA Merikan have become insta buy for me, they are quirky and aren't afraid to write about bizarre topics. Loved this book ❤️

I'm glad I changed my mind and decided to read Knight's book!
I was curious to keep track of who would be the guy who would put reins on Travis' naughty dick😅Was An EMO WHO LIKES SERIAL KILLER ( It had to be something different to make Knight like monogamy) 😎

I read without waiting too long, I thought knight would never change and would continue with these orgies with brainless whores ( For instance Nao). Being an evolved woman is not being around all the time spreading legs to males, I'm lazy of women who think evolution is being a whore, no, isn't it!

This view of some MM authors really bothers me, most women have no brainin these stories. It's embarrassing!

I liked the chemistry between Knight and Elliot, they had some really nice scenes to read. Knight's a hot men , Elliot's not far behind.

The scenes with Fane were supposed to make you laugh? The guy's so boring, he's kind of funny.
I felt sorry for Elliot but laughed at a few moments of Fane tormenting him

It was a good book!!

This is a spooky love story. A book about needs, ghosts, evilness and revenge where the realm of the living and the death coexist and mess with each other.

This second installment in the Kings of Hell series tells us the story of Knight *sighs* and Elliot, The Count, his nemesis, a crazy fan of a murderer who is not just Knight´s enemy, but also the club's and, especially Laurent's.

This is a complicated and dark story. A bizarre and amazing enemies to lovers that wins all the sinister awards but also, stands out in other categories:

Plot: entertaining story perfectly driven by two unique and complex characters.

The cast in general is brilliant and it is good, so good, to see Laurent and Beast again and their fantastic relationship.

Love story development: they fight each other, Knight fights his feelings, Elliot fights against an unfair world, and in the craziness that their lives are, you can perceive the evolution from infatuation to something else. There is need and jealousy and, above everything, there is love.

Dirty talking, my thing. They are very vocal. Filthy and naughty talkers. Usually I do not highlight the sex scenes because they are not my favorite part in a book but these two deserve a special mention in this award ceremony. Hot, hoter, hotest!

Dark humor. So funny in the middle of the weirdest situations. And let me tell you: this book is fool of that weird and twisted situations.

As I said, the plot is super entertaining. It is also absorbent, creepy and oh so twisted. I loved it. This is a book very well written and with a fantastic pace. You are in it, you live the experience with them, you are not a mere reader, it is as if you were a hangaround living the whole thing in first person (just not as slutty. Well, you can be all the slutty you want)

The depth of the characters is remarkable too. They are so well done, and their staging so well executed, it's imposible not to love them with their flaws and imperfections. (A lot of flaws and imperfections).

Elliot is a singular character. He is so peculiar, so crazy that sometimes I just wanted to kill him with my bare hands and ditch him without looking back. But the truth is that I loved Elliot despite of his flaws (or maybe because of them). He needed to be love, to feel he belongs somewhere, to someone. He just wanted one person to stand up and yell he worth living. Loneliness played its big roll here. Solitude is what unleashed all the dead-kinda-schizophrenic-show, but I couldn't hate him for the hell he unchained. He didn't want to be alone and ta-daah! Not lonely anymore, dear Count!

Oh, my WHITE Knight! What a perfect name he was given. He is a savior who rescues damsels in distress. Only this time he rescued a crazy guy with a cannibalistic fixation, and a extremely annoying love for a serial killer.

Knight is a good guy. Sure, he is a dirty manwhore with compromise issues or, more exactly, monogamous fears. But he's also super funny, kind and patient. He is a protector, a bit obsessed with his ancestors but I can forgive him for that. I can forgive him for everything, I´m sold, He bought me in Book One.

One of the things that attracted me the most is that the humor can be found in the weirdest places. They talk about dark and scary things with amusement and using a light tone that contrasted brilliantly with the creepy atmosphere. Beast and knight interactions are specially good.

"We're just...partners in research. That´s all"

Beast did a double take at Knight.

"What are you two researching? How many positions can guys fuck in untill someone loses an eye?"

Highly recommend!

Now, I´m preparing myself for the next ride: my committed, servant and slutty Jake. What is gonna happen to you, huh? What this hell in earth has prepared to haunt you? I can´t wait!

Advice to readers: This book can't be read as a standalone. Laurent and Beast's story  is needed to enjoy and fully understand this second installment .

I honestly don't know where to start with this one there are so many parts where I was left with my jaw dropping or thinking 'did I really just read that?!' and picking just one out seems like a disservice to the rest.

So, I will begin with the ending, which was all ends up awesome, full of humour, emotions, scorching hot, commitment and creepy edges.

This book is a masterpiece walk along the line between a contemporary motorcycle club romance and a paranormal packed with villainous deeds and the Merikan writing duo come out on top as always.

From the off this story screams quietly to itself, things are not normal in the Kings of Hell clubhouse and now it's VP Knight's turn to fall down the rabbit hole as he encounters his online nemesis The Count, obsessed with the memory of the madman and serial killer William Fane who inhabited the house some two centuries earlier.

Things get off to a bad start as Elliot, the man behind the facepaint, keeps pushing all of Knight's protective instincts while simultaneously rousing all his desires. And OMG when they finally let loose on those desires things explode.

The level of "WTF did I just read" switches between seriously creepy and disturbingly arousing at the same time and there are some scenes which I know I'll be thinking about for quite some time.

Sex is, as ever with these two writers, beyond hot and approaching the stratosphere but it also carries a hint of protection and a needy desire to belong which is unique to Knight and Elliot.

The way Elliot lives to feel wanted is delivered with delicious surrender and Knight's commanding presence overwhelms the senses. Together their dynamic leaps off the page and there are times when a cold shower becomes a real need, especially once the ghostly malevolence takes hold.

I am loving this series so much and book three shows no sign of letting up on the incredible ride. Oh and that cover from Natasha Snow = swoon!

[3.4] in the sequel to "Laurent and the Plastic," Laurent reels from the reality that is the harmful effects of non-biodegradable materials 😱!!! can their love survive in the face of such ugly truths?? tune into "My Dark Plastic" tonight at 10.....

jokes aside, i actually think i like this story a smidge more than the first because it contains more dark & gritty elements and i'm all for that. in terms of the couples themselves though, i think i prefer Beast and Laurent (probably because Laurent's grown on me so much) and their cameos added plenty to my enjoyment of this book (that final chapter!! 🥺).

i can completely understand why majority of readers wanted to toss Elliot into a fire because he's very much not right in the head. his obsessive romantic fixation on serial killers (like the thought of having his flesh eaten and then his bones taken care of as mementos turns him on, mmm nice 😌 surprise, surprise when the justification given for his behavior actually held some water in a twisted sense?), and his tendency to make self-sabotaging decisions and put himself in precarious situations that in turn pose a threat to others' safety were enough to have me questioning his sanity, if i wasn’t already.

and yet shockingly i could handle his actions pretty well! Elliot getting his comeuppance for his stupidity helped, if you manage to make it far enough in the story to reach that scene (when getting what you wish for almost kills you 😉).

Knight, swooping in to save the damsel in distress time and time again, gave me mixed signals with his phobia of relationships and monogamy, but i still liked his character. wish i could say more but i can't remember much else now that it's been several days 😅

what i do remember are the sex scenes though, and man were they priceless!! sex next to a dead body, sex in the presence of the ghost next door because said ghost flirted with Elliot, sex while possessed by a ghost, they have no qualms 🤣

The plot thickens.

New book, new couple but same craziness in the mansion.

Knight is the new VP of the Kings of hell, Beast best friends and Laurent's great-great nephew.
He is fascinated by his family history and has studied it for years.
He has an online archenemy, The Count, who believes and worships William Fane.

Elliot, the count, is a lonely man, his passion is History but specially Fane's story.
When he learns about the bodies found in the Kings of hell compound he needs to know more and he goes see for himself, that's how these characters meet.

Elliot hates the way Knight talks about William, he feels there's more to William that what people think. He can't stand Knight's beliefs but he can't help but feel attracted to him.

Knight hates what the count believes, he's a delusional man but at the same time he sees a kindred spirit in him, they share a passion for history and that's how a sort of friendship develops between them.

Elliot is such an amazing character, he is the scene stealer in this book, you know his beliefs are wrong and even get frustrated with some of his actions but it's impossible not to care for him, at thr beginning you don't even know his story yet and you know that he is just looking for something, acceptance, love, just something.
He's always been weak and alone, so he sees murder as a sign of strength. He has never been able to defend himself so he romanticizes William and his actions because he was strong and brave.
The other thing is, he's not used to kindness or help from people so when he gets those things he clings to them, in terms of good feelings he is very naive.
So yes, you understand where he is coming from when he makes mistakes.

Don't get me wrong, the other MC doesn't get lost in the story, he is definitely a dark Knight in shining armor.
He is slut and he is not ready for commitment but he is so loyal and always helping people.
You can see his good soul by the actions he has with other people.
Knight's friendship with beast, his familiar relationship with Laurent and there's even a nice chat with Jake that helps you see who this guy really is.
In the end, even with differences he just wanted the best for Elliot.

The story, fucking hell is getting good! I don't wanna say much but it gets good and it includes William Fane. The way it was created it helped us get to know and understand the MCs and at the same time see a bit of Laurent and Beast which is always awesome.

There's violence, blood and even demon pacts in this book but nothing really bothered me because it's not something that I don't expect from Kat and Agnes.
I would say it's different from the first book and I personally consider that a good thing, If there's one thing they know how to write is characters with very different personalities.

Some things happened here that are definitely going to affect the future of the series, the things are "small" details but you can tell they might be game changers, can't wait to see what Agnes and Kat have in store for us.
Time travel is not present but the paranormal aspect is still there and it's killing me to know where they are going with this.

I wanna mention Jake and Gray, I'm dying to know their stories. We are given a few hints about them in this story and it's enough to make you want to know more but not enough to spoil you.

So all in all it was a great addition to the series, it's a very strong second book and leaves you with enough info to keep you waiting for book 3. I personally already have theories.

4 stars

It was hard to rate this one, partially because I didn't enjoy the first half and I felt the need to take a long break from reading it. But when I got back to it, I was glued to the pages and loved it way more.
Not sure how I could explain it best, but at first Elliot got on my nerves real bad with his unhealthy obsession for Fane, the dead serial killer we met in the first book. Elliot was determined to LOVE Fane and the way he acted made me want to scream. And Knight, well he was an unexpected surprise. On the outside he was tough, being the VP of this motorcycle club. But he got super protective with Elliot and the way he stood between his best friend Beast and him, not letting Elliot get hurt, really won me.

So the second half of the book was great and I just couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see how Fane will get out forever from their lives. My lips were itching with "Now you see Elliot what an idiot you've been?!?" But it was too late anyway.

Even if I think this book was too long, well I got invested into the story. I suffered so much for Elliot when he got hurt. Fane was so cruel!!

What I did like here would be Knight and Elliot's attraction to each other, how they completed each other and how in the end Knight had to admit he wanted only Elliot. It was a long and hard road, full of denial, but the end gave me everything I wanted, a strong couple and a great bond.

Overall I loved this book way more than the first one in the series. The sex scenes were extremely hot and these two fitted perfectly. Loved revisiting Beast and Laurent and the engagement scene melted me!

It seems my resolve to read the 'Kings of hell MC series in order is not going to happen. And, this is a sure case of "it's not me it's you".🤧🤧🤧 I mean what am I supposed to do if you give me an MC like Elliot. I am certainly not exaggerating when I say he was the most awful, dumbest and jerkiest MC I have seen and nobody and I mean nobody is going to like him.👿 👿 👿

I know I sound mean but after reading the first book, I was invested in the paranormal activities of this motorcycle club and that's the only reason I stuck around. Because I hated Elliot from the very start. So, let me explain, he is like the first guy who gets killed in a horror movie. But the worst thing, we could not get rid of him for more than 450 pages, because he is the MC and love interest and don't we all want happily ever after in our romance books.😬😬😬

Okay, so let's start from the start-

•Elliot is a social influencer/fanatic( the kind who gets 3k likes🥱🥱) and makes videos about a creepy serial killer who died 200 years ago. And, I mean a real serial killer like Ted Bundy but his targets were young males in 1805.

• Elliot not only makes videos about him but he is obsessed/in love with him. He has a chest tattoo to prove it. And, he wants to see this creepy guy turned creepy ghost's (William Fan)old mansion and if it's not enough he even daydreams about cannibalism with this creepy ghost. 😤😤😤

• I don't hate him for all this but he acts like a psychotic gf, anytime he does not get enough attention or things go sideways, he acts impulsively. Firstly, he invites his middle-aged ex who has just returned from jail, which ended up in him being almost killed. Secondly, he gets angry with 'Knight'(the second MC and calls his ex again, ending up killing him. Thirdly, he is again angry and calls the ghost and ends up being possessed and so on. There is no end to his stupidities.😖😖😖Then on top of being possessive, impulsive, he is also selfish and petty and a liar. He doesn't care if any guy has killed many innocent men if they only care for him. In fact, he likes brutality and wants to gain a superpower to kill any random people who stare at him(yeah!! I know it's disgusting ). He didn't care even when the ghost confessed everything, he was just angry because the ghost did not want him but Lorent.😡😡😡

•His affection keeps shifting with the situation. One second he is dying for Knight, sorry!!! for his pretty cock next, he misses his ex then he kills him and then he wants to be special to the creepy ghost. Ohh!! Give me a break. 🙉🙉🙉

Now comes our second MC, Knight, who is kind of Man-slut and completely against monogamy. This is fine but if you are in the habit of choosing possessive, impulsive partners and expect them to respect the fine lines of an open relationship, then no one is a bigger fool than you. I can't understand why he was with Elliot other than the fact that he likes messed up people for example his ex-gf, Jordan.

I liked the plot but Elliot took so much space that it was difficult to keep liking the plot and paranormal stuff. Plus, there was nill relationship or character development. I know the author feeds something about Elliot's shitty parents, shitty childhood and shitty life...blah..blah but I just don't care.  I think it also reflects zero effort from the author to redeem Elliot. I mean yeah, the sex was hot but if I am going to read more than 450 pages, then should I not expect more.🤔
There was no character arc, we ended up with the same MCs we get in the starting.

And, if you are wondering why the hell I gave it 2 stars, that's because I liked the MCs of the previous book, Laurent and the beast who were secondary characters here. I loved the bonus chapter about them too.
Will I continue reading the series??? I don't know, maybe sometime in future or maybe never. Because I don't like feeling miserable while reading books, especially if I am not going to achieve anything in the end.
Finally-
Plot-3 💥
Character development-½ 💥
Relationship development -½  💥
Steam-4 💥
Paranormal content-3 💥

Recommended to no one🙈🙈🙈 I mean you can read it but please don't expect anything more than some hot steamy scenes and an appalling MC and yeah a creepy ghost in 450 pages.

This was a difficult one to rate.

I loved many aspects of it: the tone, the gripping story, the unfolding of the plot (with a couple of quite unexpected twists, if I may say!). The authors know exactly what they are doing here.

And of course, Laurent and Beast are back, making headway in their relationship! And so is the demon who is still ruling his roost with ever increasing power (very worrying for the next book!)

So - no doubt, I was captivated and engaged! But unlike in the first book, I had some issues with the MCs.

Knight is so generous and so kind, it was almost unreal at times. Particularly when Elliot keeps throwing his kindness back in his face, again and again. Let’s put it like this – Knight's patience with Elliot is endless, kind of ‘forever and ever endless’.

Mine left me relatively soon, I admit, because let’s face it: Elliot is one hell of a naïve, confused, misguided and bat-shit crazy guy. For most of the book at least. There is this, of course:

“He was now twenty-five, and since the day he was born he’d never managed to attract another person’s love.”

I understand that Elliot is desperate for attention, affection and love. REALLY desperate. He wants to give “everything” to the One (and he means that, too).

Hence his love for serial killers. Yes, he is funny that way. The thing is that no proof and common sense can dissuade him from his believe that William Fane (the mass murderer who was killed by Laurent in book 1) is just misunderstood. Until it almost costs Elliot everything.

The sigh of relief I let out when he finally sees the light (at around 64%) was huge. Then my feelings towards him changed totally when things happened to him that shouldn’t have. And still, his insecurities keep nagging at him (and me).
Admittedly, I forgave him at that point, but he still isn't my favourite person in this series.

As for Knight – he is a good and wonderful guy, but completely oblivious when it comes to feelings (and relationships aren’t not his MO anyway!)
He doesn’t realize that all the things he does for Elliot are so obviously out of love. This puts a heavy strain on them being together (because, unsurprisingly, Elliot doesn’t get it) and causes a lot of havoc. In a way Knight is responsible for all the bad things happening, too.

Thankfully, the guys do figure it out eventually and Elliot finally gets his HEA or something pretty close:

“For years, his heart had been a black hole, and now it was a supernova, stuck forever in that moment of brightness before death.” *g*

So – the emotional up and down was intense and immense, which I enjoyed, but I admit that Elliot frustrated me to no ends.

However, and this is one reason why I can hand out 4 stars quite happily, the last chapter was just bliss! And it brought a HUGE smile to my face.

Really worried about the demon and what he is planning. Will book 3 give us all the answers? Looking forward to it.

4 hearts

We had what I'm starting to call our 'Merikan group review' crew, over on the blog. Click the link at the bottom to see Fantasy's and Lori's reviews!

Another great installment to this series! And this book in particular brings out what I love about KA Merikan, some seriously fucked up characters!! I think Elliott is the most mentally vulnerable person I've ever read about.

He will surely grate on your nerves (that is the niiicest possible way of saying that), he does a lot of stupid things and doesn't do much to redeem himself. Then Knight comes along being all heroic.

He's always standing up for Elliott and a lot of the time we can't help but think he should just run away! But then (there's always a ’but then’ with the Merikans) you start to really understand that they are kind of perfect for each other. They're both obsessive to the point of crazy and you just want them to point that obsession towards each other.

The paranormal side to this story is just as creepy as the first, if not more so!

This story was fun, edge of your seat tense and sexy as fuck, but I did not like their relationship drama. I didn't understand Knight's motivations or hesitations and it felt too contrived to really believe it. Also I felt this book did not need to be this long. It lagged in certain places that I felt could have been slightly shaved back.

If you enjoy paranormal stories with morally ambiguous characters and obsessive men, then this story will be perfect for you!

A Fantastic tale that is deliciously dark yet sweetly romantic.

My Dark Knight  from K.A. Merikan is book two in the Kings of Hell MC Series and a fantastic story! I was entertained from the start of the book all the way through to the end, just under 500 pages later. To accomplish holding my attention, that long -- well you know this story is pretty damn good! The characters in this series are so unique and some other worldly that you can't help but become addicted to their lives as you read their story.

In this book, we get to see two characters who we "met" if very briefly in book one and now we get in their heads. Knight is VP to the Kings of Hell and he just wants to live his life, party it up, and indulge in all the carnal and forbidden pleasures he can. Commitment? Monogamy? NO.  He has been there, done that, and burned the t-shirt. One thing he does love and is very passionate about is family. Both his chosen family, The Kings of Hell, and his blood family, the Mercier's. So, anyone who messes with either better watch out!

Elliot, poor misunderstood, obsessed, just-wants-love, Elliot. Better known to his "Faneatics" as "The Count" he is a little obsessed with William Fane, Brecon's own notorious serial killer which we met in book one. You see, Elliot is convinced that Fane was just misunderstood and has been stereotyped and categorized with other serial killers. Fane, according to The Count, really had to love someone to take their life, take a piece of them and keep them with him forever.

"What William Fane had always wanted was a man of his own, and what Elliot craved was to become the apple of someone’s eye, no matter the cost. To for once belong to someone who truly wanted him".

Twisted? Yes. Slightly romantic way of thinking? Yes. Wrong?

“Inside and out. Body and soul. I want it all. If a man can give me that, I don’t care how many innocent boys he’s murdered.”

Well, that's to be found out! One thing is for sure though, Elliot loathes Laurent Mercier, the man who killed his idol! He loves nothing more than to smear his name on his YouTube channel -- which really pissed off Knight!

When one night at a party at the MC clubhouse, Knight is alerted to an intruder. The last person he expects to encounter is, The Count. Knight also doesn't expect to have sparks fly between himself and the man under The Count's persona...no, he never expected that!

"Knight wasn’t just a force of nature. He was a rock, an island of sanity in the wild waters Elliot was forced to navigate."

From the moment these two meet, they are drawn to each other. As situations unfold during the story, Knight finds himself taking on the roll of a saviour to Elliot. He finds himself enjoying spending time with Elliot. It blows his mind and goes against everything he wants.

"The Count was an untouchable prick with his head up high. Elliot on the other hand was so human, and so deliciously eager to please, Knight loved knowing that in a way he was in fact fucking them both".

Elliot on the other hand couldn't be happier than when he is in Knights big, strong arms or his bed. In-fact if he had his way, he would never leave!

"There was something he loved so much about being the vehicle of another man’s pleasure . He got his own arousal from it in turn, but knowing that at the same time his body provided a big, masculine man with something he craved was such a large part of it. He loved the way he could feel the other guy’s dick twitch, throb, or stiffen. For a few short minutes, he was the center of a man’s universe".

But, do people every get their way when the Kings of Hell are involved? Well, not without a lot of twists and turns, a few demonic forces, a ghost who really needs to be sent to the other side...and some other goodies, making this a story you won't forget!!

Did I mention the chemistry between these two is hot as F**k?? Well, it is! These authors know how to write deliciously deviant sex that will make your toes curl!

“I don’t want to be eaten. I want to be devoured. Do you see the difference?”

“You’re growing on me like ivy.” Elliot sighed and kissed Knight once more. “I would rather cover you like moss.”

If you can't already tell, I recommend this book...this series...5 stars!  I can't wait for the next book in this series!!

Audiobook 6/15/19: Joel Leslie rocked this narration! I still love Knight and I hated Elliot more than I did the first time around (if that’s even possible)! Still 4 stars, but with a 5 Star narration!! Such a TWISTED story!! 😈😈

Original review: August 2017

Wow!

Talk about hating and loving an MC! I wanted to strangle Elliot for a large part of this book, but just when I was about to give up on him, the authors yanked me back in and I wanted to hug him instead.

Knight, was likewise a character I wanted to shake around, and pound some sense into him. Of course I also wanted to tumble around with him, but, alas he's obsessed with saving Elliot from the sadistic, evil ghost of Fane. Yes, the serial killer Laurent killed in the first book in the series.

The two work together and have such an incredible push and pull relationship, that you never know what either is going to do, or if they're going to screw each other over. Great tension between the two both in and out of bed.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because I wanted to slap the MCs much of the time--which in all reality is a good thing since it meant I was invested in the story these two authors created for us.

I can't wait for the next steamy, sexy, paranormal read from these women!

Loved this a lot.

RTC...

~*~

I absolutely loved this one, even more than the first in this series. I loved Knight and Elliot together.

Elliot was a messed up guy for a good potion of this book. But the more you read about him, the more you come to understand him. Like how on earth could he romanticize a fucking serial killer and come to "love" him and be so obsessed with him? (how do people do this in real life?) But for Elliot, when truly becomes confronted with Fane and all he did and what he is like (and that he is not a poor misunderstood soul who had to kill young men because they didn't love him him or some shit), Elliot's blinders come off pretty quicly.

For me, Elliot was an understandable character who just had horrible shit happen to him and so desperately wanted to be loved after his whole life of never being loved, by anyone, and had a misguided sense of what love actually means. Which is understandable when Elliot has never been shown any love in his whole 25 years. That affects people.

Not that they will always come to romanticize serial killers....but you can see how one might, or in Elliot's case, how he did with his thought process.

But really, at the end of the day Elliot was kind man who wanted to be loved wholly. He just has a fucked up sense of what that looked like.

When Elliot makes his way to the King's of Hell's club to film around where the bodies were found, dressed as "The Count" his alter ego on youtube, he encounters Knight, his "nemesis" and they get into it. A month later, he comes back to the club to try to get into William Fane's room and gets caught, and Knight is there again.

When Elliot's scumbag ex (who murdered his abusive father...yeah, real winner, these men) comes back and tries to hurt and kill Elliot, Elliot texts Knight to save him, and he does, fairly easily, and Elliot is, shall we say, a little smitten (so smitten he blows Knight right then and there after it's over...hOT)

Knight, being the protective man that he is, tells Elliot more than offers him a place to stay at their clubhouse, with him, and Elliot goes.

Only problem while they're there...William Fane's ghost is a thing and it is in the cellar.

Knight rolls his eyes and rightly scoffs at Elliot's attitude toward's Fane, but when Fane isn't being talked about or brought up, Elliot is surprisingly sweet and intelligent and he actually cares about what Knight cares about and Knight finds himself starting to care for Elliot.

Only, when it's suggested that he and Knight are a couple...Knight gets scared and makes things clear with Elliot...who does not take it well, and then shit just hits the fan from there. (Although it's funny that Knight maintained that he couldn't be in a monogamous relationship when the whole time Elliot and Knight were fucking, he never fucked anyone else. He made out with a woman once and probably would have then, but when Elliot came along he completely forgot about her. Knight even had countless opportunities to sleep with others throughout and never did.)

I loved this, I loved Knight and Elliot together, and I loved where they ended up in this story, I couldn't get enough of these two.

The love they share is immense, and they go through a lot in this, but seeing them get to their HEA by the end was so worth it, and wonderful.

Can't wait to read the next in this series. Two thumbs up from me!

Another amazing release by KA Merikan and I can't even decide whether I like Laurent and the Beast more or My Dark Knight. Both are equally awesome in their own way despite having very different characters. While Laurent and Beast have more of a straight forward Beauty & the Beast theme romance with some time travel and paranormal thrown in to spice things up, My Dark Knight is basically a love triangle that involved a certain villainous ghost.

Love triangle, you say? I hate that. I usually do. But since William Fane is actually a ghost, I don't really see him as a competition. How can he compare to Knight, the chivalrous and badass biker who loves history.

Elliot aka The Count is a seriously flawed character, he is so fucked up that he actually thinks he is in love with the infamous serial killer 200 years ago and he did everything in his power to come in contact with him no matter the cost. However, despite all his shortcoming and messed up thinking, I can't help but fell deeply for his vulnerability and his craving to be wanted and love.

In order to understand the background history of the paranormal element within the clubhouse, including the history of William Fane, reader must have read Book 1. We also get to meet Beast and Laurent again here, although Laurent seems really prickly and irritated by Elliot, which is totally understandable. But I really miss the endearing Laurent with all his softness and innocence.

Knight and Elliot started off as a nemesis due to their disagreement about the Fane-Mercier non-relationship, but Knight seems like a nice guy right from the start. Them being on the wrong foot didn't prolong and in a short time they are already a pair history-digging-buddies and Knight repeatedly tried to save Elliot's life. Knight being a disreputable manwhore does worry me a little, but it seems like his character development was handled quite well. I'm pleased. Elliot is totally needy and clingy though he tried to control himself, while Knight doesn't do commitment. Knight doesn't even see himself with a man romantically, although he can totally fuck one. Man, does he really needs some time time to figure out all the conflicting feelings he had for Elliot. There are a lot more drama that happened between Knight and Elliot and also the ghost of William Fane, but I shall just leave you to discover it for yourself.

Despite the long page count with a staggering 466 pages, it honestly doesn't feel that long due to the fast moving plot. Every chapter there are something happening that keep me engrossed and a lot of WTF moment that left my eye bulging out. When my kindle is creeping towards the end line, I seriously didn't want this to end. I wanted months for this and I wish I can savor this for a few more days.

2.5 stars on this reread. Last time I gave it 4 stars and loved it but this dmtime I dnfed it around 50%. I just could not stand Elliots obsession towards William. I loved the characters and really enjoyed reading about Knoght, Elliot and the rest of them but I got so frustrated with Elliot with the "all obsession no logic" vibe. But do want to continue with the series as I love a lot about it.

------

Parts two of Kings of hell MC series. This was crazy, insane, very steamy and I loved everything about it. Definitely an addicting read. One of the longer audiobooks for a romance but it was all worth it. Bit excited to continue on with the series and hope it's at least as good.

Enemies-to-lovers.

I repeat, enemies-to-lovers.

I know, right! KA Merikan and enemies-to-lovers. ****GRINS WICKEDLY****

KA Merikan is one of my favourite writing duos. I mean I love them because you never quite know what you're going to read... only that boring is NOT going to be a word used to describe any part of it.

When I knew I was reviewing this book, I got the first in the series and sat down and devoured both. I couldn't read fast enough. Laurent and Beast (the MC's in book one) won my heart but fuck did I love Knight and Elliot just as much when I got to book two.

Elliot. This boy was wrapped in so much hurt and it done-did make him stooopid at some points. Sometimes I wanted to slap the sense right back into him... but I also wanted to hug him and not let go He needed a hug IMO. Actually, he needed a hug from Knight, but frankly Knight was far more able to show his affections by ploughing Elliot's arse than hugging him - and really, therein lay the problem. Because they both needed a hug. Honestly they did.

Of course if it was that simple the book would have been ridiculously short and the hot, kink would not have been there.... and frankly that would have been a shame. More than a shame. A travesty because Merikan kink is hawt.

Knight is now one of my favourite Merikan characters. I mean who doesn't love a knight coming to the rescue, even if it is in his own bad-boy way? White knights are so last century, bad boy knights are the way forward. A bad boy knight whose heart isn't as dark as it seems.

With twist and turns, a heat factor to melt the sturdiest of knickers and a paranormal flavour this book is an absolute winner.Written with a uniqueness that is pure Merikan, this is one of my favourite 2017 reads and I CANNOT wait for the next in the series.

It was crazy and I loved everything about it!
When starting book two of the series I was convinced Laurent and the Beast is a tough act to follow. I was wrong. I liked book two even more. I had no idea an MC that is obsessed with a historical serial killer is something I was searching for.

Might Elliot be considered unlikable? Might his sanity be questionable? Are the two MCs ridiculous, and want polar opposite things in a relationship? Does the book have the best fleshed out villain ever? So much yes. And the book takes you on journey, manages to surprise and question morale.

The audiobook narration is exceptional and each character shines and comes alive. My favourite types of books are those that produce vivid imagery. It felt like watching a movie in the best possible of ways.

What more did I love? Side characters. Romance to plot ratio. Character growth. The originality (aka The Crazy).

What I didn’t love? Tbh I’ve been thinking about this book for a month now and not one single bad thing comes in mind.

This certainly isn’t your typical biker story.

description

My Dark Knight starts around 3 month later were Laurent and The Beast left. I guess it can be as standalone but I strongly suggest you not to do it because there are important details in the previous book you need to know.

Leaving that out of the way, I’ll start with my ramblings.

I met Knight in the first book, as a side character he stole my heart because he’s not only extremely good-looking but he also is super smart and he’s fascinated with history. He’s Beast best friend and a very attentive person. He owns his nickname for a reason because he’s always helping those in need.

description

Elliot aka The Count. We never saw him in the previous book but Knight mentions him because he has a Youtube Channel where he claims his love for William Fane, the serial killer who tried to kill our precious Laurent in 1800.

Obviously, Knight considers Elliot as his nemesis because he has an unhealthy obsession with the person who tried to kill his ancestor. Let me get this clear, Elliot considers that William didn’t do anything wrong. All those dead? He thinks they were amazing and that Williams did what he had to do to defend himself from those boys he killed and Elliot just want to be consumed by him. Uhmm, yeah…

At the beginning is hard to see past Elliot’s obsession because it’s kind of unnerving (and funny) but I got to know him better… Yeah, he has a nasty taste in men but who hasn’t? At some point in our lives, we wanted a bad boy, though Elliot’s tastes almost cost him his life and let’s just be grateful that Knight likes to save people.

I liked him very much because he was smart, innocent and gorgeous. He and Knight challenged each other and connected so quickly that it was obvious they were meant to be together even if Knight didn’t want to accept it. They couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, this book has more steam than the previous which was pretty nice but it was something I didn’t really enjoy and I tell you about this later.

I like what K.A. Merikan did with this story. The darkness continues, the devil still lives in the walls (or mirrors) of King of Hell’s club. This story took a twist I didn’t see coming! I’m a fan of the paranormal and ghosts and what K.A. Merikan give us is great.

They deliver a different form of a ghost story because the possession doesn’t happen in the way I’m used to watching on TV. I like they don’t sugar coat what happens here and they don’t shy away of hurting their MC if it’s necessary. As hard as it was to read it, the things that happened to Elliot were necessary to make this story even creepier and scarier.

Why did I say that I didn’t enjoy the sex scenes? It just made me cringe and made me so uncomfortable. I like creepy and pervy things but I guess I have my limits.

Overall, I recommend this story. It’s totally worth it. It is sweet and angsty, it gives you goose bumps and it makes you laugh. I don’t know how all that works so well together but it does.

I hope this darkness and paranormal things continue in the next book because I just realized that’s what makes this story so appealing to me.

Another winner for me!!!!!! Elliot drove me crazy for awhile with his dedication to William Fane but he eventually showed his true colors to Elliot. It took Knight throughout the book to finally realize just how much Elliot meant to him but that didn't stop his from coming to Elliot's rescue time and time again.

I listened to this on audio and Joel Leslie was the narrator 👍 he adds to this AMAZING series!!!! Can't wait to download the next one and read/listen to Jakes story!

WHAT MIND FUCKERY IS THIS?

Get ready to have your head seriously screwed with . Elliot and Knight aren’t mucking about here, they’re into weird shit…And you’ll be into it too.

From
"Thinking of the handsome, charming William desiring another man so much he not only wanted to sleep with him but also to physically devour him had Elliot’s stomach in knots, both out of fear and arousal."
to
"All of a sudden, he imagined being buried where Fane’s victims had been, only with no one to lovingly chew on his flesh and hug his bones to sleep."
to
“If it was up to me, I’d okay you getting all of Fane’s bones to molest. I wouldn’t even care if you fucked yourself with his femur!”
And that’s just within the first few pages. Just leave your morals at the front door. You won’t need them.

We met Knight, best friend of Beast and descendant of Laurent (kind of), in the first Kings of Hell book Laurent and the Beast. Beast and Laurent make their appearances throughout book 2 and they’re still stupidly sweet together. I adore Laurent. Him and his plastic obsession! Ugh!

But back to Knight, no sugar coating it, he’s a slut. He’s into boys, he’s into girls, as long as you’ve got a hole to occupy he’s there. K.A. Merikan did not hold back any of the dirty, disgusting, descriptive details.

As well as a slut, he’s an electrician, a precious stone smuggler and a history buff. The latter being his downfall. Seriously, bringing up dead ancestors is Knight’s version of bedroom talk. It doesn’t work for most, but he meets his match (historically speaking) when Elliot ‘The Count’ starts lurking around the Kings of Hell Clubhouse.

Elliot…I don’t even have words.

*Actual footage of me when Elliot starts talking/thinking about Fane*

Elliot is damaged. His Father was an asshole and he’s raised without the love or physical necessities a growing boy requires. The necessities part is important, he values things. Having fancy stuff means you’ve made it. Taking what you want with no care of the consequences doesn’t make you a crappy person in Elliot’s eyes, no, he’ll think you’ve got you’re shit together.

“I admire that William took matters into his own hands. He just went for it, you know? He didn’t sit around like some wimp. He gave as good as he got.” -Elliot, 2017, talking about a serial killer. Yup.

He idolises William Fane (sexual predator from Book 1 who tried it on with Laurent and was murdered as a result). No, he worships him. It’s creepy. Like I said, leave your morals at the door.

There’s this constant back and forth between Elliot and Knight, they don’t work, they’re like fire and ice. Knight is of course Team Mercier whereas Elliot is deadset on believing Laurent (Mercier) murdered his sweet William Fane.

However, neither can deny their sizzling chemistry. Knight has the kind of physical power and presence Elliot lusts after. He wants nothing more than to just satisfy his ‘saviour’. He likes being used. No, that’s not quite right. He likes being the one to provide pleasure - being the centre of a man’s world, if only for the duration of busting a nut. And Knight, well, he’s enjoying the novelty of screwing the Count.

This is how I pictured Elliot and Knight…

Poor Elliot just wants a man to spoil. But his taste in guys is, well…shit.

And then between all that there’s the whole supernatural element. The devil himself appeared in Book 1 so obvs this wasn’t going to be some fluffy romance walk in the park. Ghosts, ghouls and goblins (not really but I liked the 3 Gs) are no stranger to the Kings of Hell Clubhouse, they’re prevalent to the series, always ready to fuck up a perfectly good relationship. Yay :(

Basically, expect the unexpected. I found myself asking 'Did that actually just happen ?' at least once a chapter.

I don’t think I liked this one as much as Laurent And The Beast but that’s probably cause Laurent was a sweetheart whereas Elliot is a nutcase (a loveable nutcase, but seriously disturbed). It was still a brilliant instalment though, and I’m hella excited for Jake’s story. Jake - Prospect - was featured throughout the book and we got to see that the Kings of Hell don’t really take him seriously. Probably cause he’s practically frothing at the mouth at the mention of dick. How’s he going to handle being a patched member when he thinks more with the head down there than he does with the one up top? We’re briefly introduced to his potential loverboy (loverman?) at the end of book 2. We know he’s big, drives a Harley and is an accountant - but that’s about it. Again, I’m hella excited. Bring on On Your Knees, Prospect!!

And Gray! Book 4!!! I don’t really remember much of him from book 1 but he’s very much present in book 2. He’s intriguing, that one. This whole series is going to be bomb dot com.
