I love Taste of Home. I love the way they give you the nutritional facts at the end of the recipes and I love that the recipes are submitted by people all over the country. There seemed to be a lot more recipes including white sugar, brown sugar, white rice, and all purpose flour than I would have liked to see in a diabetes book. For that reason I won't be purchasing this book for my cookbook shelf. It was nice to look at though. I would love to see a future edition where health roadblocks are replaced with better diabetes-friendly ingredients.

Learning to live with my partner’s Diabetes has been tough but I just know this book (which I received as a gift) is going to make things easier! The layout is super user-friendly with icons to let you know which recipes are fastest and which require fewest ingredients, while the substitutes options will help tackle the hubby’s grumpiness over losing his favourite foods. The pictures are appetising and the recipes look easy to follow. Can’t wait to pick the first one to try!

More oil, sugar, dairy, and meat than I would think is good for a diabetic or my taste. Only saw 2 out of 379 recipes that I would try and even those I would modify while preparing. To say I was disappointed, would be an understatement.
