Loyal and trustworthy, Sal Bellini, cousin to Sebastian and Enrico Bellini, has always been the heart of the family. Although, he grew up in their shadows, Sal is the voice of reason to both brothers. The quiet, reserved man is the one that Sebastian leans on; while Ricci considers his closest friend and brother.
When he and Ricci fall for the same girl in their Ninth Avenue neighborhood, Sal is brokenhearted to discover that Lizzie has been won by the charismatic Ricci. Hiding his pain, Sal relinquishes her but continues to secretly worship Lizzie from afar. Unbeknownst to him, Ricci has accidently uncovered Sal’s secret and when it is brought out into the light after many years, it pushes their friendship close to a breaking point.
Self-exiled in peaceful solitude, Sal is unprepared when Greer Nolan walks into his life and gently pulls his attention to her. Once he surrenders to Greer’s charms and falls in love with her, Sal realizes that by loving her, he may be forced to pay a high price that could well cost him his life.

This is a romance with a touch of suspense. The fourth book in The Bellini Series, this is supposed to be the final book, but I am hoping that Mrs. Smith will have mercy on me and keep this series going. I am in love with all the characters and I want to know what happens in the future for Sal now that he has found his future. I love how Sal always looked out for his cousins, when they were settled and taken care of, he then relaxed and then only then thought of himself. Greer thought she knew love, until she met a man who truly loved her.

Sal Bellini has always taken care of everyone, he never questioned his family role. He gladly accepted, in fact he loved taking care of his family. But things have changed, well since he has met Greer. He is wanting to have time for her, maybe time for them. But he has reservations about letting anyone know his true feelings, it may cause hard feelings. Greer may have some trouble on her own, her past is catching up with her. Will it catch up with them both?

favorite passages:
"But it was his dazzling smile that thrilled her the most, especially when he graced her with one."
"Like music, the soothing sounds of the waves lapping against the shoreline, floats on the air as if to herald the day's end."
"When you spend more time with my family, you'll discover that loyalty is like a steel cable that binds each of us to the other. To the Bellinis, it's s necessary as breathing."
"I'm navigating without a compass." <3
