Highly informative, including the origins of the flowers, how they spread throughout the world, and how they were used in the past as well as how we use them today.

Provides lots of names regarding the botanists, herbalists, and doctors of the time who kept journals and notes about which flowers were used for which ailments, which gives me several jumping off points for more research.

The illustrations are beautiful and very detailed. While this book doesn't list a lot of flowers, only ten and their variations, it does dive deep into the history of those flowers.

Plants include: Tulips, Narcissi, Crocuses, Irises, Carnations, Roses, Nasturtiums, Dandelions, Marigolds, and Dahlias
