An extremely brief introduction to the country, this type of picture book often provides more information via words than pictures, except when talking about the countries surrounding Kenya. Also, the reader has to wait until page 11 before we see a map. At the very start, the first sentence reads, "Kenya is in East Africa." Instead of seeing a map, readers are shown a photo of a man who I assume is part of the Maasai, because of the "red tribal" clothing that he is wearing. It's a bit confusing, because the previous sentence talks about the Kikuyu tribe and then the next sentence talks about the Maasai.

I do not recommend.

Well-written, but very short. An interesting introduction to learning about Kenya. Good starting point for young readers.
