I'm kind of glad this series has ended. At the start it was really good and different.
I loved Sid and Smoke and loved the idea of them fighting against the bad guys. The sexual tension between Sid and Smoke was great to read and was great when they finally got together.
However the last few books I feel were very pointless and the series just dragged on for the sake of getting 10 books.
Some parts that you really wanted to read more of were just glazed over (Sid having a baby) and when things were starting to get explained it was rushed and too much information at once.
The plot also started becoming way too far fetched. There's only so many full on beatings someone can take before being seriously injured and there's only so many times they can be unkillable even if they are shifters.
Overall it was a good series and I may read some of his other books

This is it! The conclusion to the series! And it’s one long battle from start to finish as Smoke, Sydney and their friends struggle to take down Kane and the Drake. Just about every bad guy who ever appeared in the series shows up again here as our heroes attempt to end the threat of the Drake for good.

And yet, as a factor of pure strength, that seems to be impossible. And as they finally find out that an Egyptian moon god is behind the Drake’s rise to power, things begin to look even worse for them. There are two big battles that have been building here for a long time—Smoke versus Kane and Sydney versus her sister, Alison. But the biggest battle has always been whether or not Smoke and Sydney could continue to resist the allure of becoming a shifter. Unsurprisingly, Kane cheats to stack the deck against them, but Halloran has been building toward this climax from page one of the series and I found the conclusion to this struggle both expected and well written. The final battle with Kane wasn’t as good as the one with Reginald, but it was very Smoke so I don’t think I’m going to complain about it.

This is a great conclusion to a very enjoyable series.

Love, evil, monsters, just wow!

This was an exceptional series. It had everything from good, bad, love and hate. You couldn't help but want to be in the driver seat of this storyline..you wanted good things for John and Sid. There's a rollercoaster of emotions. The story keeps you wondering right till the end. I did not see the ending coming i thou ft for sure John was a goner. That Sid was going to die. But no, johns love for Sidney over powered the evil Kane thought waa in John. And what she finally gets to do to Kane the wait worth while..i won't give away any secrets..just grab a pillow, a nice warm blanket, a nice hot cup of Joe and settle in for the ride of your life..

The bombastic ending to this series does not disappoint. Where the previous book was a whole lot of set up; this book is just go go go from the start.

Relationships are tested, mysteries are solved, and a whole lot of violence.

This series was super fun. I started reading the tie in series "The Henchman Chronicles" earlier this year. Loved it, and was surprised to find out Smoke & Sidney are tied to that series as well! Admittedly that meant that I knew they would come out ok by series end, but this was still thrilling.

Is this series a literary masterpiece? No, and you shouldn't approach it that way. It's a fun set of events that feel like junk food. Satisfying as all heck.

Great finish to the series! Smoke and Sydney (and all the gang) go after Kane and the Drake to finish off the evil organization. The novel was a great finish to the ten-book series wrapping up most of the loose ends (but leaving just enough if the author so inclines). The explanation about Kane and his power was quite interesting, again leaving an out for the author for more. I enjoyed the series, very pulp-like but entertaining and fun. Excellent narration by Holly Adams for the audible version.

I enjoyed this series.while the end is an end and answers all your questions it left room for more. Allowing your mind to wonder. The adventure of Sid and Smoke came to a final end and I am sad that it’s over. This series though ten books felt like a quick read and I look forward to exploring more by this author

Smoke and Sid out

Wow! I will so miss reading about smoke and Sid. I absolutely loved this dynamic duo and their band of friends. It's left open, that after some down time, the story of these love birds comes back around. One could only hope.. well done...well done.

Sid and Smoke series finale?

I dislike zombies a lot and there are lots of them here, but the characters are just so fun I got over it! This group of friends battling bad guys are worth the read.

It was a fun series!!

I read all ten books and never got bored!!! Lots of banter made the characters likable!! Tons of action too! Only complaint: I didn’t like that the bad guys came back to life multiple times.

Hmmm

Good ending to a fun adventure! A little disappointed, it felt kind of rushed, or maybe I was looking for a different ending. Still a good read though!
