Dark Reckoning

Rate this book
Be prepared for twice the passion, betrayal and a final reckoning that will leave you stunned and breathless.

Empress Vaush must walk a very thin line as she balances her undying love for Comron with her duty to protect the Empire from his terrifying ambitions. Meanwhile, Comron learns that the Kurukaii are so unnerved by his new and frightening abilities that they’ve dispatched a small army of assassins to neutralize him as a threat.

With civil war threatening from within and an even more devastating war looming on the horizon, the couple has little room to maneuver…and even more pressure to produce the coveted heir to the imperial throne.

Never were these words put more to the test - Together in life, together in death…

I don’t know how Tyler Chase does it, but the 3rd addition to the Van Laven Chronicles is the best yet. Empress Vaush comes into her own as she begins cleverly maneuvering behind the scenes to counter Comron’s moves while maintaining her steadfast love for him. Comron is every bit the alpha male curtailed only by his love for Vaush. Erik is the ever-present danger though in sheep’s clothing.
The Hegemony is constantly working to break the power couple apart and bring House Van Laven to its knees, even as Comron and Vaush gather a trusted circle of friends around them. The Kurukaii aren’t at all happy with Comron’s rapidly developing skills and are hell bent on capturing him for themselves.
Several new characters are introduced adding a deeper nuance to the story, among which is Stieg Van Laven, sure to become a favorite in the Van Laven pantheon.
The political intrigue is even deadlier and the love scenes between Comron and Vaush sizzle off the page.
The ending stunned me while leaving me eager for the fourth novel in the series.

Drop Everything & Read This-
This story remains deliciously good. Both the hero and the heroine are continuing to develop and grow and yet their chemistry remains off the charts. I can't wait for the fourth book!

I loved everything about this couple and the outstanding love they have for each other regardless of their families hate for one another . There is action, love, mystery, romance, suspense and so much more in this entire series but Book 3 the nail and I think book 4 will be the hammer. Vaush and Comron, The Renegades , all bring it to an all out battle for survival. This ending for book 3 will let you know hells gate is about to open up for book 4 an there will be WAR with allot of blood spilled and life's lost.

Good book, plenty of excitement and romance, but as with all serials, the novel ended on a cliffhanger. The author’s book site has been taken down, and I can’t find anything to show whether she plans any more books in the series. If the author does publish other books in the series, I certainly will read them.
