33 books317 followersMax grew up just outside of New York City, spending most of her formative years outdoors creating wild ghost hunts with neighborhood kids, setting booby-traps to capture unwitting family members, and building clubhouses on top of ten-foot walls. Max wrote her first story at the age of twelve and titled it Circles of Friendship. Through the years, Max has written several short-stories and poems, all of which met the wrath of the “Not Good Enough” monster and ended in fiery demise.
Max regained her confidence when she began writing scholarly articles and research theses on her first trip through graduate school. It took several years for her to break the habit of the formal writing that marred her creativity. An additional Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing was Max’s biggest support in this. Max writes primarily sci-fi/fantasy, paranormal romance, and Young Adult stories.

Enthralling second series! Engaging,suspenseful,intriguing,intense,deeply moving storyline with a few heartwarming scenes here & there between both the leads & even the secondary characters -- a very romantic love story with all their unhinged sexual passion and chemistry plus the classic raw mature dialogue along with some very good narratives that will keep readers glued to these pages. All of Sali's motivations in this series might not always be rational,but given everything that she had to deal with(and still is) that obsession and compulsive drive of hers is one of Ms.Ellendale's theme here,that irrationality eventually begins to make a lot more sense,as readers notice the lengths to which she will go to get the results she needs and her final justice. Recommended series!

Right. So this one is in my opinion even better than book 1. (And I raved about book 1 mind you) In no way would I ever suggest reading this as a stand alone, heck half of anything said here is a spoiler for book 1 so I'll try and watch it.
While I empathized fiercely with Sali in book 1 and her trials, here we've got her and Maggie getting through it pretty much together, which I really appreciate. Sal is a lot less manic than before. She has to go off on her own here and there but Mags is there to keep her grounded. That was brilliantly done mind you. Their rom arc progressed quite naturally and very fulfilling which culminated in a very nice ending.
I kept finding myself asking, can these folks catch a breather or what several times. Because here the nightmare we *thought* was over in book 1 isn't quite done yet. There's more to solve here and more to soldier through.
(I'm really hoping Nora works it out with you know who btw... that's an arc I hope sees a closure in book 3)

This was equally as good as the first book in the series. Truly remarkable. The mystery was a bit more obvious, but what it lacked in suspense it made up through character interactions. And all the Sali-Harper shenanigans were fun to read.

Just wow! This one was even better than the first one and let me tell y’all, book 1 was already excellent!! I was on the edge of my seat since page 1 and was only able to breathe easily in the end 😅 I just hope the author lets Sali and Maggie be happy now but since there’s another book, I’m not sure 😭 they deserve some peace and quiet after everything they went through my god 😩 I just wanna keep them safe 🥺

Let me explain.
1. 4 years after the first book, Salinger and Maggie were in a relationship, they loved each other but no declarations from either party until Maggie got injured. 4 years of couplehood and no Ilys, does that make any sense?
2. Maggie was attacked by a guy wearing the same mask as the psycho in the first book. Other than that nothing else matched and they immediately labeled him as a copycat.
3. Sali's house again used as the command center, even the police commissioner came for case briefing and all.
4. Sali and Maggie shared the same therapist,
Dr. Anita even made house calls after Maggie's attack. Is that a common practice?
5. Salinger acted like a kid with sugar coma most of the time.
6. Ben was still living with Sali. Ben, you're a grow-ss man, why are you still living with Sali?
He became a dad at the end of book 1, the sweet little girl lived with him/Salinger/Maggie whenever she was not with her mum- Ben's ex wife.
There was this scene where he was assumed to be talking with the ex wife in his room and Sali walked in on them having sex. Sali even stayed for a moment and checked out Katie's body. Face palm.
7. This happened in Book 1, I ignored my annoyance but the same was happening in book two and even worse. This bunch of mismatched friends loved to shove/hit/smack each other on the arms/shoulder/thigh. If you would like to join the group but allergic to pain, guard yourself.
8. A copycat wannabe yet no scenario created to make me believe such plot.
9. I didn't spend a cent as it's on KU but my precious time was robbed of by reading this.

Great series!
Ok it's official. Sali and Maggie are now my favorite characters. I adore how they love to "hate" each other. Their playful banter is absolutely heartwarming as well as their obvious love and devotion to one another. This book was better than the first and I didn't think that was possible. Max Ellendale is a great story teller with an exceptional writing style. So much so that I'm actually considering some of her books in the sci fi and paranormal genre, which I normally wouldn't read. I'm anxious to dive into the next book of The Four Point Trilogy but at the same time a little sad that it's the end of this great series.

This 2nd installment of Max Ellendale's Four Point Trilogy, "Point Two," is yet another brilliantly written, superbly depicted psychological thriller wrapped in one of the most captivating, richly absorbing, riveting, deliriously intoxicating love stories I've ever read. A love story depicted like no other that I've come across in lesfic or general fiction, to be honest. How Ellendale managed to dig into Sali and Maggie's deepest realm of their souls and presented it with tremendously addictive style of storytelling and words that intimately expressed their inner psyche with such aplomb, is truly remarkable. I've never read anything like it. A love story that Ellendale fearlessly delved into even the darkest, unspoken corners of the mind and thoughts of the 2 people so in love with each other, with such raw authenticity, is something that I will cherish preciously. Ellendale's genius in character writing and development makes her characters so real that it's like I'm reading a therapist's notes and sessions!
Anyway, back to this 2nd book, it's been 4 years since the Four Point case ended. Sali and Maggie were living happily with their tight-knit family unit that included Ben and his daughter (with his ex-wife, Kate), Olivia, with Moreno and Nora being frequent guests. Sali was retired, spending some of her time giving talks about serial killers and crimes whilst Maggie was still on the job. But everything changed in a heartbeat for Sali when Maggie got shot in the line of duty with her partner and friend, Moreno. Due to the circumstances behind Maggie getting hurt, Sali had to re-insert herself back on the case as an FBI consultant to solve it so she and Maggie could go back to their quiet life.
In this installment, Ellendale delved deeper into Maggie and Sali's relationship and how Sali getting involved again in a potentially dangerous case whilst Maggie was on the sidelines, affected them emotionally. Ellendale weaved an insightful, realistic journey of Maggie and Sali's long-term relationship, how it was tested when they were thrown into a situation where they had to fear for each other's lives again. I was absolutely captivated by the dialogue and exchanges between them when they eventually accepted that only through completely open communication with each other including things that they kept to themselves out of fear of losing each other or affecting their love for each other, could they finally be totally immersed in pure blissful love, devotion and trust, in their relationship - mind, body and soul. I was totally addicted to Maggie and Sali's off-the-charts chemistry, their public displays of affection that was so genuine, their insatiable physical intimacy that was always sealed with soul-deep emotional bond with ravenous effect. Their unspoken promise to each other spoke volumes. Hit me right in the heart with deep, intense feels.
Meanwhile, I got to discover more about Nora from the FBI's BAU, who was Maggie and Sali's colleague in "Four Point" (Book 1). I love Nora. Her calm and collected exterior with undeniably warm and kind eyes, her aloofness slowly but surely unraveled as her friendship with Sali and Maggie became closer in this book, working with Sali to investigate the case that gave Sali a sense of déjà vu. A copycat? The more Ellendale peeled the layers of Nora's tightly-held private life, her adoringly captivating vulnerability being coaxed out in the open by Sali's relentless teasing and prodding, the more I found myself hooked. What was she not telling? What was she afraid of about herself? Fascinating! Yes, as the story progressed, Ellendale finally revealed Nora's truth and I simply LOVED it!! I was truly invested in her well-being.
Besides getting a closer look at Nora, Ellendale also introduced Sali's sister, Harper. And my goodness, what a giant doozy it was when Harper turned up!! Hysterical! With her rascal of a sister, Sali, at the helm, the hilarious moments were priceless! You simply MUST read the book to find out yourselves! You will not regret it! I was beside meself with the chuckles, to say the least! What fun it was! And later, the vital and pivotal role she played. Ingenious. Twisty, disturbing, dark, terrifying, mind-fucking assault of the senses as the story unfolded until the end. Well done, Ellendale!
And what an ending, indeed. Fans of Maggie and Sali's, you do not want to miss this! Utter joy. Simply beautiful. So deserved. LOVE and COMMITMENT.

A gripping, harrowing, yet beautifully concluded sequel.
This book had a lot more drama and anxiety mixed into it. It didn’t disappoint and I’m easily becoming a big fan of Max Ellendale’s work.
I’m very happy with how this story wrapped everything up and that epilogue, oh man 🥲 Mags and Sal are amazing - love my girls
Make sure you read the CWs bc it goes hard just like its predecessor.

Even better than the first one!
I really like that it´s written that you have no idea who the perp is until it´is revealed.
I appreciate it that Nora has way more page time in this one.
I hated that I had to put it down in the most dramatic scenes because I arrived at the office...
I´m already reading the third one!

As good as the first
Loved it, it starts a few years after the last one and continues to follow Maggie and Sali with the addition of Harper. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Gripping, angsty and hot.

Amazing
I have been reading this series for a long while and I have to say, it is always feels satisfying after finishing the book. Like you feel, all the points were touched. So the emotions at the end are always right. That's what I love the most about this book series.

I'm obsessed with this series!
SAPPHIC BOOK BINGO: established couple, not a romance, out of your comfort zone, character with a disability, full-time writer; UNICORN: therapy, twins, 400+ pages (possibly other categories)
WOW! Outstanding follow-up novel! A loose end from catching the killer in the previous book turned out to be the thread that unraveled the investigation. Either an accomplice, or a copycat, started going after the Four Point Killer's survivors, and another gritty and suspenseful investigation ensued. A couple more significant characters became part of the ensemble, as well as put in extreme danger due to their connections to the original characters. Sali's twin, Harper, came to visit and became another resident in the house where Sali, Maggie, and Ben lived. We got to see a softer and more relaxed side of Sali for a short time, until things got terribly out of hand again. A prisoner transfer escape resulted in dire circumstances, but some questions might hot have been thoroughly answered to completely close the investigation.
Book one was excellent, but this one exceeded it. All of the characters were disturbingly impacted, whether they were victims, investigative team members, or loved ones tied to any of them. Loyalty, devotion, self-sacrifices, and trying times built a family out of the primary ensemble, and I couldn't stop myself from becoming emotionally involved with them in the story. Don't miss out on this series!

Max Ellendale delivers again!!!
I swear, this series got better every book— especially considering how high the bar was set with the first one.
This was THE absolute perfection of mixing a suspenseful mystery & love story into a successful novel!!! With both the romance or the crime narratives could be successful books on their own, together its a grand slam!!
With every page I read, the more I identified with & felt connected to these characters then the more I became invested in their journey of revealing pieces of themselves & exploring each other— hostages to the pleasure & pain, intoxication & desperation of love.
It was just so genuinely engaging, emotional, shocking & suspenseful. Absolutely wonderfully written, the story just flowed almost effortlessly & easily.
With every page I read, the more I identified with & felt connected to these characters then the more I became invested in their journey.

WOW!!!! The second book was even better than the first and I absolutely loved the first book! I completely lost myself in this book. It was amazing! I can’t wait to start book three and see what Sali and Maggie are up to. If you haven’t started reading this series, start now! You won’t regret reading them.

A gripping continuation of the Four Point series. A breathtakingly tense book that picks up Maggi and Sali's story four years on from the original story. As good as the first book, this introduces Sali's sister Harper who is another intriguing character. Full of twists,turns and darkness, but ultimately full of love.

Edge of my seat
The sequel does not disappoint.
I am emotionally invested in the characters Sali, Maggie, Harper, Jenny, Anita, Nora, Oli, and even Mercy.
I laughed out loud a couple of times and could feel my heart start to beat faster as I sat on the edge of my seat during an intense few moments.
The romance between Sali and Maggie, the story (criminal fiction), and the intensity, were very well written. Again, I was fully immersed within the pages.
There were just a couple of things that I did not like. The constant slapping, hitting, punching, all while in a joking and teasing manner started to get kind of old. Also, I thought the affection between Maggie and Ben was a bit much. It just seemed a little juvenile at times.
Not that these things will deter me from immediately starting the third book.
The sequel does not disappoint.

Amazing!!!
I can't even find the right words for this book. Every detail perfectly crafted and it pulls you in so easily. You get invested in all characters not just the MCs. Sali and Maggie's story just rips out your heart and shatters it just to put the pieces back together in a happily mended puzzle.

The second book in the Salinger James series is excellent and gripping. It was hard to put the book down once I started reading it. You will need to read first book to understand the case Salinger James and team has been working on. Now, I’m reading the third book in this series... doubt I will get much sleep!

I enjoyed this one better than the first one.I can't imagine any of the couples not belonging together. I can't believe the way I got attached to these characters.
Even tho I loved Maggie ,I hated the way her whole character felt like she was there only for Sali's.She didn't do much besides being a love interest (I still love her)

A Heartfelt Thrillier
There is plenty of twists and turns in this second novel, but they overwhelming theme is love. Friends and family alike and the courage, love and support they give and what you can achieve💞
