When I read “Beyond Love” by C.J. Pinard I not only jumped right into the 4th book of a series but also read my first book by this author.
And I have to say it will definitely not be my last book. The writing is so well developed that while you may notice this is part of a series you are never feeling like you are missing to many pieces, therefore it is easy to read as a standalone.
But you have to be aware that you missed out on some great previous stories and I am def. tempted to go back and read one of the previous books.

I really liked Kyle’s and Adria’s story. The “second chance” in this novel felt real when it came to the interactions between the leads. Thea author eases you into the plot and gives you insights on the high school sweethearts before moving to the present so the development of their new and fresh relationship feels well developed.
And there was a lot going on in the plot, so the reader will never even for a minute want to put the book down.

I am pretty sure there will be many lovers for this book and the followers of this series will adore this story.

Adria and Kyle were high school sweethearts who thought they would be together forever. That all changed when Kyle decided to enlist in the Marines without talking to her first. She walked away in anger, and he left, but neither ever stopped thinking about the other. Now 10 years later, she comes face to face with him again, at her best friend's house. She quickly realizes that she's never gotten over him, but Kyle isn't the same boy who left years ago. I fell in love with C.J. Pinard's talented writing style instantly, and am sad that I'm so late to her Imperfect Heroes party. I was instantly captivated by this story, and I ended up devouring it in a little over an hour, as I didn't put it down once. I love Adria and Kyle, not to mention the awesome cast of secondaries that added in more well placed humor. The emotional angst was palpable, as the second chance at love wasn't easy. Add in a twist out of left field, it's the perfect story. I cannot wait to read the three previous books in this series, so it should come as no surprise after that gushing, that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Beyond Love to all!

Adria and Ky are given a beautiful second chance in Beyond Love.

10 years without contact, fate throws former lovers together in the oddest of ways. The two are so familiar, yet different. Time has changed them both and they both benefited from the growth that comes with time. The characters are realistic, charming and get you invested.

I really liked this book. The characters are engaging, the storyline is fun and hopeful. It is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone and made me want to to read the previous books ASAP!

Ce roman est une petite déception même s’il se laisse lire mais entre clichés hyper éculés et quelques faiblesses, on lève parfois les yeux au ciel. C’est un tome faisant partie d’une série indépendante. Il se laisse très bien lire comme cela même si comme souvent, on croise les autres personnages et que si on veut découvrir leur histoire sans spoiler, ce n’est pas une bonne idée.

L’idée de base est une des plus efficaces dans la romance, c’est à dire une seconde chance en amour. ici, le héros, Kyle et l’héroïne Adria se sont aimés, très jeunes puis la vie les a séparés. Un peu bêtement, Kyle s’est engagé dans l’armée sans prévenir Adria. Elle avait déjà décidé de son avenir. Leur entêtement, leur jeunesse les a poussés à être intransigeants et ils se sont séparés. Dix ans vont passer, riches en évènements, sans qu’aucun d’eux ne tourne vraiment la page sur leur histoire. Un peu par hasard, ils vont se retrouver en Floride, là où ils résidaient au départ. Kyle est revenu et sa vie a complètement changé. Il a perdu une jambe et sa femme l’a quitté, le laissant seul avec son petit garçon. Il a du mal à refaire surface. Quant à Adria, elle est devenue infirmière et a une vie sentimentale plutôt ratée.

I put this on my "Okay" shelf because that pretty much sums it up. Not particularly good or bad. I think book #3 was much the best in this series. I lost interest in this one at about 85% and skimmed the remainder which, as it turned out, was unremarkable and rather predictable. I liked Aid and Ky but wasn't swept away by their story. Some crappy grammar in all four books, so prevalent in American books, and it does grate but I have come to accept it.

They both suffered heartbreak when Ky went to serve in the Marines. Theyre 2 year relationship broke up because Adria didnt want him to go. Many years later Ky is back to Tampa and the old feelings surface. Its a struggle for Ky, after losing his leg and Adrias stalker but the connection is too great to deny.

Touching read in the series regarding armed forces. Plenty of highs and lows and heatbreak.

This was such a wonderful book. From the first page I was rooting for Kyle and Adria. The two of them had been through so much in the ten years they had been apart. Those hardships had molded them into the people they were know which was so different than they had been as teenagers.

Reading about their journeys both separately and together made you appreciate each of the characters that much more.

It was also nice to catch up with the couples from the other books in their series. Duke is still a jerk but he had some great lines in this one. I'm sad the series is over. I fell in love with these imperfect heroes.

I loved Kyle and Adria's story. I didn't want this book to end. I absolutely didn't want this series to end. I loved every book in this series and Beyond Love is no different. Kyle and Adria were high school sweethearts. 10 years have past and they bump into each other at a friend's cookout. They have several things to work through if they want to get back together - a child, soon to be ex-wife, recent ex fiance, new feelings, old feelings, a stalker. All of those things could never stop their love and getting back together.

I've read all the books in this series and loved every one. Each character has there own flaws and issues to overcome but with the help of a great group of friends anything is possible and they find happiness and turn their life around. Kyle and Adria are the main characters in this story and we have seen them a little in previous books so I already liked them. They were once childhood sweethearts but go there separate ways when Kyle leaves to join the army at 17 and don't remain friends. Fast forward to the present day and they meet again and there story begins there. It's a sweet book with a HEA but not without a little drama. Characters from the other books make an appearance which I love, it's great to see how they are doing.

This was a first for me reading this author and it will not be the last. Kyle and Adria are childhood sweethearts who are reunited 10 years later. people change, lives are different but will the feelings still be there. They both realize they never stopped loving each other, but how you move ahead when everything in your past is trying to stop you. Will they fight for what they want?

High school love. The time when you feel like you can spend the rest of your life with this one. It young love doesn't always last.

Adria watched that love walk away from her when he told her he was joining the military and he wasn't going to stay, go to college, and marry her.

Kyle joined the military because he didn't see any other future. Staying where grew up wasn't an option. He didn't plan to watch Adria leave him because of his decision.

After ten years life and friends bring them back to each other. He's lost and found so many things since he left. Kyle returned broken, the military took his leg like it did his first love. Adria has become exactly what she wanted to be, a nurse. But she's recently had her heart broken, again.

The attraction between them has not dwindled. But are they willing to risk everything, even their hearts, to move on with each other? Can the love they had at eighteen be rekindled as adults?

I loved this book. Kyle and Adria show that love can last no matter what happens. The characters are well developed and the storyline drags you in. Once again CJ Pinard writes a story that drags you in and makes you fell like you are living life along with the characters.


While this book is part of a series I would say that it could be read as a standalone. However, it's best to read this after the other books because of a backstory with the other characters that are mentioned.

Ok confession time, one of my secret loves is the injured male/female nurse/PT or whatever genre. So this was a given. Plus I just love the name Adria.

Kyle and Adria aka Ky and Little Flower, are an amazing couple of teenagers. Kyle wants to enlist in the Marines and Adria can't handle that, so they break up.

Fast forward 10 years where Kyle and Adria are back in each other's lives and might have a second chance.

I haven't read this series but I definitely will be. I loved the characters and how flawed but real they were.

WOW how have I not read a C.J Pinard book before , I fell madly in love with her characters and I will be going back to read the series so if you haven't read the first book don't worry you wont be lost but I think I would have enjoyed Beyond love even more . Adria was the perfect heroine she's strong , independent , funny , beautiful on the inside and out , and doesn't fight her feelings for the hero . Kyle just stole my heart total book boyfriend martial he is strong , protective , awesome father , hilarious ,kind , and of coarse dirty talker with some major skills in the bedroom . As a couple these two shared so much didn't hold back when they let their feelings known and after being broken up for ten years their love for one another is still there , they both just got out of crappy relationships , the banter between them had me laughing , and the steamy scenes were super intense in verity of melting ones panties off . The secondary characters were really likable the couples just made me want to read their happy ever afters , Ky's son was sooooo adorable he was a copy of his father .

I love second chance stories. I love feeling the connection that was once broken. This story certainly gives us that. Ten years after leaving Adria for a career in the marines, Kyle is brought back into contact with Adria.

Adria, now a nurse, working to help others, keeping herself busy from a break up. She is working on herself. She is trying to do the independent thing. Walks in Kyle and all that goes out the door. All she thinks about is their life together when they were teens. What could have been their life if he hadn't had left. Every relationship fails because she sees Kyle's face.

These two have a lot to work through, they have a lot of catch up on, and they do it in a great way. There was not a lot of arguing, they just clicked. Kyle was honest, he screwed up, he didn't regret going into the service, he just regretted not making her go with him. Adria, as confused as she may be at times, lets Kyle lead and faces the past and looks forward to the future.

This is my first read by CJ and I loved the writing. I loved the flow and that the story wasn't dragged out for any reason. CJ keeps you intrigued and wanting to see how it plays out. You fall in love with the characters and secondary characters.

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and my goodness, I cannot wait to 1-click the other books in this wonderful series. This is the fourth book in this series, and can be read as a standalone; however, my personal feelings are that I would have liked to have read the others first in order to get a background of all of the characters involved.
Kyle and Adria were childhood sweethearts when they parted, and now 10 years later they are brought together by their friends. Things have changed over the years, and life has left they both broken by circumstances. Will these two have a HEA? Will they heal each other? No spoilers from me, you really need to read this for yourself to find out.
This author has written a beautiful story about second chances, and I was hooked and captivated throughout. I cannot wait to 1-click the other books in this amazing series. I recommend this authors work for all readers.

This is my favorite of the series! I loved Adria and Kyle and even Luke! This book is amazing and it will keep you wanting to read so you can find out what happens!

This is a second chance romance and I loved how it worked out. I felt like both characters did what they needed to do and neither of them blamed each other. It was definitely a two way street to work towards an HEA!!

I love the characters CJ writes. They all have issues and they own them! They don't blame them on others and cause unnecessary drama. I love reading her stories!!

I can't wait to read CJ's next book!!!

When I seen another one from this series available had to dive right in. This author gives you emotion wrapped up in a story as a stand alone even if in a series. Well was captured right away by Adria and Kyle who seed their story then begin to pick at the emotions as I see the dilemma but oh so not going anywhere soon. Drama also snakes its way in as these two try to deny through stubbornness at first a second chance but funny on them. The type of drama this time perfect for me kind I like too gives mystery to the air. The author feeds all your addictions right in this one that when you are finished you are riding on a emotional high from your now favorite characters.

As always I am never disappointed when I read one of C.J. Pinard's books. The characters are always well rounded and have realistic personalities and relationships. I think this book was a great ending to the series. I will admit I wanted to strangle Adria at times and ask what she was doing but I loved that she was stubborn too. Ky was just the sweetest and easy to fall in love with. I was sucked in from the beginning and couldn't put it down. This is easily a book I will be re-reading again and again!

Adria and Kyle were high school sweethearts, Kyle was 18 when he joined the Marines and he and Adria went their separate ways.

Now ten years has passed and they reconnect, but not before dealing with Kyle's past and Adria's issues, but there is no denying they still love each other after all this time.

Beyond Love is about figuring if rekindling a romance will be right for two people who have so much happen since they last saw each other but sometimes you can't forget your first.

Second chances are always the best chances

BEYOND LOVE is the fourth in the series Imperfect Heroes, but it one that can definitely be read as a standalone. This is my first time reading C.J. and now that I have found her books, I will definitely be going back and reading the previous three. Her writing style simply draws the reader in, and makes you want to stay there until the end.

BEYOND LOVE is the story of Adria and Kyle, childhood sweethearts torn apart by the decision of one. Ten years goes by, no contact - no nothing, then suddenly the two of them find themselves once again face to face in the same room.What follows is a beautifully written story that provides fun and laughter and a few tears along the way.

This was a wonderful read - that I completed in one session. C.J.'s characters are believable and realistic, they are what makes you want to know their story. It was an emotional story, but what story isn't when it's about a second chance at love?

Definitely a must read, that I highly recommend.
