Thoughts to Heal: The Shri Guru Granth Sahib Way

Rate this book
This book is meant to reinvigorate your thought process and give your life a new vision and perspective. This book is a spiritual journey with the teachings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The approach is not to be religious or dogmatic but spiritual and liberal. the book contains the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which contains the teachings of Sikh Gurus, other saints and words of eternal wisdom. Each chapter is lke peeling a layer of an pnion, intended to step by step, on a daily basis, unclutter your mind and sharpen your vision. This book is meant for those who are searching for or are at the edge of a new direction, a new beginning in their life but are unsure whether or not to take the plunge. This may also be helpful to those who have deep seated unfulfilled purpose in their life, but are just unsure whether or not to do what they would be happy to do in their lives. Modern day youth often finds itself at cross roads becasue they find a sea of difference in the value system that they have grown up in and the value system that the contemporary society demands. The correct way would be to have a strong value system so that one is unmoved by the conflicting thought processes that one comes across on a daily basis. This book is intended to give that strength and robustness of thought process to those who are always in two minds in choosing whats right for them and what is in front of them.

my aunt had this book on the table and i recognized it, picked it up, and read it all in one sitting

beautiful, short and simple; many reminders to ground myself in the teachings that are so near and dear to my heart and the reason why I am the person I am today. this came to me at the perfect time — I was needing some grounding entering the new year and it also prompted me to go to the gurdwara which as I realized it’s been too long.

limiting pride and arrogance, being a giving and selfless person, prioritizing positive connections due to life’s temporality, leading life with empathy, not thinking about others as much and amplifying people’s happiness for whatever it looks like for them no matter how different than my own, focusing more energy on the self rather than the outside world, treating ALL people with equality and kindness no matter what walk of life are some of the many teachings that have been instilled in me through Sikhi

unfortunately only manufactured through amazon as the writer is from India and has a bunch of editing issues but a great short and sweet book of reminders that’s good to have !

4.5 ⭐️

A great book on self reflection and ones thought process. The writing delivers comforting words in Sikhi teachings and spirituality. Examples given by the author reminds the reader to put faith in God (Vaheguru), and implement human values of; kindness, compassion, and doing good. I teared up when I read about the students raising money to pay for their fees, and took away how God works in miraculous ways when you do good.

Thoughts to Heal is a beautiful read and I read it at a time when I needed healing. Editing does need another glance as words were either missing or repeated in a sentence, but it doesn’t detract from the value of the teachings in this book. 🙏🏽

The author has compiled a list of Gurbani Scriptures from the Sikh faith and has given a brief account of ‘thoughts to heal’ from his perspective. The writing style is very basic and straight to the point. Very simple and easy to read. The aim of the book is to allow the readers perspective of life to focus on uplifting lifes experiences through compassion, love and selfless service, all of which are some of the principles of the Sikh faith.

Overall, the paperback book is small, light and nimble. Reading the book almost feels like a children’s book with very large spaced out lines and short sentences. The content is well thought-out and made for a quick and easy pleasant read.
A good effort from the author to share Gurbani quotes with a personal note of reflections to them.

BEST BOOK EVERRRR! Finished it in just two sittings—so simple, yet so beautifully written. I’ve been searching for similar books because this one just hits different.

I think it’s the way the author so effortlessly yet profoundly connects Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to real-life experiences we rarely stop to reflect on. Definitely a 10/10!
