Silvertail Ridge has changed since they were kids. Both families have been pulled into an ancient battle.
I've always loved books, especially about monsters and magic, so I started writing. I'm working on a prequel and the next few books in the Others of Edenton series, and I have a head full of stories to share.
I'm a stay at home mother with a wonderful husband who lets me write and write to my hearts content.
Sleepwalker Branches of Emrys Book 1 by Brandy L Rivers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Omg I absolutely freakin enjoyed reading this story, I didn't know it would be this awesome oh my was I ever wrong. Brandy L Rivers has outdone herself with this one. I absolutely enjoyed this book! I could not put my reader down. Savon and Nathan have amazing chemistry. If Savon will listen to Nate, But perhaps some things are not meant to be. Or maybe they need to be fought for harder than he ever expected that he would have to fight for. Savon Roantree feels she has loved and lost the one man she planned to marry. and her world fell apart. His father refused to tell her what happened to Nate. Broken-hearted she left, she plan to never set foot in Silvertail Ridge again. But after a bad break-up, she move back home after her brother’s pleas for her too. Silvertail Ridge has changed Both families have been pulled into an ancient battle. Nathan Taggert had a serious accident and his father turn him against his will, but nothing changed for Nate, not when it came to Savon. A tragic accident tore them apart. But when Nate had recovered, Savon was gone. Then his father threatened to kill Savon if he bought her home, so he followed in her dreams. But she always ran from him but he kept trying to reach her. Savon ignored her own brother because he is Nate's best friend. Together they can stand and win. The Sleepwalker story is the first book in the Branches of Emrys series which is really well written and it captivated me in from the beginning and held my attention until the very end. I enjoyed this story it's a fantastic paranormal romance that's steamy hot, with lots of tempers flaring, total devotion, hot warriors with a happy ending! You will want to read this book it will take you on a emotional ride! But the ride is more than worth it! What a awesome romantic read that I highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this book. Because I like sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.
This was my first time reading anything by Brandy L. Rivers and it certainly won't be the last. I love shifter stories, but so many seem to blend together now. Sleepwalker stands out proudly above the rest with a world steep in magic, filled with shifters, fae, sorcery, and more that will transport you right from the very first page! Mystery and suspense are woven throughout this story of true love that has been denied thanks to the evil deeds of others that keeps you riveted all the way to the end.
Savon has never gotten over Nathan, even after twelve years without him he seems to haunt her every moment. Filled with pain and not understanding the full extent of her own abilities she left home to escape. Unfortunately that escape leads her to having to run again, but this time she is going back home. After her brother's urging and narrowly escaping her ex she reluctantly returns only to be thrust right into the presence of the man who shattered her heart.
My heart ached for Savon and all she had endured and survived. Things that would irrevocably destroy another person, Savon may have been damaged but she continued on and kept growing. To say that she was a strong heroine isn't enough, she was beyond just being strong. Even with her strength she was still afraid, still uncertain that her heart would be destroyed again. Nathan had to work to rebuild that.
Nathan himself is what we all dream of when we start reading a shifter romance. He's wise, patient, caring, and of course irresistibly sexy. He knows the damage he inflected against the woman he loves, even though he was left no choice in doing so. He will go to any length to help her understand that even though he was physically gone he was always with her. Once those walls are finally brought down the full extent of their love is beautifully displayed. Together they are an unstoppable force that stands strong in the face of all the evil that is swirling around them.
Savon Rountree has not had a night without dreams of her first and only love since 2 months after her love broke her heart by never coming back after he proposed to her. Now 12 years later, she still sees him in her dreams and even out of them, but she has gotten past the fact that he is alive and never contacted her. She thinks she may be truly insane and decides to move back to her childhood home in Silvertail Ridge and start a new life after a bad recent breakup at the insistence of her brother. She has no idea what she has come home to, the events that her arrival will unleash..Savon's father was a very powerful sorcerer and her mother a Sylvan Fae and Savon has no idea the powers that reside in her.
Nate Taggert never intended to leave his heart behind that day 12 years ago when he proposed to the only woman he loved from the moment she was born, but his father the alpha and circumstances beyond his control would condemn him to stalk her in her dreams. He has tried to stop tormenting her, but she won't let him go? Now that he is before her in the flesh will she let him explain, will she forgive him?
So starts the hope to rid Silvertail Ridge of the evil it has lived with for so long and only true love can be the strong force in this magical war.
This has to be my most favorite Brandy L Rivers book to date!! Right off the bat I was ADDICTED to this storyline. My heart truly BROKE in the beginning for Savon and Nate. They had quite the angst-driven story, let me tell ya! The pain and anguish that Savon felt for years, I felt in my heart! Brandy L Rivers did a phenomenal job in developing that part of the story.
Outside forces kept making things difficult for Nate and Savon along the way. There were a lot of unanswered questions that needed to be addressed in order for them to find true happiness. What happened to Nate's dickish father? Who would become the next alpha of the pack? Who was Jay...truly?
Honestly, the romance aspect of the book had me swooning, but the paranormal side of it had me hooked and needing more! Drama, action, suspense, and of course some steamy scenes made this a true must-read for me. And hey! It's the first book in a series so you best start reading it now before the next one comes out! If you've read the Others of Edenton series, then you'll appreciate some of the side characters!
Paranormal. A town of Werewolves, sorcerer’s, witches, casters, mages, emrys and faes. Savon Roantree loved Nathan and lost him believing he deserted her twelve years before. Insistent that he present her with a ring as proof of his honourable intentions forcing his father to accept their relationship. He hurries to get her a ring. She never sees him again.
Instead his mother attempts to murder his abusive father, later realising Nathan was driving. Believing she murdered her son, she commits suicide. By the time Nate recovered, his father turned him into a werewolf despite his objections and threatened her life if he tried to contact her.
He remained in a coma for two months sequestered by his father to ensure he adapted to life as a werewolf....hopeful their accelerated healing process would reverse the coma. When that failed, he summoned Evangeline a Dreamwalker to help Nate transition.
Nathan, a Dreamwalker remained resolute in his determination to reunite with Savon despite adversity.
Killian, Nate’s father was evil and detested Savon with every fibre of his being. Devastated and alone, she left town, later discovering she was pregnant. She planned to never set foot in Silvertail Ridge again and tried her best to forget her past. If his father suspected they were in contact he threatened to slaughter her.
Fortunately, Savon left before an evil spirit urged her to kill Killian. Her mother wove a powerful protective spell around Savon. Following a bad break-up, she allows her brother, Bran to convince her to move back convinced Nate is no longer in town...Nate lives next door.
Rather, than forget her, Nate followed her in her dreams...as a dreamstalker. No matter how hard he tried to reach her even in her subconscious, she prevailed...to the extent of avoiding her brother (his best friend)...ultimately discovering that Killian fathered Bran and Nathan. Bran is their shared half brother.
Twelve years later, he has a chance make amends—but Silvertail Ridge has changed and the families are embroiled in a battle for control.
Neither of them were celibate whilst apart, neither excuses nor justifies...it simply is a twelve year absence whereby life existed and so did their relationships. Reconciling they agree to move forward.
Finding a collection of hidden letters from her parents, they confess::: “We are part of the Branches of Emrys and work to protect Earth. There are those that would force your abuse of your gifts. We believed if you couldn’t fully access them, you would be safe. Please know locking away your ability was not an easy choice. At the time, it was the only way to slip from sight. You were in the children’s section of a library when a boy, a year older, took the book you were reading and gave you a papercut. Your scream set off every spirit in the building. Books flew at the boy, injuring him. We took you away from there, hid here. Your brother is only your half-brother. Between your Sylvan heritage and sorcerer magic, you will always be a target for those who would use you or destroy you to get what they want.”
Savon is an untrained sorceress in need of help to rein in her power as she commands great force. She is a pure-blooded sorcerer without any formal training to control the intensity of her emotions. Those in close proximity loses their ability to control their familiars until she’s far enough away...her own power doesn’t interfere.”
Justice prevails in the end, Killian is brought back by Savon’s mother (she captured and held him hostage in an alternate realm) to account for his sins. Killian challenges Nathan and Nathan finally defeats him.
Callaghan challenges Savon, demonstrating her insanity and manipulation.
The estranged lovers are finally reunited twelve years later, true love prevails.

This is the first book in a new series, Branches of Emrys. I loved it!
Savon Roantree is a wonderful character. I liked her a lot. She is an artist who also happens to be part Sylvan Fae and Sorceress. She is able to control wild animals, as well as other sorcerers' familiars. She can also speak to the spirits of the dead. Twelve years ago, she fell in love with Nathan Taggart, but he broke her heart and she left home. After her brother convinces her to return home, she finds herself facing her past once more when she comes face to face with the man who claimed her heart.
Nathan (Nate) Taggart is also a wonderful character. I liked him a lot too. He is a dreamwalker and werewolf, and also happens to be a surgeon. Twelve years ago his life changed when a terrible accident ripped him from the love of his life. With his father's threat hanging over his head, Nate let Savon go, but now she's back and he's determined to convince her to give them another chance. However, danger is not very far away and ancient family secrets could tear them apart for good.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author with no expectation of a positive review.
I was eager to begin reading this book as I love the Others of Edenton and Others of Seattle series of books. This new series is an off-shoot of the Edenton series (though not sure if it also includes the Seattle side as I haven't had a chance to read all of the books in that series yet) and contains some old faces, as well as the new ones. Liz, Tremaine, Robert and Preston all make a welcome return. I must admit that I also liked meeting Savon's brother, Bran. He is also a wonderful character. He has his mother's Sylvan magic, but was turned into a werewolf after being shot.
The story is a mix of romance, magic and danger, and takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. I must admit that I raced through the pages as I was completely gripped by the story. The story is told through the eyes of both Savon and Nate, so the reader gets to see their thoughts and feelings. Although this is the first book in the series, I felt like I was meeting up with friends. This is because I have grown to love the world in which these characters live. This book has all the hallmarks of being another fantastic series. Savon and Nate have to overcome a heartbreaking past, but it's the future and what the secret group, Branches of Emrys, face that intrigues me now. I'm looking forward to finding out how the story arc develops and how the sub-plots fit in.
The story doesn't end in a cliffhanger, though it left me wanting to read the next book in the series as soon as I can.
Brandy L. Rivers has written an intriguing start to a new series. I love her fast paced writing style, and the flow is wonderful. Her characters are lifelike and likeable. With her ability to write in both the paranormal and contemporary romance genres, she is one of my go to authors when I'm in the mood for a sexy read.
Due to explicit scenes of a sexual nature, I do not recommend this book to readers under the age of 18. However, I do recommend this book if you love hot erotic paranormal romances full of werewolves, vampires, fae, druids etc. - Lynn Worton
* I received an ebook from the author, but that in no way affects my review or opinions. *
I have read most of author Brandy L. Rivers books, and it would be impossible to choose a favorite at this point. I love them all - some more than others but I LOVE them!! This is book 1 in a new series that brings some of our favorites from other series/books in for some cameo appearances. She weaves a plot that leaves the reader on the very edge of their seat. They want to know what is going to happen next while at the same time they never want the book to end....it's a dilemma, so I just read it a few times to make sure I have gotten every last detail!
This book introduces us to Savon and Nate. Savon has had nothing but bad luck when it comes to romance - it seems as if her life will be forever haunted by dreams of Nate...or are they dreams? What if he could speak to her in her dreams? What if he never stopped loving her? Nate doesn't know if he can ever get Savon back because of things that happened in the past, but he will NEVER stop trying. Add in some magic, some drama, a little bit of mystery and some romance and you have a 5 star, 100% amazing read!
Author Brandy L. Rivers leaves no stone unturned. All of her books can be read as a stand alone and they can all be counted on to have a satisfying ending. Her writing style is smooth, her characters fun, flirty and relatable (believe me, it sounds weird, but it is true) and her plots unique! She has everything that you could want in a book in hers! I can't wait for the next book - I am already bugging her on a daily basis. Check out this book or any of her others and you will be a stalker, I mean fan in no time!

Savon Roantree at one time loved and lost the man she had planned to marry, that was Nathan Taggert, who vanished and took her heart with him. His own father refused to tell her if Nathan was alive or dead, so with a broken heart and spirit Savon left town and as far as she knew she would never return to her home town of Silvertail Ridge. She moved far and began a new life but her heart was still with the man she loved, as she attempted to forget him she found someone who came close, but after a really bad break up she finally listened to her brother and moved back home. Bran her brother did omit one small detail Nate (Nathan) was living next door to her again. Can one call Bran sneaky, oh yes one can. For Nate nothing had chanced when it came to Savon she still held his heart and he still loved her. A tragic accident tore them apart. By the time he recovered, she was gone. When his father threatened to kill Savon if he ever went to her, he did the only thing he could—followed in her dreams. No matter how hard he tried to reach her, she always ran. She even ignored his best friend, her own brother. Twelve years later he finally has the chance to set things right, the only thing he has to do is to get her to listen to him, easier said then done. Their story weaves you into a world that may or may not exist, Fae, werewolves, sorcerers and magic, their love has lasted through all they had gone through, will they find what both almost lost will they manage all that is to come.? Read it, might be slow to start with, but dang it, it does pick up speed and takes you into a wonderful world.
Savon thinks she is crazy she sees the man she lost twelve years ago in her dreams but they are so real. Savon and Nate were dating and one day he asked to marry her and insisted he was going to get a ring but he never came back.Savon tried everything to find him even asking his father who hated her if he was alright. Finally she left Silvertail Ridge never knowing if Nate was alive or not but her brother found out when Nate came back as a surgeon but he never came back to her except in her dreams. Nate couldn't see Savon or his father Killian would kill her and Nate would rather die. When Nate came back to town it was after his father was killed but Jay the wolf who killed him didn't become Alpha and neither did Nate. When he finally gets to see Savon she is hurt and doesn't trust him but Nate knows this and is willing to work on her. When Savon comes back she is more powerful than anyone has ever seen but there are those who want to kill her and the Wolfssengen Pendant they believe she can find. I just loved the mixture of shifters and mages, witches and all the power they possess. I really loved the idea of lost loves and family drama this was a great story and I was fortunate enough to be gifted it from the author whose stories I just love.
Absolutely amazing! I love all of Brandy L Rivers' books, but Sleepwalker is one of my new favorites. It is the start of a new spin off, The Branches of Emrys. Who doesn't love a chance to learn and see more of Preston? Even if only peripherally. Sav and Nate take center stage in the gripping story. Being young while in love doesn't you can't have found your soulmate. Sav and Nate have the real deal but Nate's father stepped in to shatter their relationship and keep them apart. Since Nate and Sav couldn't be together he kept close tabs on her through her dreams, the only place his dad couldn't interfere. Years have past, his dad is gone, for now, Sav returns home, hurt from Nate's desertion. Nate is determined to win Sav back, but other forces are at work to keep them apart. With some yummy help from Preston, Tremaine and Robert, Nate and Sav will fight to set things right in Silvertail Ridge. This is definitely a can't miss read!
Fast paced paranormal romance. Complete with a few friends from Edenton and Seattle! This story starts with soul mates who found each other earlier only to be torn apart by their parents and fear. And now a bit about the story...
Savon is finally coming home after 12 years. A good relationship ending badly sent her away and now she has a bad relationship (Nic) ending even worse... She doesn't know that her first love (Nate) is also back in town, which could have her brother (Bran) running for the hills when he finds out. Then there is Jay... she's drawn to him, but not the same as with Nate. Then Nic tracks her down and all Hell breaks loose!
Favorite passages: - “There’s a place we all go dancing in the next town. Don’t have to deal with all the snarly dogs that way.” - “I feel like I’m in a game of tug-a-war. I don’t want to be the rope.”
Loved Sleepwalker! I'm relatively new to Paranormal Romances, recently branching out to this genre, and thank to reads like this one I'm becoming a fan. I've read other books from this author, but this is my first PNR and I'm super curious on the series preceding this book. This book has it all: beautiful second chance love story, steamy love scenes, and great backstories. After Nathan disappeared, Savon was left to pick up the pieces that were left of her life. She moved away before reaching her full potential, therefore she had to find others who would help and guide her in becoming what she was meant to be never fully forgetting Nate. For some reason, he was always there. Now she's back home and Nate is determined to explain and win her back. But things won't be that easy since besides winning her back there are other unexplained events going that need clarification and resolution.
There was A. Lot. Of things happening, loads of people and their POV. I’ve never read from this author before and this might be a first book in a series but it had me confused with who is who and what they are like I would need to read he other books in her other series to understand this one. Don’t get me wrong it was good but I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a war that I don’t know what their sides are about. The chemistry between the Nate and Sevon is out there and they bring readers into their world and their darkness is their pasts. 12 years since they last saw each other due to an accident, a coma and Nate’s father to push Sav into running and Nate into depression. His story is rough to read what bits and pieces here in this story from verbally and physical abuse from his father and the killing threats towards Sav.
Sleepwalker is the first book in the new series, Branches of Emrys, by Brandy L Rivers. This book focuses on Savon Roantree and Nathan Taggert. They fell in love at a young age but a tragic accident kept them part and forcing Savon to flee her hometown. She has returned to home only to find the cause of her broken heart living next door.
Brand L Rivers continues to write books that keep her reader’s attention from start to finish. She has once again created a world filled with magic, passion, and intrigue. What I love about her series is that it does not solely focus on one or two characters but on a town and its inhabitants. I love “seeing” the previous characters in the other books without taking away from the main characters in the current book. Brandy is automatically
Decent enough read. Whole lot of world building to sift through with the hybrids..... you have werewolves that can turn others, paineaters, sleepwalkers, dreamwalkers, fae, sorcerers. A bit distracting to the overall story for me. Maybe I just didn’t wan to have to pay attention to all of the choices and nuances.
It’s a second chance romance between Savon and Nate who were torn apart by Nate’s father. A lot of honesty from Savon on how Nate broke her heart.
Not a big fan of Savon saying she was sorry for not listening given how much Nate hurt her.
Fairly typical ending for the bad guys. A couple of plot set ups for future books for other characters,
Loved the start to this new series. Loved the twists and turns of the new characters and situations. REALLY loved seeing Tremaine, Robert and Preston. I've missed them. As always Brandy L Rivers has written amazingly real characters that you can't stop reading about. Nate was beautiful. I have to admit that Savon drove me mad at first, I really thought I was going to have a problem with her character but it all came good. I can't wait to read more in this series. I voluntarily received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
I have read just about all Brandy Rivers book series and so love them all. This book was so freaking amazing read I can't wait for more in this new series. Now in this book Savon thinks she has lost her mind cause every time she turns around her ex-boyfriend is in her dreams and she sees him when she awake for the last 12 years. So after a bad time where she lived she deice to move back home to Silvertail Ridge. Nate is the ex-boyfriend that Savon been running form for the last 12 years. To know more about this awesome book grab your copy today so so so a must read!!!!!!!
Brandy Rivers weaves us a new world with this spin off series as only she can. Savon moves back home in hopes to find calm and peace only to actually move back to the man who destroyed her emotionally and wrecked her heart. Nate has so many secrets he wants to share but if he cant get Savon to listen to the explanation, how can he fix the past? So many twists and turns and betrayals that we have come to love in Brandy Rivers worlds that she so eloquently builds for us, this series is already turning into my favorite!
Savon lost the love of her life...and no matter how many questions she asked, they all went unanswered. Not being able to stay in the town where she lived, she moves away to start over. That didn't go well either , being with other men...dreaming of Nate...she thought she was going a little crazy. Her brother urges her to come back to town where she finds her neighbor to be none other than her "dead" Nate. This book has a lot going on in it... takes a bit to get through, but a good read. I see many other stories coming out of this first book.
I can't say enough about this book another awesome addition to this fantastic series that has everything you want in a supernatural world the way the Author tells the story she makes you feel apart of it with action of all the parts of story that start to enfold that was done wrong and the moving chess pieces being moved to fix the wrongs from the past and stop world distraction . so look forward to the next book!
I've given this book 5 Stars. Because quite frankly it deserves it the storyline is amazing old characters new characters you're going to love the lead characters. I could see where this was going to go into other stories old storylines are coming together. I love the way she bought the friendships new and old. I could go on forever but all I will say is read it you will not be disappointed.
Two souls meant to be together, an evil so bad it almost tears them apart. So much goes on in this story, you're swept up in the intensity of the plot. There are characters from other books who are weaved smoothly into this tale and their presence feels welcome and familiar. As in all Ms Rivers books you are left rooting for the good guys and believing the bad guys got what they deserved.
I am absolutely in love with anything Ms.Rivers writes. This was a breakaway from her Others of Seattle and Others of Edenton books, yet still had some familiar characters that we have all grown to love. We have all had misunderstandings in our life but none like Savon has had.I can not wait to meet more of the people in Silvertail Ridge. I am sure I will love all of them as much as I love the ones in Seattle and Edenton.
Ms. Rivers is an exceptional author. While she leaves the reader in suspense for one character another is busy falling in love and stopping a war. What more can a reader ask for? You have love, intrigue, suspense and drama. All combined to create an amazing story that you don't want to end. To the author: Please never stop entertaining us with your writing. Everyone needs an escape from reality once in a while and your books make it very easy to forget 'real' life. Thank you.
Sleepwalker is a beautiful story of a bond that no outside force can break. I loved this first book in this series. Be prepared because it is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and paranormal actions. I am looking forward to the next story in this series.
