Blake Frostdeth dreams of becoming the first player ever to recover Captain Ravencrest’s cursed treasure. To do so, he must collect three clues. One big problem: each clue is heavily guarded by high-level monsters and lethal traps. After failing repeatedly to retrieve the very first clue, Blake gets so discouraged that he nearly calls off the quest. All seems lost until he lucks upon a young Shadow Dragon that he raises as a pet named "Ravage". With Ravage at his side, Blake may now stand a chance to become the first player to set eyes on the legendary treasure.
Another goofy tale by Garrett Boggs. The hero sets out on his Pokémon adventure clad in thrift store gear. He wins a pet and chases after the big prize. This story had me smiling through most of it. It's a light hearted litRPG. Don't pass it or Warscapia up (unless you are the too serious type that has no time for silly childish things, if so walk on by. Nothing to see here). Almost as much fun as playing with Lego's.
Garrett Boggs, a comedic genius, has done it again in his second novel "Dragon Mastery." The main character cracked me up the entire time. This guy literally could not catch a break, until he was joined by his pet dragon who taught him about friendship and teamwork. They had a really strong relationship together throughout the book. I thought the writing was easy to read and very humorous. I literally LoLed while reading this book. I am looking forward to what this author will give us next.
Dragon Mastery: Daybreak grabbed my attention from the first page. As a noob to this genre, I have to say that I am glad to have found it and read this book first. The reader has a sense that they are truly adventuring along with Blake, accessing his emotions and challenges as well as his triumphs in full color. The writing was humorous. I imagine most would love to live in this world. I truly recommend this book for anyone, even those who are not "gamers," to read.
Pretty good story, and thankfully mostly free of the typos and grammar errors in most LitRPG books. There were enough that more proofreading wouldn't hurt, but not so many that the story was unreadable. I liked this one, and while I thought some of the world mechanics were odd, that in no way detracted from the enjoyment of the story. Good stuff here.
The story was okay, EXCEPT for the MC's motivations. It was as though he defined himself as "the one who would find the treasure". There isn't a whole lot to identify, or even LIKE about a person who keeps going ON and ON about that
That was...pretty good. Very imaginative. Realistic in that Blake continues to waver in his resolve. I can't wait to read whatever Mr. Boggs comes out with next. I consider him an author to follow.
A fun grand adventure! I really enjoyed this great story. Fun for young readers and adults alike. Good Job Mr Boggs I'll be looking for more of your work in the future.
Another great book from Garrett Boggs. This one is more of an advanced read than his previous published work. It’s well-written and engaging from start to finish. Highly recommend!
