Jill Kemerer begins a new series with The Rancher's Mistletoe Bride and I'm excited to read each book in the series. I love the setting: a ranch in Wyoming. I've always wanted to visit this area and Kemerer brings it alive to the reader.

Lexi Harrington needs a manager for her inherited Wyoming ranch when her father dies. She owns a wedding planning business in Denver, CO and doesn't really want to stay in Wyoming. She hires Clint Romine for the job, but soon she is distracted by him. And he with her. Both Lexi and Clint have issues to work through, and Jill Kemerer explores those issues very well. The reader learns important spiritual lessons through her well developed characters. God offers forgiveness and home to all His children...if they allow Him. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.

How on earth is the only the first book I've read by Jill Kemerer?! This is her sixth book with Love Inspired and I'm just getting on board now? I need to hand in my avid reader card and go sit in the corner and think about what I've done...or not done...as in read the first five books by this author.

Absolutely love this cowboy-centric love story! And it's really has a huge modern-day cowboy focus which is divine. As is cattle dog, Banjo! He knows hero material when he sees it and he sees it in Clint even though Clint wouldn't agree. This cowboy hero really touched my heart. And this story is a powerful illustration of how our own doubts about our self-worth can stand in the way of God's greater plans for us.

Clint comes from a rough background and he tries to compensate by holding himself to unrealistic standards that he has no hope of ever meeting. He's positive that he's not good enough for Lexi so, even though he's attracted from the get go, he makes a concerted effort to not do anything about that attraction. Talk about a slew of almost toe-curling moments. I was on romantical tenterhooks the whole read.

And Lexi isn't much better because she's got her whole life mapped out and that's happening in Denver not Wyoming so she's got to nip this crushing on her new ranch manager in the bud. Gotta love two stubborn people who are obviously good for each other digging in their heels while trying to prove they are not!

A delightfully frustrating love story that kept me glued to the page until I heaved a big sigh of satisfied relief when I reached 'the end.'

The setting on a ranch in a small town in Wyoming right before Christmas drew me right into Jill Kemerer’s book, The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride. The main characters, Clint and Alexandra, are carefully crafted and endearing. They both have some problems they need to overcome, and some growing and stretching and decisions to make. I loved how the author wove an inspirational thread of trust, faith, and forgiving oneself throughout the story. This is a clean, sweet Christian fiction book. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

This is a sweet romance filled with lots of real life questions/worries/stress. This is the first book in her new Wyoming Cowboys series. I am officially hooked and looking forward to the next book. I must admit when I picked this book up I couldn't put it down until the last page was turned so for me it was a one sitting read.
This story is set in Sweet Dreams, Wyoming, but most of the story takes place on Rock Step Ranch. As the story opens we meet Clint Romine heading to Rock Step Ranch for a job interview with the new ranch owner, Alexandra (Lexi) Harrington, who he attended high school with. Lexi and Clint are both complicated characters, but they felt so real to me. Lexi has recently and suddenly lost her father. She is not only dealing with her grief, but she also has to figure out how to keep the ranch running, because she has her own thriving business in Denver that she needs to get back to. Clint has had set backs in his life that has shaped him into the man he is. 5 years ago he lost his own ranch and the loss of his dream has changed him.
I was drawn into this sweet plot immediately. For me it was a spectacular real! The author does a great job weaving words together to bring the plot and characters to life with her imagery. The friendship between Clint and Lexi is conveyed in a very genuine way. The characters are complex and have real issues, but they are resolved realistically. This story has elements of grief, trust, romantic tension, second chances, crisis of faith and love. This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a clean, feel good romance.

I loved absolutely everything about this book, including the cover!
Lexie and Clint are characters that I genuinely liked from the very beginning.  They are opposites, but much more alike than they think.  She’s a wedding planner and settled, he’s a rancher in need of a job, which brings him to Lexie’s ranch.  Clint is perfect for the job because Lexie is grief-stricken over the loss of her father and Clint has suffered a big loss of his own.    They each have their own strengths , they are just in a place in their lives where they need to rely on others for a while.
I loved the setting and the description of the ranch.   The author made me feel like I was actually there.  The story moved at a perfect pace, there was nothing that was hurried and yet at the same time, there was never a time that I felt the story dragged on.
In addition to the sweet romance, there’s an inspirational thread woven in which added to my enjoyment of the story.    I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
I recommend this book to readers that a enjoy clean and well written romance with memorable characters.

The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride ( Wyoming Cowboys )
By: Jill Kemerer
Oh, this is a must read. I loved it and did not want to put it down. The story and the characters, both are well developed. The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride is the first in the series Wyoming Cowboys. This is a sweet inspirational romance and Jill Kemerer hooked me right at the start. Lexi is a wedding planner , but after loosing her father she comes back to the ranch to settle her inheritance. Clint is down on his luck and needs a job. Lexie needs a manager for the ranch and thinks Clint is the right man for the job. He loves ranching . How will Lexie feel if she finds out Clint’s secret he is holding back? Can these two work together? Lesson here is to learn to forgive yourself.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, buy was not told that I had to give a positive review.

What a cute read! Clint and Lexi are both hard workers that must grieve something before moving on, but how I enjoyed the colder setting with cows and the season of Christmas :) Their nicknames were also well written and well suited for them. Really enjoyed their story, very nice!

I actually really liked both Clint and Lexi from the get-go. It was easy to see how, despite their heartaches, they honestly were trying to live as God wanted them to live.
If only they would get out of their own way! (but seriously, don't we all get in our own way at times?) To see them try to push aside their feelings for each other, either out of a misplaced sense of unworthiness, or an uncertainty about what their future plans should be was a wee bit frustrating, to say the least! But, as I was wanting to talk some sense into both MCs, I had the realisation that I wouldn't likely be so frustrated with them if I didn't believe in them and want the best for them.
I am glad that in the absence of parents, both Lexi and Clint had good mentors and friends to help them figure things out and point them back to God's truth.
(side note that I absolutely love that Clint's 'chosen family' of brothers from his time at the group foster home is going to be the focus of this series!)

if you’ve read anything by Jill Kemerer, then you’re going to enjoy her new series!

Clint Romine is a good man, but lacking in confidence in a big way. It’s a bit refreshing to find a man who’s willing to go above and beyond when doing his job, yet who is humble and down to earth. I think that’s one of the reasons Lexi Harrington is attracted to him–he’s the opposite of most cowboys she’s known.

The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride is the first book in Jill Kemerer’s newest series, the Wyoming Cowboys series, and I can’t wait to read the sequels. I loved this story! I love how Clint does his job, and watches over Lexi, too. I was lost when he prepared chicken noodle soup for her!

But that’s enough chitchat. I don’t want to ruin the story for you. I’d rather you read the story for yourself.

Happy reading!

After the unexpected death of her father, Lexi Harrington moves back to the ranch in Wyoming just until she can hire a manager. Clint Romine seems the perfect candidate with his ranching background and quiet confidence. In this temporary situation, does God have permanent plans for these two?

I admired Lexi in this story. It's not often you find a female in a lead position in a story and she was the ideal character to fill this role. Strong, independent and built her wedding planning career from the ground up on her own. She has smart business sense and her top priority is keeping up the ranching side of her life in honor of her father. Her heart is torn with grief and she begins to feel alone in the world. While Clint knows a thing or two about loneliness being a foster kid most of his life. Feeling like he has no one or nowhere to call home. God is in the business of blending families together, and hearts too for that matter! Nobody is worthless or forgotten in His sight. I loved how these two learned that lesson for themselves. How they helped each other through the tough times of their past with a mutual understanding and a friendship being built. They have to work out all the kinks of course, but time will heal all wounds along with reminders of God's love. This was a very sweet happily-ever-after story that tugs at your heartstrings and warms you head to toe! Along with plenty of reminders for your own faith walk. Lastly, Jerry was a great mentor to Clint, always ready with his wise advice and unusual parables to teach life lessons. I think he was my other favorite character! I can't wait for the next installment of the Wyoming Cowboy series!

I might say this with every book Ms. Kemerer writes, but it's always true. This was my favorite! If you love a tough cowboy with a soft heart that's been broken more times than it should, and a strong, compassionate heroine, you'll love these main characters. Throw in the Christmas holidays, a tender and heartwarming romance, a lovely but not preachy message of hope and faith, plus an old ranch dog, and this makes for one terrific book full of all the feels. Also, it felt like I was right there on the Wyoming ranch in winter--which I thoroughly loved. I enjoyed it all the way through and closed it happy, smiling, and satisfied.

I'm always amazed at Kemerer's ability to create vivid settings and characters in just a few pages. Featuring a hunky cowboy, a wedding planner, and a Christmas romance, this is the perfect book to welcome in the upcoming holiday season. I can't wait for the following books in her Wyoming cowboys series!

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride opens the Wyoming Cowboys series with a delightful, faith-based, emotional romance between Lexi and Clint. Lexi’s father has recently passed away, leaving her the Rock Step Ranch as her inheritance. The ranch is her home, but Lexi now lives in Denver, where she’s opened a successful wedding-planning business. Right now, she’s juggling grief, the needs of her business, and the need to hire a ranch manager she can trust because she’s not planning on staying in Wyoming… or is she?

Clint is gearing himself up to go through with the interview for the ranch manager position. He’s a man who has dealt with so much loss; the only family he’s ever had is the found family he formed with three other kids who were also in the foster system. He’s made mistakes, huge mistakes in his mind, and he’s second-guessing whether he can trust himself with the future of Lexi’s ranch. He’s accepted that he’ll always be alone; no one wants him around for very long anyway, and with the decision he made in the past, perhaps that’s understandable. Clint is a man living in the past, reliving an honest mistake over and over again to the point where he actually believes that he is unworthy of anyone’s trust or affection. This ranch, this woman could show him just how wrong he is… but it’s not going to be easy to convince this stubborn cowboy that he’s worthy of Lexi’s love and so much more.

I enjoyed The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride so much. I’m going to point out now that any story that hasn’t been read by me is a “new” title, no matter the publication date. Please don’t turn your nose up at the book if it’s been around for a bit; you’ll be missing so much. (Lecture over)

Lexi and Clint are both wounded souls, yes, Lexi is too, but in a different way than Clint is. Each has regrets that, to some degree, define them. And each needs to let go of the past and forgive themselves to heal. Watching them come to this realization while fighting their growing attraction to each other was an emotional journey. I loved Clint’s “brothers” in his found family, and I can’t wait to experience the stories of these fine men to come. This romance is well-written and emotional, and it brings much-needed reminders to us all. Love isn’t always easy, but it’s worth the challenges, and sometimes the first step in finding that forever kind of love is in forgiving ourselves. If this sounds like your kind of romance, then you’d love The Rancher’s Mistletoe Bride.

The story line griped my attention from the get go. I was excited for how it would progress and what kind of obstacles would be thrown in the paths of Lexi and Clint. It was a pleasant story. I would definitely recommend it. Jill is definitely an author to follow and to add to your reading repertoire. Her stories are consistently good and worth using as a release from the stressed of every day life.

My only con was that my imagination (which is always going crazy) was hoping for a little bit more excitement in the way of obstacles. Like the confrontation between Lexi and her VP could have been a bit more dramatic and the conman from Clint's past could reappear and attempt to cause problems. The story was great without this but I cannot stop imagining all sorts of scenarios. I'm sure Jill had her own struggles with nailing down an exact story path for her characters. This is not a slight at all toward the author or her book. It really is great without all the added extras.

I did receive an early release copy to review but I did not allow that to color my review.

This book was absolutely phenomenal. It showed how Clint struggled emotionally throughout his entire life to be part of real natural family. He was an orphan since he was 4 years old, being sent to numerous, sometimes, abusive foster homes. He is created with such compassionate, dedicated and hard working personality.

Lexi, at the beginning of our story continues to feel guilty over her father unexpected death, from cancer. She struggled and desperately wanted help to take care of her father's ranch while managing her wedding business in another State. She also felt like she did not belong anywhere.

Clint, wholeheartedly, and genuinely helped her with lots of unfamilar task while the at the ranch as they began to fall in love.

I highly recommend this book and I'm very excited to read all other books by Ms. Kemerer.

This book is also under the title, 'A Bride for Christmas'.

This is such a sweet romance. Two characters engulfed in their own pain and doubts find themselves attracted to each other despite their declaration to be no more than boss and employee. As they tiptoe around each other, the reader witnesses their romance unfold to its satisfying and heartwarming conclusion.

While this might be the first book of Kemerer's I've read, it certainly won't be my last. Her ability to create a moving scene and tap into her characters' emotions pulls you in right away. These characters are so real, and how they end up filling each other's needs and finding their way to each other despite the reasons they've decide they should remain apart, is truly touching. If you're a pushover for seasonal romances like I am, you need to read The Rancher's Mistletoe Bride.

Both will need to move past the pain to find love at Christmas...

I'm always up for a good Love Inspired book, there is just something about these little-ish books that is so much fun to read. And there are so many great new authors to discover. Now, Jill Kemerer isn't a totally new-to-me author, I've read one of her previous books, so I knew I was in for a good story when I cracked open The Rancher's Mistletoe Bride. And I was not disappointed, Jill Kemerer delivers plenty of romance, and even a dash of danger, on the windswept Wyoming landscape. The Rancher's Mistletoe Bride was a sweet romantic tale with a great message about hope and forgiveness, along with some lovely Christmas cheer.

When Lexi Harrington comes home to the Wyoming ranch she inherited, her goal is to quickly find a manager then head back to Denver where her wedding planner business awaits. However, the closer she gets to her new manager, Clint, the harder leaving becomes.

Successful wedding planner, Lexi, loves big city life, but when her father leaves his Wyoming ranch to her after his death, she must return home to ensure the ranch's survival. With the help of ranch manager, Clint, and all his quiet brooding and mystery, she begins to envision a different life than the one she had planned.

Maybe it is because I love Wyoming...or Christmas...or Jill Kemerer's writing style, but I really enjoyed this book. The love story was clean and sweet. The characters were likable and their backstory makes you cheer for them all the more. It was a quick read, even for a slow reader like myself, and it will leave you excited for the next books in this series!

A pleasure to read, a simple fun love story in all the right ways. The prayers they prayed felt honest and it was a breath of fresh air to read a book by someone in this world who writes about waiting to consummate marriage after the marriage vows...The story did not feel hokey, sappy or cheap. A first romance novel for me...i have always avoided them. This one mostly felt believable, yet with the right amount of dreaminess and romance thrown in. A nice easy read if you value strong moral values and a Christian perspective. And then there's the cowboy theme, can't go wrong with that...gets a girl every time!

I did not think I was going to enjoy a book about a ranch. How could I relate? I was wrong. I loved The Rancher's Mistletoe Bride. Jill Kemerer has a way of transporting me to the time and place of the characters in her books. This was no exception. It held my attention. I was right there with Clint and Lexi on Rock Step Ranch. The romantic suspense was a page turner. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Wyoming Cowboys series. Thank you to Jill for opening a window to a new setting for me.

I enjoyed the first book in the Wyoming Cowboys series. Lexi and Clint are both wary of forming attachments. Lexi hires Clint to run Rock Step Ranch for her while she runs her wedding planning business from a distance. Clint believes what people have told him about himself. Lexi is all alone in the world and doesn't want to ruin the legacy her recently deceased father. Can they believe in themselves and in God?

I'm hoping the tease of a history between Amy and Nash means that their story will be a future book.

Author, Jill Kemerer, captures the essence of love, worth, and hope set among the starlit expanse of the Montana countryside in this newest release. I enjoyed the development of the heart-touching theme weaved throughout along with a cast of characters that felt authentic to the setting. It was easy to get swept away in the details of the story as I imagined myself curled up on the couch next to Banjo watching Lexi and Clint's story unfold before me.

I won this from a Goodreads giveaway!
Lexi needs a manager for her ranch after her father dies. She hires Clint, who she knew from high school but never talked to. He grew up as a foster kid, and with no family to share the holidays with they both decide to spend them together.
I loved how not only their relationship grew, but also their relationships with God. It didn't take up too much of the book, but their prayers and time they spent in church together were some of my favorite parts.
This is perfect for anyone who loves inspirational romance.

This book is a great start to a new series by Ms Kemerer! Oh my!! What's not to love about this book! A handsome broody cowboy named Clint! A girlie girl heroine who loves to sparkle and see other's dreams come true! And an old dog named Banjo! These things plus more make this sweet romance a must read!
