Harmless

Rate this book
He’s got a secret...
Roan Gregory, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has managed to paint himself as a loner in recent months. There’s a reason for that. And he’s got every intention of keeping that reason a secret. That is, until he no longer has the option.

He’s got a secret, too...
Colton Seguine, defenseman for the Austin Arrows, has gotten good at keeping the world from finding out that he’s gay. He knows exactly what he can and cannot do. And with whom. That is, until he sees Roan for the first time and all bets are off.

Some secrets are too big to keep.
Temperatures soar when this brooding bad boy gets his first taste of this smoking hot hockey player.

Can Roan and Seg push past each other’s defenses? Or -- thanks to the way the cards have been dealt -- will the time they spent together prove to be just a harmless one night stand?

So disappointed. Nicole Edwards was a go-to author for me, but after stumbling across this ignorant biphobic statement (within the first few pages!), it's safe to say I won't be reading any of her books anymore.

He didn't do bisexual. He had absolutely no intention of being with some guy who would wake up the next morning, crying and whining because he was so fucking confused about his life. Pussy or dick, it wasn't that hard to figure out which you preferred.

I've had it confirmed by several people that this biphobic statement never gets addressed later in the book. So, it's not part of the character's development or the story arc. Just flat out bigotry. A harmful drive-by statement that continues to perpetuate a negative stereotype. A viewpoint that bisexuality isn't a valid identity. Bisexual individuals don't exist. They're just confused.

I don't want to support an author who would so carelessly include a comment like that in their book without having it addressed as harmful. It hurts and alienates an entire group within the LGBTQ+ community...a community that this author tells stories about and profits from. I won't support that in any way. Not with my reading time, and certainly not with my money.

I am a huge Nicole Edwards fan. I have read many of her books and "Ethan" was actually one of the first MM books I've ever read. Needless to say, is that I loved that book and have been reading a lot of MM ever since. Now don't get me wrong, I still read MF and  Nicole Edwards is also one of my favorite MF and MMF authors. So yes...there was some fangirling going on when I received an ARC for this book !!

First things first...This book can be read as a stand-alone, though I would very much recommend the 3 books in this series that came before this one. It would also help you understand the dynamics between the characters better. Also, one of the main MC's is a hockey player from the "Austin Arrows" series. So far both books in that series are MF, but who knows what's in store for the future (please Nicole give us some more MM or MMF).

Anyways, this time we get Roan's story. Those of you who have read the previous book, know that something has been up with Roan for a while. Non of his friends however, seem to know what's been going on, they only know that Roan has been taking care of his drug-addicted sister. If it's up to Roan, he will keep it that way. Some things are better not shared and his sister is one of those things.

bewerkte foto:

When he's at a bar one night he meets Colton Seguine (Seg). At first he's not really interested in talking to the man, but he soon learns, that the presumably straight and famous hockey player is coming on to him....and when he offers a one night stand, with no strings attached.....who could say no to that. Not Roan...

yes.gif (500×281)

What happens next, has to be one of the hottest sexscenes, I have ever read. One thing is always certain, when reading a Nicole Edwards book and that is the fact, that it will be a HOT read !! Which it was...I actually found myself blushing...

"I want to feel you."  "Let me feel you Seg. Let me slide my cock deep into your ass and feel you". ..."Let me Seg. Let me be the first man to take your virgin ass."

KeteAf8.gif (400×300)

Hot damn..these two burned the sheets. Problem is, that this one night was supposed to be one night of harmless fun, but it turns out that it's anything but...

17913432.gif (400×480)     kiss.gif (500×235)

After their night of fun, they both go their seperate ways, but neither of them are able to forget about their night together and the connection they shared.

Many months later they come face to face once again and Seg isn't ready to let go of what could be between the two of them. But being an "in the closet" hockey player, doesn't make things easy. Roan is dealing with his own problems at home. From one day to the next Roan's life takes a turn and even though he really likes Seg and wants to be with the man...he has to get his priorities straight.

Will these two be able to choose for their own happiness.... I would say, read the book and find out !!

I really enjoyed reading this one and I am so sad, that with this book we've come to an end of this series. I just hope, that there will be many more MM books in the future.

This book was extremely HOT! It's the second book that I read in this series. When I finished the previous book I just couldn't leave these Pier 70 Marina men behind. So I dived right into this one.

The beginning was super hot and I couldn't wait for Roan and Seg to meet again. But then we get SO much drama and each of the main characters try to pull away. Ugh! Somewhere along the way I kind of lost them. I just couldn't understand them. We get a sweet baby boy, more family drama than I would have liked, a closeted hockey player... and I just wanted more to happen between Roan and Seg.

The ending was sweet and hopeful, but I didn't love this book as much as I loved the previous one, Speechless. Still want to read more from this author.

The biphobia (bc of course a gay man wouldn't want to be with a bi guy because he might wake up and freak about your magic dick *side eye*) & vile dig about taking a knee during the national anthem being unpatriotic have firmly landed Nicole Edwards on my "fuck no never" list.

I've been a long time reader and I'm disgusted with myself that I probably missed bullshit like this previously but that stops now... I'll not be supporting her going forward.

I've not ready any of the previous books in this series nor have I read anything by Nicole Edwards in the past, and I mainly picked this up because of the plot and positive Goodreads ratings.

I happen to be a hockey fan and a fan of the Dallas Stars, a real NHL based in Texas, and it was quite obvious that the author used the Stars roster as inspiration for her Austin Arrows team, which made it kinda difficult for me to take serious, because... Really...? To mention just a few players on the Stars: Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, Mattias Janmark, Valeri Nichuskin. Yeah, not subtle at all. (Oh, and Crosby, wow, you didn't even bother with that one.)

The story is pretty cliche, which I don't necessarily mind, but if you're not adding anything new to the trope, it means I want it to be done properly. Instead, I found a lot of factors dragging my rating down. It started off around 3 stars and went down to 1 star as finished this review.

There was so much sex in this. It's not something that's ever bothered me before, but this was like every second scene the two main characters were together, and halfway through I was just getting bored. They fight, then they fuck. They take care of the baby, then fuck after they've tucked him to bed. They meet Seg's mom for dinner, then fuck after doing the dishes. And yes, they have crazy off the charts chemistry, but with that amount of fucking, it just seemed like they based the entire relationships and the emotions they have for each on how they had really great sex together. They've seen each other for what, not even 6 months, and they're ready to marry each other. You're adults, not teenagers, jfc. I was basically skimming the last 50 pages of the book. They even manage to fuck during the epilogue chapter too.

There's a jab at bisexual men at the beginning of the book where Roan says he doesn't do bixesual men, because they might wake up with in crisis, because they can't decide whether they like dick or pussy. I couldn't figure out if Phoenix' character was supposed to right that, as he's a man in a happy polyamorous relationship with both a man and a woman. Either way, it's not addressed again.

Then, there's a scene where Seg's mother, Deb, addresses Kaepernick (and the NFL) taking a knee during the anthem. Seg's mother so far has been the main characters' ally, she fully supports her son and his relationship with Roan. She's a character you're supposed to like. But during a spout about support and professional sports, she expresses her dismay with the protesting, saying that if NFL players " have the right to express their disdain for their own country, then by God, [Seg] have the right t love who [he] want[s]. " Excuse me, Debra, you're not even American, you're Canadian, damn, shut up. Not to mention that the comparison is just completely unnecessary. Seg has nothing to add to his mother's argument. No doubt, this is Nicole Edwards' personal opinion that she just wanted to put out there.

Lastly, I thought we were over using expressions like "their tongues dueling", and "iron rod" as synonym for dick, but I guess not.

Let me tell you guys one thing. I love MM Romance a lot more than straight romances.

This one was another great read of this year.

I have been waiting for Roan's book since ages now. I wanted his book since the very first book. But FINALYY..!! i initially assumed, depending on Roan's story going on in the previous books, that his Story would be full of angst. But surprisingly, this one was a lot more fun and low angst compared to the previous books.

Roan Gregory has been taking care of his addict sister since mostly Book 2, and I have been excited to read more about his since then. I don't want to say anything, and trying to keep everything spoiler-free, so bear with me. Roan has only suffered through rejection in his life. Noone has ever accepted him for who he is, and that has made him really insecure. He is scared to give his everything to anyone, and now more than ever, because of his home situation. We see him struggle and learn to accept love and help from his friends and Colton. It was absolutely beautiful.

Colton Seguine is a closet Hockey player. He never thought that he could love someone more than he loved Hockey, and he never needed to come out. He knew that coming out would ruin his career, and he couldn't do that. But, we see Colton as a very stand up guy. He knows what he wants, and he goes after it with everything he has. And now, he wants and needs Roan. And he is not backing down, as much as Roan puts up a fight.

It was beautiful to see these characters together.

SEX - If you dont know this, let me tell you. If it is Nicole Edwards, the sex is going to be OFF THE CHARTS HOT. IT WOULD BE THE BEST SEX SCENES YOU WOULD EVER READ. And you would read each and every scene with equal interest without skimming. So, This Book was very very HOTTT..!!!

PICK UP THE SERIES. ALL THE BOOKS ARE EQUALLY AWESOME..!!

Okay so I'm going to be in the minority here as I rate this book a 3.5. I just couldn't connect with Roan at all - I get it, he was closed off, vulnerable and in pain but I found him somewhat boring. Seg had a little more spunk for me and I enjoyed his character but we missed some possible hockey time / antics with his teammates- I figured with him coming out there may have been a little more from the Arrows. By no means did I dislike this book, I just didn't love it

This is going to be tough to write. Because this story started out so great. It was flowing along wonderfully just like all the others in this series did when, well, I'm not going to spoil it but something happened. Just one thing that, technically wasn't all that bad but several things happened to put a sour taste in my mouth that stayed there almost till the end. It wasn't WHAT happened that did that. It was two things: how Seg talked to Roan during it - literally ignoring his very existence. And Roan's reaction later. After he forgave (too quickly in my opinion), he was then apologizing to Seg. But he had done nothing wrong other than be himself. That really did not feel right to me. It just felt like the second half of this was a train that had gone off the rails. The author managed to get it back on track at the end, but for this reader it was too little too late.

I hadn't read any of the Pier 70 books before this one but believe me I will be going back and reading ALL OF THEM! This book wasn't only HOT it had two of the most likable characters that I instantly wanted things to work out with as little angst as possible. Alas that is not what happened, sadly both Roan and Seg were dealt pretty crappy hands with certain situations but it all works out in the end so no worries they do get their HEA.

Love conquers all is a phrase that fits this book perfectly.

Roan Gregory should have known when he met Colton Seguien and he described himself as "Harmless", Seg would be anything but harmless to his heart.

Roan is tired of being lonely. All of his friends seem to have found love. Is it to much to ask that he have someone who would look after him for once. Roan has been carrying around a secret and keeping it from his friends is putting a strain on not only himself but those that love him too. Drowning himself in a few beers one night, he does a double take when Colton "Seg" Seguien, a hockey player with the Austin Arrows, approaches him and offers up a night of no strings attached sex. Confused thinking that Seg is straight, he finds he doesn't really care. He just needs the release and someone to find worth in him, if only for a night.

The past 14 months, Seg hasn't stopped thinking of the guy who changed his world. He's always known that he was gay, but has had to stay in the closet due to his job. Gay hockey players aren't at the top of fan's lists. So when he runs into Roan after a game, he needs to do whatever it takes to get the sexy man back into his bed.

The chemistry is through the roof with Seg and Roan. But each of them has secrets that would put a strain on any relationship. Can both men learn to let go and trust in each other and the strong feeling they have for one another? Or will they both end up lost to their secrets with no one to help them navigate the storms?

I really loved Roan and Seg. I think Harmless is my favorite book out of the series. I absolutely adore Nicole and the world she weaves with her characters. Definitely a great read and I would highly recommend this book and this series!

There’s definitely no such thing as a little harmless fun when it comes to a one-night stand between a man whose life is in turmoil due to outside forces and a closeted gay professional hockey player who pretends to be someone he’s not because he can’t risk the league or his teammates finding out his sexual orientation.

And, this idea of the difficulties involved with giving into harmless temptation is further proven when, after 14 months, Roan Gregory and Colton “Seg” Seguine can’t stop thinking about one another and their passionate night all those months ago, which further complicates their lives when fate brings them together again and their need to keep each other at arm’s length becomes an impossibility.

Every story and couple in Nicole Edwards’ Pier 70 series has been phenomenal, but there’s just something extra special about Roan and Seg’s story. I don’t know if it’s because readers have witnessed Roan’s struggles since Cam and Gannon’s book or if his extenuating circumstances and the heartbreak he endures adds to Roan’s complexity and witnessing him give himself over to Seg helps readers to feel like Roan will be okay as long as he gets out of his own head and takes what Seg is offering despite the complications that arise due to Seg’s public image and Seg’s need to come out to the media on his own terms.

What was supposed to be a harmless connection turns into a meaningful bond that neither man wants to give up, and as long as Seg can prove to Roan that Seg’s not ashamed of him and wants to build on what they feel for each other despite Roan’s family baggage and tendency to get lost in his own head, waiting for something good in his life to go bad, these two alphas have what it takes to conquer the obstacles they face as long as they’re willing to communicate and invest in what seems to be developing between them.

I absolutely adored Roan and Seg’s story. Witnessing these two controlled men giving up control to the other one was smoking hot! And, while both of them make decisions and take actions that frustrated me, based on the situations that they individually find themselves having to deal with, makes those harmful choices realistic regardless of how much damage they create.

Nicole Edwards’ Pier 70 series is full of M/M goodness, but it’s so much more than that as well – the bonds of friendship is a recurrent theme explored in each couple’s story and the personal and familial issues that must be dealt with allow readers to connect with the main characters and revel in the fact that this group of best friends have each other’s back at all times despite the tension or issues between them.

Lovers of M/M will want to claim every one of the Pier 70 heroes and those new to the genre or those thinking about trying it for the first time can’t go wrong by picking up this series because the message of Love is Love resonates in on every page in every story, which is ultimately why romance readers choose a book!

ARC received for an honest review

Ms Edwards has left the best till last with this final installment of the Pier 70 series.

Roan has been a bit of an enigma throughout the series, and I have always been curious to his secrets. And now it is time to find out, and wow was his story more than I ever hoped it would be.

The moment he meets Colton "Seg" Seguine, Roan's life changes. Not going to spoil it for you by telling you what happens, but boy oh boy you are going to adore it.

The book is full of steam, sexy moment but mostly full of emotion. Emotion that I wasn't expecting, emotion that gripped my heart and didn't let go.

It is about secrets, it is about trust, it is about finding honest to goodness true love, no matter what obstacles are put in your way.

Sigh, I just don't think I can do this book justice - I thought Speechless was going to be my favourite in this series, but Roan and Seg have surpassed them in Harmless.

Anther great thing about this is book is that it is a crossover between the Pier 70 series and the Austin Arrows series - so yay, we will be hopefully be getting to see a little more of the marina men in the future (please Ms Edwards!)

It has been a couple of days since I have finished reading Harmless, and I am still thinking about it. I want, no I need more.

I can't wait to see what Ms Edwards brings us next.

After the emotional smack that was delivered in Speechless, I couldn’t wait for Harmless to come out so I could get Roan’s story.Throughout the series, Roan’s character had been up and down, and I got the feeling that he had a pretty intriguing story waiting. I was not disappointed…not at all. Not only did Nicole Edwards deliver another powerfully emotional story, she did it while throwing some kids in the mix-something I normally don’t particularly care for in most books I read, but here it worked perfectly and it wouldn’t have been as powerful a story without it.

Roan has this need to take care of things on his own. He doesn’t want anyone else getting bogged down with his problems, even if everyone else genuinely wants to help. This is not something he can really sustain in the long run-especially when life decides to throw its curveballs. In a single moment he life and focus changes, and he has to adapt-but he does so while putting his own personal needs aside. Seg is closeted thanks to his career as a professional hockey player. He plays his part, but that becomes harder and harder once he meets Roan…who is not someone who hides who he is.

The strength of their emotions though is overpowering, and each is willing to give in for the other-to a point. There is no question to the chemistry between them—it is compelling and so far off the hot chart that the devil himself would need a cool down. Their attraction is constant and potent, and the two of them together truly define the term “soulmates”. But you know their path won’t be smooth, and in addition to the whole Seg-is-in-the-closet issue (which you KNOW will blow up at some point), there is turmoil on the family front for Roan. These things both contribute to the drama of the story, and had me virtually glued to the pages.

The incredibly amazing supporting cast of the entire Pier 70 family of characters are all here, all as supportive as ever. We also get interactions with Roan’s father and stepmother…and to that let me just tell you—there’s a scene near the end with a dialog between Seg and Roan’s stepmother that Seg absolutely ROCKS. That scene was probably my favorite dramatic part of the book, and you’ll understand why when you read it.

It’s distressing to me that this is the final book of the series. I’ve become so entangled in the Pier 70 world, and have come to really care for all of the characters. There is no way for me to choose a favorite book or couple (believe me, I’ve tried), they are all special to me for different reasons. It’s a no-brainer for me to give Harmless 5 stars, and the entire Pier 70 series is sitting on my Top Recommendations list now. I cannot recommend this book and series highly enough, and every M/M romance fan will want this book and whole series in their personal library. This story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and explicit M/M sexual content (um, yeah…probably not a wise idea to read while at work…just sayin’).

I absolutely love this series and Speechless was my favorite.........until Harmless. I think this is the best book Nicole has written in a while now. I finished reading this story in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down!! Harmless is the final book in her Pier 70 series and is the story of Roan Gregory and Colton "Seg" Seguine. Their story will have you experiencing so may different emotions. I cried, I laughed, I yelled, certain parts made me so angry, and oh the surprise that happens!!!! Yes that little surprise will have you saying "WOW!! I didn't see that coming." I can say that Harmless is my second all time favorite story from Ms. Edwards. This is a must read in 2017!!!

What can I say? ... Nicole Edwards stole my heart once again.
ROAN and COLTON
I found my self so wrapped up in this story that I had a two day hangover.
This M/M story will quickly find it's way to the top of your favorites list and stay there.
The secrets, the struggles, and the desire will break your heart into a million tiny pieces, then, Nicole will put everything back together, shine it, and serve it to you on a platter of gold.

This was everything!! From start to finish I was hooked and I couldn't stop...I mean. Thing was gonna stop me from finishing this freaking book.
Roan was this sweet and vulnerable man who you couldn't help but root for and the best part was Seg was just as sweet but screamed alpha...maybe it was picturing this sexy man on the ice...sigh... okay back to this. I loved how real it felt. You could totally understand Segs reasons and fears and even if you didn't agree with him you got it. And oh man Roan may have stole my heart for fave Nicole MC. And throw in sweet Liam in the mix and I was freaking mush! In the top 3 books from Nicole for sure. Seriously everyone needs to read this one

The final book in The Pier 70 series and for me Nicole Edwards left the best til last, yes I was sad to see this series come to end but what a brilliant book to end it on. Now it's time to put my feelings down on paper and it's one of the hardest reviews I have written and I hope I can do this book justice. I'm not going to write a review thats full of spoilers, I'm going to tell you to read this book !!!
Roan Gregory and Colton (Seg) Seguine's story is an emotional roller coaster, it's about secrets, trust and most of all true love. How does a top sportsman tell his teammates and the world that he has found the love of his life but that love is another man, is the world of hockey ready for a gay player or will the press not only ruin his career but also ruin his chance of being with his soulmate, will Seg be able to come out or will he try and keep Roan his dirty secret. Will Roan allow his friends that love him unconditionally help him when tragedy strikes and he finds himself raising a baby, a baby that his family think should not be raised by a gay man......
This book made me cry, it made me angry but most of all it made me understand just what a traumatic experience it can be for a gay man admitting to the world that he has found love. Nicole Edwards covers all of these issues with compassion and this book is a beautifully written love story because let's be honest "LOVE IS LOVE" and we all deserve a chance at happiness with the person we choose to love.
I thought Speechless was my favourite in this series that changed when I read Harmless. Thank you Nicole Edwards for giving us one of the best books I have read please go and one click this book you won't be disappointed. This book consumed me and there was no way I could put it down til I had read the very last word, If only I could give this book more stars...

To say I feel like I have been waiting for this book for the longest would be an understatement but as always with all things Nicole Edwards I have to say the wait was totally worth it. This is the last installment in the Pier 70 series and while all the couples in this series will tug at your heartstrings there is one character that will totally own you and for me that character was Roan.

Roan is a do gooder that has been trying to get his sister off the drugs that she’s addicted to all the while keeping a ton of secrets from his friends. Seg is a world famous hockey player (Arrows Hockey Team) who has been keeping the biggest secret of his life, a secret that he feels if it’s revealed would cost him his entire hockey career.

Both Roan and Seg decide that for ONE night they would enjoy each other and forget about all of their personal worries but they both realize that that is one night that they both can’t forget. When they finally decide to stop fighting the inevitable, the result is one HOT STEAMY, LOVE Affair that leaves the reader wanting more.

The story of Roan that enfolds is a deep and emotionally story that will give you all the feels and once he’s able to overcome these obstacles and really start to enjoy live you will see his true beauty. Once Seg is able to see that by revealing who he truly is will not be a detriment to his career but instead would allow him to find his ONE true love he is left with no other alternative than to take a leap of faith.

As with all HEAs there is drama to overcome, so while Roan and Seg had to fight through their own dramas, they were able to lean on each and draw strength from each other and in the end mad their relationship the best it could ever be.

If you are looking for a book that is emotionally charged but yet still contains light moments that will allow you to breathe this is the book and series for you. I totally recommend that you read this book. Nicole great job as always, you never disappoint.

5 Star review of Harmless (Pier 70 #4) by Nicole Edwards

This is the fourth and final book in the Pier 70 M/M series and I loved it. It's always sad when a series comes to an end but what a way to end it. Every one of these books I have felt was the best yet, but Harmless is now officially my favourite of the series. This is Roan Gregory and Colton Seguine's (Seg) story.

What happens when a top line hockey player, who is in the closet, decides to risk it all for the love of a man? Will he be shunned by his family, his team mates, his fans, perhaps fired from his job? That is the fears facing Seg as he struggles to decide what he wants. Will he risk it all for Roan whom he believes to be his soul mate?

This book evoked so many emotions in me; I laughed, I cried, I shouted with frustration, I was angry, I was sad and happy. What Roan and Seg go through is so raw at times and it made me realise just how hard life can be for a person who is gay, let alone someone in the public eye.

“His mother smiled. “Whose the lucky man who brought my boy out of the darkness and into the light?” That right there brought tears to my eyes, her acceptance was wonderful; but not all conversations go like that. Acceptance is never a given and the fear Seg felt was at times overwhelming.

Secrets can destroy so many lives and when Roan dug deep and explored his feelings and came to the conclusion that:
“Living without this man wasn't an option. When he wasn't with him, he wanted to be. And when he was with him, Roan never wanted to be anywhere else” That said it all to me. Love is worth fighting for, no matter what!.

Roan and Seg's willingness to fight for their happily ever after, overcoming some unexpected challenges, along with a few surprises I didn't see coming, was a wonderful way to end this series.

In my humble opinion Ms. Edwards' writing in this particular genre is one of the best around. Her stories are full of love, romance, sizzling scenes that make you hot; the characters are well rounded and developed and her writing is exceptional. Harmless is a beautifully written love story and one I highly recommend.

Love is Love!!

This was book 4 in the "Pier 70" Roan Gregory, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has managed to paint himself as a loner in recent months. There is a reason for that he is hiding the fact and his drug addicted sister Cassie just had a baby after using while being pregnant. Cassie was mean and ungrateful she didn't want his help when he moved in with her after everyone in his family gave up on her she said some mean things to him. While at a bar he meets Colton "Seg" Seguine, defenseman for the Austin Arrows NHL team. These two hit it off and they hook up and have a hot sweaty one-night stand. Fourteen months later guys attend a game and get to meet the players and Seg is surprised to find his hot one-night stand as one of the guys that the team owner Phoenix introduces him too. When Roan gets home, he finds his sister dead of an overdose he is shocked and saddened and blaming himself for not being there with her and his nephew Liam who is a month old. I liked both of these characters each one was afraid to let the other in. Seg had his career to worry about and Roan was so used to not letting others in to help him including his best friend Cam. I loved that Seg wasn't willing to give Roan up and when he meets Liam he falls in love with the baby. I loved Seg mother when he came out to her, she just wanted him to be happy. I hated Roan's stepmother she was a real piece of work. When a reporter gets wind of his boyfriend Seg freaks out and does something stupid, but it forces him to come out. Seg knows what he wants and its Roan he wants a family. I loved when Seg put Lydia in her place, and I loved it. I also loved that the guys were there to help them. This book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading about Milly and AJ.

I was waiting patiently for Roan and Seg's story and was not disappointed. Their story was better than I expected.
I knew there was more beyond their one night stand.
Roan wasn't the easiest character to like. He's been dealing with life on his own for so long that he found it hard even to trust his closest friends. He was moody and grumpy through the other stories but once we get o know him he's a sweetie. He's caring, nurturing and he loves hard.
Seg is still coming to grips with his sexuality when he meets Roan. The pair have an explosive connection. Neither could forget each other after their first encounter.
There were times that Roan held himself and feelings back but Seg wouldn't let him. He was demanding but caring.

The pair had some issues and my heart broke along with Roan's. I'm glad he had such wonderful friends to help him in his time of need.

The story also brought back the other characters for a wonderful and heartfelt goodbye to this series.

I received a copy for a honest .

Roan and Colton share one hot night together that neither of them can forget. A year later they accidentally meet again and it seems that their chemistry is as hot as ever, only this time Roan has to deal with personal issues that require his full attention and no time for sexy times with famous hockey players, especially those who're in the closet. However Colton is not willing to back off easily this time, and goes after Roan determined to get him in his bed for more than a night or two.

Very enjoyable, very sexy and also very emotional. Yes, the heroes' problems were solved very neatly and IMHO quite easily compared to real life, but they didn't just disappear either. I found that there was a good balance between the drama that didn't get overboard, but also added interest and depth to the story, and the insta-lust/love thing that made their HEA feel inevitable. This is my second book from this author and I certainly want to read more of hers.
