Although I enjoyed C. J. Corbin's book, Protecting Destiny, I give it 4 stars due to the amount of "bedroom scenes". I felt that these scenes took away from the overall story line. This book is about people who abuse dogs and those who rescue them. It is also about finding love, blackmail, and family loyalty. I liked veterinarian Dr. Kian McDermott. He embodies kindness and love for animals! The world needs more people like him! This book has entertaining twists, turns, and surprises.

This is the first book by this author I have read and it was amazing. The story flows, has wonderful characters and takes you on the ups, downs, troubles and dangers associated with rescuing abused animals and trying to protect them.

This book was so much enlightening to read. It had its up and down moments and some sitting on the edge of your seat moments also. Don't forget your box of tissues if you're like me. The dogs in this read are wonderful.

Wow! To all the people who rescue animals and people my undying gratitude. This shows how this can be difficult but it can be done.

I received Protecting Destiny as a free book from the author. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. This was a keeper, and since part of the proceeds are donated to conservation efforts, so I purchased a copy, also.

Easily my favorite book in the Destiny series (note: can be read as a standalone. Characters crossover from other books, but each book has complete plot threads). I loved the overall story line, as well as the sub-plots. This romance has everything: intrigue, dog rescues, sexy guy with sexier Irish accent, wonderful secondary characters (I want my own Robert and Gary besties), savvy business sense, more dog rescues, smoldering sheets (yeah, some of the sex is smokin' hot), and a Happily Ever After ending.

I've always enjoyed Corbin's novels, and this one doesn't disappoint. Kian and Christine are a perfect couple, with great chemistry. And Christine's strength and determination kept me glued to the pages.
