OMG OMG OMG!! I just found this “fandom” writing and this lady has wrote such an AMAZING approach to the “other” thoughts. If you love vampire academy then these books are an absolute must!! It makes an already great story even better! And with Dimirti point of view you see a more adult thoughts to go with the more teenagers parts of Rose. I have never been so happy about such a good read. The app to read it on is a little different but once you get it it’s really easy, and it has an auto book option but the voice is robotic. There are 6 books chapter by chapter to match Vampire Academy’s 6 books. The app is FanFiction.Net and the lady is Gigi256. I can’t say enough good stuff!
I had so many doubts before reading this, but I am so surprised by how much I loved this. It was pretty much perfect for a Dimitri POV and I will def be continuing this series :) Trust me, if you love the VA series, you're pretty much guaranteed to love this.
I'm reading it on the app called FanFiction.Net and the author is Gigi256 !!
Gigi's writing style impresses me. I love how she weaves a new outlook on the Vampire Academy books. It was fulfilling to have Dimitri filled in as a character. I can't read the books now without seeing some of his point of view.
Remember though, Dimitri is an adult and has adult thoughts and feelings. These fanfiction stories aren't PG, not even PG 13.
Gigi is currently editing the Dimitri's Point of View stories to include details from the 10th Anniversary Edition stories.
I recommend you go and read Gigi's stories. They are excellent.
3,9⭐️ I loved reading in his pov!!!! It was a bit slow for me but that because the first book isn’t really my favourite🫣 I love Dimitri even more now!!
This was fantastic and such a fun break from my current reads. I LOVE the vampire academy series so much and this fanfic really captured Rose and Dimitri so well and brought new life to their characters and their relationship. Seriously such a fun and entertaining read. Highly recommend.
A few spoilers would have been made if I hadn't read the second book 'Frostbite' beforehand (especially in the author's notes). E.g Alchemists, the fact that Rosa truly understands him, and maybe a cabin scene that's hinted a few times in the author's notes.
It really was enrichening to get into Demitri's mind as I didn't understand in depth the emotional complexity of his character: His past experience as Ivan's guardian (guarding a close friend just like Rose intends to do with Vasilisa) Coping with Ivan's death as he was his charge; Dealing with grief and death caused by himself when protecting and fighting for his charge and loved ones And of course his deep feelings for Roza (which I hadn't realized were *so* mutual this early ahead).
I hope that reading this book's Dimitri's POV and reading the next Dimitri's POV won't cause me spoilers for the next books in order. I'll try to steer clear my wandering eyes from the author's notes though.
THAT'S IT?! THAT'S THE ENDING!?
This was actually surprisingly good. I mean, you can still tell it's fan fiction. Sometimes the descriptions of Dimitri's feelings, even if they were swoon worthy, were laid on a bit too thick. It read more like fangirling about a person instead of describing him, but overall it was good. The filler scenes for Dimitri in between what we know from Rose from the original books were well-chosen and -executed.
She did such an amazing job portraying Dimitri Belikov. Her writing makes me love him more than I already had. I'm excited to read each book of the series by Richelle Mead followed by these wonderful stories from Dimitri's point of view as well.
I initially felt a little silly at first considering counting fanfiction as a book on goodreads, but, f*ck it, reading is reading I want credit.
That, and this fanfiction is remarkably good. It's not very often I get to reread a book for the "first" time, but shifting perspectives changes the story enough that it feels brand new. While I may know 90% of the choices the main character is going to make, I do not know all in a "new" story, and more importantly, I don't know the reasoning behind the choices. The intent.
There are some "Edward" moments in the story, mainly when he is eavesdropping on a scene/ conversation he was not explicitly part of in Rose's view, but it hasn't been too offputting. I had no clue this fanfic existed, let alone she had done the whole series. Otherwise, I would've been all over this in my teen years. I am grateful for goodread's algorithm that recommended it while I was rereading the original series. There is good reason why the fanfiction series was highly pushed at review time.
This was a fun read, I enjoyed it, and I plan on reading the rest of the series in Dimitri's perspective.
That's quite interesting.... Being so immersed with the world of Vampire Academy, I realized that I want more of Dimitri! This time I realized that I can read some stories from his point of view... even though it is not the same author, but come on, for me to read all these chapters from Dimitri's point of view is just a feast 🤪 I enjoyed it... I like to go through my favorite moments and read it from his side... to see how his feelings grow. 💓😍 That's a great story, that made me love him even more!
I was actually really impressed with this fanfic. I love the og books but I so desperately wanted to know what Dimitri was feeling and thinking the whole time.
I think this has helped give a new depth on rose and Dimitri’s relationship.
I was able to read it all in one day with minimal breaks. The original books pulled me out of a reading slump and I think these will do the same for me again.
Super stoked to read the rest! (Especially for the cabin scene😉)
I loved the whole vampire academy series as a teen and reread it nearly once a year or every two years. Still loving the books, and to read them from a different perspective was a nice twist. Of course it’s completely subjective and who knows how it would’ve been if richelle mead wrote them, but I liked these.
honestly… it blew my mind! i thought i was reading richelle mead; reading what dimitri was thinking and feeling was very insightful and it deepens the whole story experience, his background, his story, his motives, his feelings and his reasons. Definitely would recommend read after finishing the RM series.
For a fan fiction this is written very well! Reads as I imagine Dimitri would aka adult and broody. Minimal spelling and or grammatical errors! 4 stars only because the original Vampire Academy earned that as well!
