new scenes: ~ Dimitri advocating to take Rose, Lisa and Christian to the court even before Rose finding out. ~ Dimitri is the one suggesting she'll be paired up with Christian in the trials, because his somewhat similar history with Ivan. ~ And many more of course!
new scenes involving Rose: ~ Rose cries in Dimitri's arms after she fights him and takes her aggression at him at the very beginning. ~ In an attempt to cheer her up he takes her outside the Academia and they make snow angels next to a gas station(right after the crying).
I read this book up until the 26th chapter, when Dimitri was taken hostage. I liked it very much, and especially the rivaly between Adrian and Dimitri. The cabin scene was spectecular. There were a couple of new scenes involving Rose which was kinda odd but I liked the narrative Gigi256 created. I also liked the extra attention Gigi gave to Yuri, and their discussuins about Rose and love in-between gaurdians.
The story summed up: Rose sees ghostes, the journey to Victor's trial, the novices' trials, Rose has anger issues, Lisa is being tortured by a group of Moroi and then Rose sleeps with Dimitri, right afterwards the Strigoi break in the academia and then there's the rescue mission in which Yuri dies and Dimitri is turned. Rose drops out, basically gives up her role as Lisa's guardian and sets to hunt down Dimitri.
Gigi256 writes exceptionally well and ties up loose ends with her fanfiction stories. It's like she is inside Dimitri's head and she pulls minute details out of the books then ties everything up with a big bow.
Her stories are excellent.
When she's done with Last Sacrifice later this Spring I plan on going back to read the Vampire Academy stories from the very first one, chronologically, through the end of Last Sacrifice and having the book and Gigi256's Dimitri's Point of View alongside it.
6/2/24 Finally. I did it. After WEEKS of putting off the final chapters, I finished this.
My main critique, yet again, would be the handling of Adrian’s character. Sure, he has a crush on Rose, etc. etc., but he’s not mean and petty in the ways this author portrays him as. Also, I get that Romitri are pretty stuck on each other, but I don’t think Dimitri would be against Rose going into battle?? Maybe it’s just because I have the “Ah, those two. In a fight, they’re lethal. Around each other, they melt.” quote from Bloodlines living rent free in my mind, but these two are THE ultimate battle couple.
I really enjoyed the characterization of some of the other guardians! And seeing some behind the scenes. Yes, I know, this is fanfiction. But the author knows the world of Vampire Academy and St. Vladimir’s well.
I am equal parts excited and apprehensive to make my way through the Blood Promise fic, haha.
One last note - Eddie Castile deserves the WORLD!!!
This book was really hard.. this book you see something so amazing that it doesn’t seam possible, this book you see a strong man reduced to his base self, you see love but in the wrong places. This book really tell about all Rose went through in Bisa and all that she held back from her friends and family I think not only out of shame a bit but also to protect Dimitri still even though it all seams so lost.. this book was really the hardest for me in both Rose’s and Dimitri point of view.. I am looking forward to the last one but I am sad too because it means the story will end.. I so badly want a good ending.. but some of the best story’s sometimes don’t.. I hope it is happy or I am going to ugly cry I am on the last book from both points of view so I am going to try to read them in tandem chapter by chapter.

As a fanfiction was very good, the writing style really felt like reachel mead work. The added scenes and little details wer cute but in some point it had that dober-damer feeling. The main flaws are the same one as the original work one so is not really the author fault here. I had a very nice time ngl
