Loved this book. However, it was NOT an easy read for me. I've always adored Dimitri and seeing such a dark side of him was heartbreaking. I have to say, this fan-fiction is well written and worth reading. Can't wait to read the next book as well.

I won't lie, this story was very hard for me to read. Since it's Dimitri's point of view and he's a Stragoi now you know it has violence in it that is heinous. Gigi256 is able to take us in his mind and it's a hard place to be.

BUT this book also helped me understand so many things that I'd missed in the original book. Rose leaves St. Vladimir's as soon as she turns 18 and goes to Russia to kill Dimitri. Dimitri left America to get away from her. She finds him and this story is what he does to her and why he decides to come back to America to kill her.

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead and Blood Promise: Dimitri's Point of View by Gigi256 are the most pivotal stories in the whole book series. They foreshadow everything that is coming in the rest of the Vampire Academy books and maybe even some of the Bloodlines books.

Just like in the previous books, it was really fun to see his perspective and how he thinks. The chapter where Dimitri asks, "What are you doing here?" and she simply answers, "You brought me here," made me laugh. And then the chapter where he follows her into the woods and they arrive at that bridge by the water was really fun to read from his perspective.

I have no words.. this was so intense, I never thought I cloud dislike Dimitri ( no even when he stubbornly denied his feelings for rose in book 5 & 6) but I had to literally move my gaze away from some lines in this book… of course it was because he’s Strigoi, but Danm Gigi you really sold his monster side with perfect similarities to his fathers abuse and his repress feelings towards guardian life. This is just perfectly written!!

Oh my gosh the things these two go through and seeing it from his view!! And you want to try to love the new him but u don’t know if you can or if you should!! This is such an interesting view point in to the undead life and how far the heart will go to save the one they love.

This is canon. But it hurt me every step of the way. It hurt me for Rose, but mostly it hurt me for Dimitri’s soul. I adore Dimitri, morally grey men in other books were my obsession but Dimitri ain’t that he is good, he loves and protects. Reading this… I cried through every single act he committed against himself

Band 4 beendet, der bisher grafisch brutalste Band der Reihe. Hier sollte man sich wirklich zuvor die Triggerwarnungen durchlesen. Bis auf die bereits vorhandenen Szenen aus dem Original, sind hier noch zusätzliche Szenen geschrieben, die die schlimmsten Seiten von Strigoi Dimitri zeigen.
