Waking up married to him is actually the least of my problems...
As the older sister, I've always been the responsible one. My only serious relationship ended when I caught him in bed with another man. It's just as well. My life is consistent, with no room for surprises.
Waking up in Vegas next to a man I can barely stand most of the time was never in my plans. For that matter, neither was the diamond ring on a very important finger.
Nate appeared to be the quintessential bachelor, completely unwilling to be tied down by anyone. Unfortunately, the ex-wife who turns up once we get home proves otherwise.
Now, she sees me as a competitor to be eliminated in her quest to reclaim his heart and she's willing to go to any lengths to get her man.
Operation Annulment is the second book in the Operation Series and can be read as a STANDALONE. However, it is better if read following Operation Fit-ish.
Shannon is a born and raised Texan. She grew up inventing clever stories, usually to get herself out of trouble. Her mother was not amused. In junior high, she began writing fractured fairy tales from the villain's point of view and that was the moment she knew that she was going to use her powers for evil instead of good.
In 2003, she moved to Denver and met the love of her life. After some relentless stalking and a few well-timed sarcastic remarks, the man eventually gave in to her charms and wifed her so hard. They welcomed a son in 2007 that they named after their favorite Marvel superhero, Spiderman.
Sick of seeing beautiful mountains through their window every day, the three escaped back to the desolate landscape of the west Texas desert in 2009. She welcomed her second son not long after and soon realized that being surrounded by three men was nothing at all like she'd imagined in her fantasies.
After an unplanned surgery in 2014 and a long pity party, she decided to pen a novel about the worst thing that could happen to a person in order to cheer herself up. She's twisted like that. Thus, From This Day Forward was born and the rest, as they say, is history.
Not only does Shannon enjoy stalking people, she also has a fondness for being stalked. Visit her at www.shannonshaemyers.com to keep up with her latest schemes and shenanigans.
I am honestly surprised by just how much I like this story. When I started it and it had 3 POV and flitted from one year to another I thought uh oh hot mess. But I was wrong. I really enjoyed this book. The only thing stripping it of the last star… GROVEL or the lack of. Nate honestly was such an SOB to Kate and there needed to be so much more grovel.
First-SQUEEEEE!!! This was soooo good! (Imagine obnoxious happy dance)
Second-gah!! Did I mention how good it was?!? (Still dancing)
Did you read Operation Fit-ish? Of course you did.
Did you just fall in love with all the characters and wish there was more? Again of course you did-I know I did!
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to them, and thank goodness neither was Shannon! (She did leave us with quite a tease leading to this book)
This story focuses on Kate, Dakota's big sister, the one you think has her life together between the two.
Well she does to a point. Being the older sister, having a mother up and leave them, grandparents that don't want them as burdens, Kate takes it upon herself to take care of Dakota as best as she can. Putting her first.
Which means our beloved Kate has given up a lot for her quirky, lovable sister throughout the years.
We left Fit-ish with Dakota on her way to a very HEA, now it's Kate's turn.
We know she was attracted to a hot tattooed man in fit-ish. Then Shannon went and left us with that mind blowing teaser at the end-hungover, wedding rings, and Nate in a Las Vegas hotel room with a certificate that proves what they don't remember. They got married!
Can someone cue Katy Perry song for me?
...you gotta help me out, it's all a blur last night...spare me your dirty looks...that's what you get for waking up in Vegas...
So what happens now?
The gaps before, during, and after are all filled in.
This isn't your normal boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy story. They have to work for their love. Not one of them, both!
Kate and Nate have a spark between them that sizzles! Every look, every touch, every hot steamy...(oops was about to go off on the sexy stuff-I'll just go fan myself to cool down)
Throw in a crazy ex that you want to reach into your kindle to strangle, our comic loving Dakota who doesn't want to see her big sister hurt, and her tough lovable bodyguard/friend Little Ricky and you have a story you can't put down from beginning to end!
Needless to say you hit every emotion. No, No I mean that! Every one!
I laughed out loud. I swooned and awwwwed. I got angry. And yes I got sad. I had good tears and bad. In the end I fell in love with these characters even more!
I only hope we aren't done with these sisters and their men! Shannon promises more of what we all want more of! So I'm here to stay and already waiting for what she brings us next!
I have sat on this review all day because I didn’t know just what I wanted to say. It was great to see how Jess ticked, what length she would go too and how bent her mind was. I literally lol at the soap opera references. I liked Kate and understand why she didn’t see things clearly. As medical professionals we are certainly the worst patients (trust me on this). Nate was the big issue for me. I loved and adored him at certain moments and then I absolutely despised him in others. I yelled out loud, how can you be so dang gullible where Jess is concerned, you are a freaking surgeon!! At the end of the day, it was perfect. After all, real life is imperfect. We say cruel and hurtful things to lash out at those we love and that’s what I held onto with Nate. It’s a must read. If you haven’t read this authors books before, start at the beginning and go for it. You won’t be sorry you did.

LOOOOVED IT! It tugged my heartstrings. When I read Fit-Ish I had our hero pegged way differently. He seemed a bit like a crazy person but the crazy person—definitely the ex-Wife, Jess. Wow.
Shannon Myers is now on my must-read list. She’s got it going on with witty banter, well developed plot lines, and unforgettable characters. I absolutely loved this story.
Again, the author did things I was completely not expecting and took this story places I could not have predicted. I appreciate that as a writer, and more so as a reader.
I adore Kate and Nate, though there are a number of times I want to shake or slap or hit them -sometimes separately, sometimes together - with a car. Jess is the special kind of twisted only the best psycho exes are. Nate and Kate are the perfect match if they can just get their shit together and actually talk about some things. My only complaint is that I wanted more discussion and reveal about their pasts when they finally get around to talking about it. There's A LOT there, especially for Nate, and he deserves at least one solid kick in the nuts for how he ran off at the mouth.
I love this world, and this whole cast of characters. I was sad that this was just a duet, but that epilogue gave me big hopes and dreams that there's more to come!
Pick up Operation Fit-Ish and then continue with this one! You won't be sorry!
I read this one immediately after Operation fit-ish. this was book 2 of the duet. Really the stories of both couples are running parallel in book 1. So it was kind of a let down when the first 40% of this book was basically a rewrite of the stories in book 1, with a few additional scenes. It didn't even add much. I am a little surprised at the gushing reviews overall. They aren't reviewed by that many people but the MC series gets such praise.....???? This whole thing was just OK. Again, maybe not the style for me. Kinda zany, goofy, comedy but cops and bad guys and superheroes?!?!
The Silent Phoenix Motorcycle club series is what really drew me to try this author. I guess it's possible I could have just read that series first and then ended with these 2 books as they advertise now - because these 2 books aren't blowing me away. Somehow I am still thinking I will at least go and read book 1 The Deserter and hope that one is more for me?!?! hmm
5 stars for Nate and Kate, but WTH with that Epilogue. This author has me gripped by my heart with her writing. I would love to see into her brain. How does she come up with this stuff.
Yesssss, read this book. Read the duet , unbelievably great books! I read these out of order not knowing but it still all fell in to place. Once again Shannon Myers rocks it.
This book was a great sequel to the first. It had me mad, happy, sad and frustrated. The characters are great and so is the plot. The end was just 🤯. I have to read the next one!
What an amazing book! This author gets it right every time! I get so immersed in her stories, I absolutely love it! I can't wait to read Renegade! Also so,excited that I get to look forward to the Quinn sisters coming back next year! Yahoo!
This book was a back and forth, up and down kind of book! The pain and struggles that Nate and Kate deal with and face makes this book a page turner! You have to know what happens next or what will be around the corner. This book made me laugh and cry!
Operation Annulment by Shannon Myers a great five-star read. This is the second book in the operation series, and follows on from Operation Fit-ish. We met both of the main characters in the previous book, but we see them grow and develop in this book, Mary Katherine Quinn known to most as Kate, and Katydid, Katygirl and Hail Mary to some to name but a few, has her faith in life shaken when she walks in on her boyfriend earlier than planned on their anniversary, she is exited as she thinks he’s going to propose, only that’s not the shock she gets. Kate finds him in bed with his business partner, his male business partner. Kate is so scared to admit to her grandma that they broke up she makes him show up to family events as her plus one so they don’t find out. She doesn’t have the time to find a man, as she is too busy taking care of her sister. Nathaniel Davis is known by Nate to everyone, seems to have it all, great career, he has a family that anyone would be jealous of, a loving and caring one that help each other out whenever they can. But he had his heart broken and knows he will never love again, it was broken and shattered to pieces, never to be put back together. Until he wakes up in Vegas with a wedding band on his finger, he feels like he is being sent to jail, no woman will ever be able to tie him down again, would they? Kate wakes up in Vegas with a big rock on a significant finger, to a heavily tattooed man that she met at the gym. What has she done? This is not how her life is supposed to be working out!! Shannon Myers is a great writer, she writes funny, funny situations that will make you laugh so loud. It’s also quite deep and emotional and people face real problems, but she deals with them in a really good way, so that you are kept sucked in. I can’t wait to read more by this author and find out more about the Quinn sisters.
Shannon Myers, if I ever get to meet you, I am going to hug you tightly and thank you for writing awesome characters and series!
Operation Annulment had me sucked in from beginning to end. I had to stop at times because my heart could only take so much. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I was sad, angry and at times, felt like I wanted to throw my kindle! Gah! The angst was so good and I felt my heart pounding at times.
I highly suggest you read Operation Fit-ish before reading this book. One thing that did throw me off was that there are three POVs; they are necessary to better understand this story, but it is not a love triangle at all. I loved all characters, but one. If you read this book, then you'll know right from the start who I'm referring too. I won't go into the plot, just read it!
This author is a hidden gem and I am so happy to have the opportunity to read her books! This is only my second one, but I'll be going on an author binge soon because this series has me hooked! I seriously can't wait for more!
Well, I couldn't think of a good title for my review , so hence .... Ok , first , the beginning of this book was confusing . I couldn't figure out who the author was talking about . I had to keep going back and forth between the chapters to figure out who she was talking about . Once I had it figured out then the book got better . There was a couple chapters where I laughed so hard I'm surprised that I didn't wake up my family. The humor eases up after awhile but doesn't completely stop , but drama sets in , hard . There is sex in the book , not alot but enough to keep it interesting . It ends on a cliffhanger but the cliffhanger doesn't involve the main characters , so it's something I can live with ( or ignore ). It is a good book though. I think you will enjoy it .
First off, I LOVE THESE TWO! I had been (impatiently) waiting for their story since Operation Fit-ish.
Kate has always been there for her sister, Dakota. Now that Dakota is off to her happily-ever-after, Kate has to see this happiness close up. She deserves some for herself, but doesn’t quite trust it to happen...
Writing-wise, this read like a movie that was really badly cut. You know those scenes where the camera keeps cutting away to different angles of the scene and it’s very disorientating? That was this book.
There’s Insta-love and then for some reason we skip the drama between the MC’s where apparently the ex is constantly getting between them. At least, I think that’s what happens. Anyways, they hook up and then we kind of skip ahead to some time later where they’ve broken up and she’s all heartbroken. It was very confusing.
My biggest issue though, were the characters. So. Unlikeable.
The heroine is a typical CR dumbass with a martyr complex, but she’s also not a very nice person. Some of the judgments she makes about other characters sometimes, just made me not want to be on her side for anything. Also she’s 26, but we never really hear much about why she’s still a virgin. She acts like her life revolves around her baby sister who is, by now, 22. That whole relationship makes no sense to me - is the sister disabled and unable to work? What is going on there?
On top of that, the sister is ALSO a judgy asshole. And I’m partial to an asshole here and there but there wasn’t a single person in this book that I was impressed by. There were all these random secondary characters constantly floating around, not to mention the newly back from the dead Dad.
There are far better books out there that have similar plot lines, this just took too much time being confusing and throwing in as many comic book references as humanly possible.
This book was even more disappointing than the last one. Once again, the author set us up for an epic grovel. Unfortunately, it just didn’t happen.
After Jess repeatedly lied and cheated on Nate, he still chose to believe her over Kate. Even when he found out that Jess had been arrested, he told the cops that they had the wrong girl.
Nate’s excuse for believing that Kate was guilty was ridiculous. He said that he was “so damn convinced that Kate would hurt me like Jess did”. Well, that might have made sense if he hadn’t decided to believe Jess over Kate.
When Nate believed Kate was guilty of Jess’ attack, he lashed out and said unforgivable things to her. He used some of the things that Kate had confided in him from her past, painful things that he knew would hurt her the most.
After that, his idea to gain her forgiveness was a “grand gesture” so he got falling down drunk and embarrassed her at a work function. Then, she allowed him to finger f#%k her in the car while she was driving him home. When Dakota, her sister, insisted that Nate still loved her, that was all she needed to hear and she decided to forgive him. DNF

I loved this story. I did get a little confused at times with who the characters were, but that may just be because I read it sporadically. I loved all of the pop culture references throughout the book, especially all the Marvel references. If you are not a Marvel fan, then this book is definitely not for you! I love Marvel and loved Dakota! She is hilarious I look forward to reading the next book and more from Shannon Myers.
Man this was a drama filled book & I loved it!! Never knew what was gonna happen. I liked them as a couple. Nate had a lot going on in his past but so did Kate. I liked we got to meet the Girls dad finally. I loved we got to see the wedding of Cap & Big Guy! Can't wait to see what happens next with the Dad!! Bring on the next book!! I recommend all these books.
This book was so confusing at the beginning, took a while to figure out who everyone was and the book is written from so many points of view. Once I got used to the writing style it was a pretty good story although a lot was going on. I enjoyed it after half wayish, but don't think I'll read any more of the series.
I enjoyed the backstory with Nate and Kate. It took me a bit to not be confused with the Jess chapters. I had forgotten about her as a character.
I still loved the comic book analogies in this book just like Dakota and Zane's book. This book had a lot of information and was harder to keep track of things. Still enjoyable though.
She the older sister who council other but have her own problems to deal with. Please read book one before reading this book as you will get the beginning of these two characters.
Man Nate really frustrated me. He and Katy were perfect together they just had to work through som serious crazy. Jess. Katy as awkward as ever but Nate was her perfect match. Great book.
