Ruby Callaghan might be the alpha’s niece, but that doesn’t mean she wants everyone else controlling her life. At twenty years old, she is young and free, though she’s been spending time with fellow pack-mate, Joel Golding. The male shifter has been pressing her for more, but Ruby isn’t sure she’s ready to be mated to anyone. But her alpha has other ideas. To secure the future of the Dark Ridge wolves, he orders her mating to one of the Golding brothers. The wrong brother. At twenty-eight, with his massive build and long, dark hair, Ruby has only ever thought of beta wolf, Holton Golding, as a brute. The thought of being his mate horrifies her, but she loves her pack. Should she agree with her uncle’s plans, or will other events threaten the security of the Dark Ridge wolves? *Please note, Wolf Torn was previously published as part of the Shifters and Spice boxed set. New scenes have been added and the book republished as part of The Dark Ridge Wolves series. The Dark Ridge Wolves can each be read as standalone books, as each story follows a different couple, but they are best read in order.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I absolutely adore this author's work and if anything this book made me adore her work even more, i read the first book in this series and loved it! This book starts not long after the first book finished butt doesn't include the main characters from the first book. This is a tale based back at the pack territory and you really get to see what sort of life that they have with the Alpha that they have got and the community that they live in.

The storyline to this book is highly addictive and trust me you won't be able to put this book down once you start reading, it grips you from the first page and everything else disappears. You become part of this story and that is one of the main things that i love about this author writes, she has the talent to create a seamless world full of imagination and vivid descriptions making the world feel real.

I love Ruby!!! She is extremely fiery and wilful but thats what makes me love her character so much more! She is young but she has a strong heart and you can see her actions are based on the things she has been through.I thought Holton was a brilliant character and i took to him as soon as he appears in this book and i adored seeing their relationship evolve and change.

I can't recommend this book highly enough , i adored this major page turner and it is seriously a must read!!!

Wolf Torn by Marissa farrar.
Ruby Gallagher is the niece of the alpha in her pack. Her alpha uncle Gregory has ordered her to mate with Holton Golding.
This was another fantastic read from marissa. I can't wait to read next part. I loved the story and the characters. Apart from Gregory that is. Definitely worth more than 5*. Thanks marissa.

We meet ruby who is the niece of alpha Gregory who I still don’t like and we get to see Alyssa’s brothers Joel and holton who is Gregory beta and I love the sexual tension and spicy scene between holton and ruby in the book and love ruby friendship with Florence as well and we find out about ruby parents who were killed when she was twelve and her uncle Gregory took her in and into the dark ridge wolves pack and Gregory wants ruby and holton to mate to bring two families together but Joel isn’t happy about but I love the ending when holton beats Gregory to become the new alpha and ruby the alpha female and love that holton would do anything for ruby and wants to be equals to her mate and just love reading Marissa Ferrari writing and loving her books and love that this was a quick spicy read

This book is full of unpredictable action and angst. Ruby was informed by her uncle, the Alpha, that she would be mated to Holton. This was not what she expected to happen and she was not given a choice. Holton knew she was his mate for a few years but waited until she was an adult. He talked the Alpha into the order but he also had a plan to get rid of the Alpha. The Alpha was evil but learned his lesson when he was bested by Holton. Ruby soon realized that Holton was her mate and they fought together for their pack and became the leaders of their pack.

I liked this book. Holton is sex on legs, (two or four). Ruby is young, not wanting to settle down yet but not one to upset the pack she has grown up with.
The story is about being true to yourself but also accepting that sometimes you have to make hard decisions. It is about trust and betrayal and doing what is best.
I didn't particularly warm to Ruby and felt she was a bit too self-absorbed, or maybe just a bit naive and immature, but then most 20-year-olds probably are and she improves as the story goes on. I didn't understand why she felt that Holton was brutish, especially given that her uncle the Alpha clearly has far more brutality and narcissism in his make up. I also found her change of heart to be a bit too quick and too easy to feel true.
Holton is brooding good looks, and loyal to the best interests of the pack, and I have to say it helps that they coincide with his own.
The real strength of this book is that shifters feel believable in this universe and the environment they live in is brought to life, and as I read, I was transported to the woodland, with the sounds of the birds, and small animals, the moonlit tracks and the scurrying rabbits. The pack village also feels like a real place. It brings the tale to life and really engages the reader in the life of this pack.
I will definitely read the next in the series.
I recieved an ARC of this book from the author. I have chosen to leave a review, as I do every book I read. All my reviews are my honestly held views.

Another great read from Marissa Farrar! Although this is the second book of a series you do not need to have read the first book, some characters are in both books and the first story is mentioned, but not in a way that makes a new reader wonder what on earth is being alluded to. Believable characters and a great story line, as usual with a Marissa tale just when you think you know where the plot it going something unexpected comes along!

Wolves torn

Consider if you were the alpha's niece ordered to mate the beta that you didn't really know for the better of the pack, could you? What if that same alpha double crossed that beta? What would you do? Come find out what happens....

Amazing

The storyline was correlated to the first book and hopefully Joel will find his true mate in the next book. As the first it was amazing.

Ruby is the niece to the alpha of the pack and is mindful of all that entails. She is thuroughly devoted to the pack and, not ready to be tied down, is still in love with Joel Golding. Then her alpha decides that it is best for the pack if she mates with Holton Golding, Joel's older brother...tomorrow night. Holten is older and big and scary and everything she doesn't want, but the pack needs this merging of families after the Goldings' sister ran off (see book one).

Short and steamy, this book plays with the concept of not knowing what you want until it's your only option.

This was a good follow up to the series. I'm definitely looking forward to book 3.

What a lovely second book in this shifter series by Marissa Farrar. One of those books that draws you in and then you can't put down once started. Love the way the story is going and how the characters are growing. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

This was a very solid follow up to Wolf Snatched, book 1 in the Dark Ridge Wolves Series. The ending of the first book leaves you both cheering on Alyssa, and cursing Gregory with everything in you. In the second the alpha follows right along that path and then gets even worse, his actions to maintain power made my inner feminist sit up and scream! I loved it when karma came into play, though I can't help feeling we may see him again later! Though short, it is well written, and gets a lot of action into just a few pages! Loved it and have already started the third in the series.

This was slightly better than the first book. 2.5 stars. There was shady things pulled by the alpha, and it's bound to get worse as the series continues. I still did not connect with the characters, though I was curious about how the alpha handled his loss from book one. This book is extremely short.

I received an advance copy of this set of 3 books, in exchange for my honest review.
The more I read of this author's workss, the more books of hers I want to read! Great character buildup! I know I would love to run to Holton some day!
These are great books! Get them as a set, as they are novella length, so makes a great read for a weekend.
