Stick

5 Yrs back Scherri, Stick and Stone, stick's lab were a team & best friends in school until Sherri's mom started an affair with Stick's dad & left her dad. This caused her heartbreak & she went to go live with her dad. Stick was also not happy about their marriage & got kicked out of the house upon which he joined the army & him & Sherri haven't seen each other since.
Sherri get summoned home by her mom because her grandmother's dying & as fate would have it Stick has left the army returns home. They immediately pick up their friendship, but now their attraction towards each other, which were previously denied by both, are undeniable. Sherri finally give in & gives Stick her V-card, but they keep their relationship under wraps because of their parents. Then there's a twist when an old army friend of Stick, Jacket arrives & he's also attracted to Sherri....

This book is about 2 people who have been friends since they were kids. Scher and Stick which are nicknames due to the horrible names that their parents gave them as kids became friends in school due to the bullying of these names. As time passed, their feelings became even stronger even though neither one of them would go past the “friend zone”. Scher’s mom wasn’t a very good mom to begin with and always made it known that she wasn’t happy. She ended up having an affair and leaving her husband and when that happened Scher left to move with her dad five years ago. At the same time as this happens Stick lost his dog Stone, was upset because she was leaving and didn’t like Lyndsey who was his dad’s new wife. She is also Scher’s mom, yes they were the ones having the affair. After not seeing each other for 5 years, they both come back for different reasons. The attraction is so off the charts you can light the house on fire with the 2 of them being in the same room. Even through all of the problems they are going through at this time, Scher’s mom just being her, Scher’s grandma dying, Stick coming home from deployment they just can’t stop the need for each other. When one of Stick’s army buddies comes to town, he finds her very attractive as well. One thing will lead to another and the three of them will find a way to be together. Scher’s mom thinks she’s a slut and lets her know it. Will this push her away from the guys in her life? Will she finally be able to stand up to her mom and really let her know what she thinks? Can you find true happiness with the first boy you ever loved. There is drama, sexiness, family troubles and of course love throughout this book. I though it was written well. Scheherazade, aka Scherri, is back home with her mother Lyndsey after being away for 5 years because her grandmother is sick. Scherri's mother dumped Scherri's father to marry the rich widower father of Scherri's best friend Harden, aka Stick. Scherri and Stick became best friends on the first day of school after bonding over their terrible names. Scherri has crushed on Stick for years, who went from being a skinny kid to a sexy hunk in high school, and cherished the one kiss he gave her before she went away. Stick is coming home after being released to be on call for the army, which he joined after his father kicked him after of the house after he got into an argument with his stepmother Lyndsey. Stick misses his father but misses Scherri even more. Stick, his dog Stone, and Scherri were inseparable growing up and is still upset that Scherri moved away. Stick wanted Scherri to be his girl and thinks that she must not feel the same way as him if she could leave so easily.

Stick knocks on the door when he gets home and doesn't know what hit him when the grown up and stunningly gorgeous Scherri opens the door. Scherri immediately recognises Stick and the big hug he gets from her is the best homecoming a guy can ask for. Stick wants Scherri but is doubtful that she wants him. Stick has no idea that he's not the only one having naughty fantasies. Scherri loses her virginity to Stick when they go for a dip in the lake to cool off and things start heating up. When Stick's hot army buddy Jack comes to visit, they indulge in a ménage. But is this something that Scherri wants on a regular basis? Although Stick enjoyed the experience, he knows that he wants Scherri all to himself. But what does Scherri want?

Stick is a fast-paced story that's angsty, fun and steamy. Stephanie Brother's hero and heroine are really likable and their chemistry is hot enough to set the house on fire. I highly recommend this book.

I received this ARC in return for an honest review.
This is my first book by Stephanie Brother and it was definitely a little steamy.
Stick and Scherri were best friends that did everything together, just as their friendship may have gone to another level Scherri leaves. Fast forward to Scherri returning to Stick's home - now her mother's home (thus Stick and her are step-siblings) and she runs into Stick.
As old feelings come to surface can the two friends rekindle not only their friendship but their love? As they explore their relationship, which is hot and steamy, you need to add Jacket into the mix.
This book has everything - step siblings, second chance, menage, secrets from the past.
The characters are ones you hope to hear more about in future books and maybe also hear more about Jacket and Bella.
This was a quick book - could be read in a seating depending on your read rate. I'll try another book by this author.

Another great book from Stephanie Brother! When Scheherzade "Scherri" and Harden "Stick" find themselves back in their hometown at the same time and in the same house, thanks to her mom and his dad marrying, they find the feelings they were beginning to feel at 16 have grown. Stick and Scherri understand each other in so many ways and are the perfect other half for each other. When an army buddy of Stick's, Jacket. comes to town can we say holy hotness? Stick defends Scherri from her mom when she continuously puts her down and finally Stick's dad does what he should have done all those years ago instead of kicking him out of the house, so they visit home has done some good besides reuniting these two halves of the same whole. Scherri and Stick have been best friends since they were children. They have been inseparable until Scherri’s mother divorces her father and he moves away. Scherri can’t stand the thought of living with her mother so she needs to leave. Stick can’t imagine life without Scherri but he’s not sure if she feels the same for him as he does for her.

This story is about these two people torn apart at a vulnerable age. They come together when Scherri’s grandmother is ill. The intolerable relationship Scherri has with her mother, who has now married Stick’s father, keeps Scherri doubting her purpose, her confidence and her feelings for Stick.

Without giving away any spoilers, this story needs to be appreciated for the depth of emotion these people feel and how a daughter comes to terms with her difficult relationship with her mother and with Stick. There is also an element of M/M in this story that was interesting. The HEA is unique and heartwarming.

I enjoyed this story. It was a pretty quick read that drew me in from the beginning. I loved Stick and Sherri. They grew up best friends but in the middle of high school Sherri moved away with her Dad when her parents got divorced. Her mom had been having an affair with Stick's dad. Sherri and Stick both had feelings beyond friendship for each other but they hadn't really had time to start moving past friendship before everything went down. Stick was upset with her moving away and thought he was losing his chance forever and so through the social media way of staying in touch back in Sherri's face which pretty much meant they lost contact. Sherri is back in town because her mom called and told her that her Grandma is dying and won't last long. She doesn't get along with her mom and it is easy to see why, but she comes back. Stick shows up at the house after 5 years being away after being kicked out by his father and joining the army. Sherri and Stick are immediately drawn right back to each other and as 5 years have past, their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Neither are ready to let this opportunity pass them by, so they quickly move past friendship and start exploring a romantic relationship. Things might happen quickly between them but they have a past together. The sex is explicit and it's frequent. Sherri and Stick are now step-siblings because of their parents but they never lived that way. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. I was engaged the whole time I was reading it. I would love to see what happens with Stick's Army buddy as well.

I don't know who I hate more, Scherri's mom or Stick's dad. The two of them created a hornet's nest of problems, splitting up two best friends and ripping apart families. When Scherri's grandma falls ill, it puts her back in the sights of Stick. Both older, both knowing what they want, but not sure if they should give in. But when they do, it's major fireworks, especially when Stick's army buddy arrives and enters the mix! It was steamy hot but also sweet hot as well. I really liked Scherri and Stick, and I thought both their characters were well written, and I really enjoyed this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Scherri and Stick were friends who were just starting to see if there was more to their feelings when everything went wrong. She left to be with her dad and he never forget or forgave her. Now, she is back and the feelings are stronger than ever. The attraction is something they can't deny but it is complicated. Her mom is married to his father and there is bad blood between them all.

I love the chemistry between them. There are some really good scenes. They deserve a happy ending after all the pain they went thru because of the choice of others.

Stephanie Brother has done it again with this latest release. This is the story of two childhood friends, Stick and Scherri, that reconnect after a few years apart only to find that their feelings have not gone away but have intensified. When Stick's army buddy shows up unannounced will that throw a wrench into his newly rekindled romance with Scherri or will it make them stronger as a couple? Known for bringing the heat in her stories, this is one book that any reader does not want to miss.

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This is a friends to lovers/second chance story between 2 best friends and step-siblings. Then add in the army buddy and you've got a whole lot of "stuff" happening. This book rated more along the 3.5 stars for me. While the characters are good and the plot is decent, there was an underlying disconnect I couldn't quite overcome.

Another amazing book by author Stephanie Brother. You can always count on her to bring and turn up the hot sexiness to keep you entertained and wanting more. Stick had a great story line and amazing characters. Scherri and Stick were best friends who parted ways to do there families. Now years later she is coming back home and sees him and can't forget her feels she has always had for him. Stick went to the Army after they parted ways and has become more built and attractive than before. He suffers from PDSD but the only thing that is the same is his feelings for his best friend Scherri. Find out more about what happens between Scherri and Stick by picking up your copy you will not be disappointed. I voluntarily read an advance readers copy of this book.

They were best friends until she moved away. She didn't know at the time that her mom and his dad were having an affair. Now Scherri and Stick are both home for a visit and are stepsiblings. Things heat up quickly, including with his buddy, while her B#@!& mother keeps trying to keep acting like they are blood related. A pretty decent story.

Scherri and Stick were best friends through school The two and Stone, stick's lab were a great threesome. Then Scherri's mom started having an affair with Stick's dad. Scherri is upset by her mom's betrayal of her dad and leaves to live with him but not before she gives Stick a more than friend's kiss. Stick is unhappy with his new stepmom and is kicked out of the house He joins the army and has some traumatic experiences.
It is now 5 years later. Scherri is called in by her mom because her grandmother is dying. Stick has left the army and is trying to get used to civilian life again and returns home. The two are happy to see each other and their friendship picks up just where they left it. However they both want more than friendship. The passion between the two grows until Scherri gives Stick her virginity, Stick feels stressed and guilty and backs away until an old army friend/enemy drops in. Jacket is attracted to Scherri right away. Will Stick come to his senses before he loses Scherri? What happens when their parents find out.
This is a great story with lots of hot sex and emotions. I really enjoyed it. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review

A hot, steamy tale of childhood friends reconnecting and finally admitting they both want more than friendship.

This is a quick read that keeps you interested with the twist to to the storyline. Stick and Scherri haven't seen each other for five years, a result of her mother marrying his father.

Both have matured and changed over these five years, but the attraction is stronger than ever.

I love both Stick and Scherri. They are developed, believable characters. They are complemented by the secondary characters, particularly "the mother from hell".

Another twist raises the heat and steam factor of this book.....no spoiler, you'll have to read the book!

God he's (Stick) beautiful! Wow, what a story! Romance, lust, sex and exceptional characters. Kind of scary and angsty at times, but overall an excellent and love story! ;)

Scheherazade and Stick are childhood friends who are thrown back together 5 yrs later and fall in love. This story was pretty steamy with a lot of chemistry between the two of them. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is an awesome book. Sherri's mom and Stick's dad had an affair that tore the families apart and then they get married. Sherri moves away with her dad and Stick gets kicked out of his house because of his hatred for his stepmom. Five years later they both return to the same house not knowing the other will be there. I don't know how a mother could treat her own daughter the way Sherri's mom treats her but I am glad Stick was there with her for support. The both confess that they have loved the other since they were younger but with her mother calling them brother and sister all the time they feel it is wrong and they hide what they are doing. After his Army buddy came for a visit and things got intense between Stick, Sherri, and Jacket. Then the same day her grandmother dies and her mom says a lot of mean things to her. She is really upset after telling her mom off and Jacket and Stick together make her feel better. Will they finally be able to come out with their feeling and be happy and what does his dad feel about the situation?

When their parents married neither was willing to have anything do to with them, but 5 years later the two are reunited at Stick's childhood home and things heat up quickly. Will they be able to pursue a relationship together despite their parents marriage? When Stick's friend, Jacket comes to town, will Stick help Sherri live out her fantasies or will he let Jacket come between them?

This book was a steamy one! Loved how these two had a past beyond their parent's relationship. Hated Sherri's mom honestly and didn't know what to make of Stick's dad. Loved Jacket's easy go lucky personality and how he was willing to help the two of them knowing it wasn't a lasting thing. Loved how these two fit together perfectly and both made the other one stronger! Hot book and a great read! Definitely recommend.

This was a delightful story about best friends since childhood, Stick and Scherri until at age 16 Scherri moves away from her miserable excuse of a mother (boy what am Mofo her mom is). Sherri goes to live with her dad as Sherri's mother had an affair with Stick's dad and moves in with him. Poor Stick is kicked out of his own home by his dad's new wife (Sherri's mom). Six years later Sherri and Stick both end up at their parents house and Stick can't keep his eye's off Sherri, still innocent and gorgeous and Sherri can't deny the chembetween and notices that Stick has grown into a handsome, and very hot man. Stick and Scherri realize they have more then chemistry and physical attraction, they quickly form a very strong, loving bond. To seemingly complicate matters, one of Stick's army buddies shows up and is also attracted to Scherri. I enjoyed this read, it had heart and substance. with heart, lust, steamy sex, MFM scenes and even a little laughter. I voluntarily review an Advance Reader Copy of this book but I also bought a copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Stephanie Brother about two people who were best friends growing up and were separated when one of them moved away. Five years later that both come home but to the same home, Scherri's mom married Stick's dad. When they see each other the feelings are still there and the sparks fly off the page. Stick came home after being in the military where he lost a friend, when another fellow military man, Jacket, comes to his place, Jacket can't but help falling for Scherri as well.
The three have explosive scenes together, the angst, the lust, the love, you cant help but feel it through the pages.....loved it.
A great book with steamy scenes, lust/love, angst, and a HEA you can smile about.

Best friends as children grow up to be lovers but their path there wasn’t easy. Scherri leaves town to live with her father after her parent’s marriage failed. Stick knew about his dad’s and Scherri’s mother having an affair which he ends up marrying her and then she gets Stick kicked out of his own home. He ends up joining the Army and returns home to deal with his PTSD the same time Scherri comes into town due to her Grandmother’s illness.
Now you have the basics it’s a great story on how they get to their HEA even with all the ups and downs they must deal with, like Scherri’s mother, Stick’s military buddy, dealing with their feelings for each other. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Oh my...this was hot, sweet and sexy all at the same time! Stellar writing had me hooked from the first chapter and held me captive until the very end. It was witty, raw, emotional and downright sexy. Amazing character development had me enraptured with Stick and Scherri and even Jacket. I love Stick...he's got a lot to deal with but Scherri has always been the one to calm him and keep him sane. Scherri is sweet, innocent with a wild side just waiting to break free. I loved reading her breaking down the barriers and figuring out who she is and going after who and what she wants. And can I just say Jacket is sexy as hell and I HOPE to read more about him in a future book perhaps?? ;o)

A definite must read for those who enjoy steamy sexual scenes with a sweet side of romance!
