I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.

I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.

No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.

We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.

Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.

It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

A Mixed Motley Crew Moves Out

Nomad Unleashed and the Terry Henry Walton series just gets better and better. Our town of humans and Werewolves has expanded to include the rest of Charamuti's pack. After a knock down, drag out fight for the position of Alpha, Timmons, who had hoped to be Alpha, is now walking on three paws and Char and THW are acknowledged as the Alpha leaders.

After integrating several groups of people into the town, it becomes apparent that the power plant is in deep trouble. Mechanic is joined by Timmons, who is a nuclear engineer and they work together with everyone to shut down the plant to repair it and bring it back online.

With the quick thinking of the whole town, the plant is fixed as best as possible. However, everyone now knows that it is dying and they must leave New Boulder or perish in the heat.

The forces of the town split, a contingent goes ahead with TH and Char, looking for old Chicago. A group of the Force De Guerre, trains everyone for the long trip ahead while continuing to protect the settlement. The remaining people are continuing to farm, produce seeds, pack food and necessities for the trip.

Billy Spires, the Mayor, gets bent out of shape by the Mechanic, bugging him to let him bring every tool they own. Billy snaps at him and the Mechanic does from a heart attack. Billy flees into the mountains and has to be retrieved by Sue and Clyde, his dog.

But such wonders and agony are being experienced by the Chicago bound group. Questions are swirling around TH's head. Will the whole group be able to walk the two thousand miles? Will there be enough food and water?
What will happen to them when they reach Chicago? I guess you'll have to read this book.

It's almost two years since TH and Char settled in town and, although food has become more plentiful, with over three hundred townsfolk to help with the work, the heat is getting worse, and the power plant is running on a wing and a prayer.

Even with the help of the werewolves, who all had specialities in the tech to keep it going, there were no spare parts left, and the water in the lake was sinking as fast as the temperature rose.

It took a brief visit from Akio, to make TH realise that he would have to move the whole town to Chicago, where Akio assured him they could thrive, with hard work, and so, once again, TH and Char take a group of their FDG, and go on a trek of thousands of miles, to see if it were possible...

This was a great read, and really brought it home to me how hard it would be to live, let alone thrive, in a world without the modern tech we're used to.

I love the way that TH and Char support each other as they fight to keep their pee alive - it was also a bit of a tease to have Akio appear, here, too! Lol

A brilliant read, once again, and now I'm off to the next book in this great series: Nomad Supreme...

Loved this continuation of the story. Although I have to say I HATED the flashback that showed what happened to Mellissa. That was just terrible. They were the perfect couple and boom end of the world and he basically ends up with them dying in his arms. Although at least he got to kill all those responsible. But still REALLY why? Also what ever did happen to his buddy Rod? I mean he needs his buddy with an itch to show that he is a man with a plan. Although have to be happy that he has Char now. She is the best thing to happen to TH in a while.

So far I have one more huge question that I hope gets answered later. Where is Jeffery the old American Alpha. Did he die? Did he go with BA? What about Jonathan, Peter's dad?

He's done it again!

I meant to hit the five star--Drat!! This series gets better with each book. This might be called pulp fiction, but good fiction it is. The characters are growing and the plot moves along without much in the way of boring passages that say nothing. As with all the Kutherian gambit, the innuendoes leading to other stories is fun and keeps people guessing. Keep up the good work, Craig.

A CM/MA SYFY Novel (NU) (AkGS) (THWCB - 3)

CM/MA have penned the third novel in the Gambit series. In the third session out intrepid hero and girl (wolf) ,friend have contacted her pack and found that the old pack leader is dead. This leave our intrepid leaders more firm ground to stand on and stand they do. Their small Army has increased and become very proficient at pilfering. The new army engage in a new battle. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

A growing band

TH, Char and the others in the group are continuing their work towards growing their civilization. We get the fun of seeing how the different types are becoming more invested in the vision TH has for the future. A strong party goes on a very ambitious scouting mission while Mark works on further training their warriors & being helpful to Billy in keeping the peace of the town.

I enjoyed this book immensely. Anytime a book can make me laugh out loud while reading it, the author has done something right. The banter between characters, especially Terry and Char cracks me up. For me, the TWH Chronicles is the most like the main Kurtherian books compared to the other side series making it the most enjoyable of them. The writing is solid, the story telling is good and the characters are great. I've already started the next book. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Fun read and quick paced

Like the prior books in this series, this one didn’t slow down and continued seamlessly in both the story line and character development from the prior book. I’ve found this to be fun airplane reading and have enjoyed the author’s writing style and plot building.

TH finally gets some action!

It is getting hotter and the wolves are coming. Nobody lives forever. Movie, TV, and book references may outlast us all. Is there a contest to see how many we identify? Parts of this sobering dystopian series made me laugh and go, "huh". It is a keeper.

Good story!

Don't remember if it was this story or a previous one, but a word was used in error. "Decimate" was a Roman punishment, killing one in ten of a unit that showed cowardly behavior. We also get the word " decimal ". So to use it to describe a unit that was totally wiped out, is in error. If it wasn't one of your books, sorry.

Great!

This was a really good long book. I love a multifaceted tale and this is one. Although we concentrate on TH and Char, there are enough main characters to have this book in many different places at once, and the winding of each person through the others stories is really nice to read.

Keeps getting better!

TH and Char continue to build New Bolder with the help of the Mayor and towns people. Char deals with her pack after having killed the Alpha and a surprise visitor sets TH on a new quest to make life better for those he has promised to protect. This story just gets better with each installment!

Awesome, Craig!!!😉

The journey is about to begin. The town is pulling together. The FDG is training and becoming a well-oiled machine. We are seeing more deeply into various characters, and seeds have been planted to tease us for future stories. Onwards and upwards!

With the powerplant on its last legs and the climate becoming untenable, TH takes a team east to find another place to be home.
No big battle scenes in this book, more character building and people getting used to working together.

Good bridge

The story is good, and there is new development for characters and even some new faces. But this book is mostly about what is to come.

I'm loving this series.

This book picks up right where the last ended. I'm really enjoying this series. The only problem I have is there are too many f-bombs. It's really over used.

Terry and Char are becoming a team. The adventure is great. I had to get a map so I could visualize the route. Now I am totally entrenched in these books.

Is Akido a vampire ?

The power plant rebuild pages were boring.
Don't vampires drink human blood ?
How was the vampire able to be in daylight ?
